On Sunday 3/1/09 at about 2:40 PM, I waited for about 15-20 minutes for service to purchase new eyeglasses. One Salesman was occupied with a customer and his 2 companions. A 2nd employee who earlier told me to indicate when I was ready, quickly disappeared into a back room when I did. A female salesperson was squatting down looking thru a drawer for about 10 minutes as we stood nearby waiting for service. We she stood up, I asked her when we would get some service, she quickly returned to her squatting position. I thought that perhaps we were on "Candid Camera, "or the "Twilight Zone."I left the store and then bought the glasses at Sterling Optical.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had a similar experience, but waited. The salesperson, when she got around to helping me, was very enthusiastic and helped me to select almost 20 pairs of glasses to try on. When I received the call to pick up my new glasses, I called to confirm their Sunday hours. When I arrived, I was quickly handed my glasses and no offer followed to fit them. When I noticed that the edges had not been polished I was told that the optician had left early and was given the hours that I could return for fitting and polishing. Remarkably, they have no one licensed to adjust glasses on Saturday, so I returned the following Sunday. Guess what? The optician had left early, AGAIN. I was told to come back. When I asked for a better solution I was given the owner's name and told to call her on Monday. I did...got an answering machine and left a message. No one returned my call for 4 days, so when the lens popped out of my new glasses, I called again. Still no response. Absolutely the worst experience in my 50 years of wearing glasses!
I have been wearing the Cohen Optical "Clear Comfort" contact lenses for about 13 years, and had been very happy until last year - when I received several boxes that stuck to my eyes and almost tore my cornea when I removed them. The lenses are supposed to be 14 day lenses that are removed every night, but I only got 1 day use out of them.
I returned the unopened boxes for replacement lenses. Some of the date coded boxes seem fine, while others feel terrible.
Either something has gone wrong with their manufacturing process and quality control, or they have changed the lens.
I spend $400 to $500 a year on contact lenses, but plan to switch from Cohen starting today when I see my new eye doctor. The staff at Cohen are a bunch of clowns.
I went to Cohen's to get a new Rx and lenses because I had a good experience there when I bought my current frames. This time, however, I received the WORST SERVICE EVER! First, they sold me a package deal even though I wanted to keep my current frames. The package also came with contacts, but I can only wear disposable. They said this was fine, and that I'd get 30 days of disposable lenses with the package deal. This did not happen. When my contacts came in, they charged me an additional $80.00. This is for 30 days of contacts! AND they only ordered a box for my right eye. I HAVE TWO EYES! THEN, they cut my lenses wrong, TWICE! The lens sticks out so far that it creates a prism and I see a kaleidoscope of colors whenever I'm under track lighting. The second time they messed up the lenses, she told me there was "nothing she can do about it." Nothing? Really? So, you're telling me you're incapable of doing your job? Awesome. I'm glad they post a BS mission statement. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS.
I totally agree with you. Me & my wife went for eye exam at Woodbridge, NJ location. I called them around 3PM & I was told to come at 3:30PM. We went there on time. We had 2 people ahead of us. But couple of people came after us & they were taken before us. We had to wait more than 2 hours. Also the doctor asked me weared question about my glasses if they were made outside USA. Also they were asking for additional fee for eye exam, which was none when I spoke to them on phone. After eye exam, I had to wait another hour for my eye glasses. Overall the service was very lousy & total rip off. They even broke my wife's name brand expensive frame, cost us over $300 about 3 years ago. Now, they are telling me that it worth only $0.00 after 3 years. I even complained to BBB of NJ. I will not recommend any one to go there. They are not professional.
7 TIMES HAD TO GO BACK TO CORRECT MY GLASSES AND STILL DO NOT HAVE A PAIR.
CANNOT SEE CORRECT VISION DUE TO INCOMPETENT WORKERS.
AFTER SEVERAL TIMES RETURNING TO RECEIVE GLASSES WITH TWO SCRIPTS WRITTEN WRONG BY IN HOUSE OPTOMOTISTS, AND FORGETTING TO PUT CRIZAL, NO SCRATCH, BREAKING LENSES ESPECIALLY FRAMLESS AND GLASSES CUT WRONG WITH SCRATCH MARKS, GOING TO MY OPTOMOLOGIST AND HANDING THEM ANOTHER SCRIPT CORRECTED BY THE THIRD TIME I THEN AGAIN RECEIVED GLASSES WITH FRAMES NOT FITTING CORRECTLY WITH FORGOTTEN CRIZAL, FINALLY, I CALLED PRE PAID LEGAL AND HAD A LETTER WRITTEN TO OBTAIN A REFUND FOR THE INCOMPETANT WORK DONE AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN . TRAVELING BACK AND FORTH 50 MILES IS THE CLOSEST STORE TO MY RESIDENCE, I HAND NO OTHER CHOICE NOT TO ACCEPT ANY MORE GLASSES REDONE AND TO REQUEST A REFUND. THEY ALSO HAVE A NO REFUND SIGN IN THE STORE.
I AM A PREPAID LEGAL MEMBER AND HAD TO GET THEM TO WRITE A LETTER ON MY BEHALF FOR ME. A REFUND WAS ISSUED IMMEDIATELY . IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS LEGAL SERVICE YOU CAN ALWAYS TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT AND JUST PAY $35.00 FILING FEE.
I bought a pair of tom ford glasses and went there for them to put my prescription in them. I paid the deposit by check. When i called they told me my glasses were picked up by somebody that didn't have a receipt or id.
Went to Cohen Optical because of new union coverage. Eye exam and one year of contacts fully covered according to coverage. Because their doctor diagnosed an astigmatism which I have never been previously diagnosed, ( Wearing contacts for 40 years, last exam 7 months ago, no astigmatism) my coverage did not cover lenses or exam. Cost me $160. for exam. Manager will not resolve issue.
