After being charged 282.00 for a dirty room with a30 year old fridge and no microwave the owner threatened to keep my deposit and call police. Room stunk of smoke and vomit and they refused to honor their posted price on booking.com. only reason I stayed was that they had charged a nonrefundable rate to my credit card. I didn't even see the room prior to them charging me.
Recommendation: Don't go. So many nicer places, priced far less.
The place is dirty, full of mice and mouse
The place is dirty, full of mice and mouse. Bathroom full of smoke smell. Bed sheets are not clean and smells nasty.
Don't waste your money on this place
Don't waste your money on this place. I decided to stay here and the rooms were super dirty. The air smelled bad, the water was cold, the wifi was slow, the staff was rude, and there were loud guests banging doors at 1am. They even charged me without asking for a "blood stain." It wasn't something I stole or broke, just a few spots that could be washed. But they made me pay more than double the price of one night's stay, even though their sheets probably cost no more than $12 from cheap brands. I'm really unsatisfied with my experience.
They charged my credit card 6 hours before check-in and didn't let me check in on time
They charged my credit card 6 hours before check-in and didn't let me check in on time. They also didn't give me a receipt. The police were called by both parties, but they didn't make a report. My credit card company and the reservation counter are ignoring me. Can you please help me resolve this issue? It's really frustrating and the service is terrible. I've reported all of this, but nothing is happening. I want them to be shut down and to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
This hotel is the absolute worst!
This hotel is the absolute worst! We were freezing all night because the heaters were broken. They only provided us with these bright space heaters that made it impossible to sleep. When I talked to the front desk, they refused to give me a refund and still charged me for the entire three-day stay, even though we left early in the morning. The bathroom tiles and walls around the baseboard heaters under the windows had black mold, which makes me think it's a bigger issue they're trying to hide. The way they treated us was like a slum lord. On top of that, there were no dishes at all for the kitchenette and the customer service was terrible.
They gave me a really old agreement to sign and the guy working that night just said, "Yeah, no smoking in the rooms, that's it, everything will
They gave me a really old agreement to sign and the guy working that night just said, "Yeah, no smoking in the rooms, that's it, everything will be good." They made me put down a $300 deposit on my debit card. When I checked out after staying for one night, they inspected the room and found one cigarette that wasn't even lit, not even a little bit touched, it was just dropped. They didn't refund any of my money, so it ended up costing me $400 for just one night. Another guy who came in after me had the exact same problem. It seems like they purposely set things up so that nobody can get their damage deposit back.
This hotel/motel is a total scam!
This hotel/motel is a total scam! They lie about their rules and payment methods. They don't even follow their own policies on noise, visitors, and smoking. When they take your money, they act all nice and helpful. But if you dare to complain, they become super rude and aggressive. They won't even tell you how to escalate your concerns or who the owners are. They treat you with utter contempt if you have any complaints and couldn't care less about customer service. It's like they're running some kind of sketchy place and charging you to be mistreated. Seriously, don't even think about staying at this dump if you want to feel safe and get a good night's sleep. The hotel staff were arguing with other guests about check-out times at 12:30 AM for like 10-15 minutes. And then at 1:30 AM, there was even more loud banging on doors and more noisy discussions. When I asked for a refund for my second night, they were so rude and aggressive that they actually hung up on me.
I booked a room through a hotel booking website, but was told I booked twice at check-in
I booked a room through a hotel booking website, but at check-in, they claimed I reserved it twice. No booking confirmation was sent to me. I presented a screenshot of my reservation, insisting on a single booking. They seemed to understand and requested my credit card for a security deposit. Post-authorization, they demanded payment for two rooms. I refused, as I was alone. The receptionist appeared helpless, so I asked to speak with the manager. The manager, who was curt on the call, threatened to involve the police without cause and insisted on charging for two rooms. I reached out to the booking site's customer service, who advised me to leave and seek a refund through my credit card issuer. I followed their advice and received a refund. Beware of this establishment as it may attempt to overcharge customers.
