Nonpayment from choice home warranty for all the jobs we contracted with them and completed when they said 30 days payment from their office.
Those 30 days turned into 45 days - still no payment.
We are now in 60 days - no payment.

I am very upset with CHW because they find various reasons to never pay for appliance repair or replacement as stated they will in the contract. This is FALSE ADVERTISING and a SCAM. I am quite sorry that I have paid out so much money for this fake warranty and depended on it to help out when appliances needed repair or replacement. I have made two claims that have been denied. The first was a hot water heater that leaked all over. I was told it wasn't covered because I didn't call them first before replacing it. Really? My basement was flooded from it and we needed hot water within a couple days. The second was my furnace which has a cracked heat exchanger. They refused to pay because it had, "a corrosive build up on the outer shell and rust which creates premature cracking." Really? Wow! Now I am without heat and it is 32 degrees outside. I"m so glad I wasted so much money on this FAKE WARRANTY COMPANY.

We contracted with Choice Home Warranty to perform plumbing repairs for their insured customers then they shut down our account and said they would hold our funds for 365 days, they also stated we would receive payment net 30 days which they did not do they are very nast people who are condescending to our company and they act like there's nothing anyone can do about it they think they are above the law. On 11 Dec 2018, I filed a Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint against Choice Home Warranty for failure to properly service my A/C system. The technician they sent was incompetent and failed to properly diagnose the problem. Choice, as a result of that technician's analysis, denied the claim and I had to hire another contractor to repair the system. Turns out the problem was only a 24 volt switch not a reversing value has the previous technician had diagnosed. The Choice technician had torn down my condensing unit and allowed all the Freon to leak out and Choice refused to compensate me for the cost of replacing the Freon. Choice did provide $200 after they originally denied the claim to quote "help cover the repair cost." Unfortunately the cost to fully restore the system was $763 far more than the $45 service fee Choice advertises. I filed a BBB to try to get them to comply with their contract but that was a futile effort. However within the Choice response to the BBB on Dec 12 2018 to the BBB complain was a phone number 1-800-816-2534 for Choice Home Warranty's "Retention Department" who I could supposedly call to terminate my contract, which has another 2 1/2 years to go. That number is bogus and switches from a survey for medical devices to "you have dialed a number that is not available in your area. The resolution I want for this complaint is termination of my contract and return of my prorated fee! I paid $1750 for a five year the contract leaving $875 remaining on the contract that should be reimbursed
repair a heating problem
on 12/30/18 I called Choice home warranty in regards to my heat not working. They sent a plumber out to look at it and it was diagnosed as needing a new motor. They submitted it to CHW and they were to order a new motor for me. I have called at least 7 times now and it is now a week later and I am still without heat in my home. The motor still has not been ordered. It's my 1st claim and I'm ready to cancel already. It is the middle of Winter it is 19゚ out and I'm sitting here with no heat.

The contract states net 30 on payment which is 30 calendar days not 30 business days which means due tho their violation they can not enforce any portion. I am still awaiting on my refund for repairs that you initially denied. This company is not very reputable at all. The incident occurred in late October 2018. My sump pump was not functionally, they sent an incompetent tech who did a poor job. Within a few weeks the system stopped working again. This time, however, part of my basement was flooding which resulted in mold formation.

CHW use service provider photos and interprets the service provider's assessment of the damage to exclude payments under the policy exceptions. Mainly, on home repairs with appliances or HVAC, or electrical items 10years aged. Most important when you get a policy you are not advised to review the policy exceptions which is critical nor or you given an option for service level coverage. Plainly put, they DENY payment on damage due to normal wear and tear, the inevitable. THIS CLAIM EXAMPLE, a recent microwave claim. The service provider stated the microwave was not heating because the metal was burned causing the megaton or mag to not heat and not reparable. The insurance determined that interior lining is damaged causing the microwave to arc. There is nothing in in writing about arc. The service provider told me it is not THE ARC, but subject to the policy interpretation which is “excluded” under section D number 9 terms and conditions. This happened on a previous claim May 2018 for the air conditioning where they denied claim payment due to rust. The service provider for the microwave also told me this type of damage happens to every other microwave which means they are not paying payable or claims or just not paying my claim. I NEVER RECEIVED AN INVOICE FROM THE SERVICE PROVIDER.
Same thing happed with my Air Conditioner which they called a furnace. Technician they sent out was incompetent and misdiagnosed the problem. Result they denied claim. I hired another contractor who fixed the problem, a 24 volt switch, but noticed the system was without Freon. Since they had serviced the system in June and it was still secured when they fixed the switch, the only reason there was no Freon was because the Choice Technician allowed it to leak out. Cost me $763 to have the system repaired for a repair that should have cost me a $45 service charge. I have fought with Choice for 2 month trying to get reimbursed but to no avail. Do not every hire this company!

