metal carport
The carport delivered was as ordered, but the installation was a nightmare. We were told that the site had to be withing 4-6 inches of level, which it was. We went to great trouble and expense to be sure the site was ready for delivery. When the all-hispanic install crew arrived, we were told NO, the site had to be 100% level. We would need to scrape out about a 4 inch deep trench about 2 feet long to get the leg perfectly level. The crew chief said he did not have time for us to fix the problem (which ended up taking less than ten minutes). CCI wanted to charge US $100 labor to dig-out the small spot. The installer wanted to take-down the carport because he did not have time for this, even though CCI was three-days late in their delivery. NEVER AGAIN. Rude, obnoxious, insulting.
late delivery, possible robbery attempt
As with other complaints, I received no communication from CCI until I called the person I ordered from and got the direct # to the person handling Louisiana installations. Still got the run around. My RV cover was installed approximately 9 Wks after ordering. The crew was fast and did a good job. However I was concerned about all the questions Iwas being asked by the only member of the crew that spoke English. He asked if I lived nearby(rv is at a hunting area with some homes nearby), and also asked how often I came to the site. When I caught one of the other crew members checking out the dead bolt I had on my shop door I became suspicious. I have a tractor, implements, a boat, tools, trailer for the tractor, etc. in the shop. Well this past week someone broke into my RV by breaking a window. It was obvious they were looking for a key to the shop. Nothing was taken from the RV. However, a pry bar was used to try to open the door to the shop. I am writing this to see if anyone else has experienced a break-in not long after having a carport installed by CCI. I have no proof but circumstances are worrisome.
installation time 8 to 16 weeks not 2 to 4 weeks
I was told when I purchased my carport that in would be installed in 2 to 4 weeks. They called me after two weeks and said I would be contacted with in the next 2 weeks to setup installation. After two weeks and no call I called them. They said I would be contacted with in the next 2 weeks to setup installation. After 2 more weeks and no call I called them again. This time they said it would be 2 to 4 weeks more before they could get to my installation.
bad workmanship
We ordered a 'horse barn' from Carolina Carports. It was to be to match one that was on our property when we bought it, to double the size. It was actually on time, 5 weeks. They sent workers who could not speak a word of English and did not have the supplies to do the job. They did not 'tape' the seams. The next day it rained. We had 10 leaks and huge pools of water inside the barn. We called, they said they could send out the same workers, really? How on earth could that help? They sent us a few rolls of tape for us to fix it ourselves. We paid $6000 and have to fix it all ourselves. Looking over it to fix it, we found a broken support. Do NOT use these people. If I had known, I would have done it myself, and save a lot of time, money and frustration.
installation
They arrived at 7am without any warnng, as they arrived they were instructed not to touch any bushesand that our son was on the way to cut down anything that was in the way since we had spent the previous weekend cutting them back . They ignored instructions and cut down my 12 foot bushes to inches off the ground . The gm working the install lied about my husband and I giving him permission going as far to say he asked me which never happened. The damage done was over $2, 000 based on an expert landscapist quote which we paid out of our own pocket. . We have heard other horror stories about installs in our area which were never resolved either. Look for someone else is my best advise
The carport Carolina Carport installed has begun to rust. Those rust spots have dripped on my white car and motorhome. They refuse to fix the car or the motorhome. It has been 5 months that we have been waiting for a repair on the carport. I can't park my car nor motorhome under our 5000 dollar carport for fear that it will cause more damage. Their customer service is atrocious! They don't call back. They are RUDE! There is never any upper management to speak to. They schedule a repair and week later we are still waiting... This is the worst company I have EVER dealt with. Do your self a favor and avoid them like the plague!
non delivery of a carport
I purchase a 18x21 7ft wall upgrade box eve style carport from a local dealer in athens ga, on 9 - 22 - 14
They told me 3 - 6 weeks and should be 3 - 4 because this is the slow season.
I recieved a call from carolina carports on week 4 and set up a delivery date for the next friday
They called on that thirsday and said there delivery truck down so the need to reshedule for the next monday at 11:00am
I waited untill 2:30 and called them because they havent showed and they said oh there on there way.
