Manufactured home defects
Water heater wasn't hooked up so area flooded when water was turned on...had to buy hoses. Dishwasher leaked and tech repaired. Cabinets are coming apart. Door trim coming off because of shoddy work. Water heater runs out of hot water too quickly. Water heater had bad upper thermostat. Wall outlets and light switches installed crooked screws missing the wood not attached to wall or cabinet. This is a 2021 model built during covid 19 lockdown. Must not have any Quality Control.
Desired outcome: Replace water heater and repair defects.
Employee discrimination and hostile environment
Employees are being verbally abused by supervisors on a daily basis. The supervisors do not care about quality of homes. The employees are being pushed to their limits and being bullied. Threatening their jobs. Supervisors are verbally threatening to hurt the employees. They want quantity and not caring about the quality. Supervisors are ganging on and...

3-4 months after moving into a brand new manufactured doublewide home, I complained about the floor being warped in several areas. They came out but didn't know what had caused it, so never replaced the floors nor offered a solution. I contacted them again a few months later and they sent someone else, but he didn't find a solution and still didn't offer to replace the floor. I finally found an outside company to come in and appraise the situation, which has now gotten worse. They said there is moisture build between the vinyl flooring and the underneath barrier which keeps it between the two floors. This moisture has caused the floor boards to warp. It is now in all the living room, kitchen, laundry room, dining room, master bedroom and master bathroom. I tried hiring a lawyer, but they still didn't repair it. I have called them several times and havent gotten any response. The warping happened within 6 months of the home being delivered to my land. I can't believe they have not responded. This is definitely their error. The outside company he sees it a lot in new homes where the a/c vents are in the ceiling, because they don't properly seal the a/c chase where it is connected to the floor. I just want them to fix it and make sure it doesn't happen again. What is there problem? I think it happened because they built the home in only 10 days.
Desired outcome: FIX THE FLOOR AND STOP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN
Odd that I have the exact same problem. I bought my brand new home in 2019, I have hired an attorney because my floors are literally caving in. They are trying to say that I wet mop the floors and that is the cause. Yet, my roof is also leaking and the house has mold. Every single crack they fixed upon delivering has come back.
Dishwasher not hookup and lumps in carpet
The dishwasher plug was not removed from the disposal water all over the floor. Lumps in the carpet where they didn't remove material when laying carpet. The cabinet in the master bath has an edge broken.
Modular home
I have a 2020 champion home. It was set on foundation in December 2019. We didn't close until September. It took the sub contractors 5 different times to get everything done to my satisfaction but it's still not right.
The foundation only is the outer and 6 pillars in the middle where the marriage wall is. This is resulting in a 5 lb dog running and the floor shakes. A human walks it feels like you are about to shake out of your chair.
I also had 5 windows replaced and sliding door. One door is 5/8" out of plumb as we speak.
Would not recommend these clowns to anyone! No communication. No phone number to call.
Roof / home
I have not even been able to move into my new home yet nor has my bank issued any payment to the dealer, river lake homes. The home has 4 roof leaks the structure is completely terrible and no one seems to be bothered by this. I have been trying for a month to get a contractor to come and look at the home, have gotten no where. I have been speaking to...

