Nightmare Shipping Experience with Cyclegear.com - Avoid at All Costs
So, I was all about to buy some sweet motorcycle gear from Cyclegear.com on a Monday afternoon. They advertised SUPER FAST 24-hour shipping, so I was pretty stoked to get my stuff on Friday and hit the road. But oh man, was I in for a frustrating ride.
Come Friday, my package still hadn't arrived. And when I tried to track it down, both Cyclegear and the shipping company, Ontrac, were completely useless. I had to wait on hold for what felt like hours just to talk to someone who didn't have any helpful information. And every time I thought I was getting somewhere, someone would just pass the buck and blame the other company.
Honestly, it felt like I was stuck in some kind of bureaucratic nightmare. And to make matters worse, Cyclegear even admitted that they'd had problems with the shipping company before. So why on earth were they still using them?!
Needless to say, I won't be going back to Cyclegear any time soon. If I can give them zero stars, I absolutely would. Save yourself the headache and buy your gear somewhere else.
CycleGear Review: Disappointing Shipping and Pitiful Customer Service
So, I made a purchase on CycleGear website back on 23-Feb-22. As of today, 09-Mar-22, I have still yet to receive my shipment, which has been in the hands of USPS for what feels like forever. According to CycleGear, which by the way, has been found to be not entirely accurate, international shipments should take no more than 5 business days to arrive at your doorstep. However, here I am today, 8 days and still counting, with my package still stuck in distribution hell, not even close to being shipped abroad.
Adding to my woes were the shipping charges, which were way too high for a package that I would consider small to medium and lightweight in nature, clocking in at an overpriced $40 flat rate, from which I am still uncertain if I'll need to pay an additional charge if they decide to use yet another local shipping company here in my country.
What really got my goat, was CycleGear's pitiful offer of $20 off my next purchase, which they might as well forget about because there 'ain't gonna be one'. I mean, seriously, is this their way of abdicating their responsibility towards more effective and customer-friendly business practices?
All in all, my experience with CycleGear has been one to forget. In comparison, FCP Euro's delivery service is as efficient as a well-oiled machine, with my orders being delivered within three to four days from the time I place my order, all at a cheaper cost for my heavy, engine spare parts.
For those of you out there who don't want to end up in the same boat as I have, I would suggest you steer clear of this seller.
CycleGear Warranty Policies Need Improvement - Be Upfront About Them!
CycleGear is a pretty amazing place to find great motorcycle products that don't break the bank. They have some really good prices and their selection is tough to beat. However, I recently had a bit of a run-in with their warranty policies regarding batteries.
Here's the deal - I had bought a battery for my trusty motorcycle which came with a lifetime warranty (woo hoo!). But I noticed that they also had a cheaper option without a lifetime warranty. Hmmm, I thought to myself, that's kinda strange. But I went ahead and opted for the cheaper version since I had heard good things about their warranties.
Now, a little while later, I had to get my battery warrantied since it was giving me a few issues. I went back to CycleGear and they replaced it no problem, like they had promised. But then, when I needed to warranty it yet again, they told me that they had discontinued the lifetime warranty on batteries! What gives? And, on top of that, they told me that if I wanted any warranty at all, I'd have to pay an extra $5 to get just a 2-year warranty!
Now, don't get me wrong - I feel like I got my money's worth with that first battery and the lifetime warranty that came with it. But it just doesn't seem right that they can call something a lifetime warranty and then turn around and say, "Just kidding!" I mean, I'm an auto technician and if my trusty Snap-On wrench breaks, I get a new one, no questions asked. And I used to work for a chain of shops that had a lifetime warranty on their brakes and mufflers - you just go to any one of their shops and you don't pay for pads or mufflers, just the labor to install it, for as long as you own your car.
So, if CycleGear is changing their warranty policies, then they really need to let people know so they don't get blindsided like I did. I mean, if a nationwide shop changed their policies and told people they no longer had warranty, they'd probably get sued for false advertising. So, come on CycleGear, do the right thing and be upfront about your warranty policies!
Review: Disappointing Experience with CycleGear – Poor Shipping and Customer Service
I recently made a big purchase from CycleGear amounting to $1,500. I was excited to receive my order soon, but things didn't go as smoothly as I expected. Firstly, I had a hard time finding the items I wanted in their store, so I decided to order online. The shipping time for most items took up to 5-6 days, which is quite longer than what I'm used to with other companies.
But the real issue started when I ordered a helmet that supposedly was "in stock," but it didn't arrive even after three weeks. When I inquired about the shipment, a representative informed me that they had to get it from a third party and send it to their warehouse before sending it to me. After two weeks of waiting, I was fed up and asked for a refund. But then, miraculously, the representative told me that my order had arrived at their warehouse and they will be able to ship it soon. I waited for another couple of days, but no one provided me with a tracking number, so I reached out again. This time, when I asked them for a tracking number, the representative gave me different tracking numbers for my other items that I didn't even ask for. I had to explain to them that the tracking was for my helmet with the order number again. But to my dismay, he told me that the helmet still hasn't been shipped. It was very frustrating, so I decided to cancel my order and order from a different company that promised to deliver it within three days.
Additionally, I tried to return some clutch levers that didn't fit my bike, but the site stated that they are not available for return. It made me think twice about ordering from Cycle Gear again unless there's no other option.
In this day and age, where most things get delivered in two days, it's not acceptable not to even get a tracking number for your orders. It's not rocket science, and it's a simple way to keep your customers satisfied. Nonetheless, I hope CycleGear can improve its process and live up to the promises they make on their website.
