not receiving books
my husband has submitted a check along with the membership form for a year back in march of 2014 and along with that he had submitted a note on the form with our new address in asheboro, nc. and that we had moved from seagrove, nc. your company has been sending membership forms to our od address in seagrove, nc. well my husband had called cooking club of america and explained to them that we had moved, . i only got june's issue of cooking club book. i have yet to receive may or july's issues yet. this is almost the end of july. I wish to either receive may and july's issues of the book or i want my money returned in full payment. if i do not get my issues or my money in full payment back, i will not hesitat to report your company to the better business borough.

membership promises never made good
They sent me information that someone recommended me for membership. I felt special. Sent in my one year dues for one year.
Then they sent me a letter for 2 years of dues. They do offer to cancel if you are not satisfied> I did not complain.
They did mail me a magazine 4 times a year.Where they seriously falsified their clam was stated that they would send me products to test and I could keep them. Never happened in two years. They always send me information on things to buy. Also I would receive several gift which looked cheap if I pay for a lifetime membership.I kept getting Email and US mail constantly to purchase something. Some of the packages had guns and rifles on the back. What's guns got to do with cooking unless you hunt. I am soooo glad I paid with a money order because they ca not deduct anything I don't trust Besty Wary
The lifetime membership in my opinion is a scam. They promised a lot of cookware and other stuff. I did not get caught up in that because they did not send me any products to test as promised. The only ripped me off for $24.00, but at first the said it was twelve.
Then they sent me a bill for $24.00 this would be the only amount they would except. This was under the pretense of saving paper and postage. Every time I receive a correspondence they wanted money for this or that. They sent me cookbooks to review and purchase. I sent the first one back at my expense and cancel the next five. I did receive my 4 time a year magazine but the content was very poor. Lots of advertisements and recipes submitted by members which were not appealing. All I can say is "BUYER BEWARE"This is a scam big time. I did not renew my membership they stopped and removed me from the mailing which they sell your address.
I paid for a lifetime membership with cooking club of america in 2002 and cannot seem to get my magazines from them and cannot get them on the phone. Im going to file a bbb and ag complaint
sending items not ordered & I have to pay to return them
I am a member of the cooking club of America. They sent me a colander that I did not order in January and I had to return it. Now they have sent me a piece of jewelry that I did not order and expect me to return it using my own money.
replacing a damaged pot
Hi, my name is angela turner and I am a lifetime member.in the past you had sent me a beautiful pot n pans setwith a life time warrenty. The bottom of my small pot that you would use to make soup, or other things "the bottom can off! What is the procedure for replacing that pot without me being charged? I've been a lifetime member for years, please help! The set is the stainless steel set. Thank you for all your help in this matter.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I also have the stainless steel set. I have used & loved it for 10 years. This past week the handle came off of the medium sized pot.
Imagine my astonishment when I discovered it was GLUED on!
Just give me the name or type of glue they used and where I can get some of it. I would be satisfied with that.
false membership
Just received a bill for $3 for a "12 month membership" that I never ordered — I have absolutely no interest in anything related to cooking. I almost called my local state's attorney for advice, but instead I went to their ("cooking club of america's") website and found their customer service number - [protected]:30am-8pm m-f, 8am-4:30pm sat.). I had to enter my "member number", then a couple of menu choices ("invoice", "cancel a membership") and talked to a real person. I told her in no uncertain terms that I never agreed to this and to take me off their list immediately. She assured me i'd receive no more bills, and tried to apologize. I told her, "good luck working for people like that," and hung up.
If I were retired and had a lot of time, i'd report the fraud to my local state's attorney (or whomever they tell me to), ignore all the invoices until they sent them to a collection agency, then i'd sue them and the collection agency in a class-action suit. But I don't have a lot of time, and # like this isn't worth it.
Maybe we need some of the old 'frontier justice' when stuff like this shows up.

SUGGESTION :
to nip this completely follow up your tele conversation with a CMRRR. Tele records even tho' they announce it's being recorded for whatever have a way of "disappearing" when it's you who needs it to prove them guilty of something. CMRRR provides you with your own record.

failure to honor request
After emailing cooking club of america requesting they cease mailing cookbooks due to me not being financially able to pay for them, I received an email stating that they were willing to decrease the cost if I continue to receive the cookbooks. They continue to mail books with a return label to send them back at my expense. I have paid for two since my request, but have decided that I will not pay for any more, nor return them at my expense. I will be more than happy to return them their merchandise, but they must pay the postage. I feel as though they are trying to force their product on me after I have requested they cease the mailing.
product test
I am a life member of cooking club of america. This would be my second time getting a product to test, my first was a pair of scissors (cutter). Gave back my response and never heard from them again, until I emailed and told them that I have contacted my state atty. About their company, then I got a email saying that they would send out a test product, now...

