Non-delivery of 2 couches within agreed time.
Buyer beware. First week of November 2022 I placed an order for 2 couches. At that time I explained the importance of receiving my pieces on time as I would be having the first visitors to my new home in Lusaka arriving around New Years. Promised all would be fine. Paid my deposit. Assured I was placing my order in time/prior to the usual “industrial break” period. Then no information provided. After the agreed 8 week delivery period I reconnected with Sanibonani (the store in Zambia that works with/orders from Coricraft) and I’m informed - “only 1 couch was shipped/received” and “the other would not be ready/shipped until March, 2023!”. Excuses were made…but effectively, these 2 companies should not be in business. Totally upset, frustrated and disgusted by my experience. Mr. R.
Desired outcome: I don’t accept the excuses provided. I don’t want anyone else to experience the disappointment I have…the only option of “we will give you back your deposit” doesn’t address the mess I have been left in.
Online order taking 6 - 8 weeks
I refer to my order that was placed 22 Sept 2022 WWS022738. I am really dissapointed waiting 6 - 8 weeks for the cushions to be manufactured. No where does it sya online that it is going to take this long. We are already in the 7th week and i am tired of waiting and i do not get the feedback that i request from [protected]@coricraft.co.za. Phone nymbers doesnt work or they are not answered. I will never buy from Coricraft again pooor poor service.

Carpet
A year ago I bought a mottled green Persian design carpet. Cost about 5 or 6K.
It's lost its plushness. The wool keeps on coming out. The pattern has disappeared.
I live alone. No pets.
This is either a dud or not the quality I expect from coricraft.
I don't care that I have been told there is no guarantee. Does that mean your carpets are inferior.
My living area us like a coricraft showroom. I would like someone to come and see the carpet.

Quality of workmanship on couches
I purchased two couches from CORICRAFT Design Quarter in Johannesburg. I was not happy with the workmanship and took pics on the 25th July and sent to

After many follow up mails I finally got a response and the couch was picked up for repair. It was returned three weeks later but it still had very poor workmanship. I again took pics and sent to Kaylen on the 14th September. I again had to send follow up emails and finall Kaylen responded to my mail on the 07 October to say she will investigate and get back to me. Today is the 03rd of November and I am yet to hear back from Kaylen. This is really poor customer service and I would like to escalate this matter and have this resolved

Couches
I received a quote from Coricraft Cresta Mall from Vernon for couches. I paid in full. When my order was ready, they said I need to pay an additional R870 for delivery which they forgot to include on the quote. I did not budget for this extra R870 and when I ask for my money back so I can buy somewhere else, they want to charge me. Worse even, they are threatening to charge storage fees. Tell me where do I get the money I did not budget for when it's their mistake. This is ridiculous. Now they are promising not to charge me a delivery fee for future purchases. What makes them think I will want to but from them again?
Desired outcome: I want the couches delivered to my house. They should have told me about the additional R870 when I ordered the item. Now it's not my fault that they didn't
Delivery KVT019450
- I received a notification on Monday 26th that my delivery KVT019450 is scheduled for Tuesday 27th between 11h00 and 14h00
- I responded on email and whatsapp and phone to say that i will not be available between 13h00 and 15h00 on Tuesday 27th
- The delivery arrived around 14h00 on the 27th and failed
- Now trying to reschedule the delivery is near impossible
- Coricraft very rarely answer their phone, and when they do, they put thought to 2 other departments and then cut you off

Theft from customers by staff members
On the 1st of September 2022, I went to Coricraft shop in mall of the North, Polokwane to buy a couch that I had seen a week before that was on promotion, before I got there I had passed by credible connections to buy a tv box. when I got to coricraft I was holding the tv box in my hands and approached 2 ladies and one guy who were at the till and started talking about the couch, then I left my tv box at the till counter and go with one of the ladies to check the couch, so the couch was big and was told it doesn’t fit the normal door so I had this other guy who works with furniture to come and check if we cannot make a plan to make it fit.
While I was waiting for the I rushed to the toilet and when I came back I asked for my tv box and all of a sudden it has disappeared, the all started being difensive and started accusing me of leaving with it to the toilet, we went to the security control centre to check the cameras and I was spotted leaving my phone only. Apparently they do not have cameras in their shop and the manager did not even asked the staff questions. I was so disappointed and I ended leaving without buying the other couch I wanted. And for that matter there were no customers inside. I don’t know why a big shop like that does not have cameras and they are encouraging theft esp to their own staff.
Desired outcome: I want this matter be investigated and those staff should be desciplined
Poor workmanship and quality of work
I bought my 1st set of couches and it had alot of defects when I got it.
I send it back and I received a new set.
The 2 seater went in for repairs due to the arm sagging.
It came back and the arm started sagging again.
I also send it back and I informed them about the material that can be seen between the arm and the seat that has once again not been repaired when it was delivered today.
Desired outcome: The couch must be replaced.

