I purchased a POWERBALL ticket from Circle K on Schwarz Street in Edwardsville, Illinois 62025 on August 6, 2023, at 8:30:03 AM. The draw was held on August 7, 2023, and was a Winning Ticket.
The number above the bar code is [protected]. How do I know this? I still have possession of the original ticket.
The first time I took it to the same store for redemption, I was advised that although it was a Winning Ticket, there was a glitch in the computer and couldn't be paid out. I received no money.
I asked for the original ticket back and the employee asked "Why, don't you trust me?" The employee wanted to retain the ticket and make some further inquiry. I refused and simply stated I wanted my original ticket back. The original ticket was returned to me.
On September 8, 2023, I returned to the same Circle K and attempted to redeem it again.
This time, I was advised that the Ticket had already been cashed. The original Ticket was again returned to me and remains in my possession.
Something has apparently occurred accounting wise or the computer system remains flawed.
This is a frustrating business practice and not appreciated.
