Classic Aire Care I had to wait 4 months for them to fix my AC, but then they told me that someone forgot to order the parts

I had to wait 4 months for them to fix my AC, but then they told me that someone forgot to order the parts. Can you believe that? And to make matters worse, my AC units got damaged during the installation. I complained and requested replacements four times, but the office ignored me. Now, they've sent my bill to collections without even addressing the repairs or replacing the damaged condenser coils. They just keep denying everything.

In July , we hired them to install a complete unit with UV Filter and humidifier. We spent $20,000. The unit is warrantied. We owe them $289 and they will not come and see the problems we are experiencing. We had not heat last night and my husband and I have health issues. I want other to know, not to use them. They take advantage of the disabled and elderly.

Classic Aire Care Classic Aire Care's technician came out to clean my furnace for the season and found that some wires had started melting

Classic Aire Care's technician came out to clean my furnace for the season and found that some wires had started melting. He showed me the cracked heat exchanger with his camera. They were able to replace the furnace within a couple of days. Now I have a great working, more efficient furnace and peace of mind that my family is safe from the carbon monoxide leak from our old furnace.

Classic Aire Care Aire Care

Aire Care. The technicians were professional and knowledgeable. They did a great job installing my new system. The salesperson, Sean, was very helpful and made the process easy. The installation team, Ian and the other guy whose name I forgot, were top-notch. They worked efficiently and got the job done right.

After the installation, I received a gift in the mail, which was a nice surprise. And to top it off, Sean sent me a personal thank you card. It's the little things that make a big difference.

I've dealt with other heating and cooling companies before, but Classic Aire Care stands out. The level of service they provide is unmatched. The technicians were professional and knew what they were doing. The salesperson, Sean, was a great help and made everything smooth. The installation team, Ian and the other guy, were really good. They worked fast and got everything done properly.

After the installation, I got a gift in the mail, which was a nice touch. And Sean even sent me a thank you card. You can't beat that. I've used other heating and cooling companies in the past, but Classic Aire Care is on a whole different level.

Classic Aire Care Extrordinary techs and service!

Extrordinary techs and service! We needed a hot water heater, furnace, and AC unit. They were friendly on the phone when scheduling, sent out one of their techs to assess the situation the next day, offered a quote and discussed our options, and installed the units promptly before a major blizzard. They treated us like family! We trust Classic Aire and will use them in the future.

This company's answering service didn't know that customers could schedule an appointment on their website (which I had done) and couldn't find mine, and said they were all booked up and couldn't come out to route out my sewer drain which was backing up. I'm irritated at the disconnect but am very happy that I did not go with this company because I went with a local company that came right out, did a great job and was extremely affordable!

This company sends deceptive ads saying that we're due for maintenance. They don't know when we're due, because we've never used them. I've tried so many times to be removed from their USPS mailing list: called several times, emailed several times, online web chat, again several times, even wrote letters to management. They're the only company I've ever seen, from small to very large, who refuse to stop sending junk mail. I don't know if they're that incompetent or just arrogant, but they will never get my business.

Classic Aire Care Our AC was working fine, but it had a whistle

Our AC was working fine, but it had a whistle. We contacted Classic Aire Care and they said we needed to replace the unit. They convinced us to get the more expensive Lenox unit. Once it was installed, it couldn't cool our house properly. The old unit, which was 20 years old, cooled our house much better than the new one. We had to buy window units for the upstairs, which we didn't need before. We didn't have much money to spare, so this was a tough situation for us. We ended up hiring another AC repair company who immediately told us that the installation was so "shoddy" it looked like no one had ever done an installation before! He said it was leaking air everywhere. I would avoid Classic Aire Care because they don't care about their customers enough to send a "professional" like we had an experience with. I would give them zero stars if I could.

I called Classic Aire Care to schedule an appointment for the next day because my air conditioning was not working and it was going to be 95 degrees tomorrow. They informed me that they couldn't provide an exact arrival time, only between 8 AM and 5 PM. I understood this, so I had my wife take time off work to meet the technician. They said we would receive a 30-minute notice before their arrival.

