Coast to Coast Grand Getaways SCAM!

While vacationing in Florida last June we made the mistake of attending an information session from Grand Getaways in order to obtain some discounted theme park tickets. After listening to the lies about cheaper hotels, cruises, and airfares we were ready to leave and collect our discounted tickets, but then the "white haired" man came to our table. He was very pushy and insistant about have a decision right away. He even imposed the idea that if we did not stay and talk to him that we would forfeit our rights to the discounted theme park tickets. I was getting tired of listening to this man's salesmanship, so I then made my second mistake by walking outside and leaving my elderly father alone with this "white haired" man. Upon my return my father had already signed the paperwork and given this man his credit card.

We tried to make the best of a horrible situation by calling to get prices and availability for possible vacations. It has been four months of phone tag and rude representatives and we still haven't been able to utilize this "vacation club". My father was "robbed" for thousands of dollars!

The main purpose of this post is to let everyone know what a SCAM this company is. I know they don't only prey on the elderly, but it certainly seems like they are a prime target. Also...if anyone is interested in or is aware of a class action law suit against these "theives", please let me know and we would be more than happy to join your cause!

I have gotten several calls from this company. They said they were taking care of the people that had been ripped off
by Cheap Trips. But I would have to send them more money to fix the problem. They would send me vouchers and
I would have a lifetime membership I could pass on to my kids. I read these complaints as well as the one from Consumer
complaints about Cheap Trips. They sound the same to me. The phone number is [protected]. They did send
me an email with their phone number which I was able to contact the same person. Too risky for me!

I agree. GrandGetaways is a scam. They completely lied during their presentation and have not yet honored any of their promises. Very disappointed with ourselves for falling for these crooks.

I agree...I have had one for 3 years now and have been unable to use it. There is a cost to have a representative book and make enquiries for you and most of the time you can purchase cheaper yourself on the internet direct with hotels/resorts. I was told I could sell at any time from the agent I purchased from but I cannot find his card to contact him and Grand Getaways have not been helpful in telling me who and how I can sell my membership. In the meantime I am stuck with a Vacation club I cannot use and have to pay a yearly membership fee.

I would like to join for a class acltion law suit. I got scamed by these people this 5th of June(Sunday), English is my foreign language, I wasn't even hear the word 'three days' return period. I was trying to get out of there to tend my kids at hotel, these people push me to make a quick decision, you can imaging, I signed the paperwork in order to get out there quick. I went back on 9th of June to cancel the membership when I realized I don't have this amount of money to spend since I need to pay my son't summer class, they refused and the attitude turned so ugly. I did search later, this company has so many complaints, I really wish I know it before I went ot the presentation. I still try to believe them, so I called in for some 'good deals', it end up either playing phoone tags, or the price I got is much more expensive than I got off the internet. I submitted a complaint to Grand Getaway wed, someone called me back try to explain. What's the meaning of it? They know they are making a living by scamming innocent people, how can they live with it? I am totally agree a class law suit to stand together to get out money back! Sarah

Coast to Coast Grand Getaways Poor service

I paid over $2000.00 extra on my vehicle as a recommendation as it was a used car. It's a 2004 Mazda6 GT that had very low miliage, but I was like "What the heck, atleast I will have protection". The cost was based on that fact that my car was manual and fully loaded and I wanted 24 months of coverage and unlimited KM.

I bought the car in Jan 2009 and signed all the papers.

I didn't receive my warrenty package after 2 months. So I called the dealer who told me that they would sent me a copy of what I signed and will contact Coast to Coast Dealer Services Inc to let them know.

A few weeks later I received an envelope with instructions on how to keep my warrenty valid. I had to fill in a form every 5000km or every 3 months. I must maintain the and do my regular services.

So to keep in line and get receipts I took my car to Mr.Lube and Mazda to get services done to it, oil, lube, you name it. Since I bought the car with low mileage (69, 800KM) I didnt think I would have any problems.

Until 1 yr later when my car hit 100, 100KM. I noticed that it was harder to get into gear and would grind. I also noticed that my clutch was slipping. I know that the clutch is my responsiblity so I paid to change it. MR. Transmission did the job for me. This all happened in March 2010 and cost me a bundle of money. When I picked up the car, it was still hard to get into gear, but the clutch was majorly diferent and felt like a new car. I took the car back to Mr. Tranmission who told me that the clutch has nothing to do with the hardness of getting into gears. They check everything again and took if for a ride, came back and told me that their is something wrong with the Syncros. I asked how much that would cost, he asked me if I had any warrenty on the car. I was releived as the cost to do this job would cost me an additional $1500.00.

I parked the car for acouple of weeks and then contacted Coast to Coast Dealer Service Inc on April 23, 2010. This is when everything went down hill and I felt ripped off.