I waited till 5:00 no show then i get a voice mail saying were broke down in athens a hour away and they will have to reschedule for next week.
Now im pissed as theres no way this could happen two different times.
The delivery is 20 miles from my home at my property in greene county ga. Which is land only right now with a driveway and doesnt have anything there yet not even electricity.
What really makes me made is
1 - i had to take off work $200. 00 loss of income
2 - i had to drive 20 miles to my property and sit in my vehical for 6 hours waiting on them and they never showed
Any how after there no show i called them again to see when there coming and they told me oh were working hard to reshedule you and will call me soon,
No call came so i called again and they said they would call me that afternoon and suprisingly they did call but said oh the lady doing the scheduling is working hard to get my metal on a truck and delivered and woud call me soon.
Another big lie so i called the best buidings in athens ga. The place i ordered it from and he said this is not right and said he would call them to straighten this out and call me that afternoon and he never called me (This is nuts) i called him two days in a row and finaly got him and he said oh i called them and a manager is supposed to call him at 1:00 that day and he would call me (Guess what im still waiting for his call)
So i called carolina carports for the 7 or 8th time and the georgia. Scheduling lady named amanda said oh we can do it november 17th or the 20th and they call a week before to let me know what date and time and its the week before and no calls.
So i emailed carolina carports last night 11 - 13 - 14 and they called at 9:00am this morning saying that it will be sometime after thanks giving before thay can deliver (Are you kidding me as that will make 11 - 12 or more weeks waiting time)
As of now i feel like ive got screwed they too $84. 75 deposite (Non refundable after 24 hours and i have nothing to show for it
Im still waiting and i dont think there gona do me right.
All i can say is dont ever buy anything from this company as they are rip offs and liars

The customer service is BAD! The delivery takes WAY to long!
Update on my continued problems with this company. Two weeks ago I got a delivery date after more of my calls to them. They said it would have to be after Thanksgiving. Alabama person said we will be there Friday, Dec 5th, early morning. I made work schedule arrangements. Something told me to call them yesterday. Yep, here we go. Got the excuse that they would have to reschedule due to truck problems and illness at the Georgia warehouse where they would be coming from. (LOL). The same exact excuses others have posted. I asked her when she was going to let me know this, as I had taken off from work Friday. She rambled she would have called me today, probably. (again LOL). I insisted on a supervisor, didn't want to talk to the Alabama supervisor anymore as she obviously doesn't know anything. After my rant with Katie, she said they could come Monday the 8th. We will see if this happens, I doubt it. I am concerned that all their Hispanic construction workers have gone home for the holidays now. I have the number for the Georgia warehouse and I think I will just give them a call today and see if they have a delivery order for Monday in Alabama. Good luck for all that make the mistake I did, dealing with this poorly organized company. I told they yesterday that I wish I had checked the BBB Before buying a building from them. Hundreds of delivery complaints on there.
Ordered building in August 2014, distributor told me delivery is in 6-8 weeks. I have checked with them in NC many times and here it is Nov 22nd and no calls, no carport. Times for delivery has gone from 6-8, to 8-10, to 10-12 weeks. Ridiculous company. One time I called and they even said they couldn't find my order. I bet they found my $450 deposit quickly and cashed it! Never again if and when I ever get this building. Stay clear of this company.
leaks
I purchased a carolina carport, the roof on the thing leaks like a sive.I contacted them about the problem and they told me there was only a 30 day warranty on their product and more or less told me oh well not our problem.I would highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a carport not to buy from them and to be sure that if as this company only has a 30 warranty to be sure any you buy has no leaks or other defects within the 30 day time frame.