I have been waiting for over a month for a part to come in for my dish washer, and each time I contact your customer services department, no one can tell me anything as to when the part is coming in. I was told one time that the part was order, and the next time it is back order, but you do not know when it is coming in. I need to know exactly when the part is coming, I do not even get a call from customer services letting know that you'll still waiting on the part. Today I call December 26th, and I disconnected, I call back the representative could not tell me anything, so I need to know when this part is coming in or can you order from another vendor.

On 12/2/2018 I called in a claim for my washer/dryer combo that had stopped working. a tech arrived and assessed the problem, and he told me that I would hear from Choice rep . A few days later, Choice sent me message online that they were reaching out to vendors. After days went by, I called Choice and was told that my claim would be submitted to a manager, and the manager would call me within 4 hours. I checked online to discover that my claim had been closed. I called again, and was told that my claim had been denied due to misuse/abuse, I bought the washer/dryer in 2000, so I don't see how that is the issue. The manager called, and told me that I could call another company to get a second opinion, and have that company notify them with their findings. Today is 12/12/2018 and I still don't have a washer/dryer to use. I want Choice to reconsider and fix/replace my washer/dryer combo. #[protected]

A/C quit working 9/18. Contact Choice and they sent out rep who stated unit unfixable. (claim #[protected]) Est cost of replacement around 8 to 9000. dollars. Choice refused to approve and would only pay $700. which was sent.
I called the A/C people at Home Depot who replace unit at a cost of $9200. with a pending $800. rebate from Home Depot.
My contract read that Choice would repair or REPLACE a/c unit which they have refused to pay other than the $700.
If I don't get repaid for this A/C unit as contract calls for, I will lodge complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Texas State department of consumer fraud.
My attorney suggested this one last request from us before other more aggressive actions be taken.
Who is organizing a class action suit? I would like to be included.

Yes, this company is really dishonest. They refused to replace my sump pump without giving me a satisfactory reason. So yes, please include me in any class action law suit as well. I will be taking some legal action at this time.

Sunday December 2, 8:35am. Filed claim. This has been assigned 3 times. Each time I called the company that was assigned and they declined the order. All 3 have had too many problems with non payment, under payment and just plain poor communication. It is now Sunday December 9, 8:35pm and I still have no heat. Claim # [protected]. I had a claim filed November 6 for the same problem but waited 5 days and when they didn't find someone to come out, I got pissed off enough to bang on a few things and get it working myself. All I get is excuses. Calling every day. Supervisor graciously offered to wave the $60 call fee. So generous.
I've gone more than a week now with no heat, in Wisconsin, in the winter, and all I get are excuses. Everyone this company tries to get refuses to work with them because they've been screwed on getting paid. This is the worst warranty company I've ever seen. They have their hands out to take your money but you're treated very poorly when it comes to using the warranty. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE! RUN! I SAY RUN AS FAST FROM THESE PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE!

on November 30th my heater stops heating I call and make a claim, they sent someone to check it out and the guy left by saying they will call back.
I received an email from Choice home warranty telling me that the unit was not well maintained therefore they will not cover it in fact I do have an invoice from an specialist that cleaned out the system on October 15th 2018 .
There was no way I could submit the document to show them that they are wrong, they took my apeal but never got back to me in the time frame they said they would.
My 85 years old handicap dad is sitting in the cold for several days now because Choice home warranty is not honoring their part of the contract.

A claim was submitted for a furnace that was not properly heating at 34 Graystone in North Barrington, Ill.on 13 Nov 2018. It was assigned to a Mr. Bijon @ 4 seasons air control on 14 Nov 2018. He came out 3 times trying to fix the furnace and finally said we needed a $450 control panel that CHW wouldn't pay for because he found a chipmunk. We paid him cash but the furnace still didn't work. With CHW deserting us and the threat of freezing pipes, we contacted Alltemp of Wacounda, Ill who came our said the furnace was cracked from overheating and leaking carbon monoxide. We could have died! They installed a new furnace for $3488 and we wished to be reimbursed

I get unwanted spam in my email. The sender tries to prevent blocking by disguising the subject and sender. Subject uses run-on words with a mixture of letter symbols to make it hard to filter. The Sender is a series of miscellaneous symbols and letters in random order that can be changed infinitely.
If you "unsubscribe" these scammers recognize that a connection has been made and sell your address to more scammers.

