I recently had to replace the clock mechanism on a ceramic disk that I got from overseas. I decided to order from ClockParts.com and while the mechanism worked, I did encounter a few issues.
Firstly, the standard clock kit did not include a hangar, even though the picture I looked at when ordering had one. There was also no indication of which hangar type would work with the mechanism I ordered. In hindsight, I realized that my existing hangar was of a different type than the mechanism I received.
Secondly, the main nut supplied in the hardware pack was cross-threaded. Luckily, I was able to use the nut from the old mechanism. However, the nut included in the kit was of poor quality.
Thirdly, the closed cap nut that goes on the end of the clock hands to give a finished look was also cross-threaded. I couldn't get it to go onto the end of the mechanism. They provided a "ring nut" which also fits the end of the clock mechanism. This screwed on without issue, but it left the mechanism's shaft exposed on the face of the clock and looked unfinished.
Fourthly, the plastic fittings for the hands were super cheap. It was up to me to bend the hands in such a way that they didn't cross each other after mounting. For example, the minute hand falls lower than the hour hand and will drag the hour hand along with it. This is why the nut in issue #3 is so important. It helps the hands stay apart, but it is not the only solution. Unfortunately, this is not indicated in the directions at all.
Fifthly, no assembly instructions were included in the packaging. I found them on the website, but they were unclear on the last step because they were generic to all mechanisms of this type. They should have one set of directions for hour/minute hand only and one set of directions to install a sweep hand (for seconds). This is specific to the movement, so you need to look carefully at the website to get the right instructions.
Lastly, I have to agree with other reviewers that the shipping charge is ridiculous. It was USD 10.47 as of this writing on 1/1/2021.
Overall, while I was able to get the mechanism to work, I did encounter a few issues that could have been avoided with better quality control and clearer instructions.

Overall, the software was less than junk and definitely not worth the $29.99 price tag.
In a previous order, I purchased a clock movement and a heavy-duty pendulum movement for a grandmother clock conversion. While the products were functional, I later found out that I could have purchased the exact same RHYTHM quad chime movement on eBay for $46.22 less than what I paid on ClockParts.com. The pendulum drive was also overpriced, as I found the same unit on eBay for $19.95, compared to the $49.95 I paid on ClockParts.com. It seems that ClockParts.com is overcharging for their products, and I would recommend checking around before making a purchase from them.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with ClockParts.com and will not be ordering from them again. It is also worth noting that all sales are final, so there is no recourse if you are not satisfied with your purchase.
