Really bad management, I won't refer nobody to this place
Really bad management, I won't refer nobody to this place.
They are legally thieves, they charge you so much and the service is bad
They are legally thieves, they charge you so much and the service is bad. I paid $210 for an oil change for my Prius.
I went to Chicago Northside Toyota for an oil change
I went to Chicago Northside Toyota for an oil change. When I returned to my car, I noticed that the side box was open and it looked messy. I suspected that some money was missing from there. It seems like someone stole the money from my car. I spoke to the management about this issue, but they didn't respond to me for quite some time. This has happened to me multiple times before.
Complete scam
Complete scam. The service department here completely misled me about repairs my car "needed," and tried to talk me into $4,000 worth of repairs. Went to a more honest, independent mechanic and had some of the same work done for like $500. (Some of the work CNT said I needed wasn't even necessary.) Horrible, dishonest people.
This place is a total rip-off. The service department totally lied to me about the repairs my car "needed," and tried to convince me to spend a whopping $4,000 on repairs. I decided to get a second opinion from a trustworthy, independent mechanic and guess what? I got some of the same work done for a mere $500. Can you believe it? And to top it off, some of the repairs that Chicago Northside Toyota claimed were necessary weren't even needed. These people are just awful, plain and simple.
We had a horrible experience buying a car here
We had a horrible experience buying a car here. I wouldn't recommend it. They added things to the final bill that we never talked about. Yeah, we did sign the agreement (like they would say), but they were sneaky about how they explained what we were signing. Learn from us! Always read everything! Don't come here, but if you do...be careful with VIN etch and AIP (Auto Interior Protection) fees.
Used to be business-like if expensive
Used to be business-like if expensive. Recently tried ordering new wheel covers for my 2012 RAV4 and made three trips expecting to pick them up. Left to wait for clerk approx *** minutes each time, then got someone polite but unable to find covers in catalog. Problem? My car is on cusp between models and has the older style wheels. How did I find out? Using Amazon online catalog. Found 4 covers for less than Toyota wanted to charge for one, and with free delivery. Will I go back to CNT? Not on your life. I found them remote, uninterested, poorly organized, undermanned and very, very incompetent. Can't help thinking that their disconnection had something to do with my advanced age. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
I bought a Toyota Corolla and paid their price
I bought a Toyota Corolla and paid their price. We agreed that the registration papers needed to be sent to ***, and it took them 45 days to send it. The check for registration was not right when sent to DMV ***. I called and emailed on two separate occasions and they promised to have the check sent, but until now, 3 months later, still no check. I called today to speak to the Finance agent and no call back. Very bad customer service. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM. ALSO, I brought my Toyota Camry a while back to have the auto windows changed and they charged $500 plus. After 3 days, the windows don't work again. They informed me that the warranty doesn't include the new problem. I asked a mechanic friend to check it, and he found out that the window was not changed and they sprayed dirt on the connectors of the motors. We bought a $.99 spray cleaner and now the window is no longer stuck. Save your hard-earned money and DON'T even think of thinking to do business with Chicago Northside Toyota.
I had a really bad experience with the Toyota showroom manager and the Toyota employee I've been dealing with for the past 3 days, from 07/21
I had a really bad experience with the Toyota showroom manager and the Toyota employee I've been dealing with for the past 3 days, from 07/21 to 07/23. We were discussing a used car and getting all the paperwork ready to make the purchase. Toyota approved a credit of $3000, and I planned to pay the rest with cash and my credit card. The Toyota manager and employee agreed that this was okay. We completed all the paperwork, and then suddenly the Toyota employee informed me that they couldn't accept the credit card because of some policy that Toyota has. I have no idea what this policy is, but the Toyota employee and manager changed their minds and told me to bring 50% of the payment in cash because the management doesn't accept credit cards. I'm really upset and I don't appreciate what they did to me. I've been saying for the past 3 days that I would be paying with cash and credit card, and the manager said it was fine. But now they've changed their minds and are asking for cash for the used car. I will not recommend anyone to go to the Toyota showroom. Please share this message.
