CheapOair flight/illegal hotel booking

I bought a tickets from website never wanted the hotels as staying with family
Using the credit card used for tickets charged 3000 dollars from the credit card to booked the hotels for some random dates with wrong destination
Said there website fault never returned my money
I have to lodge a complaint with consumer affairs
This website is a scram
Never put your credit card details
It's a total ripoff
Customer service is very poor

CheapOair bereavement policy a fraud

My experience with Cheapoair is really bad. There policies are just fraud to attract customers...

Cheapoair's bereavement policy...seems like a joke. Having changed my ticket because of death in the family in May just a day before my travel, the cheapoair rep told me that I could claim a refund in a few days after producing the death certificate.

I initiated the request for refund with them within a couple of days of my travel on getting the certificate from the government authorities. Cheapoair asked me to produce the death certificate and my ID proof which I duly did as soon as possible. But cheapoair does not seem to care to respond to my request now. After months of wait and repeated status check requests ...now they have sent the below reply

"We apologize for the inconvenience that may have been caused to you. We would like to inform you that as per the records of the airlines and the feedback received from the airlines, you have already changed the tickets and used them. Hence, no refund would be possible."

Does this make any sense?

Why is there such a policy if it is not to be observed?

CheapOair this company is a scam! do not purchase your tickets from them!

We booked a flight to Florida but jetblue cancelled the flights and cheapoair committed to refund the amount for selecting seats. When I called them to check why it wasn't refunded, I was told that it is more than 74 hours and now they won't refund it. Worst service ever. Do not book your tickets from them. Their agents have no clue what they are doing. Never booking anything from them again and will recommend the same to everyone.

CheapOair customer service

I need to change my flight of leaving date (original leaving date is Sep 21 2017 ) wanted change to Sep 25. but I cannot get contact them! on live chat someone on hold and never got any answers on 20min! not saying anything! if someone answers here but so rude and unprofessional! I tried call on phone but no answers for over a hour! I am so frustrated with this site! I thinking open chargeback claim! never. never use this site again.

CheapOair fraud

I booked a ticket for my father from Miami to New York. Unfortunately, I put a wrong data and wanted to change it. Well I thought it often happens and would be no problem for them to correct my mistake. I found out that only cheapoair could do it, not the airlines. Took me 30 minutes to reach them. They transferred me from one department to another during 40 minutes, most of the time I was on hold. When finally one of them did me a favor and listened to me, I was said that changing the spelling is not for free. About eighty dollars! How wild is that? Are you crazy out there?
Horrible and too expensive.

CheapOair canceling a ticket

Purchased 3 tickets from airline. When viewing different prices it is doe snot show that there are date changes when clicking on different prices. I saw a cheaper priced ticket and booked it. When I received my confirmation noticed the date was incorrect. I immediately called and asked to cancel the tickets I was told they couldn't without a $50 fee per ticket I said I was not going to pay and wanted to speak to a supervisor they placed me on hold and never came back to the line. I called back and spoke to a different person and she said she would send me cancellation info I advised her again that I would not be paying the fee she placed me on hold and she never cam back. I called again and the last rep said she would have a sup call me and cancel with no fee. I received a call next day at 1:37 called back immediately and spoke to 5 different people who did not help me. I was told I was going to receives call but I never received open I called back today and spoke to four people and still nothing. I have currently been on the phone for an hour and 20 mins and have been on hold for over 30 mins with no rep coming on the line. Finally Winfred a supervisor came on the line he said that he would cancel it. I asked for a cancellation email and he said I didn't need one to use the confirmation code number for the flight. everyone was also rude and not helpful

CheapOair clueless/ careless representatives

Dear cheapoair:

This is marius petre suceveanu and olga uzun.

