I got a heat pump put in at my rental and a triple head system at my crib by Scotia HVAC
I got a heat pump put in at my rental and a triple head system at my crib by Scotia HVAC. They did a bang up job and I'm stoked.
They were super friendly and made the whole process easy peasy
They were super friendly and made the whole process easy peasy. The guy who came to fix my AC was a total pro and knew exactly what he was doing. He fixed it up in no time and even gave me some tips on how to keep it running smoothly. Overall, I was really impressed with Scotia HVAC and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and affordable HVAC services.
We worked with Scotia HVAC to figure out what kind of ducted system we needed for our new crib
We worked with Scotia HVAC to figure out what kind of ducted system we needed for our new crib. But when we went to put in the order, they said we had to talk to the ducting peeps. No biggie, right? Wrong. It's been 10 days, we've sent three emails and made two calls, and we still haven't heard back. We're pretty bummed out about it.
I jus had a heat pump installed by Scotia HVAC and I am so impressed by everything and everybody
I jus had a heat pump installed by Scotia HVAC and I am so impressed by everything and everybody. I wanna congratulate them on their prompt and professional service from the first contact, to scheduling of estimate, home visit and ultimately the installation. The staff was very articulate and ready to answer any questions I had about the product. I would definitely use them again and I'll tell my friends and neighbors how great they are. Great job Scotia HVAC!
I been waiting for over a month for service on a new heat pump install
I been waiting for over a month for service on a new heat pump install. The initial install was Jan 5th 2023. Roughly a month after the install one of two heat pumps started making noise around the fan area. I called the first time on the 17 Feb 2023 to set up a service tech visit. Waited until the 27 Feb 2023 and called back to enquire about my service tech visit and was greeted with an explanation that they were busy and would get to me in due time and that I should use my backup heat source if it should completely fail before they arrived to look at the unit. Now you need to remember that this unit was installed for just over a month when these issues arose and here I sit writing about my experience with this company that doesn't seem to care after they got my money 2 days short of a two months since the unit was originally install and the unit still isn't fixed and I haven't even heard from the company as to when I will have a service tech here to look at it. I should have seen these issues coming because during the install the company that they used to do the electrical install did even place a cover on the junction box( which is against code) that they installed and the area around where they worked wasn't even cleaned up. I ended up taking pictures and send them to the company to which I never really got any reply and when I called about this issue several days later they finally sent a second electrician out and put the cover on as well as install additional clamps to secure the wire to the joist. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know for fear that they would have the same experience that I am currently having. I wish I had done a lot more research on this company before handing over my money to them.
We cancelled our contract with Scotia HVAC 'cause we weren't too happy with the service we got after signing up for a ducted heatpump
We cancelled our contract with Scotia HVAC 'cause we weren't too happy with the service we got after signing up for a ducted heatpump. At first, everything was cool. The agent didn't pressure us to sign up and gave us info on different systems. We signed up and paid in December, but things got bumpy after that. They told us the promised installation date wasn't possible and we had to schedule with the propane company for backup. This wasn't explained before we signed up. Then, we didn't hear anything for weeks. We called after Christmas and were told people would call us for inspections, but no one did. This went on for 3 weeks and we had to top up our oil tank, which ate into our rebate money. We cancelled and got our money back, but we're confused why things went the way they did. If propane is so hard to organize, why offer it? The company needs to get their act together. Beware if you want a ducted heat pump with propane backup from them.
I didn't go with this company, something just didn't feel right
I didn't go with this company, something just didn't feel right. I found them on a website and they advertised a 13 year warranty on their Heat Pump system, which seemed better than the others I was looking at. But when I got their quote, it only had a 10 year warranty and 5 years on labor, while the others had 12 year warranties and 10 years on labor. The salesperson said their system was better than the name brands I had researched, and they also offered solar panel installation. I told them I was about to accept another offer with 0% interest financing, but they said the other company was hiding the interest in the price. They asked me to provide the quote from the other company, but I didn't think that was fair. They then asked for more information, including my power bill, which I provided but blocked out my account information. They asked for it again, but I hadn't even selected them yet, so I cut off contact. A few days later, they sent me a quote for an HVAC system I didn't even select, with less efficient panels and higher costs. I didn't trust their pitches, so I didn't choose their services.
Service was good at first, but things went downhill after we agreed to buy a centrally ducted unit
Service was good at first, but things went downhill after we agreed to buy a centrally ducted unit. The sales rep came with a pre-determined size, brand, and cost, which was weird. But we agreed to proceed after doing some research. The technician who came to assess and measure was great and gave us some tips on efficiency. We signed the contract and agreed on an installation date, but then things got bad. A sheet metal tech came to prep for the install, and he was rude and didn't have the right materials. He made inappropriate comments and left without setting a return date. We tried to contact the sales rep, but he didn't respond for weeks. When he finally did, he told us that the unit we agreed on wouldn't be installed and that they would install a smaller one from a different brand without telling us anything about it. The crew that came to install made odd remarks and left without showing us how to use the thermostat or giving us any information. We tried to contact the sales rep again, but he didn't respond. When we noticed that the unit was running constantly and not completing cycles, we tried to contact the rep again, but he didn't respond. We've had terrible customer service and a unit that doesn't work properly.

No service
Our consultant Will Merrett assessed our needs and examined our electric panel. Because all the slots in the panel were full, he suggested they would use mini breakers to provide enough room in our panel for the heat pump and still maintain power to our electric heaters. On the install day there were not enough mini breakers on the truck to power the heat...