They already gave me a lifetime account with my married name the same above and a different membership # and I made my 1st payment a few months back of $11.99 out of our m/c. Now they are given me another card with the same name and saying the 1st payment is $28.08. Now I am not paying nothing until I find out where my 11.99 went to. I sent back the cooking books as a friend of mine gave me all hers as she once was a member so I keep returning those. So I want to join but want to know if and why our payments are more now and our account has changed. Please help, thank you! Maria

I AM A LIFETIME MEMBER OF COOKING CLUB OF AMIERICA, Member #[protected]. I paid all my dues, used to receive the magazines for free as a lifetime member as well as my choice of testing products. Now come to find out that the website no longer exist and it was changed to SCOUT.COM; which I have access to but I don't recall ever signing up with them, but my information from COOKING CLUB was transferred to SCOUT.COM, but the kicker is that I'm no longer a LIFETIME MEMBER, AND NOW i HAVE TO PAY MORE FEES IN ORDER TO GET ANYTHING FROM THIS WEBSITE.
I am extremely disappointed with COOKING CLUB OF AMERICA, NOW I KNOW THAT THIS WAS A SCAM ALL ALONG. If there was a way that I could get my money back from these "A*&%$#", I would, because I spend a total of $299.00 for a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP that I NEVER GOT TO USE, because the magazines that I received, I had to pay for those SEPARATE from my LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT, BECAUSE AT THE TIME I WAS NOT A FULL TIME MEMBER. And yes I got taken in by Scammers.
THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THIS COMPANY TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED, IF ANYONE HAS ANY INOFRMATION REGARDING THIS, PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL: EVERGARA2@YAHOO.COM. THANK YOU.

I'm still waiting for my coupon card. Cooking Club of America should be ashamed of themselves that they associate themselves with a sham company like this. SHAME ON YOU. I've been sick for a long time and just remembered about the coupon card. Now I am upset with Cooking Club of America. They know better. That just goes to tell me that they are not a reputable company themselves. I will never ever do any business with them ever in my life and I will spread the word about the type of companies they contract with to be in their envelope of advertisement and so called special offers. Very BAD PR.

When I joined I recieved a ceramic knife and have never recieved either the grater and $ 100.00 grocery gift card nor have I recieved any of the magazines with the exception of the very first "free" one.
I have talked with customer service on 3 different occasions and was told how sorry y'all are AND was ASSURED that EVERYTHING was orderedand would be recieved in 7 to 21 days.
My question is, WHERE ARE THEY? How many 7 to 21 days do y'all need?
I expect a reply at your earliest convenience .
Thank you

When can I expect to receive the grater and coupon card? If you do not want to send the items as PROMISED by Cooking Club of America, the just send me my $24.00 refund Check! ASAP. I will be waiting for an answer.
When I signed up, I sent a check for $24, even tho' I thought that was a bit high. The day the check was mailed, I recieved another letter from you'll saying, we heard you loud and clear and you only have to pay $12 to join. I have recieved my first magazine and my firt book to preview, but have not recieved my 3 free gifts for joining. Just wondering what may have happened. Were they lost in the mail?

keep getting bills for books I didn't receive
I have been a life member for awhile and have never received products for testing and keep getting bills for books I didn't receive I did pay the bills after they turned them over to a collection but have written and emailed the company with no answer so if you are smart you will have nothing to do with this company. Big scam.

on-line scams / fraudulent practices
Clicked on 30 day free trial for magazine to cooking club of america, within 7 days prior to receiving magazines I received a bill/invoice for $12.00 for annual dues. Stupid me I paid it! Then received 2nd bill for unpaid dues of $12.00, e-mailed them with ck #, date received, & date they cashed ck! They claimed to update my account, but did not! E-mailed again demanding membership cancellation & refund. They in turn sent me 3 vouchers ($12.00 ea.) for lifetime membership. Documents stated "I would never pay anything ever again for this offer. They lied again, they billed me $337.00. Tried repeatedly to cancel this membership, but still receiving bills. E-mailed to & fro demanding resolution, on 12/28/2010 it was cancelled (they say). On 12/30/2010 they verified via e-mail bill was removed paid in full, & it would not go on my credit report or collections. I feel this is not over yet.

I received an invoice in the amount of $24.00 for a two year membership to your cooking club. I was not aware I was required to join for two years and therefore want to cancel my membership! Patricia Oberg [protected] Billing Ref LSFK9737
I recived membership, cookbooks, magazines, sample supplys, that i had thought were to end after so many recived with a gift. I did recieve the lousy gift, however they stated to send the same ones back to me. I sent them back and they keep coming before i can pay for the first one! Iam getting married in September, and i do NOT have the money to keep sending them back! I do Not want to be a member any more and i want my membership funds back. i think that is quite fair after all the crap i keep getting!
I recieved a bill from this company for services I never signed up for. I have never even heard of this company. They were even sending threats to turn it over to collections! --
never received products promised
I paid for membership in may. Two months have passed and my "free gifts" which were to be sent with full payment were never received. Today I received an offer for a lifetime membership for $350 less the $24 i've already sent them. This is when I realized i've been scamed. I asked them for a full refund, which they claim takes 4-6 weeks. I am concerned I will not receive this given numerous complaints i've read on the internet. I am also concerned they will try and bill me for items i've neither ordered or received, which is apparently what this company does.
same thing is happening to me. They promised free gifts after paid two year membership. Havn't received anything except another bill and a lifetime membership offer. They also promised that I could be a product tester with paid membership, have not received anything.
fraudulent company
Cooking club of america says they will sign you up for a life account, but what you don't know when you sign up is that they keep billing you for life! I have cancelled by mail many times, to no avail. Then I contacted them by return mail (when they emailed me) and there were never any return answers. I don't care if they send me to a credit collector, I...