I bought my first car here (2017 Toyota) in 11 and I regret the purchase for these reasons: The car
I bought my first car here (2017 Toyota) in 11 and I regret the purchase for these reasons: The car had mismatched tires from different brands. One tire deflated within 2 months, necessitating a replacement. The trunk and back seat were littered with broken glass, which I overlooked initially. The condition was unacceptable. The back seats, designated for my children, were in a disappointing state. The pre-sale inspection or cleaning was subpar. My inquiries via email go unanswered. After dashboard warning lights appeared, I sought assistance. The agent's immediate response was a repair quote of $348 without a proper diagnosis. Conversely, other service centers inspected the car for free. They identified a tire with cupping issues and premature wear on the rear strut, given the car's mileage. I regret choosing this dealership and advise others to steer clear.
I bought my first Toyota from this dealership and I've regretted it ever since
I bought my first Toyota from this dealership and I've regretted it ever since. The salesman, ***, gave me a lot of wrong information. He promised things that didn't even exist, like a tow-hitch that works with the *** and kick-gate technology. But once I drove the car off the lot, things got worse. *** called to say the vehicle I wanted was in, and I confirmed the details with him on the phone. But when I got to the dealership, the vehicle wasn't there, even though I confirmed it with *** beforehand. I left, but eventually decided I still wanted the vehicle even without the ***. They told me the *** had a new tow-hitch that would allow for the kick gate functionality, which was a new feature. They said the tow-hitch was backordered but would be in soon. This was one of the main reasons I chose the ***. *** called to say the add-ons were ready and I could bring the car in for installation. They estimated it would take 2-3 hours, but I ended up waiting for over 4 hours. When I finally approached the car, it hadn't been washed and the floor mats were installed over debris on the floorboard. The car hadn't been detailed at all. They just threw the floor mats in without doing anything. *** (*** Manager) asked me to bring the car in the next day for detailing, which was estimated to take an hour, but I waited for over 2 hours. *** called to say the tow-hitch was back in stock. I gave *** my *** card, but after charging it, he told me the tow-hitch would eliminate the kick gate technology, even though I was told it wouldn't. I asked for the charge to be reversed, and it was. I asked to speak to a manager and spoke with ***. I told *** about everything that had happened. He said he would escalate it to a manager and got *** involved. I told *** that my remote start only worked 10% of the time. She sent *** to my home to look at it, and he said the key fob wasn't reaching the car correctly. He told me to go to the window, press the key fob just right, and watch for the lights to come on the car. But I had to not use the auto light function of the car to see the lights when using the remote start. He kept saying the key fob was working, just not well. *** called to talk about the tow-hitch and said she would research the details and call me back, but she never did. I went to the dealership with a certified check from my bank to pay for the vehicle, but the cashier told me to just mail it to Toyota Financial and they refused the check. I spoke with *** and she apologized for not calling about the hitch. I asked to speak to a manager of the sales department to discuss my experience, and she said she would get someone from the tower. I waited for the manager, and when he finally came, I told him about everything I've mentioned here. He got tired of listening and said he had other customers waiting, asking me what I wanted. I got up to leave, and he told me to be ignorant. I asked him to repeat himself, and he said it again, telling me to be ignorant with him. He asked me what I wanted him to do, and I said nothing and walked away. Later, I texted *** to ask for the manager's name, and *** told me it's ***. Don't be foolish and avoid doing business with this dealership.
This place is terrible, avoid it at all costs
This place is terrible, avoid it at all costs. Every person there is shady, they don't return your calls, and they try to scam you in any way they can. The car I came to see was supposed to have one owner and no accidents, but as soon as the salesman brought it down, I saw a huge gash in the back hatch. I asked about the accidents, and he said there were no reported ones. Then, when I tried to open the hatch, the handle fell off and the door open light stayed on. The A/C controls inside were also broken. It was very misleading, but I had driven four hours and wanted to make a deal, so I stayed. While negotiating, I agreed with the salesman to pay $171 per month. But when I went to the finance office, the price suddenly went up to $174 per month because of taxes. I just wanted to leave after spending three hours there, so I agreed. Two days later, the finance guy called me to sign a new contract because he messed up the taxes. There were also repairs that needed to be done before I could take the car home. They promised to finish them that day, but they weren't done. The next day, they still weren't done. They guaranteed it would be ready by Wednesday, but it wasn't. On Friday morning, they called to say they didn't have the parts and it wouldn't be ready until Monday. I don't know if I'll ever get the car or if they're just giving me the runaround. I haven't heard from them since buying the car, I always have to reach out for information. Edit: It's now Monday and they decided not to keep their promises to fix the A/C knobs, the dent, and give it to me at the agreed price. When I questioned them, the Sales Manager talked down to me and threatened to tear up my contract. She said I could take it or leave it, or she would sell it to someone else. Everyone there is condescending and will try to screw you over. Get everything in writing before agreeing to anything, but honestly, don't ever go to this place.