I have been trying since I moved in my new manufactured home in December to get my air uptake unit fixed. I have called Champion homes on several occasions because there were so many things wrong with my home. Unfortunately the problem with the air conditioning has not been fixed. The two people who came out said they saw nothing wrong and when I mentioned that there were no vents in the door to the unit they took the door and cut a square hole in the door and put a vent on it. That was it no testing of the unit and no checking the temperature. Right now my house is reading 88 degrees when the thermostat is set at 78 degree. I have never seen such bad service like this ever.
A mess throughout home
Well let's see, roof came apart, water leaks through the house, floor crashing in, counters warped (took 8 months to get fixed. When I asked when the would be done, I was told when when I get them), when they did fix them, the put faucet back on wrong, laundry room outside door would not stay shut, water leak in there. Underneath kitchen counter came away from the wall. Siding breaking, water pipes not done right, gutters were put on wrong. Walls and light plates cracking, plugs coming out of walls, outside light not put in right, had to replace 3 faucets, the walls are not straight. We keplep finding new things, that are not done right.
Working there
As employee there when built homes the use sheet rock and mud meaning joint compound to cover up the mess that was not fit or legal to have as home...there was about 2 in every ten we built there was wall that didnt even have stud or what we call it a backer ...because they want fix it the wall buildets and foreman was to scared to tell them to fix they just have us put one screw on the top and one in the bottom...that is somebody home i would say but nobody care if earthquake what have occured the chances of that walling falling and hurting or even KILL WHERE GREATER ALL BECAUSE CHAMPION HOMES WHERE TO LAZY TO PUT SUPPORT ON THAT WALL
The construction of my mobile home
I live in Texas and lost my mobile home in the Harvey flood. I went through direct factor expo to purchase a Champion home and downsized from a 3 br 16 by 80 to a 1br 16 by forty. I paid cash for it and they knew my situation of being homeless. A contract was written and my home would be ready in February. That never happened and it would be sometimes in March. I was angry because I gave the cash in November 2017. I went and talked to an attorney and she and I had a 3 way conversation with the manager. We were told by the manager at the beginning of March that my mobile home would be on my property by March 17th. The mobile home is adorable but someone didn't do a good job. At the end on March we had heavy rain and the roof started leaking, the vanity in bath was coming away from the wall and the stripping around ceiling started coming off. Someone from Champion came out and fixed theses problems I thought. We had more rain and the roof is still leaking along with the walls sweating in my kitchen and I find water all over my stove as if I had no ventilation and now there is mold and mildew in my living room window sill. I have only been in my home for 3 months and I am having awful problems. I did turn this in and was set up for someone to come fix problems but this time no one showed up. What is going on with my mobile home? Thank you Carolyn Deaton Beaumont Texas [protected]

I have been looking for a quality made manufactured home and thought champion was what I was looking for. I have found they do not provide price sheets for a basic manufactured(or modular) home to the dealers. You ask the dealer, they contact the factory representative through email, then you wait and you wait, and u wait! just to get a basic price. They do not provide a 800 # contact number for customer relations. Or a number at all. Well if they can’t trust their own dealers with a price sheet, then why should we trust the dealer either? At this point, I have now read these bad reviews and now don’t trust the plants manufacturing . If I had a problem with a dealer not getting problems fixed, there would be no one to call since they do not give a contact number for the main person in charge or even a complaint line. I am frustrated after waiting 3 days for just a base price and do not trust this company any longer.
Modular home
Purchased and have had nothing but problems! Roof leaks and ceiling has fallen in. Almost all appliances have had to be replaced and the A/C- heating unit went out shortly after a year. Dealer never sent anyone out to make repairs and dealer is now out of business (wonder why) Rain comes in through sliding glass door! Floor is uneven and doors and windows are not level! Had I read the reviews before we bought this home we would have definitely looked elsewhere! Cheap junk at high prices and contractors are mediocre at best! Very very disappointed and will never recommend Champion! The photos included are just a few!
Entire company
Champion homes are made cheap, the materials are lower end, the workmanship is like a two year made the house. The floors are made of cheap particle board, but they give it a fancy name.the furance is the low end of the model scale, and the hot water heater is only fit for the size of a dog house. The people are liars abd scam artist.Stay away from any company that has champion, s name on it.And the owners of champion are a bunch of money hungry cockroaches.First champion does not want to resolve this and or talk, why because they have no real documention to back up anything they say, just made up forged phoney documents and people that lie all the way to their paycheck fro this worthless company and the phony people that work there. They will even get other people in other companies in the manufactured home industry to lie with and for them. They will tell you that they built you a brand new home in the factory, but in fact it is a rehab manufacturer's trade show model and a retailers model display home, and champion working with the thrid party inspection company will phony up a certificate of origin, Ask them to produce the documention on how they shipped the house to you and they will cry it was not us but the trucking company, you mean starfleet trucking which you own champion. And when you tell them that their are no shipping records from any state between the factory and the place where you live, they will make up all the fairy tales they can.Other thing that this bunch of liars like to do is tell peopel that they champion does not ave to follow federal laws or even state laws.Lke with the illegal phony vin/serial numbers you like to put when you do put them on the front beams of the trailers, you know champion according to federal law they are to be cold die stamped not welded on, and the year of of the house /model year is in the 10th digital poistion, you know champion, the number 6 stands for the year 2006, not the year 2008, That right you champion are the only trailer product builder that does not have to follow 49 cfr title 565 and title 566 in the entire country and even in thw world, WRONG, you do have to follow the Vin number system.Champion why in the year 2010 when you were going through your lets not pay the companies and people we owe money to lets declare bankrupty, that when the all the companies around the world that follow the vin number system changed over from numbers in the 10th digital poistion of the 17 digital vin number, and went back to letters in the 10th digital poistion, you know the letter A which stands for the year of build 2010, that you champion also started using the letter A in that poistion the same year.I can write a novel about this worthless company that should of be put out of business lets see your double talk in reply, have already seen your double talk reply from your in house mail order lawyer, and when somebody challenges you, how easy it is not to pick up the phone or call back, or start to get real pretend i am mad so i can hang up on you, or try to come across as you think you know what you are talking about, and or pretending to try to come across as what you are saying is the truth, when champion and not one of the people that work there would know the truth if it hit them .
Repair of a master bathroom cabinet and vanity
I originally contacted champion homes on sept 1st 2017 to have a cabinet and vanity replaced due to a plumbing leak. We purchased the house November 5th 2016. I have yet to have the correct cabinet fixed. It's now December 22nd and still no repair has been done they sent a contractor to fix it and every time there has been an issue as to why the contractor cannot fix it. It's the worse service I have ever experienced in my life all I want is the vanity and cabinet replaced in bathroom. I don't understand why they send a contractor who doesn't bring another worker to do the work? And when the contractor finally brought the correct cabinet is was damaged. The contractor asked us to say it was the wrong color so he doesn't get in trouble? What kind of contractors do they have doing the work? I'm waiting for a response from the customer service dept as to why it's taking over two months to replace a vanity and bathroom cabinet which was caused by a leak in plumbing that the original contractor they hired who installed the plumbing did wrong by never gluing the pvc together?
The whole mobile home 1999 model
I purchased this home in 2000 I've had nothing but problems. The roof had to be replaced, the heat and air, this is the second time the floors are falling through. The doors have had to be replaced. It's been a nightmare. I have COPD and RA I'm a divorce disable woman. I live off of $ 733.00 a month I have been told there's black mold now. I don't know what I'm going to do. I prayfully hope to hear some good news from this company. From reading all these other post I'm not the first to complain. I'm going to seek the help of and attorney in this matter. I don't know how a company could get by with so many complaints, and lies that were make on how well this home was supposed to have been made. I live in Alabama I don't know where it was made
Sub par product
I purchased a manufactured home from a local dealer in June of 2015. The home was delivered to the dealer site in August 2015. It was not what I ordered. The builder didn't bother to do any of the changes I'd made. The 2nd home was delivered in Oct. 2015. They had put it together so fast that the workmanship was shoddy. I've had to call them for repairs 15 different times because the contractors either didn't have the materials to fix all the issues or because they made more problems while there. The roof leaked during the first heavy rain. My floors had to be replaced because they gouged the linoleum in several spots during the build. My year of warranty is now up and the furnace is now having issues.
DO NOT BUY FROM CHAMPION HOMES! IT LOOKS NICE BUT IT IS SHODDY WORKMANSHIP.