As a first time customer of yours i’m writing in regards to a more than distasteful experience I had with your company.
I booked a flight on wed, jul 26, 2017 for my father, romulus petru suceveanu and my mother, zoita suceveanu, from bucharest, romania to
Las vegas, usa for the date of 10/09 with the return date for 10/31 october 2017. I misspelled one letter on my father middle name petre
Instead of petru and went to your website to correct it. It would not allow me to do so there, so I made a phone call
To your company trying to correct it. Mind you, the flight was over 2 months at the time of the booking and a delta airlines representative explained us
That a misspelled name correction up to 3 letters is not a issue, but we’ll come later on to that.
The amount of time that day spent to do so exceeded 10 hours, being passed around by the customer service department
From one representative to another. The first representative would tell me I would have to cancel the reservation and book one more time
So we do so. Due to his lack of experience, both my parents tickets are cancelled and then rebooked on a different flight.
He’s doing the whole booking and we pay accordingly, $2188 for the tickets, but now he’s telling me we have $964.59 + $964.59 in air credit to

Not in customer service/care departments but in the whole wide world. It might be by the name of rory, I am not 100 % sure.
The person is telling us that for us, and only for us (Since we’re so important) he will refund to whole amount $2188.00 we spent
2 hours prior to this conversation. Just like that!. So it’s in his powers to use the air credit but only for my mother,
And only for an additional $378 fee. So for my father we had to buy another ticket for the amount of around $1218, 15, telling us all the time
He’s saving us money.
My wife is trying to have a conversation with him and he’s cutting her off all the time.
He’s not telling that within 24 hours from the purchase, you can just cancel the tickets for a $75 / person fee.
So we’re inquiring about my father’s air credit and why we cannot use that for this $1218., 15 transaction, so he’s telling us
Because of the misspelled name the air credit can be used only by my mother. This conversation we have is 3 hours and 2 minutes.
So at this time we’re $964.59 air credit + $ 378, 00 fee for my mother + $150, 00 fee for the tickets being cancelled + $253.56 extra for the
New ticket for my father, because the ticket prices went up during this conversation. My wife she’s all in tears by this time after spending
Time on the phone with american express calling us every 10 minutes to ask us what’s going on with all the charges being made for the same purpose.
So, as a precaution on their side, they locked our accounts, not being able to use it for a week for any type of transaction.
More than frustrated with the whole experience, my wife she’s calling customer service department again.
Finally, a knowledgeable person, donna. She’s telling us that the air credit we’re having cannot be used by my mother, but can be used only my
My father since it’s actually under his name. She’s advising us to call delta airlines and ask for help.
So the person from delta airlines is explaining us it not be a problem in changing a name for up to 3 letters and cheapoair had to use the air credit
Without any issues whatsoever.
Ok, so we’re calling back, again, cheapoair customer service department. We’re explaining the representative we just had a conversation with
Delta airlines. So chepoair is cancelling again my father's ticket and now, voila, they can use now the air credit. Just like that.
But with a $378 fee!
As for the references, the booking no. Were : [protected], [protected], [protected].
As of today, 08/10/2017 the e-tickets are still listed as pending on our booking. One representative, 2 weeks ago was able to pull it out and he told me the numbers,
But they’re not on the actual file to be printed. The lady i’m talking with right now, adelyn, is telling me my father’s name is still wrong in the booking/data base!
54 minutes into the conversation, being passed between cheapoair departments, malcolm, who seems to understand us, is telling us for the first time we have to send
A fax to [protected] with my parents passports! This was a action that was supposed to happen at the very beginning of all the conversations we had with the cheapoair representatives after finding out the misspelled letter and nobody would tell us so until this conversation.
So now i’m really confused! What for we paid $856 and so much time if nobody did actually nothing?
Ok, next lady malcolm passed us to, her name is gya, she is a supervisor and now she’s on the line with delta airlines. She just told us if we want to make the change in letter we would have to pay $50.
This is unheard off! I’m not appalled now, i’m just furious! We spent all the money and all the time from july 31 just for someone to tell us no changes were ever made!
So everything was supposed to take 10 minutes of our time and $50 degenerated in this.
This conversation is 2 hours and 56 minutes.
Funny, my wife’s amex just got charged by cheapoair with $378.?!
So now we are short of $378, 00 fee for my mother + $378, 00 fee for my father + $! 00, 00 fee for the first refund.
We’re also short 10 hours, spending our days off with breakdowns and tears and my wife she cannot sleep the whole night because of the stress so
She’s not able to get to work the next day because of the incompetence of cheapoair employees (donna and malcolm exempted).
During the whole time spent on the conversation with different cheapoair representatives we felt fooled. We cannot understand how we got to
The point in spending 10 hours of our life for something that minor?.
How come one person was able to use the air credit in 15 minutes (the last conversation we had with a representative) and the other ones were
Not able to do so 9 hours and 45 minutes? Are the representatives of your company clueless? It sure does feel this way.