Carolina Carport had contacted me to inform me that because I was getting lap siding I was expected to pay an addition $500 more than the signed contract...When I informed them that a County Inspector would be on the premise to inspect the building they said they would get back with me...In the meantime I contacted the dealer where I ordered the building, he said he would contact Carolina Carports..The dealer said he would absorb the extra cost...Carolina Carport added the extra charge because at first they were going to place the studs at five foot intervals, (and not follow the Florida Building codes), but after I told them an County Inspector would be present they then decided to follow Florida Building codes and charge me extra...So I personally believe they were trying to build to their standards instead of following the Florida Building codes...The building has not yet been built...We shall see if they are going to build to Florida Building codes...They also told me that I didn't read the fine print at the bottom of the contract stating that they could change the total cost of the building at their discretion...If the building is not built to the Florida Building codes (which they are totally aware of), or if they decide to charge me more than the contract indicates, then I will take legal action...This is not the way to conduct business...
rv cover
On July 6 2011 we ordered A RV Cover from these people. We were told it would take two - four weeks for installation. IT is now going on nine weeks, they have scheduled to install two different times and did not show up or call either time. My husband had to take off work to meet the installers since property is out of town and kept locked up. Round trip to where it is to be installed is 250 miles. We have made two trips for nothing. All they want to say is we are working on it. All they have done so far is take our down payment and LIED. I will never do buisness with this company again.
Carolina Carports Inc., Dobson NC sold storage to my family in TN still no install. so they have them in a coulpe states trying to sale there buildings and things. will never buy from the agin. just want what we payed for please.
i have a storage unit that they have not installed and i payed 7 months ago
i asked for side door and they want to give me a back door now
can i get what i payed for and not what they want to give me
i fill your pain on the install bought mines 7-12-11 it's 11-15-11 now they say the end of month.
late inbstallation
I ordered a carport to use as a picnic shelter 6/25/10 knowing I was having a large party on 7/10/10. I really did not think it would be there by then but that was no problem. It would be there for future gatherings. I was shocked and excited when Carolina Carports called one week later and said it would be installed 7/6/10. I had to get excavators in to dig a level spot in my yard in a hurry but it was worth the hassle to get everything done in time for my party. On 7/5/10 Carolina Carports called and informed me that their truck had been involved in an accident and all the material was damaged and they would have to reschedule for 7/9/10. I felt so bad and asked if anyone was injured and was told they didn't have any information except the material was damaged. OK so 7/9 would be cutting it close but we would deal with it. Afterall, there was an accident and accidents happen. On 7/8/10, I received a call from C.C. telling me that their truck broke down in West Virginia [I live in Pennsylvania] and delivery would be rescheduled for 7/13. Now I'm upset, I've got a great big muddy hole in my yard and 200 people coming in 2 days. I ask if they can't get another truck or something and I'm told all the material was damaged and it all has to go back to North Carolina. How does material get damaged when a truck breaks down? Does this sound fishy? Had they told me in the first place that it wouldn't be there until later in July, that would have been fine. I wouldn't have had a hole dug in my yard. How much you want to bet it won't be here on the 13th either? I would never recomend this company to anyone. I am very disappointed. I really think they told me it would be here so fast so I didn't cancel my order. WHAT A HASSLE!
P.S. I also had to take off 2 days work to be here when it was supposed to be delivered. I have the kind of job that requires me to schedule days off ahead of time.

They erected a large RVport for me on time and professionally last May. I since ordered additional work - to close in the sides of the building. This was estimated to be less that an hour's work. That was three months ago. I have called 10 or 12 times for scheduling. Everyone I speak to tell me "next week" but the schedule is never met. This was originally promised in four weeks. We are now at twelve weeks. I am hold on the phone with them as I write this for the umpteenth time. I was just told that they will call me back. That is the second such promise today. They never call back. Avoid this company at all costs. I've found that their product is good and the workmen that came last Spring were polite, quick and professional. But now I have seen the other side of the story.
sorry, mistake above, its an 18 x 24, not 18 x 20 garage
i beleive it, these people are not a trust worthy company, there warranty STINKS, they put a 18 x 20 garage up for me, IT LEAKED FROM DAY ONE, these clowns after calling 4 times still have not came back to repair it, i live in fombell, pa. 16123, the customer service is RUDE AT BEST, told me 4-6 weeks to come back, WHERE ARE YOU, you STILL HAVE NOT COME, i filed a complaint with the BBB, do not BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE or you will be sorry.
poor installation & customer service
Delivery was on time, construction of the building was 4.5 inches off. The roof line on the side of building was nearly 5 inches off, I contacted CC and 2 weeks later they are sending someone out to correct the problems. (I hope they show up.)