I was told by the agent that Coast to Coast Dealer Service Inc does not cover Syncro's or other internal transmission components.

This is what I paid for:

Unlimited KM

Hi-Tech

Seals and Gaskets

Powertrain Used.

Under the package I PAID. It states that following are covered: (Automatic/Standard) Transmission case/housing, all INTERNAL LUBRICATED parts, torqe converter, modulator valve, but Excludes: all manual clutch/clutch related compenents, flexplate, flywheel, ring gears, linkage and electronic components. Internal electronic engagment transmissions components are covered.

If Hi-Tech is paid for you also get: Tranaxle, Differntial, Transfer Case and Secondary Differential.

Now the rip off part. the Syncor are part of the transmission and it LUBRICATED. It is used to move from one gear to the next removing friction so the shifting is smooth. It in fact SYNCRONIZES the gears.

Coast to Coast Dealer Services states they do not cover this.

I asked for a manager, but was refused on at first. the rep Richard finally stated he would get me a manager.

1 hour later a manager called me back:Terry Bartin of Coast to Coast Dealer Service states the I would have to pay $1000.00 to remove the transmission so that they can sent a person to the shop to see if the Syncro is the real issue. It is is NOT, they will cover the fixing of the tranny, but if it is, then I would have to pay the full cost to fix and replace the parts. He offered to fax me the terms of service again as I never received this part with my Welcome letter. NO WHERE in the terms do it state that it does not cover Syncro's. He states that they do not cover Wear and Tear. I explained again to Terry that the car only had 100, 100KM on it. He rebundeled stated that Syncros, can go any time.

I think that Coast to Coast Dealer Service should have been more specific as to part they do not cover. The used escape tactics to avoid to fix an issue. They offer a warrenty, but then told me that they would not cover a part of the Transmission.

I do not recommend this company and still looking into a Legal Action as their terms of what is covered is not specific and is broad in nature.

I requested that they give me back my money and I was told that they would not give me a Penny back, or even a percentage of the time that was not covered.

This company ripped me off, failed to resolve this matter and work in good ethics.

Re:
Lighthouse Resort and Marina, Isleton, Ca.
I recently stayed at this RV park. I paid the extra $9. per day fee for 50 amp service and sewer hookup. The arrangement of the hookups are maybe there is 50 amp and maybe not. Maybe you can back in or maybe you drive in and use long cords and hoses run across your site. The park also has power issues. I didn't get a 50 amp site, in fact I didn't use any power at all. I tried to get a simple refund of the $9.00 per day 50 amp fee but the park refused.
Poor park to member customer relations. Coast to Coast can't afford a $27. refund for service not provided.

Coast to Coast Grand Getaways Scam

Attended a travel club presentation at Little Bay Harbor Resort. High pressure scam artisits. Promised discount weeks and cut rate cruises? These guys were nasty. All lies, you can get the same travel for less online without paying the crazy prices they offered. Some guy named Billy Wannyn offered us the same package for $2995 that another guy ( Pete I think) had just tried to sell us for $6995, what a rip off.

GrandGetaways, literally all you do on here is post the same impersonal comment on every single complaint. You don't actually address any of them or answer any of the questions people are asking. You tell people to call you, but you know for a fact that you will make them jump through hoops and will not really answer them anyway.

As a fact, not a matter of opinion but a concrete fact, Grand Getaways/Coast to Coast/Every other name they go by, IS, indeed, a Scam. That cannot be legimiately debated.

Coast to Coast Grand Getaways Refused to refund renewal fee

after my travel club was paid for, I decided not to renew because they have never been able to fulfill one request. I was receiving better deals outside of their club. They harrassed me for months about renewing, and although I said no, they charged my visa anyway. They said that I signed up for auto renewal. I told them that I did not. I spoke to several so-called supervisors, then the guy John that I had hung up on previously called to tell me that I authorized the charge. They were very nasty and unprofessional. I am getting my refund through my Visa. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE CROOKS!

They say they're not trying to sell you anything and then they try to trick you into stating that you agree to buy the membership, even though you never once agreed to it. They try to railroad you. (This is all via phone call, I have never attended a presentation, and, after reading all the comments all over the internet, am glad for that.) I was called by a representative a couple of weeks ago who kept saying "I'm not trying to sell you anything, " (which was definitely part of the script) yet she tried to sell me something the whole time and then tried to smoothly trick me into agreeing to pay $249 on the spot. When I said I needed to talk it over with my other half, she put her supervisor on the line, and he told me the exact same things, nearly word for word, as she had. Neither one was willing to let me off the call without agreeing to pay right then and there. I finally managed to get off the phone (WITHOUT giving them my money), but immediately after the call I had SEVEN EMAILS (all identical) from the representative and have received 3-4 (also all identical) more every single day since. I did give them my email address and was fine with giving that out, but expected I would receive one email. All of the emails are exactly the same, furthermore, they never once mention in the emails the airline tickets they said they would be sending me, and they quote me a $100 higher price than they had quoted on the phone.