This is a notification to everyone who has construction complaint against Champion Homes Builders
I am in touch with a class action law firm. I do not know the result yet as to their interest in pursuing an action against the company, but I will keep everyone up to date.
Please keep this in mind for anyone looking for a class action
1. Class actions can be brought by anyone.
2. Class actions are generally brought on a Contingency Basis, which means, the attorneys are paid out of any settlement or judgment. The person bringing the action is not personally responsible for the costs and fees of the attorney
3. A class can be represented by one person and the class can include only a few individuals.
4. If your damages are significant a class action may not be the best option for you, since class actions do not usually result in significant awards to the consumer. A private action may be better, so please contact consumer attorneys or construction defect attorneys to explore all of your option.
This is for all consumers that have a Champion Built Manufactured Homes, regardless of the year.
We are the victims of FRAUD and you may be also. Please read this very carefully.
We were to receive a Brand New built 2008. We have a rehabbed seriously defective 2006 rehabbed home.
Our VIN/serial number is a fake. This is illegal it is a crime. As a result I do not have legal ownership in my home. As well the bank does not have a valid loan or a lien.
We are looking for other victims!
This is what you need to do.
If you can get under your home, please go to your front beam and look at and write down your VIN number. Also, please take photos.
If your VIN number starts with 210, it is not a valid VIN.
Also look at the tenth (10) digit of your serial/VIN. This number is reflects the true year of manufacture for your home. For example: if the tenth digit is 6 your home was manufactured in 2006.
If you have a doublewide or a triplewide your numbers should match exactly. One side should end in A the other B, on a double, on a triple they should be A, B, C - following the numbers, which, again, must match exactly.
If your tenth digit is a letter then it falls under the new system and we can verify it for you.
If your home is supposed to have been built in 2008, the tenth digit should be an 8.
Your title states the VIN number and the year, they should match exactly, In other words if the year is stated as 2008 The VIN should be an 8. Any discrepancy and you have a problem.
If you have a loan on this home, you need to find an attorney, but good luck since we have been looking for 5 years.