We had the feeling the representatives are making their wages or bonuses from this types of operations.

We felt the representatives are not given the proper training.

We felt nobody wanted to help us to use the air credit and it was done only when we started pushing for answers.

This is not the 18th century anymore where people are getting thrown away and ridiculed and fooled on their own time and money and nerves.

It’s now mon, aug 28. Gya was supposed to call me back or send me an email regarding the whole situation we had. Nothing.

We want the amount of $856 ($378 + $378 + $100) we were charge for no reason whatsoever.in the meantime I will keep posting this message all over the media i'm having access to (Websites, blogs, complaint boards, news channels) so other people won't get affected and offended by the complete lack of courtesy, respect and knowledge of the situation of the cheapoair representatives.
Attached, just 2 print screens of the lengthy conversations we had with cheapoair representatives leading to nothing whatsoever.

Update as 10/04 Mr Albion Stone, the supervisor who was probably in charge with our complaint, took care of us, hence the complaint above should not be considered as an attitude/description towards the way the company is treating/dealing with customers, but rather as a mere attention mark when you're booking your tickets.

This is Marius with a short update: as of today, 09/19/2017 Mr.Albion Stone, as a supervisor for CheapoAir company, refunded us most of the money. We're still waiting on a $360 refund. If you want to settle a dispute, he might be the supervisor you'd like to have a conversation with. I'll keep everyone posted once I'll have the last refund.

I had a very bad experience of interacting with one of your support representative. My flight from toronto to paris was scheduled for today 26-aug-2017 at 7:35 pm. I received two reminders one for the original flight and one for toronto to istanbul departing at 4:45 pm. I was confused as to why I have received two reminders on the same date and wanted to confirm what is the correct departure time and flight.

The support representative was very smug, rude and condescending in giving the information. I asked him to connect me to the supervisor and he said that to speak to the supervisor I have to hold 35 minutes. Which sounded very ridiculous.in anger I cut the line.

I would have let this whole incidence go but what happened next was too much to ignore. I received a call from the person from the number +[protected] and he tried to bad mouth me. Instead of getting into a cursing match I cut the line again.

After this incidence I will think twice before booking my tickets from cheap o air. If this is how you treat your customer.

Please investigate and let me know what action have you taken.

CheapOair against using this company

What they provide is extremely expensive. They charge huge amounts for everything. If you something interesting don't book through them. It's better to use airlines website.
If you need to cancel your ticket within 24 hours, you won't pay anything if it's a normal company. But not CheapOair.
If you want to book a room from them be prepared to pay more than usual because their fees are large.
I don't recommend this.

CheapOair over charging for changes

I made reservations to fly to Denver, CO over this coming Thanksgiving (2017). I used CheapOair. Immediately after I got my confirmation I realized that there was an error on the date. I called them to have this changed. I was told this change would cost me $132.80. Or for $100.00 I could cancel the trip. I bit and had them change it. Then when I got the next confirmation I noticed that my boyfriends last name was incorrect. I needed an "N" at the end of his name, not a "C". I called them again. This time it would cost me an extra $72.80 for them to change this. I was then ready to just forget it. Now I was told that I would only get a credit from them. I took the hit again. This time when my confirmation came again my status had changed from female to male and my boyfriend was now female. I had the proof this time. Amazingly they did not try to charge me when I mentioned this. I suspect that what they are doing is not only unethical, but illegal. I will NEVER use them again and if others have gone through this we need our voices to be heard. I think this is going on all the time, and who is to say that the errors are being done on purpose by Cheapoair? As I said I have proof of one error they tried to pull. We need a class action suit against them.