I went to Chicago Northside Toyota to get my car serviced, but when I got it back, I noticed some issues
I went to Chicago Northside Toyota to get my car serviced, but when I got it back, I noticed some issues. The window was loose and the AC wasn't working. I need them to fix my car window and AC, or at least pay for the repairs. There might be other charges as well because of the AC problem.
Sleazy car dealership with horrible service and lying salespeople
Sleazy car dealership with horrible service and lying salespeople. DON'T USE THIS DEALERSHIP! *** was my salesman who lied to me every step of the way. He lied about features and capabilities of the vehicle, lied about financing, lied about service. Then the Sales Manager ***, who was too busy and rushed because he "had other people waiting," called me "ignorant." I now have anxiety attacks getting into my brand new car. I don't feel comfortable taking my car there for service, and there's no recourse for any justice of how I've been treated. Toyota Corporate was no help either. One year later, my car still has issues. I've had my car in for service 9 times in 1 year.
On 11/18, I brought my car to Toyota Northside 'cause it wouldn't start
On 11/18, I brought my car to Toyota Northside 'cause it wouldn't start. They did this inspection thingy for $175.99 and told me I needed over $3,000 of repairs. But here's the thing, they straight up lied on that inspection. They said my filters were BLACK, my engine was leaking oil, ball joints leaking grease, exhaust was broken, and all that jazz. I called them out on it, and they got all rude and snobby. So, I took my car to another Toyota dealer, and let me tell ya, it was like night and day. The service advisors there were super professional. They did their inspection and guess what? Everything was fine! Turns out, the other dealer was just making up problems. At the new place, I only had to pay $360 for the actual work my car needed. Can you believe it?

I went to Chicago Northside Toyota on 2/18/22 for a regular 50K service on my car
I went to Chicago Northside Toyota on 2/18/22 for a regular 50K service on my car. They ended up flushing the coolant and changing the transmission oil before it was necessary, which resulted in extra charges. These services were not listed as part of the standard maintenance intervals, but the service technician made it seem like they were. I did some research and confirmed that these services are not normally required at this stage. I'm disappointed with the unethical guidance I received from the service representative (***/555) and I would like a refund for the unnecessary work. The R/O Open Date was 2/18/22 and the RO Number is 6117684/3. They charged me $249.99 for the coolant change and flush, and $354.29 for the transmission flush. The standard service intervals mentioned in the online service manual were much higher in terms of actual mileage, and I also confirmed with the Toyota of *** service technician *** (where I bought and previously serviced my vehicle) that these services were done prematurely.
I bought a 2021 Toyota Sienna in July and had an issue with the dealership.
I bought a 2021 Toyota Sienna in early July and worked with a car salesman who did a good job. To finance the vehicle, I collaborated with the dealership's finance department. On the day of purchase, I was erroneously charged an extra $200 for VIN etching. The dealership acknowledged the error and promised a refund. Due to a road trip, I couldn't return immediately to sign papers. They assured me a check by month's end, but I've yet to receive it. When I inquired on 8/23, I received excuses and no clear resolution. I'm still trying to get my refund.
I bought a 2017 Yaris iA in May with mileage of 34,841
I bought a 2017 Yaris iA in May with mileage of 34,841. I took it in on April 12 for my 2nd service (tire rotation and oil change). Richard said that we would also be doing a brake fluid flush ($199) and fuel injection cleaning ($199). When he told me the total would be $509, I was surprised. He said that it was due to the 30,000 mileage. I said that the car already had 30,000 when I bought it. I went ahead with the plan. Richard did give me a $50 reduction, but that just covered tax. When I got home, I discovered that those procedures don't appear in the maintenance schedule. I felt duped. I called Service Mgr. Kristi on 4/15 and she said it was preventive, but I should've been able to make an informed decision. She told me she wanted to do something for me. I told her maybe the brakes I would've considered, but I wanted a refund for the fuel injection cleaning. I didn't hear back from her in almost a week, so I emailed her on 4/21 to follow up. I still haven't gotten a reply.