Horrible product
Have had our brand new champion home for a little over a year now, it has been an absolutely miserable experience from the start. To begin with, counters were seperating in the kitchen and bathrooms from water damage (not sealed properly). Roof had a ton of cracks in it. Under all cabinets where pipes come in (sinks, tub) there was about an inch extra space...

Homes are not properly checked for plumbing, and interior finish from the factory before transportation to job site.! * First, POOR hanging of doors, especially exterior doors to units. Had to adjust, readjust, re-hang and then have the factory come out and re-hang all the doors to get them to properly close. * Had to make several calls to finally get...

I own a 2001 Champion Modular Home in Macomb, Michigan. I purchased the home in July of 2008. Over the winter I was having problems with shingles coming off of the roof. I had a roofer (actually a neighbor) come out and replace shingles on the home at least three (3) times. He told me the first time he went up there that I needed a new roof, that the shingles had been put on the home with staples, and that they were not the proper staples. In early Spring I noticed a spot on my ceiling that was not there before & had someone come out. He came over and agreed that I had a leak and went on the roof to repair it. In the last week or so, in Michigan, we have had alot of rain. Last Thursday, June 18th, we had a long day of rain & I had water coming into the house again. This time it was coming from a light in my foyer. Once again, my roof is leaking. Right now, I have a large tarp on my roof to keep the water out and I am in the process of receiving quotes for a new roof because it absolutly has to be replaced. My home is only eight (8) years old and it should not need a new roof. I called Allstate Insurance Company to see if I could claim it on my homeowners insurance. After reviewing my file, they said that "no, your home is only eight (8) years old and should not need a new roof." They will only cover damage to the inside of my home due to water damage. They told me that I should not need a new one at this time and I needed to contact the Manufacturer of my home. Needless to say, I am very upset about this situation and would like to inqure on how I can file a claim with Champion. I can be reached on my cell phone at any time [protected], my e-mail address is: [protected]@hotmail.com

We bought a new champion Moble home in 2019 and in 2021 a lot of shingles blew off so I called champion and they said it was a act of god and they didn’t cover it but they went ahead and came to put the shingles back Then the next storm more shingles blew off and again they called it a act of god and refused to fix it so now we have to fix it on our own. I want to sue them for the 7,000 to fix our roof. Terrible service and cheaply made.
2 years and needs new roof rotten shingles, no help from dealer or champion homes
I have a Champion Modular built in 2007 and purchased new by me in 2008.
When shingles came off my roof during a storm this past week I went up to put a tarp on the roof and saw that there was NO roofing felt under the shingles. Now I may be a jack of all trades and master of none but I know you have to use roofing felt. My husband and I shingled our own roof in CA and made sure to use roofing felt. I even use it on my chicken coops. I have contacted Champion and if they do not replace the roof and the damaged wood sheeting they will be in another lawsuit.
New home defects
Premier homes sold house with cheap flooring instead of osb or plywood as told they would/foundation is wrong/water leaks throughout house/walls/floors separating. floors entirely warped throughout house. windows not squared screens pop out/no heat and air to back half of house/now none at all/loose neutral/major electrical problems/mold in house around doors and windows/in process of 'arbitration'/absolutely a nightmare/but won't give up.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Bought in 2006 brand new double wide we’ve had nothing but problems the home is damn near condemned at this point. All the floors have crumbled and need replaced the ceiling has leaked several times and all the walls are messed up cheapest material ever
we got this little house. it has a lot of nails in trim the walls had places that looked like got wet and raised up , some trim was coming off so the just took a staple gun and hit it about 10 times in a 6 inches .her are pictures.
We bought a new double wide Moble home from Champion in December of 2018 we moved in on September 3 2019, not only did they over charge us, because we had all the permits, electrical, and septic already on the property, when we signed the contract with them they brought the cost of permits at around 100, 000 dollars but I explained those were already paid and in. He said that they had to have it in the loan but we would get the over payment back at closing escrow. That didn’t happen and the salesman no longer works there so they would not do anything, so they charged us over 120, 000 just to put it on our property. If that wasn’t enough within 15 months a third of my roof blew off. When I called them they said that it must have been a act of God, yeah right but they did come and repair it. But within a few months it happened again and they are now telling me that again it was a act of god and they refused to correct it even though no one around us had any damage, now we have water damage on our ceiling. Which goes with the problems with our electricity in our kitchen which flips off when we plug in our can opener, plus so much more. If anyone can let me know if anyone has a way to make them pay. By the way we live in sunny California so it’s not like we have bad weather.
All the contents you mentioned in post is too good and can be very useful. I will keep it in mind, thanks for sharing the information keep updating, looking forward for more posts. Thanks deck builder newport beach
My poor 90 year old Mom just closed on this brand new piece of crap Aug 20, 2019 and moved in Sept 1. Bad workmanship all the way. Shower doors that leak(took them out myself re-tiled) and put up a curtain), closet doors full of splinters and fall off the railing(replaced at my own cost, no help from manufacturer or sleazy seller), kitchen outlets not working, cracks coming back, squeaky floors, non functional medicine cabinet, and the absolute worst appliances ever. Have already had to have service on the crappy washer twice (brand new, used successfully 3 times)...not to mention the sewer backing up because the fools had a bolt going through the sewer line. The list goes on and on! I'm hoping we can unload this albatross before it falls apart completely and have Mom find something reliable. As for me, I would live in a used refrigerator box before spending 50K + on crap like this!
We should all come together and get a class action lawsuit against quality homes if you agree and email at championclassactionlawsuit@gmail.com something needs to be done with this and I’m supporting this they should be sued for this

