Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] certificate

I am writing to make a formal complaint and the unsatisfactory service I've received from your college. I am a frustrated student and not happy with your service.

I enrolled with your college in 2014 to study ECD (Early Childhood Development (2 years Course), with an intention to get my qualification. I completed this course in due time and I'd like to say until today I have not yet received my Certificate.

We are in 2018 today and I have not yet received what I've studies for. everyone in all your branches including your Head offices probably know me by now; because I've been taken from pillar to post just to get my qualification certificate.

I've fully paid for this course and I have completed all the assignments as require. I've received a confirmation of all this on the Transcripts sent to me by one of your employees.

I've been told my certificate will be Posted to me within 7 working day, since last year February 2017 and here I am still waiting.

This is unacceptable. are all your correspondence students experiencing the same? clearly my issue is not been taken serious and this is affecting my career as I can't use this course as a reference without proof of qualification.

I've spoke to your Employees on too many accounts and no one knows anything, Except 'will send this to the relevant people', who is this relevant people? because I can not wait 3 year to get a certificate of a course I studied only for 2 year and fully paid it.

And you need to tell me all this above people could not even resolve this for me. who then will and when? The whole experience has been a total nightmare.

I kindly ask that this be attended ASAP because I can no longer wait for you people.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] refund

Student number: 438156

After struggling so much with damelin to cancel my studies due to their bad service, I am still facing another struggle to get my refund. I was told that they granted a cancellation without a refund. Please note that I was told that I will be charged 22% for cancellation. I don't know why they're saying that cancellation is granted without refund. I just did a credit check and it has come to my attention that my credit score is bad because I owe damelin. I am disputing that because I cancelled my studies with you. Please get this sorted out asap. No one responds to emails and the lines are congested? Really?

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] lack of supplying exam information and registrations on time

Good Day

I registered in 2017 to do a correspondence course through Damelin in SCMm (student number 435550).in October last year I received an invitation to write exams, so I registered, wrote 2 exams and there were no problems. nowt hat June exams are upon us and I have yet to receive any information or invitations from damelin, I decide to call the call centre and enquire what is going on? I am then told that the exams have already started and there's no way I can write now in June?!? how does that work? because Damelin failed to send me the invite and reg forms now I am being punished and have to suffer with the pressure of writing 4 exams in November? No, I cannot do that to myself, I am a mother and work full time and I would like proof that there was an email sent to me, regardless, I should be allowed to write as it is a poor service fault from your corrspondence/exam department!

I have had nothing but trouble getting holding of a timetable, past exam papers, and then when requesting a registration document, im told its too late.

Student no. 438623 I am a registered student with Damelin correspondence I paid the full amount into the schools account for the course that I am doing and they were supposed to transfer the outstanding balance to ICB for me to be registered for the exam that was in Feb 2018 till today that has not happened and I have failed to write exams as I'm not registered with ICB and Damelin is still keeping the money still in their account. I want to know what else I need to do here to get the money for the exams transferred to the college.I have all the correspondence of my communication with them sending me from pillar to post to get this resolved.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] damelin braamfontein [protected] no feedback and bad customer service

I registered at Braamfontein last year for second semester my sales consultant was Neo Mangwane, I was than transferred to Randburg were i was registered for the same modules, Now my account shows that i am in error because i was not deregistered at Braamfontein i have been calling Braamfontein since last nd nothing has been done on my account i was unable to register this year because the system blocked me.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] incompetent thieves!

Student No 424375. Paid in full for 2 courses. R11 106. Submitted assignments and passed. Wrote exams and passed. Damelin could not give me a final mark so now I cant do anything. They want to refund me after a year and now without my qualification. I feel like I have been robbed! The refund will not cover my exam fees and text books and efforts. Their material is over 10 years old and their managers - Reon vd Westhuizen, Alsion August, Ajanth, Ncumisa don't return calls or answer mails! I want to sue Damelin! I want my full refund with all fees that Damelin cost me! I lost a year and my funds! Damelin must fall you thieves! I have all the evidence to persue and take it further.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] exam registration form not send to me and dates changed on the website without communicating to me

good day I was not well from end of February 2018 until end of march in short I had to do a surgery during that period. When I came back I became busy with assignments only to find out that the dates of assignments and exam entry for June exams has passed and I only did that by looking on the website no communication send to us as paying students. I spoke to my tutor zanethemba Mngadi with no help but sorry. I paid my fees in full but they don't bother to communicate with us.
all I want is to write June exams. when I try to email assignments I don't get a reply to show they received them.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] no feedback - and urgency - no responsibility - waiting for final marks for 2017 november exams for the subjects below

Good day,

Student number : 423282

I have written the two subjects below in the November 2017 exams...
I had to submit the compulsory assignments to get the final mark to know if I have passed or to rewrite.