This is a complaint about the terrible treatment I received at Canadas Best Value Inn - Calgary Chinook Station
This is a complaint about the terrible treatment I received at Canadas Best Value Inn - Calgary Chinook Station. I have stayed in many hotels and motels over the past 31 years, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. On May 26/21, my friend and I checked into this motel after I had major shoulder surgery. We were visiting the surgeon who performed the surgery and I needed to rest. My friend booked the room under his name and paid for the daily rate and a room security deposit. The front desk employee didn't explain any motel policies or check-out time. She only asked how many people would be staying in the room and how my friend would be paying. We noticed a shoe print on one of the bedsheets when we entered the room, but we didn't think much of it. Later that evening, I started feeling better and decided to check out and drive home. When my friend went to check out, the same front desk employee asked us to wait outside while she inspected the room. She was inside for a long time, and we wondered if she was texting on her phone instead of doing her job. When she finally came out, she told my friend that she found cigarette ash residue in the room and refused to refund his room security deposit. My friend explained that he never smoked in the room and even went outside to smoke. He asked her to check the security camera footage, but she ignored him and threatened to call the police. My friend was upset and felt like he had been robbed. He told me what happened, and I went inside to talk to the employee. She was still texting on her phone when I approached the front desk. I asked her about the cigarette ash and where she found it. I explained that I was the one who was sick and resting in bed, and I don't smoke. I also asked for a clear copy of the motel invoice. The employee reluctantly printed a new copy but refused to give me any contact information for a manager or the corporate office. She took down my name and phone number but didn't seem to write anything down. Within seconds, my phone rang, and it was the motel manager. I explained the situation to her, but she started yelling at me and making false accusations. She mocked my health issues and claimed that I threatened and assaulted her employee. I denied these allegations and told her I would be contacting the corporate office and the police. She continued yelling and threatened to call the police herself. I hung up and told the employee that I would be filing a complaint against the motel and the manager. I also mentioned contacting the ComplaintsBoard.com. I left the building feeling disgusted and stressed. On the way home, I called another Canadas Best Value Inn location for help, but they couldn't provide any information. They suggested doing an internet search. I found a website where I could submit a complaint, and I plan to do so. This experience has been the worst treatment I have ever received as a guest. It has left us feeling violated and uncomfortable staying at any Canadas Best Value Inn in the future. We feel like we were robbed of our security deposit, and it's frustrating that the motel can falsely accuse and scam guests. My friend works hard for minimum wage, and it's unfair that his money was taken from him. I believe this could be a form of fraud and scam. After researching online, I discovered that this location has many negative reviews, with several guests complaining about not receiving their security deposit refunds. I hope something can be done about this motel's behavior. Thank you for reading my message. I wanted to share everything that happened in the hope that it will lead to some resolution.

Scam artists
This place scams people thousands of dollars for bogus charges they make up. They need to be shut down. My friends credit card was charged $1500 for charges that don't even make sense. Absolutely disgusting behavior!
Claimed loss: $1500 stolen money
Desired outcome: I would like them shut down and refund everyone they have stolen from.

The hotel room is not up to par, and the internet connection is terrible
The hotel room is not up to par, and the internet connection is terrible. I wanted to leave after one night and get a refund for the second night. They charged me for both nights when I checked in, along with a $200.00 damage deposit. After just 30 minutes of being there and seeing how awful it was, I wanted to cancel the second night. But the front desk at the hotel refused to give me my money back.
I booked through a third-party website to stay at this hotel
I booked through a travel agency to stay at this hotel. Canadas Best Value has issues like mice, bed bugs, and a pervasive cigarette smell. The toilets malfunction, not even handling toilet paper. The agency enforces a no-refund policy. The hotel withheld my damage deposit, despite my cleaning the room. The receptionist falsely accused me of smoking, yet I found an ashtray in the dresser. I feel cheated out of $300.
This hotel is a terrible place, should be closed permanently
This hotel is a terrible place, should be closed permanently. We cancelled our booking 24 plus hours prior to arrival, due to my wife's broken wrist. We have requested a full refund and will continue with this "demand" until our credit card charges are fully refunded. The worst ratings should be shown for this hotel/motel! We are requesting a full refund.
I had to pay a $500 damage deposit, $300 when I first rented and $200 after 3 days for a longer stay
I had to pay a $500 damage deposit, $300 when I first rented and $200 after 3 days for a longer stay. The room was actually cleaner than when I arrived, so no damage was done. I asked about their policy multiple times and they assured me that I wouldn't have any issues. However, they falsely accused me of having a dog and claimed that they couldn't return my money because they saw a dog when I wasn't there. They refused to let me in and told me to call the police, and they even laughed at me.
I was told that I would get my $150 damage deposit back when I left
I was told that I would get my $150 damage deposit back when I left. But that didn't happen because they said I damaged the room, which I didn't. I stayed in room *** for 6 nights. The only thing that got damaged was the toilet paper holder, which fell off when the cleaners were there. It could have been easily fixed. The room itself was not damaged at all. I want my deposit back right away.
From December 28, to January 1, 2022, we paid $300 ($75/night) and a $300 debit deposit
From December 28, to January 1, 2022, we paid $300 ($75/night) and a $300 debit deposit. The room got flooded on the first night. We left for 15 minutes, and when we returned, the toilet water had leaked all over the room. Another tenant told us that there had been previous floods in the past month. On two separate occasions, we got stuck in the room because the door wouldn't open, which is a safety concern. They kept our $300 deposit because of the flood. They promised to give it back and switch our rooms, but none of that happened. The manager was really unprofessional and called us bad names. She even suggested we get a lawyer and threatened to call the police on us. All we want is our $300 deposit back.
