Where do I begin?
Maybe I should just state it as it is that I am overwhelmed! I have lived at Burnside appartments for 4 years May 01 2009. I was an employee at one point of time responsible for general
security of the building and light maintance. Now I find my self being forced out by an order of possession
and asking my self what the hell just happened. In or around December 2008 and January 2008 I with held rent as I was pretty upset with Nacel who would not repair my suite. I had exhausted all other measures including going to the Residential Teanancy branch 3 or 4 different times and my applicatations were but dimissed I needed repairs to my suite done and Nacel just told me "We are sending someone by to take a look at it should be by thursday." It never happens when they say someone is going to come by to get the repairs done.
I just got so sick and tired of being ignored and was fed up so I with held money from rent, that was a stupid idea Nacel got an order of posession of my suite and I am being forced to move. I felt at the time my actions were justified I wanted Nacel to fix my celing and was promised other repairs of my suite would get done and waited months even years for them to act. I wanted Nacel to check my suite for mold since my celing was in bad shape from the water damage, like my celing has craks it is falling appart. No I shouldn't have with held rent I was just really upset and of all the Nerve Nacel increased my rent so now it is $800.00 it really just makes me so angry. At the moment as I said I am being forced out of my suite by order of possession and it is hard for me to move with three cats as I am sure anyone with a cat or dog knows it can be hard finding a place.
Now I am being forced to live in a dump and the repairs in my suite still aren't done. I am exhausted and an emotional wrek becuase of this ### my father tried to get Nacel to let me stay longer and Nacel agreed I can stay until the 25 I got the message after the fact I put down a damage deposit on a place. I owe money yet
at the same time I paid $750.00 for the month of Febuary 2008 I have had rude coments like why didn't I just paid the money because I felt that my actions were justified at the time my suite is in really poor conditon and I dont feel I should have to pay the rent I am paying but what ever the Residental Branch didn't help, I was at my wits end and if that was how Nacel was going to treat me then they can stick it, I mean why should I have to put up with this. I wanted to say here when I was an employee things were ok then Nacel served me an eviction notice back ins September of 2008 when Nacel owed me money from work I told them to check there records and within 2 weeks of fighting with head office I recived a check which was above the amount they said I owed them. I belive that why should anyone have to put up with being treated like ### when you want repairs done and why should anyone have to live in un healthy or poor conditions. Finally when I put this complaint to Nacel they said I accepted the conditions of my suite when I signed the rental agreement."
The Water damage wasn't like this when I moved in and so I guess I have to accept the fact that I have mold.
It is just to much for me to Fathum I tried to make a mends with this situation but it is just not possible.
I tried to fight because I belive as a tenant I have rights apparently not and just to let anyone know dont with hold money based on the fact you need reapairs done in your suite even for emergency repairs you must file through abritration or you will end up ### out of luck like me! We wished we had seen this great Website prior to renting in this unscrupulous building called the Beresford @ 1221 Homer St. The Management company actively advertised the suite for one price but when it came time to sign the paperwork, they arbitrarily changed the price stating it was a "mistake" and, by that time, our moving arrangements were already underway. No amends were ever made despite winning a binding arbitration with the Residential Tenancy Branch so our advice would be to steer clear of this company with such a bad reputation in the city as the complaints are many and they are true!
Terrible experience
Pit Bulls living in Westland. This should not be aloud the are very aggressive and it is a family complex with young children running around yelling and screaming. I feel it is just a matter of time before something happens. These dogs should have room to play and run not be locked and chained up all day long. Dogs that aggressive shouldn't be in public.
From April to June, there were several pitt bull attacks in Surrey.
I agree that there should not be a pit bull living in an appartment like at burnside apaprtments
I worry about that to so far the dog hasnt bothered me, the concern is for the kids in the building. I just get mad at Nacel why don't you get rid of the dogs who ### everywhere as owners wont clean up and leave alone like force me out for having my cats here after three years? There have not been any complaints against me and yet there are complaints against this pitbul, l and dont do anything about the owner like force me out but not him? I think Nacel needs to get a grip like let a pitbull in an appartment building? Moreover there are other dog owners here in this building and what the hell thisis just force the other pet owners out of this building not just me thankyou very much it is just bull ###!

I started renting at 517 Blue Mountain Street back in July 2007. The first few months went smoothly, I was happy with my one bedroom apartment. It was a bit rundown, but I did my best to make it comfortable. The problems began in December 2007. I paid my rent on time, but received a letter under my door December 12th stating that I was past due and needed to get up to date. I contacted my landlord, left a voicemail. I contacted Nacel Properties, left a voicemail. The next day I discovered that the lanlord had went on holidays and had failed to record my $850 into the deposit book. Fair enough, we all make mistakes. I let it slide. Then on February 4th, I found an eviction notice on my door. I was stunned. I had left my rent under the office door which is an acceptable practice in this building. It turns out my landlord had lost my rent in his car. This made me uncomfortable to say the least. A couple weeks later I contacted him to repair my oven, dishwasher and toilet. Three weeks later, the repairs haven't been taken care of. He won't return my calls, nor will Nacel Properties, Saturday night, I had friends over for dinner and attempted to heat up some garlic bread. I couldn't turn the oven off for about 45 minutes. So dangerous! So, I'm fed up. I gave notice today for May 1st, nearly two months notice. Beware!
terrible management
carport is ready to collapse, chunks of cement are falling on my car, allowed a big black dog here, my last count was 21 piles of dog crap, beside the side door, roof in carport is leaking very badly, beside the lights on the ceiling, manager pretends she lives here and she doesn't , the manager does not show tenent where the garbage bins are, so there is garbage in stairwells, dirty diapers and all, she told the cleaning lady that she was responsible for the yard cleaning, needless to say she is busy cleaning units not yards, i have written the manager a letter and she simply ignored me, she is never in the office, also cigarette butts are tossed off the balcony and we have big pine trees, in the summer it is very dry and a fire hazzard, does not screen people she rents to, two bullets were shot in the hallway and ended up in my closet, anything i can do?

I moved into this building in the summer time and out less than 6 months later. The day I was moving in water started leaking through the walls in the kitchen. The landlord never properly addressed the situation stating it was a pipe that burst and that was it. Nothing in the suite was looked at to determine the amount of mold the property contained. ...

I too had problems with Nacel. It was nearly impossible to have repairs attended to, I did not have a contact # for the landlord and head office would never return my calls. In addition, there were so many drug addicts in the building, the poilce attended nearly every other day. Bad situation.
