Canadian Tire - Auto motive

Yesterday sathurday May 27th was my appointment for tire changing (I booked this appointment at the store 3 weeks ago). I got there before the appointment time which was 2 pm. I signed the bill and left as I was told I will be called in less than 2 hours. The representative teven old me the car will be probably ready at 3 pm. I came back at 4 pm (never been called). Iasked them if I could have my car back as I thought seeing it outside. The cashier told me that they are working on my car and it will be done soon. I decided to stay in the waiting room, After 30 min, As I keep seeing my car at the same spot, I went out to check if it was really mine (checking the liecense plate). The cahsier then told me that my car wasn't ready and that they appologize because the technician made a mistake and din't communicate with them.

I do realize they are busy but I don't understand how they can forget to take care of my car (even after I gave them the second chance to rectify the mistake). I was there at 2 pm and left 4 hours after. The technician came to me apologizing about the mistake and wanted to do my car in 45 min instead of 1 hour as he previously told me. This make me feel very angry. I ddecided to take my car back and cancel the storage (i've been storing my tires in this store since the winter). This is really inacceptable.

Desired outcome: For this error I think they should have change my tires for free after wasting all my saturay. I hope you will be able to contact this store and make them understand how I felt and also I will bring my tires in another Canadian Tire.

Canadian Tire - timing belt

A month ago, my 2001 Honda Odyssey stopped running in the middle of the street. Unable to get it running myself, I had it towed to the nearest service center I knew of, which turned out to be at 2681 Danfrth Ave. in Toronto. After doing their $90 'diagonstic', they determined that the timing belt was broken. Not being familiar with the type of engine that was in my van, I didn't know at the time that it was an 'INTERFERENCE' type engine, and that losing a timing meant a high likelihood of serious engine damage. So I asked them what can be done to get it working. They told me that they would have to 'first replace the timing belt to get it started' and determine what kind of shape the engine was in. This would cost me $1400. You would think that if the service people had ANY sense of integrity (or adequate knowledge) they would KNOW that a broken timing belt in an interference engine meant a GUARANTEED screwed engine and that changing the belt would be a waste of time and money. If they had been told this I would have stopped everything right there, taken it to more capable people and saved myself $1400. Then again, Canadian Tire is in the business of making MONEY, and not in the business of looking out for their customers' well being.
Watch your backs and your money with these guys, people!

Canadian Tire - refuse to returen electric bike after 2 days

I bought an electric bike at Canadian tire and was totally unhappy so I went to return the product after two days.
They refused, first the girl that works at the counter looked at a book and said that this is non returnable - when I asked her why it's not on my receipt or why I wan not informed before buying it she said "our return policy is none of the customer business"
I spoke to the manager and got a negative answer.
The next day I spoke with the owner who called me a layer and that her employee told me its non returnable.
This product is available to purchase on line with no note what so ever about no return so what if I would buy it on line what excuse they use then?
Also the owner said that on the receipt there is a condition "some restrictions apply" - well that mean that they can get out of any warranty or return for any product.
Beware of this ### tire and DONT ever buy from them.
I'm going to court with this guys and a picture I took from the store saying "we stand behind what we sell & easy returns save your receipt"
This is the worst service I found in Canada and suite 3rd world countries and not the 2nd large chain here.

I had the same issue as well, i call called head office and was given the "its up to the general managers discretion". I then called the manufacturer of the bike. I was told they are fed up with Canadian tire not honoring the manufactures "satisfaction guarantee". The general manager of Canadian tire called me and very kindly requested i bring the bike back. He would not give me any indication of why the sudden change of heart, even after fully being aware of 3 stores in GVR denying my return.

I would call the manufacturer. Original condition - yes, but if they honor the satisfaction "guarantee" the item if returned in "sellable" condition should be accepted. It was for me, granted it took 6 phone calls and 5 visits in total to 3 different stores.

I have the same problem with you guys. I bought a bike from CT and the bike itself had mechanical problems. I went to CT to return it, but they refused. I think we can unite, we can sue CT together. If you guys want to talk to me, you can email me.

I got a same experience when I bought my bicycle. They should inform people there is no returns for the bikes and put the sign on the rack or somthing... BUT you barely can't find any warning on their site, flyers, store or being told by their staff. It is a hidden policy and the company did this on purpose. Of course the customers will think twice before purchase it. I called other companies like Sport Check, Wal Mart...etc. They all accept returns for bikes. That's cheating! Just email and tell everyone you know they should think twice before they buy anything from them.