If you're in the market for a good home warranty, this is not it. I had American home Shield for about 10 years. However, I switched to Choice because they were offering a much better rate. Well, you get what you pay for. They have so many exclusions and they make it so impossible for technicians to complete work, that it's definitely not worth the savings that you supposedly get. AHS never needed prior approval before doing the work. Choice requires it. However, they don't have a special number for vendors to call so that the vendors can be on hold for up to two hours. Their customer service department it is abominable. I was hung up on twice by a man named Diego because I was upset that the vendor they sent never showed up and never called. I suggest you look into American home Shield instead of choice. It's definitely worth a few extra bucks

I am reaching out to get some assistance with a repair claim. I have contacted customer service, spoken to multiple case managers and paid $1, 440.00 in cash. I have uncovered wires showing, the thermostat off and system not working. I have a wife and four kids, the temperature outdoors is dropping by the day and I can't heat my home. If your contemplating a Home Warranty service steer clear of this company. I was a member of a competitor for 18 years and switched to Choice last year after the other company reduced coverage without reducing rates. It was definitely a mistake. Choice employs contractors that can't speak English and perform shoddy work. I have a refrigerator that has been under repair for more than two months. The first technician fixed part of the problem and said he could not get parts to complete the rest. Contacted Choice and they told me they worked with the contractor to order the part. Two weeks went by and nobody showed. Called Choice again and asked for a different technician which they sent out a week later. Technician two said he needed parts would get them ordered and contact me in 4 days to set up a return visit. It has now been two weeks and no phone call and a refrigerator still not completed. Just poor non customer focused service.
Currently we had a problem with losing our heat. Contacted Choice and a service call was scheduled for a week later. Technician came out and waited on the phone for approval to do the work for more than an hour. He said he was going to go buy the necessary part and come back and install while waiting for the return authorization. He did exactly that and just about the time he completed the work Choice called and refused to cover the work, citing a contract issue or authorization. So needless to say we had to pay for the work since it had already been done.
This company has issue with customer focus and employs less than dependable technicians. In my 18 years with the competitor never experienced this type of customer disregard. Think twice before choosing this company for your home warranty needs.
I chose 1 star because it is the lowest available. Choice HW does not merit even half a star. I was convinced to purchase a six-year contract for the price of five years and I did. Really stupid on my part. I filed a request for service 40 days later. In the course of cooking, our electrical system tripped and we lost power to an entire area of the kitchen and part of the adjoining dinning room. Every effort to reset the circuit breaker failed. I called CHW. They sent out a technician who came with another man. Exactly 57 minutes later, they packed up and on their way out, I had to ask them what the diagnosis or verdict was. They told me that any work requiring more than one hour would require authorization from CHW and they left. The next day, CHW had left an email telling me that I should review my contract and they pointed out that the contract does not include pulling wires and that my problem would require pulling wires. I was more confused now than when I called them. I took the time to get a clarification on what they can and cannot do. It became clear to me that I had made a $4, 000 mistake. I immediately requested to have the contract cancelled and the $980 just taken from my account returned. They only refunded $883 telling me that the rest was a cancellation fee.
Based on the comments on this site, I called American Home Protect, LLC and signed a 3-year contract.
After the normal 30 days, I filed for service on the same electrical system.
They sent out a technician called Phil Turner from AMS Electrical. Phil came with one of his workers. Phil is the owner of the company and prefers to get his hands dirty instead of sitting in the office issuing orders. Phil is an Electrical Engineer, not your regular off the mill technician. Phil and his assistant went to work, taking off ceiling tiles and checking how the system was set up. Suffice it to say that Phil, whom I now call Dr. Phil was able to detect a second electrical panel in the garage that we did not know existed. The primary panel was in the laundry room. My problem was diagnosed and fixed and per my contract, I gave them the required $65. Folks, if you live in Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills, Farmington and immediate surroundings and need electrical work of any size, call Phil and tell him the guy who named him Dr. Phil sent you. Dr. Phil doesn't work as if he is working for a home warranty company, he takes every job and puts his signature at the end. This is a man that you need for your next electrical work. He owns and works for AMS Electrical. I will post his number if anyone wants it. I will give AMS Electrical and American Home Protection LLC 5 stars.