I bought a car from Chicago Northside Toyota
I bought a car from Chicago Northside Toyota. It's a used car and the front windshield is cracked. Before buying it, I asked the dealership for an "I owe you" so that we could finalize the deal. They gave me the "I owe you" and said they would let me know when I could bring the car in for service. I also asked for a loaner car and they said they would get back to me when they had one available. After I bought the car, I didn't hear anything from them, so I called them two weeks later. The salesperson told me they weren't sure when they could provide a loaner car. I told them I didn't want to wait more than 30 days for the service mentioned in the "I owe you" agreement. The salesperson said not to worry, I still had time. But even after trying multiple times and making notes on my account, the dealership won't keep their end of the agreement. These are shady business practices that trick customers into making bad deals.
On 4/30/2022, we gave Chicago Northside Toyota a $1,000 down-payment for a brand-new 2022 RAV4 Hybrid XLE
On 4/30/2022, we gave Chicago Northside Toyota a $1,000 down-payment for a brand-new 2022 RAV4 Hybrid XLE. They promised to deliver it within 2 months. We have the receipt and quote as proof. They told us in an email that the car with VIN *** got damaged during transportation, but they didn't give us a tracking number. We want a tracking number for the damaged car so we can find out where our car is. They offered us a $1,000 refund, but that's not what we wanted. We booked this specific car in advance for a reason. We're starting to think they sold it to someone else. It's hard to believe that there's no tracking information for a big shipment like a new car. We want the tracking information for the car we booked with that VIN number right away, and we want the car delivered to our house as a priority.
I bought a new 2022 Toyota Venza from Chicago Northside Toyota on May 12, 2022
I bought a new 2022 Toyota Venza from Chicago Northside Toyota on May 12, 2022. It's been about 6 months, and I still haven't gotten my plates. I've tried reaching out to the dealership multiple times to finish the registration process, but it's still not done. Here's a timeline and some attachments for you to review. The General Manager of Northside Toyota has been CCed in every email since August 19, 2022. Thanks, AFM. Purchase: 05/12/2022. Inspection and insurance paperwork sent: 06/28/2022. Got an email saying the inspection paper was lost from the dealership: 08/02/2022. Second inspection done and sent: on 8/19/2022. Second inspection received: on 8/23/2022. Confirmation of receipt from the Dealership manager: 08/24/2022. Asked for a status update on 09/23/2022. Got a voice message saying they can't find the inspection for the 2nd time: 09/26/2022. Got a call from the manager saying they found the inspection paper and everything is good to go: 09/26/2022. Asked for another status update on 10/27/2022. The manager emailed saying he'll send me an update that day: 10/31/2022. Haven't heard anything from the dealership since then.
I bought a 2023 brand-new Toyota Camry SE from Northside Toyota on Saturday, August 20, 2023
I bought a 2023 brand-new Toyota Camry SE from Northside Toyota on Saturday, August 20, 2023. I made sure to get all the coverage just to be safe. I paid a lot of money for the car. But now, I'm really disappointed. The car keeps stopping while I'm driving, and it's only been 3 days since I bought it. When I went back on Thursday, August 25th to tell them about the problem, they didn't seem to care at all. Here are a few things that bothered me: 1. They said the car might have been programmed wrong, which is a big question mark. How can they sell cars without making sure they're safe to drive? 2. They said the car was grey, but they gave me a white one. 3. They wrote in the paperwork that the car had only 02 miles, but it actually had 300 miles. 4. I left my car with them on Wednesday, August 25th, and they promised to contact me within 24 hours. But they never called or emailed me. I think there's something seriously wrong with this car. I asked them to give me the car they promised me, the grey Toyota Camry SE with 02 miles, but they said they couldn't do that because all sales are final. I've lost all trust in them.