CheapOair cancellation fee

I booked 3 airline tickets with CheapOair on aug 9, 2017 and had to make a cancellation due to an itinerary change. I requested the cancellation within approximately 5 hours after booking online. The company charges a $75 fee per ticket for a total of $225. It was my understanding that current regulations allow for cancellation with 24 hours without penalty which is the policy with priceline.com and the airline companies. I did not see anything on the cheapOair website prior to my purchase to indicate fee for cancellation/change. I am requesting a FULL refund of the $225 which I feel is an excess amount considering my cancelation was well within an acceptable time.

CheapOair return connecting flight seats not confirmed

Booked tickets on Nov 26th, 2016 and travel dates are June 14th from IAD (Dallas-USA) to Hyderabad (India) via AUH (Abu Dhabi) & return journey was on Aug 9th same route. Travelers were Mom and two kids.
While in return journey, they were not given boarding passes from Hyd (India) to AUH (Abu Dhabi), but no boarding passes were given for onward journey i.e. from AUH to IAD (Dallas, USA). When traveler questioned the airlines which was (ETIHAD), they said that they will adjust the seats in Abu Dhabi, if required they will do free upgrade. When people reached Abu Dhabi, Etihad men said that no seats are available and they just put the travelers in a hotel. I got no communication what so ever from CheapOair and when i chatted with CheapOair customer support person Mr. Renaldo, he said that they will send all communication at least 24 hrs. before flight departure if there is any change to registered phone & email id. I am in USA and have not received any communication as such and he washed off his hands by saying, "Now tickets are confirmed for Aug 10th, and airlines offered free hotel stay"
CheapOair just washed off their hands by taking their cut from the payment 8 months in advance of travel and have no courtesy or any professional ethics what so ever...

Seat selection is an "optional service". It is not mandatory to select seats. if that was so, my ticket booking should have never been successful.

Seriously! You mean that we have to book seats to travel. This is news to me. If that is so, then why the hell did purchase of tickets completed successfully on your website? If that was a pre-requisite, then you should have not billed me for incomplete details. I entered all information while booking tickets and got confirmation of booking. Later is called your help desk to request specific meals which was updated on my itinerary, but now you say that seat booking if a must to travel. Talk something which makes sense!

CheapOair customer service

Hello,
I have been a loyal customer with Cheapoair for many years. I have some business trips I need to take next month, so I logged into their website to book two international and two domestic flights within the USA. I need to travel from Hong Kong to New York to Florida to Los Angeles and then back to China.

While booking my flights, I made a mistake with one of the dates. I booked my trip from Florida to LAX on the wrong day. I noticed my mistake minutes after receiving the confirmation email, so I called the customer service line for assistance. The person on the phone was pretty rude, and the first thing he did was put me on hold for 5 minutes before even taking any of my information. He informed me that there was a $50 fee to cancel my reservation and there would be a $50 fee to change my reservation. I was a bit confused by this because I remember having problems with a previous booking, and the customer service representatives were able to assist me in making the changes at no charge.

I asked the rep to explain if the policy had recently changed, and he was rude and hastily transfered me over to a cancellation department. I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes for this person to tell me the same thing. Frustrated I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor. He offered to make the change for $39 instead of the $50, and said he would offer me a $50 credit which could be used for future travel. He put me on hold, and when he came back on the line he started adding the words "up to" in front of the $50. When asked for clarification on what this meant, he got very rude with me, so I told him not to make any changes.

In total I spoke with 3 reps on the phone and one online. I had a horrible experience with all of them. They showed no sympathy for any of my issues and seemed more concerned about getting me off the line instead of helping me understand why I was being charged extra. I used to work in customer service, so I know that being rude or raising my voice doesn't do anything to help my situation, so I know that the level of service I received was not in response to my berating or raising my voice to anyone.

I really used to love this company because of the cheap rates and the service I received before with any issues I had during the booking process. I am really disappointed in how I was treated. All I did was click the wrong date on the website, and I had to spend hours trying to fix the mistake.

I finally relented and called back to make the change in my ticket. The rep on the phone said he would make the change for $35. He would charge $15 immediately and then I would see the other $20 charge in a few days. He promised a voucher for up to $50 would be sent out to me in a few days.