Scotia HVAC didn't give me an invoice saying PAID so I could keep getting the Greener home program grant. They were supposed to take out my oil tank from the backyard but didn't. They said they can show me a CC statement that says it's paid if I ask.
I got a problem with my remote control for one of my units
I got a problem with my remote control for one of my units. I asked them about getting a new one and paying for it, but they ain't calling back or emailing. I tried to reach them like 10 times in the last 60-90 days, but they don't reply or give you a straight answer. I even went to their office address, but they ain't there and won't tell you where to go to buy a remote or see them. I'm so done with them.

Scotia hvac selled my dad heat pumps that were put in the wrong place
Scotia hvac selled my dad heat pumps that were put in the wrong place. They still not moved them or hooked them up to electricity. It's been over 4 months and they not doing anything to fix it. They don't call back fast or at all. When they come, they say they can't hook them up. After lots of excuses, we're tired and mad. The company doesn't talk to each other and nobody knows what's happening. Today they sent a guy to show us how to use the remotes but there's no power. We're done.
We bought a heat pump from Scotia HVAC on February 27th, but it wasn't put in right
We bought a heat pump from Scotia HVAC on February 27th, but it wasn't put in right. We've called the salesman and the owner, ***, about 25 times, but they haven't sent anyone to fix it. We've sent lots of emails, too, but they keep telling us someone will come soon, and then nobody does. We're seniors on a fixed income, and my husband is a Vet. We just want a heat pump that works, like we paid for. We got it to save money on our power bill, but now we're paying for a broken heat pump (we got it through a finance company, not through Scotia HVAC like we thought we would). They don't even call or email us back. We're sick of being treated like this.
I bought some heat pumps from Scotia HVAC in fall 2019
I bought some heat pumps from Scotia HVAC in fall 2019. When I tried to use them in May , the AC wasn't working. I called them up, but they were busy. A tech finally came on July 21 and spent a few hours trying to figure out the problem. He said that the unit only had about 10% of the required refrigerant, but he couldn't find any leaks. They charged me $513.35 for this. When I asked why I was being charged if the refrigerant was missing, the owner said that it might be a micro leak in the lines. I asked if they could replace the lines, but the owner said that would cost me over $500 more. I'm not happy with Scotia HVAC's service.
We got a mini split heat pump from Scotia HVAC in May for $4594.29
We got a mini split heat pump from Scotia HVAC in May for $4594.29. They said they'd fix it in 2 days if we needed any parts or service. It was fine in cooling mode, but when we switched to heat mode in the Fall, it didn't work. We called them and they sent 2 service techs on December 2. They said they'd come back in January because they needed to order 2 main computer boards that weren't talking to each other. The manufacturer said they hadn't gotten a warranty claim from Ace.
In the Fall, a repair tech came and said he'd try to fix it without the boards because they were on back order due to COVID. But he couldn't fix it and said we had to stop using it or it would hurt the compressor. We turned it off. They arranged another repair, but the tech said he didn't have the parts he needed. He did some welding and said it was a manufacturing problem. He said to call again and they'd come right away to install the missing parts from the last service call.
We've been trying to get them to come back, but they haven't answered. The parts are still on back order and we don't know when they'll come. We want them to replace the unit or give us our money back because it's never worked and it's costing us more in electricity. We paid for it in full when they installed it, but we haven't been able to use it.
We got heat pumps put in during the summer of 2019 and the people at Scotia HVAC who sold it to us were really great
We got heat pumps put in during the summer of 2019 and the people at Scotia HVAC who sold it to us were really great. We had to get some service done and it took a couple of weeks to get an appointment, but that's okay. The second time we called for service was on December 8, 2022 because we were getting an error code. We tried to fix it ourselves but it didn't work, so we called Scotia HVAC on December 10 and left a message. They called us back on December 12 and said someone would be in touch for an appointment. We called again on December 15 and left another message. On December 16, they called us back and said someone from the service department would contact us. My husband called on January 10 and asked for a manager, but nobody has called us back yet. Finally, on January 17, they offered us an appointment and we took it. I took a day off work and paid $195 in cash for the appointment on January 20. They confirmed our appointment for January 24, but then the technician called us at 1pm and said they couldn't come. I'm really frustrated because we've already made three payments for the heat pump and we're using space heaters to stay warm. Our wood stove isn't enough to keep us warm in the cold January weather and I have two small children. I need help.
We paid Scotia HVAC $18,277.00 in June for two ACD heat pump units
We paid Scotia HVAC $18,277.00 in June for two ACD heat pump units. But in late November/early December , we told them about the noise coming from the units. Our neighbors also complained about the noise. The big unit at the back of the house makes so much noise that we can't sleep at night. We sleep in a room at the front of the house, far from the unit. The smaller unit on the other side of the house makes a loud noise that can be heard in the lower level of the house. Scotia HVAC sent technicians twice in Nov/Dec 2020 and twice more in January , but they haven't given us any solutions. Every time they visit, they either have no solution or suggest something that doesn't work. They say that bigger units make more noise, but that doesn't explain the noise from the smaller unit. Our friends, neighbors, and family have similar heat pumps, but they don't have noise problems. It's strange that Scotia HVAC would sell a residential unit that makes so much noise. They contacted the manufacturer, but they didn't have any solutions. We spent over $18,000 on a system we can't use because of the noise complaints from our neighbors.