We bought a 2010 Certified Toyota Highlander from Northside in 2014
We bought a 2010 Certified Toyota Highlander from Northside in 2014. Recently, we tried to trade the car in at another Toyota dealer, but they said they couldn't take it because of potential odometer fraud on the Car Fax report. When we bought the car, nobody told us about any potential odometer problems, and they never showed us the Car Fax report or had us sign it. They just put it in with our paperwork without going over it with us. Since it was a Certified Toyota from a Toyota dealer, we didn't think there would be any issues with the car. The finance manager at North Side Toyota signed the odometer statement, confirming that there were no issues with the reading. I called North Side Toyota to try and resolve the problem with a manager named ***. He basically ignored us and said it wasn't their problem. He even insulted us by offering to buy the truck back for $8,000. North Side Toyota knowingly sold us this Certified vehicle, even though they knew it had odometer issues. We contacted their corporate office, Loqurcio Auto Group, and they connected us to North Side's G.M. We made an appointment for 6/11/22 to meet with the G.M. and discuss the CarFax report issue. But when we got there, they sent us to a sales manager instead. We never met the G.M. and they offered us a buy back of $9,000 or a trade-in of $10,000, which is way below the fair market value. The trade-in value for a 2010 Toyota Highlander with *** miles is $15,000 - $17,000. These vehicles are selling at CarMax with 110k miles for $20,998. We are asking North Side Toyota to do whatever it takes to resolve this issue to our satisfaction.
This complaint is because of bad lending tactics, bait and switches, and dishonest applications
This complaint is because of bad lending tactics, bait and switches, and dishonest applications. On 07/08, I came here alone to buy a used truck when the salesman lied about my credit application values to trick me into a car I couldn't afford. The car I wanted was not available even though I scheduled an appointment to see it, and it was listed as available online. He asked if I was interested in a new car and if I had a down payment. I told him I had brought 5k, but I didn't think I would get approved because I'm 22 and self-employed. I said we could check my credit to see what's going on. The associate asked for my information and entered it into a computer. Miraculously, I was approved. After I told them it was too much and I couldn't do it, and that I wanted to leave, they pressured me into buying the car. I struggled to make my payments for the next few months until I couldn't make them anymore. I reviewed my paperwork and realized I had been taken advantage of. I contacted the finance company to review my application, and the associate lied about my income. He said I had a 65k/year salary when I had told him I roughly make 2-2500 a month, but it's not all from my self-employment. He also lied and said I graduated from a 4-year university when I dropped out after 1 semester. Finally, they had doubled my time at my previous employers for my work history. I never gave anyone permission to lie on my application. I signed the document thinking that all the information was accurate and not fraudulent. Obviously, that was not the case. I went back to confront the dealer about this, and they bought the car back. But that doesn't account for my $5000 down payment and the 5 $800 monthly payments that I lost because of this company's fraudulent application. It's their problem because if they had entered the values I had told the associate instead of their fraudulent values, none of this would have happened.
I went to Chicago Northside Toyota on 6/7/22 to check out their cars
I went to Chicago Northside Toyota on 6/7/22 to check out their cars. I ended up trading in my 2015 car for a 2020 model. I paid $1k in cash as a deposit and later paid $3,700 for the down payment when I signed the agreement on 9/9/2022. I picked up the 2020 car on 9/14/22. Two weeks later, I met one of their employees in Priscilla's parking lot in Hillside between 4:30pm and 6pm. They contacted me and said they wanted to add some customizations to my car for free. On 10/16/2022, they gave me a white pickup truck to drive while they took my 2020 car to work on the customizations. The car had temporary plates on it. On 10/23/22, I asked if I could drive my 2015 car while they worked on the 2020 car because I didn't like driving the pickup truck. I returned the pickup truck on 10/24/22, but they told me the deal fell through because they hadn't paid the down payment for the 2020 car. I picked up my 2015 car from the dealership on 10/24/22. However, there are some things missing: a picture of my recently deceased grandmother, the plates they promised to replace, Weather Tech floor mats, and a toll pass that has been charged for tolls even though I don't have the pass. So far, they have paid me back some money: $500 on 10/17/2022, $375 on 10/22/2022, $375 on 11/1/2022, and $300 on 11/3/2022. On 11/16/22, someone named *** called me and said they might have to fire *** if the allegations are true. We were supposed to meet on 11/17, but *** called and said they found out *** did the same thing to another customer and they let him go. *** told me to file a police report for the missing items and to consider a civil suit against *** because they never actually sold me a car. They also mentioned a contract on a USB.