Our other house is 35 minutes away, where we planned to take our dog and wait for the technician to arrive. I asked if it would be alright if my wife was 5 minutes late. They responded with a firm "no," stating that the technician would leave if she wasn't there. I then asked if it would be possible to give us a little more notice so that my wife could make it on time. Unfortunately, they said it wasn't possible, as their technician would leave if nobody was home. They claimed that this was standard practice in the industry.

I offered to pay the technician for the extra time until we arrived, which would only be 5 minutes later. However, they insisted that the technician would leave regardless. As someone who has worked as a service electrician for over 10 years, I can confidently say that this is not standard practice and it is not how you should treat a customer who is going out of their way to use your service.

I will make sure to inform everyone I know not to use Classic Aire Care anymore.

Classic Aire Care I've been really happy with everything Classic Aire has done for me over the years

I've been really happy with everything Classic Aire has done for me over the years. I'm not a long-time customer, but I've used them on and off along with other companies. Recently, I was told that my furnace and AC, which are over 25 years old, would probably need to be replaced soon. Sean from the sales team came out a few days later and took his time with me. He used to be a technician, so he gave me some insight on the equipment. He went through the options and made recommendations based on what I told him. I really appreciated that he didn't try to sell me the most expensive stuff, but instead suggested something that he thought I could handle since I'm not very tech-savvy. After our conversation, I told him I wanted to think about it and get another quote, which I did. Another local company came in, spent about 10-20 minutes with me, and sent me a quote a few days later. Their price was about $600 higher, but after my interaction with Sean, I felt much more comfortable buying from Classic Aire. He showed up on the day of the installation and even sent a thank you card afterwards. About three weeks later, I received some candy too! The installation team was top-notch and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend them as a company.

I called Classic Aire Care because the blower motor on my upstairs unit randomly turns on and starts blowing when everything is turned off. A guy came out and told me the blower motor needed to be replaced. It was under warranty, but the labor cost $394 to install it, on top of the $109 service fee I had to pay for them to come out and check the problem. The next day, another guy came and replaced the blower motor. It took him less than an hour, but he still wanted to charge me $394 for labor. The blower motor is under a 10-year warranty and was only six years old. I've called three times now, but no one has called me back. When I first called back, I talked to a service manager who told me their labor rate was $160 an hour. I asked why they charged me $394 when the guy was there for less than an hour. He kept backtracking and said those costs were included in the estimate, but he couldn't break them down for me. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he promised me that day, last Thursday, that he would call me back. That was five days ago, including the weekend, but I still haven't received a response after my third call today. I would say that's price gouging!

I used to be a satisfied customer of *** for 21 years! It was a bad day when they merged with Classic Aire, but I decided to give them a chance. I spoke to a former technician who wasn't happy with Classic Aire's business practices. He said they always try to charge extra whenever possible! So, when a technician came in the Spring and said my unit was in great shape, I thought the previous technician was just being negative. However, this Fall, when another technician came for my Fall/Winter cleaning, he went downstairs for only 3 minutes and came back up claiming that my heat exchanger had cracks and rust holes. He showed me a picture of my system as proof. I asked how this could be possible since my unit is only 6 years old and I was never informed of any issues. I also asked about my warranty. He assured me that it was covered, but the labor costs of $1700.00 were not. I said I needed time to think about it. He suggested getting a carbon monoxide detector for my safety in the meantime. I called another company for a second opinion. Guess what? No cracks or rust were found, and there were no carbon monoxide emissions! This other company was very surprised that Classic Aire didn't shut down my unit if the heat exchanger was really as bad as the technician claimed. They assured me that my unit is running perfectly and there's no need to worry. They said the only thing Classic Aire did right was to make me get a carbon monoxide detector! Classic Aire has lost me as a customer. Shame on them for trying to take advantage of a loyal customer. They deserve to lose all their customers!