So my complaint starts from the time I purchased my lounge suite from coricraft in 2020.
I was displeased with the time period of delivery , the responses and communication
Anyways when I received my set which I paid over 50k for I was unhappy about foaming and many marks
It took them very very long again to respond and send a team to assess.
Again this year around June - I contacted them as my couches are really bad - I was guaranteed by the salesman kayleen at the time that I would never have any marks on these couches and they have scotch guarded
My couches are filled with marks
I contacted Fiona again (this is who I was liasing with )- extremely bad service
Anyways after numerous emails she finally sent an assessor
To date - Nothing has been done .
No response , nothing
This service is appallling and what I saw on the store and was told and how the condition of these couches are are a complete misrepresentation
It’s less than 2 years old but looks over 20 years old
I have purchased many things in my life but have never come across such a bad product or service

We ordered two couches to be delivered at the end July. On the 29th July I received a phone call to say it had arrived. I told the sales lady that I would prefer to collect on the Monday. Again I received another phone call from another lady asked the same questions, I repeated myself.
We went to pay the balance at the store and the sales lady said she would phone ahead to tell them we were coming. We arrived and they went to fetch our couches. They did the scotch guard test and the couches had not been treated as per what we had paid for.. at this moment I am wasting my afternoon watching them treat the couches. This is totally unacceptable. Why not offer to do it and deliver since it was a Coricraft mistake
Poor customer service no delivery
It is over a month since order and full payment of couches. I sent proof of payment more than 5 times to eastrand staff and manager. I received sms of outstanding balance everyday yet i do not owe them. They never delivered my couches to this day. They never call me. I call them for updates but they give me excuses everyday about waiting for finace to allocate payment to effect delivery. Same story every single day. I will never buy anything from this company their services is pathetic.
Desired outcome: DELIVER MY COUCHES BEFORE 29 JULY OTHERWISE REFUND ME.
Couch repairs and damage to my house!
I would highly recommend any person NOT to buy from Coricraft, I have bought a couch at Coricraft in 2021 literally a year later one of the springs of my couch broke, when they came to pick up the couch, they have bumped my couch against the wall and broke off a piece of plaster. They said they will report the damage and come back to me, Eventually my couch is ready for delivery, I asked the what about the damage to my wall, they told me no, there were no damage report filled in, they know nothing about any damage, the response were they shall follow up, we agreed then on to deliver the couch 5 days from the phone call on a Monday, Monday came no couch delivered, Tuesday I phone them, eventually after numerous call they told me, they will only be available to deliver the couch one week later.
The service at Coricraft is absolutely pathetic and no sense of customer service and care. I would never buy any thing again from Coricraft and will absolutely discourage anyone to buy from them.
Desired outcome: To get all their ducks in a row and fix all damages made and time lost
Cresthill chest of drawers
I baught a Cresthill 5 drawer chest from Coricraft in Vanderbijlpark on the 22nd of November 2019 together with a lot of other funiture. Wihin a month of my purchase I notice that one drawer did not close completely and there was a problem with screws on the one handle of the chest of drawer.
I phoned your branch and they did replace the damaged chest of drawer without any problems . Please see your Invoice BVT000920 dated 08/01/20.
During 2021 the first handle on the new chest of drawer snapped at a screw. I visited your store in Vanderbijlpark. The lady phoned head office right away and I had been informed that they would order a new handle at a cost from manufacturers.
I visited the branch every month to check if handle arrived without any success.
I have been trying ever since to fix the problem myself. I have visited hardware stores all over the Vaal Triangle to try and find a handle, only to find out that the distance between the screws differs. In the meantime another handle snapped at the screws.
I am now asking you to please attend to my problem.
Chest of Drawers
A warning to all if considering buying a wooden products from CoriCraft. The handles they use are manufactured overseas and the distance between the screws is smaller than any handles we can get in Cape Town.
I had a handle snap at the one screw. All attempts to try to find a handle to replace it with from CoriCraft are merely ignored. A lady in their Canal Walk store where we bought our furniture keeps promising to find out if one can be found for us but her promises are never fulfilled and she never calls back as promised or replies to emails. I have tried contacting Customer Care but that too has proved useless. It seems CoriCraft simply don’t care!
It is not a simple case of buying 8 new handles from a hardware store as the handles in SA have a wider space between the screws which would mean having to have new holes drilled.
Very disappointed at the lack of after sales customer service!
Refund complaint
I filed for a refund at the kramerville store to be told it will take up to 7days for the money to reflect in my account. After 7days no money in my account so I called the store to be told the lady that assisted (debra) me if off and the refund form I filled in is nowhere to be found, as angry and furious as I was, another lady (thando) asked me to refill the form and send it back to them and that my query is being taken priority and has been escalated and I should receive my money in 2days and that has not happened, called the store again to speak to the store manager to be told she's busy in meetings all day I than opted to call customer service and spoke to a lady called olga she told she will escalate this further and she will give me a call back the same day to inform me on the status of the refund and that never happened. Called the warehouse again to be told I need to wait another 7-14days to receive my money. This unacceptable, incompetence staff and I as the customer has to take the fall for their internal mess, poor communication, this is unacceptable and would not recommend anyone to shop at coricraft store. I still have not received my money