I stayed at a budget hotel on June 3rd, 2022
I stayed at a budget hotel on June 3rd, 2022. I gave the hotel a $500 debit damage deposit on my Debit Card. When checking out, the staff claimed they could smell cigarette smoke from my room, which I dispute as I don't smoke. The hotel has smoking rooms and a pervasive smoke odor. They withheld my deposit based on this unsubstantiated claim. The staff refused to provide their name or manager contact. It seems like an unjust attempt to keep my deposit without evidence. They should use the deposit for cleaning only if they can prove I smoked. I doubt they cleaned the room properly before reoccupying it. I'm seeking the return of my deposit and hope the ComplaintsBoard.com can guide me on how to proceed. Thank you for reading. Field
I went to that hotel on Feb 16, 2020
I went to that hotel on Feb 16, 2020. I chose this hotel because I have a family of 6 people and most of the hotels ask me to take two rooms if they have no family room that fits all six people. Most of the Hotels have a high price, but I chose this one because the *** website gave me two rooms for around $100. At the check-in time, I was charged $200 as a damage deposit for each room—a total of $400. I didn't like the way the customer service dealt with me. I asked for a family room or at least give me two rooms next to each other. He gave me two far rooms, *** and ***. I felt I wanted to cancel the reservation but that will cost me to pay for another hotel, which I can't afford. *** Then, at night time, I tried to lock the room from outside to go shopping. The room didn't lock. I asked the customer service t...
This Inn has lots of complaints and bad reviews for saying I caused damage to the room, mostly about smoking
This Inn has lots of complaints and bad reviews for saying I caused damage to the room, mostly about smoking. They charged me for damages that I didn't do. The charge for my actual stay was somehow entered with my PIN, even though I was there and gave my authorization. I don't know when or why they entered the number. The second charge was made without me being there and without telling me they would charge my account for "damages". They say I was there and used my chip card and PIN. The bank shows that the card was present and PIN was used too. But I didn't do this transaction. They said I smoked in the room and sent me a pic of a baseboard covered in ashes, looks like someone dumped a whole ashtray on it, a pic of empty Vape packages (Vape doesn't make ashes), and a pic of a towel that wasn't washed and put on the ground outside. (If it wasn't washed, how do you know it was stained?) I'm a nurse and had my baby and husband with me.
I got to the hotel on Tuesday Oct.4 and found out that my booking got canceled by the hotel 'cause I accidentally booked it from Oct.3-10
I got to the hotel on Tuesday Oct.4 and found out that my booking got canceled by the hotel 'cause I accidentally booked it from Oct.3-10 instead of Oct.4-10 (my bad) and I wasn't there the first day. I asked if they could just uncancel it and I pay for the day I missed, but they said no 'cause another customer booked the room already. They said I'd get a refund from *** (the booking company). So, I went on *** and booked another room, which was more expensive 'cause they didn't have any of the cheaper ones left. I couldn't reach anyone at *** or cancel the room on their site, even though the hotel said it was canceled. The only thing I could do was talk to an online bot that told me to email the hotel about the situation. I got charged for 2 rooms for the whole week, even though I'm just one person. I emailed the hotel, but it's been 2 days and still no reply. So, I went to the front desk to ask when I could expect a reply, and they said on Tues Nov.11 (the day after I was supposed to leave). Till now, they haven't replied, and I've been charged for 2 rooms (Oct.3-10 + Oct.4-10).
I went to that hotel on Feb 16, 2020
I went to that hotel on Feb 16, 2020. I picked this hotel because I have a family of 6 people and most hotels tell me to get two rooms if they don't have a big enough family room. Most hotels are expensive, but I chose this one because the *** website gave me two rooms for about $100. When I checked in, they charged me $200 as a damage deposit for each room, so a total of $400. I didn't like how the customer service treated me. I asked for a family room or at least two rooms next to each other. They gave me two far rooms, *** and ***. I felt like canceling the reservation, but that would mean paying for another hotel, which I can't afford. *** Then, at night, I tried to lock the room from outside to go shopping. The room wouldn't lock. I asked the customer service to check it, and he said he would talk to the manager and let me know. But he never did. When I checked out, I cleaned the room and made sure everything was okay. I always take pictures of the room as a routine. After a few hours, I saw that they charged me an extra $15.75 and $101.85 for each room. I asked why, and they said there was damage in the room. I told them there was no damage, and they said there was blood on the sheets. So I asked for proof. They sent me two pictures that didn't show blood, just some brown dirt. *** Whatever it was, it doesn't make the price they charged fair.