NBUS-AC1 Financial Accounting 1
NBUS-AC2 Financial Accounting 2

I am still waiting for feedback on the assignment marks and the final mark for both subject as I was advised it went for urgent marking.

I have sent emails to Nov2017resultsqueires. dcc. edu. za, d, [protected]@damelin. edu. za, Reon van der westhuizen and
Nontutuko Mciza as I advised that Nontutuko will make contact with me. No feedback or response and no one knows what is happening. The June 2018 exams is a few weeks away and don't know what is happening.

Can somebody please assist with the query, it is the last two modules I have to complete

Good day,

I am a student with DCC (430271), completing my Diploma in Financial accounting, registered For 5 modules. In June I submitted all my compulsory assignments via email however when results came back I only received results for 2 modules which where Accounting and Internal Auditing. Upon realizing that I am missing results for 3 modules I contacted the student center to try and get the issue resolved. I was in contact via email with a student consultant named Raquel, throughout June, July and August trying to get to the bottom of things. To cut the long story short around July she stopped responding to my emails.

Today I received my results & noted with great dispair that I "flunked" the modules whose assignment results I never got back. Please assist me as I know that the results I received today are far from reflecting what is trylly my results

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] hr diploma non delivery of first year results and refusal to refund 100% of 3 year fee paid upfront in 2017

Student No 432825. I enrolled at Damelin Correspondence College in Jan 2017 for a 3 year Diploma in HR. I paid R15, 500 upfront for the 3 years. I struggled to get the text books from suppliers for 3 months and Damelin was unresponsive. Just kept telling me to contact the suppliers though they were all out of stock. Eventually my mum went to Damelin in Randburg and Damelin then sent me the text books I needed but it was in April and too late to write my 1st year exams in June as I had to submit assignments, write tests, and internal exams before the finals in June. I wrote my exams in Nov 2017. I have been requesting my results since Feb 2018 with no success. I have no test, assignment, internal exam or final exam marks. Damelin claims to have lost all my results. In March I requested a refund. They then wanted to penalise me by returning my fees less 41% for the refund. I refused to accept that. My mum then contacted Randburg again and the matter was escalated to Shane Shaw. He promised to investigate. No feedback has been forthcoming despite numerous emails from. my mum to Shane. Yesterday she requested a full refund. He responded that the National Head of Correspondence would be in touch. Damelin has wasted 18 months of my time. I would like to enrol with another college and start studying. I just want a full refund and I believe that Damelin should add 41% to the fee I paid for loss of pay when I had to take time off work and fuel costs to go to different colleges in Jhb to write the tests, the internal exams and the external exams. PLEASE HELP ME.

Hi there

Student number 430686. I registered in August 2016 and was supposed to write in November 2017 but I did not. I received no communication regarding that.

I have submitted assignments and have not received the results because I can't log into the student portal. I have called and sent emails regarding that.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] unethical behaviour to get money and refusal to refund

Full description:
I wished to enrol for human resources online course to value of R8500. my company would pay R6500 and after having discussion telephonically with a Nicholas, we agreed I will pay the R2000 to allow me to enrol. Since end Feb I have struggled to get the necessary support so I can pay the R6500 via the enrolment tab. We arranged that a 'voucher" for the R2000 will be given to allow the system to accept the R6500. to date it has not been resolved! Several e-mails, false promises, threats about alleged terms of conditions discussed and communicated. All I wish to do is better myself and educate myself but this is really de-motivating.

Desired outcome:
Since Damelin is only interested in taking my money but not supproting me with my education, I want the amount of R2000 refunded immediately. If not possible, issue me with a voucher code so I can enrol and start my future.