I made the change and the booking was confirmed. I waited a few days for the discount coupon. I had another trip scheduled, so I figured I'd use the promotional code for the new flight. I didn't receive the code, so I emailed CheapOair about the promised code. They sent me two reply emails that made no sense and did not contain any codes. It almost feels like there is no oversight whatsoever in their offices because of how disorganized they are now.

I finally got the promotional code, and when I typed it in it did not work. I emailed them again about this issue and they forwarded me to a page which explained that the promotional code was valid as a discount for their Travel Assist service. I would have to purchase the $30 travel assist feature to qualify for $10 in savings. So after all I went through being promised this promo code by two different reps, the promo code was a complete lie.

I'm not interested in doing business with a company like this. Their customer service reps need to be trained on how to be polite to customers and not to mislead customers just to get them off the line. Whatever changes you have made in the company have made it a lot worse to work with. All the good-will I had for this company has now been lost. The customer service has been outsourced to the lowest bidder, and they seem to care very little about the level of quality anymore. You see that they received a customer service award in 2014, but not anything since.

CheapOair refund disaster and poor customer service

During the Month of February I purchased two airlines tickets valued at 1100 from New York to London. Unfortunately, my aunt who was my travel companion and who I live with passed away two days before we can travel. Two days prior I contacted cheapoair about her illness and inability to fly I was told by the Customer representative that I will be given a refund due to medical reasons I had to provide death certificates. Its been six months and cheapoair has not settle my case. They said my refund request was denied, yet when I contacted virgin atlantic and spoke to their supervisor they said that they did approve the refund and cheapoair was told to refund me. Yet cheapoair is stating otherwise. Virgin atlantic also said that cheapoair does this to hundred of customers, state that they are checking into the refund and then state that the airline rejected it. I was told countless times by virgin they approved it and that I should file a complaint. Cheapoair should not be allowed to operate in the US. This is not right, you cant do this to your customers especially individuals who experience a loss in the family. They are frauds and I will never use this company and I used them alot. Stay away from this company they dont care about their customers and are fraudulent. Their customer service is poor they either hang up or transfer you and some customer reps even laugh at you and tell you outright lies. I hate this company everyone I meet and every rally I go to I tell my elected representatives about banning this company to operate in the US.

CheapOair non-refunded "refund processed" ticket

On May 29, I purchased a ticket to Lima from CheapOair. I immediately cancelled the flight (within the 24 hour window and paying the hidden $75 cancellation fee). I was OK with paying the fee (despite feeling misled about having to pay it and how much it would cost). Upon cancellation, I was told that my refund would take up to 2 weeks to process, so I didn't think anything of it when I hadn't received a reimbursement for a while. It is now July 2 and I still have not received my ticket reimbursement (approx. $1500!). I did receive the $42 service fee reimbursement from CheapOair, however, so I know it is not a problem with my bank in this regard. What is the problem? This is unacceptable. To make matters worse, I chatted online with a customer service rep who gave me the run around about the refund having been processed but not giving any reason as to why I didn't receive it. Then I was told to call a +1 212 number for billing. When I did, they gave me the same message as the online rep and told me to call a +1 845 billing department number. When I asked why there are 3 different booking department numbers (the one on my confirmation email is +1 888), there was no comprehensible response, simply "the number I gave you (+1 845) is the one I'm told to give you when you want to talk to billing". Seriously? Just refund my money already! I won't be booking with CheapOair ever again and I will make sure all my family and friends avoid them as well.

CheapOair buyer beware of cheapoair! company is deceptive! ripoff!

Buyer Beware of CheapOair! This company is deceptive! I booked two roundtrips with CheapOair, thinking that I could cancel without a fee penalty within 24-hours like other companies offer. However, in tiny print, practically hidden, at the very bottom of the purchase page, it says reservation changes involve a fee. In order to find out what the fees are, you must go to go the Home page, scroll to the very bottom of the page to click on "Taxes and Fees, " also in tiny print.
If this company was open and honest, they would place a warning next to the purchase button, alerting customers that ANY changes in their reservation will be charged a fee. I was charge $100 or $50 per ticket to cancel my reservation within 24-hours. I was forced to agree to pay $100 or CheapOair will NOT cancel the reservation. Please do yourself a favor and book directly with the airlines. You will save money (CheapOair charges a sales commission) and you can make any changes within 24-hours for free.