They mane the email protected but here it is here
I bought a home from them in February of 2019 and have electrical problems and the floor is warping and nobody has done nothing about it I called the seller and nothing got done and I called the manufacturer and still nothing done so I called my own electrician to find out I have a lot of problems I have wires hanging out and can’t use but one small appliances at one time if you use more than one it blows a fuse and it also blew my tv and garbage disposal also
I have sent you and email. Please tell me you are still watching that email box.
Our new home has cracks on cracks floor creaks and told im sol
not great workmanship
My parents purchased a champion home in June of 2018- was finally delivered in November of 2018-Champion Homes took longer than quoted for manufacturing, so much so my father did not live to ever see it completed or move in. My mother is not living there because she is gravely ill and the dust from any type of texture work will aggravate her condition, yet we continue to pay the mortgage and space rent on something she cant move into until everything is corrected.
Immediately upon walking into the unit we discovered numerous defects and shabby workmanship, not to mention all the defects on the exterior
- Uneven texture throughout the entire home. huge holes around the light switches, trowel marks, clumps, divots, uneven walls and ceilings-
- Electrical outlets that do not work, light that does not work, missing GFI sockets
- toilets were loose and rocking-
- every towel & toilet paper fixture installed unevenly
- Sconces in master bathroom were supposed to be installed centered over the basins and they are not
- paid for the upgraded cabinetry throughout the house to be slow close- they either dont close, are uneven or slam shut
- paid for upgraded "trays" in living room and bedrooms only to have cracks, unpainted
- canister lighting is not flush with ceilings and there are gaps, some don't work
- cracks everywhere in the house, corners, ceilings, windows, crack in ceiling that goes from kitchen into living room
- baseboards were never painted - they simply have the primer on them- this is throughout the house everywhere including window casings with primer
- tile work in the kitchen grout is done poorly and has bubbles and missing grout
-creaky floor boards
- When they painted the outside of the home the painters got spray everywhere including on the upgraded deck they paid for the front porch
- they did not paint the fencing on the front porch or the steps to the side entrance
We have tried calling Champion numerous times to the issues resolved only for them to tell us send a list or call the distributor that sold it to my parents. They say their homes are built with the highest of quality and according to HUD - and that the homes do not leave them without being inspected (inspector must be blind or off that day)
The distributor says to call the manufacturer and vise versa- I even had the so called service manager from Champion homes and his assistant yell at me like this is all my fault that I want them to fix their substandard shoddy work. They told me if i didn't like their response to file a report with HUD - how is that for customer service? They don't even try to help or say they will work with us to get it fixed.
My next complaint will be to HUD, Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs and anyone else I can file a complaint with until this matter is resolved to the standard we were sold on in the model. I wished we had seen all the complaints on this site before they had purchased, we would have persuaded them not to buy this poor quality, poor workmanship unit.
I moved into a new home on 2-1-2019 in Texas City, TX. I have sent multiple lists of repairs that need to be done. I have only heard once from the person who I sent the lists to and still no date has been set up to make any repairs. I am very disappointed in the construction of the home.