I agreed to have my hot water heater replaced and agreed to the price, even though I thought the cost was excessive ($2445, flat fee). Technician came and gave me total price on Saturday, August 20 and told me that service call fee and hourly service would be waived if I purchased now. Since I had heard nothing on Monday, I called and asked about install. Settled on August 25. Different Tech arrived than the one who gave the quote and new tech said he was unaware of the fact that PVC was used to connect main line to water heater and it would need to be replaced. He left to get supplies. Water heater delivered while he was gone and it was the wrong size. He phoned the vendor and loaded the incorrect one on his company truck and left, returning with the 2nd water heater. Problems: the water heater would not fit under the *** unit in our utility room so it would have to be moved out into the room; the pan would no longer fit since the unit was bigger around (another trip out); the electricity would not reach and so a junction box would need to be installed but he would cap it and an electrician would need to be dispatched. Took my money. I've called/chatted on their website/emailed Classic Aire Care 5 times to get the job completed and answer some of my questions about installation problems and have received no calls from them responding to my concerns. I agreed to the price so I'm not disputing that even though I think it's high; am not seeking replacement of the linoleum since the old water heater was fitted around it but with the new one being moved because it wouldn't fit it now needs to be replaced/repaired and not questioning their repair persons except that they should tell folks that the new one will not fit and logistically things will change. I just want the job to be completed so I can close this chapter and never use this company again.

On January 4th, 2022, I hired Classic Aire Care to fix a leaky pipe hidden behind my wall. They billed me $120.00 per hour, plus the cost of parts. Unfortunately, the tape they applied to the pinhole did not resolve the issue. According to their policy, they offer a 30-day warranty on their services. However, when I informed them that the pipe was still leaking, they insisted that I would need to pay for another visit. To make matters worse, their hourly rate has increased from $120.00 to $160.00 since then.

I had a maintenance appointment with Classic Aire Care on December 30, 2022, from 8:00am-12:00pm. They never showed up or called me. I called them after the missed appointment to ask for a refund. I did hear back from 2 people on separate occasions who approved the refund, but I haven't received it in 21+ days. No one in the company apologized for missing the appointment, but that's fine because I just want my money back. I don't want to use a company that doesn't care about customers. Unfortunately, this was a good company, and so was the company they recently acquired. I used that company and praised how good they were. Now, Classic Aire Care is so big that they don't have enough staff to keep customers happy. I know because I was one of those customers. Until they improve, I would advise against using them.

Classic Aire Care I called this company to fix my A/C on July 29th

I called this company to fix my A/C on July 29th. They said $99 for the service call. *** came out and showed me the price of the dual capacitor and said it was $238. I looked the part up and they ranged from 4 dollars to $33. I asked why so much and he said "ma'am" that's what I am showing here". I Called the business and talked to them about it and they said he was showing me the part plus the labor. I told him I wanted to keep the part that he took off of the unit, and he quickly picked it up and threw it at me ! How incredibly unprofessional. I couldn't believe it, I asked him if he actually threw that at me and I told him that I was NOT going to pick that up. I then said that I bet he handed it to me when he got his payment. When he done he gave me a bill for $238 PLUS the $99 for the diagnostic. I'm stunned, every place I called said that the diagnostic would be included in the price of the repair. These are unprecedented times, so many people have been furloughed, I don't understand how they can feel good about themselves overcharging their customers that way.

Classic Aire Care On the 17th, they came out to diagnose my AC and said it was low on refrigerant

On the 17th, they came out to diagnose my AC and said it was low on refrigerant. They didn't come inside and only inspected the outside unit. The technician added refrigerant. However, after 15 hours, my compressor started to fail. They claimed it had debris in it and tried to blame it on the new furnace. The other company that installed the furnace didn't disconnect anything from the AC. Classic Aire Care wanted to charge me for a complete system flush. The A coil indicated it required R-22, but the outside condenser said it could use either. They ended up putting in 1410a. When I tried to talk to the service manager, he said he didn't know why the compressor failed the very next day and couldn't do anything about it. It's been over a week now without central AC, and I had to spend over $1000 on window units. They did give me a quote for a new unit at $5500. Everyone we've spoken to thinks they made a mistake and are trying to avoid fixing it. It's possible they used the wrong refrigerant. Our AC was working, although not cooling the back rooms properly, before they came out, and now we have no central AC.

We moved into a house that Classic Aire Care had installed the HVAC and humidifier. Our humidifier wasn't working during the first year of owning the place. Classic Aire sent a technician to our house to check and fix the humidifier. He told us that, unfortunately, the part that broke (the humidistat) wasn't covered by the 10-year warranty. So, he needed to replace it, which would cost $250 plus a $99 service fee. He tried really hard to convince me to sign up for their Maintenance program, which had an annual fee that would waive the $99 service fee and give me a 10% discount on parts. I said no. Then, he didn't have the part in his truck, and they didn't want to send someone to pick it up from the shop and deliver it at 3pm on a Friday. So, he said the repair would have to wait. When he left, I called our home warranty company. They sent someone who fixed the HVAC. Turns out, the problem wasn't the humidistat. The issue was that it had been incorrectly wired when Classic Aire Care originally installed it. Now, it works perfectly fine. Classic Aire Care has REFUSED to waive the $99 service call fee, even though they misdiagnosed the problem.