CheapOair undisclosed cancellation fee within 24 hours of booking

On 6/12/17, I tried to book a flight from SeaTac to Lisbon, Portugal. I found a very cheap "super saver" fare on CheapO, which gave the approximate departure and arrival times, but no other information. It did not give the airline name, or the layover cities or times. I did not save the original page, but I can do the same search again, with similar results, and I see that it says rather prominently at the top of the page "24 hour cancellation". Seeing this, and having always experienced that a 24 hour cancellation was free, I decided to take a chance and book the flight. Once I did, and saw the flight layover times, I became concerned that one of the layovers might be too short to assure getting through customs if the flight arrived late, while another was a nearly 9 hour layover, and I could not choose my seats. I decided to cancel. I called to cancel and was only then told that there was a $75 charge to cancel. Worse, I had to pay the cancellation charge immediately, while the refund of my fare would take anywhere from a few days to weeks. When I asked where I should have seen this cancellation policy, the operator directed me to a link to the company's legal policies buried on the home page.

I feel this was entirely deceptive, and I would like a refund of the cancellation fee.

Almost exactly the same thing happened to me today. I booked the super saver flight. If you mouse over the super saver it tells you that within 4 hours you get a FULL refund. No questions asked. When I tried to cancel 20 minutes later they tried to charge me 75 dollars per flight (215 total). When I pointed out the refund disclaimer they said, yes we will give you a full refund for the flight but the booking fee is different and we will not refund that, that is our 24 hour policy, which you should have read by the way (it doesn't say anything about that at the 4 hour disclaimer). So their 24 hour "policy" trumps their 4 hour disclaimer for a special case (the super saver), where essentially you don't know what you are getting until after payment. I did get a full refund. It wasn't pretty. I had to go through 3 guys from customer support (hung up on number 2, there should be some nice transcripts of that one) until I ended up with a supervisor who finally gave me my refund. I was an hour on the phone with them and I'm pretty sure they are instructed to behave like that...

This company is a crook. Their agents try to steal our money as much as they can. I try to change the flight time within 24 hours of purchased. They quoted me more than $300 pp to change the time. He said that the fee was from the airline not from them. He just try to help me. I asked about cancellation, the agent told me that I have to pay $ 350 pp. He told me it's a new policy. $75 cancellation fee is for less than 4 hours. I told him I don't want to do it. He cut the exchanged fee to $150 pp. I hangup and called the airline directly, the airline said that they do not charge anything to cancel within 24 hours. The airline was unable to cancel because i bought it with the third party. In the meantime, the same agent from Cheapoair keep on calling me to negotiate the exchange the ticket. He called me maybe more than 20 times in few hours. It's obvious that it's a big profit for them to change the tickets within 24 hr. Later on, I also found out that the agent was lie about the cancellation fee too. The best thing is to avoid dealing with this company. They are not honest.

CheapOair refusing to refund cost of tickets that were paid for twice

On 7/22/2015 I purchased online (3) air tickets. I received no confirmation of the purchase. I called Cheap and they had no record either. I was told to call their business in Conn. that handled the transactions, they also said no purchase had been made. The next day I bought (3) more Identical tickets. My credit card statement showed (6) tickets ordered and paid for. I have tried numerous times to get this resolved via telephone calls to their support staff overseas(?). Intermingled with cancer and operations and radiation therapy the time has past by. Now just last month I was told there is an international law that states no refund of tickets after one year. Could you please resolve this costly mishap (over $1100.00) owed to me. Included below is copy of my credit card statement showing the duplicating charges

CheapOair cancellation fee

When I contacted Cheapoair and asked them to cancel my ticket they asked me to pay a cancellation fee which was $100! I never heard anything about that and even when I contacted them before I bought my ticket and asked about extra hidden fees they said there were no extra fees!
They lied to me in the first place!
I had no other option and paid $100 and I will never use them again. I also will warn people I know not to buy from Cheapoair. I don't mind extra fees but it would be a lot better if that information would be available to all customers!