And by the way, apparently you are far from alone. TONS of people have been charged to their credit cards with this company despite having never once authorized it. I didn't give them my credit card info, but after all that I've read about them lately, I sincerely would not be shocked if they found a way to obtain it and charge it anyway. Seriously. If anyone would be low enough to do that, it's clearly them, factually speaking.

They promise you the moon then when you look into scheduling a vacation, the prices are no different than if you booked it yourself on the internet. Coast to Coast Grand Getaways Membership untruthfull

Two years ago we joined a campground membership called Coast to Coast. We were new to the retirement RV traveling. We learned that memberships like this are a ripoff. Even if you lived down the street from your home park you can never recoup the amount of money you pay for the sign up fees and the yearly dues and the yearly dues of your home park. You pay, pay, pay and get nothing in return. They claim their campsites are only $10 a night but they don't tell you how awful some of their campground resorts are. They don't tell you, you can only stay 7 nights in a row at their campgrounds, so if you want to stay longer you have to go find another campground. They don't tell you your home park charges yearly dues on top of their yearly dues.
Campclubs like Camp Club USA or Passport America or KOA charge a small yearly fee and offer some of the most beautiful campgrounds in the country.
Don't be suckered into the Coast to Coast or Western Horizons memberships it is a ripoff.

we stayed at a place in anna maria last week that coast to coast
rented to our family. we needed at 5 bedroom house to accomadate us and they lead us to believe this place was a bedroom when we got there we had a surprise of only 4 bedrooms also this place was next door to the owner that kept coming over and his wife was rude no electric can opener, the pots bottoms were all scratched and everything in the house was either walmart or yard sale quality. this was the worst experience our family has ever had and we have been doing this for 7 years. coast to coast anna maria give us the cold shoulder and was not willing to try to make anything good come from this my family and i would strongly suggest not to use coast to coast. it really took alot of the weeks goodness out of it.

Coast to Coast Grand Getaways Company will not offer discount vacations as promised

Grand Getaway Vacations when in their seminar sales meeting (St Maartin) offered discount vacations, airfare, timeshare, car rentals. All have been totally false to date. After taking many vacations over the last 2 years, I have always found a better price elsewhere. Grand getaway Vacations is a RIP OFF. Do Not! buy into this vacation service! They talk about huge savings but do not deliver.
This is my opinion based on numerous dealings with Grand Getaway Vacations or whatever they have slightly changed their name to this is a shoddy business you should stay away from.

Grand Getaways Vacation Club along with Grand Incentives and TRVL, Inc are scammers. As a matter of fact TRVL, inc (operating out of our local mall) is no longer a business registered in Colorado. These three agencies work together taking money for a service they don't provide. Please do not purchase the Grand Getaways Vacation Membership.

I am also a victim of Grand Getaways Club from Margarita Island, Venezuela. I bought their membership on April 11, 2005 and I has never being able to enjoy their "wonderful discounted offers"... Grand Getaways is pure FRAUD / SCAM. Last year, on February 2007, I went back to their offices in Margarita Island, Venezuela and I met with one of their representatives for international bookings, she re-explained the contract to me and assured me that it was valid and each year I had the chance to obtain for free or at discounted rate all the clauses of the written contract. In fact, I tried to contact them few times by emails after my return to Canada (directly to a representative in Margarita Island, through the email: gandgetawaysvenezuela@hotmail.com, I exchanged emails with a lady called Graciela Calderin, responsible for International Bookings) requesting a quote for several discounted offers documented in my written contract (cruise departing from Florida, hotels in North America, etc) and they were never able to deliver. They told me they had strict conditions to do the bookings so I could not benefit from my contact at that time... then, I tried again to book while respecting ALL the conditions, and they quoted a cruise with Carnival at a higher price than what I could have got it on-line by myself. Notice that I was supposed, based on my written contract, to get that Cruise for FREE and only had to pay the taxes and an small accomodation fee.

I bought Grand Getaways in St. Martin and according to the US office they are not connected, yet now I am a member. I purchased this travel club to eliminate my traveling problems,(which is what they promise). When I called for airfare, it was priced higher than right off the internet. They had no travel locations available when requested, yet the other travel agencies had plenty. They say they can sell your timeshares with no problems, yet after you pay the money you don't hear from them again. If you call the sales office after purchasing, they claim they satisfy 87% of the time, and I guess I fell into the 13%.