Your team is just as frustrated as we are when it arrives back with pilling. I unwrap, check the unit, and always ask one of the delivery team to feel the pilling and confirm it is not corrected.
Coricraft informed us that pilling can be removed with a handheld shaving device, therefore we expect it back with no pilling, non-whatsoever.
The Store Manager and Sales Representative did not disclose the pilling information at the time of selecting fabric for manufacturing, it is the non-disclosure and withholding information regarding the purchase. Nor did we have the option to choose a different fabric (had we known.)
Dishonest by not informing customers upfront. The warranty or guarantee you refer customers to after they have lodged a complaint, is not highlighted at the order process when choosing fabric for manufacturing.
All along we have been dissatisfied about the non-disclosure, defects are often only discovered months later, hence the non-disclosure & misrepresentation.
You should know the basic consumer rights?
Right to fair and honest dealing, no. Just make sure the warranty kicks in before the pilling shows?!
Right to reasonable terms and conditions, no. pilling not disclosed at selection of fabric process.
Right to fair quality, no. Not all Coricraft fabric pills, there are superior options of fabric that does not pill
Right to choose, no. Upfront and clear info re pilling not disclosed for us to choose a different option.
Right to accountability by Supplier, no. Unprofessional.
Right to redress - the right to receive a fair settlement from misleading and deceptive sales & unsatisfactory services.
Right to consumer education, no. We have offered to do a lie detector at our expense to prove this.
Goods must be reasonably suitable for the purpose for which they are intended, good quality, useable and durable for a reasonable period of time. Having to shave a couch frequently (has taken Coricraft 3 attempts and not yet correct) is completely out of the ordinary.

Not receiving a proper quote on repairs
Refer to reference Coricraft-164717:Coricraft Quote : STA001677 where a request a quote on certain matters and they keep on coming back to me with half a quote. Clearly they did not read the mail and this is now going on for more than 3 weeks. See below mail. This is bad customer service.

Misleading and deceptive advertisements as well as bad service delivery
My issue is with Coricraft delivery and misleading advertisements . I have attached pics of the couch that I paid for on the 1st of April and haven’t received any updates on the delivery.
Coricraft has signs up saying that “IN STOCK AND READY TO BE DELIVERED” – not sure how this is possible as I am still waiting for delivery ? (this pic was taken out on SATURDAY 23RD April )
This is such a marketing scam and very unprofessional, deceptive and misleading.
It seems once you pay -your order gets put aside and there is no communication.
