On April 10th 2024 I called cogeco to change my plan. I was paying $137 for their 120 ultrafibe unlimited internet package. They were offering 360 ultrafibe unlimited to new customers for only $89.99 mnth. I was irate being a loyal customer for years I couldn't understand why I was paying almost $60 more for 1/2 of what they were only charging for $89.99. So I told the fellow I wanted a better deal or I was leaving cogeco. I was told starting that day I would be prorated at $89.99 for my April bill instead of the $137.85. So he charged me 71.99 for mnth of April and than $89.99 here on in. I was also given a credit of $115 and change for good measure. I was happy woth the new charges. So he combined April and May's bill and it totalled $52.42 and for June it would be $90.79mnth. 4 incompetent people from billing did not understand their own billing and decided I also still owed $137.85 for April despite the changes that were referenced with totals from prorates and credits with dates reflecting how he came to only $52.42 with combined mnths of April and May. I waited hrs to speak to someone, when I finally got threw they told me I needed the billing department which was the number I initially called to begin with so was on hold another 1/2 hour to only then explain their mistake and insistence of owing something I dod not owe to then not be understood and hung up on. I marched down to cogeco at pen centre to be told they couldn't deal with my situation, they too did not understand so I asked to speak to supervisor. Was told not in and if she was she would only tell me to call billing. They don't deal with that at the store. I called back waited again to be told I was wrong and hung up on again. Called back and had apology for the disconnect and told I owed wjat theu insisted so again I asked to speak to manager this time. Procedure is I now need to wait 2-3 days to have one call me back. Wow, this is what they call better customer service, waiting on telecommunications instead of speaking to someone in person, playing phone tag and being rudely hung up on. I am irate at this point. Haven't paid current balance because they are telling me I owe them $230 wjen I only owe $92.61 because now I have been also charged late fees for a bill I already paid before due date. This current bill isn't due till the 16th of this mnth which is my June bill that carries me till July 3rd 2024. I hope the hell that the manager is not as ignorant, or incompetent as their staff. I want to change services already over this. Not a happy camper, very upset right now. They haven't even went to the staff member who dod the changes to understand what he did. I cannot remember the fellow name. I will be writing down names from here on in. That's my take from all this and possibly not dealing with such an incompetent company again. They do not respect their customers amd their customer service and billing department are not very sharp to say the least if that cannot do such simple calculations that are quite clear to understand. Not sure how this can help anyone but Cogeco does not care about their loyal customers at all!
Claimed loss: Apparently $137.85 if not corrected and my respect and loyalty as a cogeco customer.
Desired outcome: Dealing with someone in this company who actually has a brain of some sort and can straighten this out. Represent those who were completely incompetent and ignorant by hanging up the phone on me, not once but twice.