Classic Aire Care I called Classic Aire Care to fix my air conditioner 'cause it stopped working

I called Classic Aire Care to fix my air conditioner 'cause it stopped working. The dude came on August 17, 2022 in the morning. He said there's a $109 Diagnostic Fee. I was like, cool. So he checked it out and found two wires in the outside unit control box that were all messed up, probably 'cause of a mouse. The guy said it would cost $185 to fix it. I was like, alright, thinking the diagnostic fee would cover some of the repair cost. They fixed it by splicing the damaged wires with some of their own wire and a couple wire nuts. They were done in less than 30 minutes from when they got there. When they told me I owed $294, I asked if they could waive the Diagnostic Fee since they did the repair. They said no. So I called Classic Aire Care to ask about it. I told them $294 for less than 30 minutes of work seemed like a lot. They said a service manager would check it out and call me back. The manager called while I was out and left a message saying they wouldn't waive the fee. I've looked at other AC service companies in the area and I've had other appliance repairs before. Usually, if they do the work, they don't charge for the diagnostic fee.

Classic Aire Care We used to be loyal customers of *** until Classic Aire Care took over in 2021

We used to be loyal customers of *** until Classic Aire Care took over in 2021. They came to our house on 1/11/2023 for a regular furnace check-up. They claimed that one of our furnaces had a crack in the heat exchange, which could be extremely dangerous and lead to CO2 poisoning. They said they had to turn off the gas to the furnace due to legal requirements and would send a salesperson to give us a quote for a new furnace. The salesperson could arrive in a few hours. However, we decided to get a second opinion and had another Heating & Air company come out on the morning of 1/12. They conducted a thorough investigation and found no crack. They even ran a combustion report to double-check and confirmed that the system was running fine. There was no carbon monoxide leakage, and all other readings were normal. Classic Aire Care is using deceitful sales tactics, scaring their customers and cutting off heat in the middle of winter to pressure them into making a quick purchase. I want their ComplaintsBoard.com rating to reflect their dishonest practices so that other consumers can be aware. I also want a refund for the service charges from 1/11, but I'm certain I've been cheated out of more money by this company over the past couple of years.

Classic Aire Care On October 29, a guy from Classic Aire Care showed up to fix my bathroom sink

On October 29, a guy from Classic Aire Care showed up to fix my bathroom sink. He was here for about 20 minutes. I told him where to get a new faucet assembly and he came back the next day with the right one. It took him around two hours to attach it. They charged me $60.00 for the trip and $130.00 for an hour of work on the first day, even though no work was done. So, I ended up paying $190.00. On the second day, they charged me $212.77 for the faucet assembly and $260.00 for two hours of work, totaling $472.77. I found the same faucet assembly online for $169.00, and the average plumber in Saint Louis doesn't make anywhere close to $130.00 an hour. In total, they charged me $662.77. Here's where things get bad. The faucet assembly wasn't installed properly, leaving a gap between the sink and the wall-mounted faucets. Without me knowing, the "plumber" left a big puddle of water under the sink in the bathroom. When he turned off the water downstairs, he accidentally knocked off the water tube on my humidifier, causing a big puddle on the basement floor and carpet. I didn't notice it until the next day. I made two appointments for Steve, the master plumber, to come and see the mess, but he never showed up. Since I have to get the whole job redone by another company, I want a full refund of $662.77.