I have repeatedly sent letters, returned merchandise, e-mailed requests to discontinue service I didn't request no response merchandise and membership information continues to arrive.

I joined the Cooking Club of America because I liked their magazine and some of their information. Unfortunately, they continue to send me unsolicited merchandise even though I've written and told them to stop.
According to the Distance Selling Regulations, they clearly state that if you've been sent unsolicited goods you are entitled to treat them as an unconditional gift and do with them what you choose. You are certainly not required to pay for them. Any attempt to demand payment (by threatening means or otherwise) is unlawful. Yet they continue to harass me and threated to submit the cost of a knife they sent me to a Collection Agency. I am reporting them to the Attorney General's Office in both my State and in Minnesota where they're located. BEWARE of this company!
I did not prder any cookbook but was sent one. Plan to return it and expect credit. Am 87 years old and have an ample supply of cook books at this stage. Doo not send me any more items unsolicited.
Mary O'Donnell Act: #[protected] Billing ref. #LPQK6385
I have repeatedly asked you not to send any more cookbooks, but they keep on coming . I shall refuse or not pay for any unsolicited books I receive in the future.rsalisbury003@nycap.rr.com
I too received unsolicited items. If they were to include postage paid return lables with the items, you can certainly send them back. However, the return is at your cost. I refuse to return any items they send without prepaid return posteage.
An old law professor I had used this example for such scams. Let's say someone sends you an elephant with the instructions, return it to X Company or pay $1, 000, 0000. My professor said do you think you would be required to return it? No. Let it roam around and cause all kinds of damage for X Company to repay. If you did not order it, keep it for free or let X Company deal with the consequences.
Good for you for reporting them to your state's attorney general.
how to get your complaint satisfied
There have been a lot of complaints concerning this company. When checking them out through the bbb I found information that may be able to help you. Here is the web link that shows their address, phone number and other information. The company is national membership however if you scroll down they have many dba names. One of which is cooking club of america. Bbb has helped many people with billing and membership issues from this company. Perhaps they can help you too.

Wished I would have checked this out before sending in my $24 for my two year subscription. Was going to be a product tester, received only the ceramic paring knife and the first in a series of cookbooks to view for 30 days. I do like the magazines but will not go any further now that I have read all the complaints listed here. I would not even spend the money to become a lifetime member. I want to thank all of you who have listed a complaint. Of course now they are saying I will receive the free cheese grater AFTER I get book 2 in the series of cookbooks. So I know that will never happen and of course I will never see the $100 gift card. Again, thanks to all who listed complaints.
I joined the cooking club of america, and I am currently making payments for my life membership, I am two payments away from being paid off, at which time I am supposed to receive a set of supposedly awesome pots and pans.
In the year and a half that I have been a member, I was sent a cook book, that I promptly returned, they told me too, that they did not receive the book back, When I called and talked to Jason, He said he would adjust the bill accordingly, and I have not ever received another bill.
I have been sent only one test product since signing on, and was not worth a nickle.
billing me for a membership I never signed up for
This company sent me a bill a couple of months ago... At the same time thanking me for my membership... On the bill they have my name incorrect, but close enough to make it look as if I may have signed up. The mailing address is incorret, but close enough to make it come to my address (amazing). Now they have sent the magazine, of course with the membership number they evidently want assigned to me. Of course I also received the membership dues invoice. If I visit the sight to tell them I never signed up or even visited the sight before, they will manage to get the correct name and address from the email I send them. What the heck am I supposed to do? Oh yes, by the way there is of course no phone number for me to contact them on the invoice or any other paper they managed to put into the envelope. Vera (the part of my name they got correct)

Diana, I'm also experiencing problems with Cooking club's magazines. The last magazine I received was for the Fall 2014 issue. Have not received the Winter / Holiday, nor Spring issues. I've been a member since Feb. 2009 - # [protected]. I sent them an email a few months ago addressing the issue of missed magazines, but they never replied. Very disappointed. I was going to renew my subscription, but am hesitant after reading many complaints of this same issue.
Missing Magazines
It has been more than a year since I have received a cooking club magazine and I don't understand because I am a Life Member. My membership number is [protected] and since I have paid my money for the Life Membership I would like to receive the pasted magazines as well as the recent ones too. I don't know what the problem is, but I want you all to uphold your commitment to me as I have done to the club. Thank you as I look forward to receive the magazines as well as the other items that I was promise.