Resort Solutions (supposedly the company that sells your timeshare for you) is probably a one person office that takes your money and doesn't even say thank you. When you call her from the Grand Getaways office to see if she can sell your timeshares, she tells you that they would sell easily because you paid so little, add a couple thousand and in 3 months they would be gone. Six months later, she states they are overpriced and won't sell.

Grand Getaways is a big rip-off.

I just learned that this company has been charging my credit card a yearly fee for a membership I cancelled years ago. I originally signed up with Cheap Tickets and then my membership automatically transferred to this company. I am an elderly woman and have had many health problems and have regrettably not been paying enough attention. I talked to a representative from the company today, and he told me that there's no way they could have charged my card without my knowledge but that is not true.

If you want a good travel club go to AAA and you don't have invest thousands of dollars for nothing at Grand Getaway. They take your money and when they get that they come back and beg for more telling you have to pay or you get nothing. What did your original thousands of dollars get you? Answer is absolutely nothing except promises that are not even known about the next time they talk to you. I believe the company send their sales team to brain wash school to get their morals and humanity removed because all they care is getting your money in their pockets. Don't get me wrong cause Grand Getaways is not the only scamming company out there. If it sounds like their offers sound to good to be true you can bet they probably are!

I hope they can find some recourse with Grand Getaways. I am still hoping for a full refund of the $4, 500.00 payment for this service that was useless and I never could use.

I am just now finding out that we got scammed. Was ready to schedule that cruise, but absolutely NO ONE will answer a phone. Would like to have gotten into the law suit some folks were setting up about 3 years ago. If anyone is still acting on that. please let me know, I'll join you.

I too got burned in Nassau Bahamas in May 2011 for $4, 500. I was promised "huge discounts" and "exclusive vacation properties" available only to members. I have not been able to find one bargain or advantage for a vacation that can't be found cheaper on Orbitz, Travelocity, or Cheap Caribbean, etc. I made a claim with the Florida Atty General and Florida Dept of Consumer Services, and was told the “seller”, Sarasota Company (Coast to Coast Grand Getaways) was not responsible as an "agent" for the actual owner "Apex International Marketing" in the "untouchable" Bahamas. I'm still paying for this worthless mess of a "club" with absolutely no use or benefit. Please let me know if anyone had any success with getting any satisfaction or even a refund.

Last year, Mark Biondi told me that if I paid a one time fee or $398.00 or something I don't remember the exact amount... Anyway I was told we would never have to pay maintenance again. Now I am getting phone calls that if I pay another two years blah blah... I am not happy.. He flat out lied to me...

Does anyone know how to JUST GET OUT OF THE MEMBERSHIP? They offer to sell it, then say they cannot do that, double talk after double talk, I cannot believe you are truly locked into this for LIFE. Any ideas?

I am so very unhappy I ever signed up for their "service" or "membership" whatever they choose to call it. It is perpetual hell. Harassing phone calls every time renewal is coming, threats of ruining your credit if you don't pay. They now are offering me the grand opportunity to pay $460 for the "right" to put my membership on hold forever. I've already paid thousands of useless dollars! Biggest regret - ever!

Dear "Not falling for what you are selling, "

Would you be willing to contact us with your contact info and what presentation you attended? You can email me at qualityassurance@gograndgetaways.com. We'd like to set a few things straight. So you know, it is company policy to only charge a credit card when a customer has given us permission.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

My husband and I attended a travel seminar attempting to sell discounted travel to us. Immediately when we arrived I told my husband these are sleazy people. However, we sat down and watched the presentation. On arrival they asked each of us for our drivers license and a major credit or bank card. Shame on us. We foolishly complied. Everything that these people are selling is a scam. First, they scam you by getting your credit and or bank card number. Next they attempt to sell you 6-8 weeks in a timeshare in various places along with "discounted" travel expenses. Well nothing is in writing. Not how much of a discount you will get nor where the timeshare locations are or the condition the timeshares are in all for $12, 000.00. These crooks lie blatantly to get you to come to the presentation by telling you that even if you do not buy anything you will get two free airline tickets and two nights in a Marriott Hotel anywhere in the Continental U.S. through another company called Smart Travel & Incentives Incorporated. All that is another scam to get you to send anywhere from $100.00 to $300.00 by sending in the initiation fee for your free travel gifts. That is not all. I had bogus charges these people made on my credit card on my statement. If you get a postcard asking you to go to one of these presentations call the police. These crooks sold this nothing of a deal to two senior citizens in the meeting my husband and I were also in. I still regret not getting up and telling those old people that they were being ripped off for $12, 000.00. I am reporting these people to the states attorney's office in Citrus County Florida for exploitation of the elderly and extortion and credit card fraud. Beware and call the cops.