Classic Aire Care I had a yearly maintenance contract with Classic Aire Care, but it wasn't a smooth experience

I had a yearly maintenance contract with Classic Aire Care, but it wasn't a smooth experience. When I scheduled my AC inspection, I had to wait three months and they didn't give me a specific time, so I had to be available all day. The technician who came to my house couldn't change the filter in one unit because they didn't have it in their truck. My system was working fine, but the day after the maintenance, I heard a high-pitched sound from my basement. I called them to check it out, but once again, they couldn't give me a specific time. It turned out that the hose on one unit was left detached, causing a big puddle of water in my dry basement. The technician also put the filter in incorrectly and couldn't fix it, even though it's the same brand I've always used. He didn't clean up the mess and seemed annoyed. He said he had to leave quickly. After he left, I fixed the filter myself. They haven't been professional in following up. They told me to talk to a service manager who is never in the office. I have to wait for him to call (which he has tried) to get a resolution. I've talked to two different people in the office, but no one has offered a solution. I paid for a service that caused water damage in my basement and had a technician who didn't have the right equipment and didn't know how to properly insert the filter. They have wasted so much of my time and money.

Classic Aire Care I first interacted with Classic Aire Care after being rescheduled for service from another company 4 times in the winter

I first interacted with Classic Aire Care after being rescheduled for service from another company 4 times in the winter. Classic Aire Care had next day availability for a regular maintenance visit which I was happy about because I was overdue. The guy who came out talked me into a service plan, which I regret. I needed a/c service and tried to schedule in the spring - the earliest they could schedule was August 27. In June I began having issues with my zoned system, where the upstairs was not cooling and the unit was shutting on/off repeatedly without reaching the temp. I called on Monday morning for on call service and Classic Aire Care was not able to come out until Thursday. Since I was suffering and was trying to address issues myself, I replaced the air filter and tried shutting the system down for long periods of time to give it a break. When the technician came out on the 23rd, he blamed the allergy filter (I told him I had just put the filter in) and spent most of the 2hrs he was here on the phone with a coworker regarding the design of my system. He told me he didnt see an issue and thought it was because of the way it was setup - to call the general number when the on/off thing happened again. He also mentioned that the a/c unit was dirty, but that cleaning it would not solve the issue. This cost just under $160 on top of the one year service plan I paid for (where I was not given service). I gave feedback via text as requested by Classic Aire Care on 6/23 - they responded & said the issue would be resolved by their manager and I never heard back. I began having bad problems again and called/wrote on 6/28. Another technician came out on 6/29, saw smart thermostats, and immediately blamed the wire. He ignored things I said about history & prior experience, got upset and left. Despite prepaying for service I didnt receive and additional $160 for nothing, I called another company who immediately identified the issue of the bad zone control board. Classic Aire Care again didnt respond to my feedback & provided poor/no service.

Classic Aire Care I contacted Classic Aire Care because my AC unit wasn't cooling properly

I contacted Classic Aire Care because my AC unit wasn't cooling properly. They said the problem was with the evaporator coil, which was covered under warranty and caused the freon to leak. They charged me $99 for the service call and $554 for the freon that leaked from the covered part. The technician told me it would take about a week for the part to be available. However, it actually took them over 2 weeks to get the part and install it. They then charged me $1136.00 for labor to install the part that was covered under warranty. In total, I paid $1700. It only took the technician 3 hours to install the part, so based on the labor charge, I paid $378.67 per hour. I tried contacting the company multiple times to get an explanation and a resolution before they completed the work, but they didn't respond. I ended up paying under protest. Here's a timeline of my service call: June 1 - initial service call. June 3 - I spoke with someone named *** and was told the labor charge was a flat rate. They said they would escalate the issue to their supervisor for more explanation. June 8 - I didn't receive a call back, so I called and left a voice message on the company's voicemail. June 8 - I received a call back and was forwarded to ***, but had to leave another voice message. June 8 - *** called back and confirmed that the labor charge was a flat rate and could take up to 4 hours to complete. I asked how they could justify charging $1136 for up to 4 hours of work, but they couldn't provide an explanation. I asked to speak with her supervisor. June 8 - *** called and gave the same explanation about the flat rate. I asked how an odd number like $1136 could be a flat rate, but they couldn't explain or justify it. I asked for their supervisor and was told the Vice President would contact me. June 9 - I haven't heard from anyone. June 10 - I called and asked to speak with ***, and left a message for a call back. June 11 - I called the company to ask about the part and when they would install it. The scheduler coincidentally said they had the part for a few days. I scheduled the installation for June 17. June 17 - *** arrived at 8:15am to install the part and finished at 11am. I paid and signed "payment under protest."