My name is Natasha Rowan, I enrolled to study SCM with Damelin last year October. I was very impressed with the speedy service I received at the time. When it was time to hand in my assignments, I did, but since I posted the hard copy and mailed via the post office and e-mailed the same day, I have not received any response. I have been calling and e-mailing, as I cannot proceed with the next step until I am deemed competent. I am very disappointed with the service I am receiving, and the account has been paid in full already. I would like a refund so that i can go and study elsewhere.
I enquired about a refund and was told that I cannot get a refund and i would have to pay a cancellation fee as well. So this is clearly a money making, no service institution. many of my colleagues have received bursaries to study and have enquired about Damelin, but i cannot recommend anyone to this institution. the service stinks...

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] poor standard lectures, inexperienced lecturers and poor planning

I am totally disgusted at Damelin (Braamfontein).
Firstly, the lectureres did not show up when lectures were supposed to start, at the beginning of the year. Lectures started 2 weeks late, and then to, some of the lectureres did not ashow up.

Furthermore, the lack of experienced lectureres - this is totally unacceptable. Our children's future is on the line. Some of the lectureres stand in front and literally read off the text books.

Now I find out that the Computer test scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed due to there not being enough computers. I am totally appalled.
We are paying a fortune, only to find that Damelin who so confidently markets their name with such pride, is actually deceiving the public

If I don't see any improvement, I am taking this matter to the media and possibly Carte Blanche.

My name is Lindsay Renze student number 432592 I registered last year 2017 with Damelin regarding n4-n6 in electrical studies they have not sent my results for my control tests for last year, even though I have requested numerous times for it, secondly they sent a late mail message regarding cut-off dates on external exam registration and I could not write external exams in which they sent a second control tests form which was there fault which I paid for and requesting a refund. But in a whole their advisors are poor with regards to feedback and their main scheme is too get you registered and not care after you registered this is pathetic and education has turned into a business.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] lack of service delivery

My son Jeremy Owen Holmes student no. 426424 registered to study Draughting through Damelin Correspondence College in 2016. From day 1 it has been a battle. The whole experience has been a total nightmare. From not supplying his drawing equipment to, Damelin losing his assignments. He has still has received any of his results from his 1st year exams or assignments. Now they tell him that he didn't submit his Business assignment which is a lie because I submitted it myself via email. On top of that they tell him he failed his N4 maths which I cannot believe from getting over 80 for his assignments and only 15 % for his exam. I want an external moderator not connected to Damelin to mark that exam paper, and I want a copy of that test paper. I want his results from every single assignment he has submitted for all his subjects and all his exam marks. When you lodge a complaint nothing gets done. One just has to look at the Hello Peter website and the Damelin Correspondence College Facebook Page to see the complaints.in my opinion they should be stripped of their accreditation as an educational facility. Every month the money went off my husbands bank account without a hitch. Jeremy is supposed to be finished his course and needs to find a job but can do nothing without his certificate. Please help.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] poor service and administration

Morning hope this mail finds you well.

I am a student at Damelin Pretoria campus (central), student no [protected].
I have started a short fundamentals of project management with the campus.
I have had the following challenges with the campus:
1. From last year, it's been several times (2 weeks), going to class and finding the classes locked and had to wait for almost an hour for the keys.
2. This year from the 1st day of class 06 Jan the same thing happened for about 3 sequential weeks, we had to be sent back home.
4. During these weeks we were supposed to take a test and it was also postponed as well as a result of not having a class to write the test.
5. The following 2 weeks, we came for the test but no question paper were printed not printed, the lecturer had to make means to print at the Internet Cafe.
6. We most of the time didn't have a register handy, the lecturer would make his own just to prove we did attend.
7. On Saturday the lecturer told us that our scripts are lost and together with the registers, his office was cleared without his concerns and as a result everything is lost.

With the above, I made means to call the campus to find out the following:
1. Our course was supposed to be finished by the 2nd or March 2018 but we are still far off.
2. With our tests scripts and registers lost and the lost time as well...
3. What is the way forward and how is everything going to be sorted out because we can't keep going to campus every Saturday seeing that we are not going anywhere and there is no correspondence from the campus at all.

The following was the outcome:
1. I explained the information above to the receptionist, hoping to be directed to a person that can give me an explanation, she with an attitude answered and said the campus will call you, I made an emphasis to her that, we can't wait for the campus to phone us because the campus hasn't said anything at all and these are recurring events and as students we are concerned, she stalled wo give me answers and I asked what her name was, she then started to pretend like she wasn't hearing me anymore then put the phone down on my ear.
I phoned again someone else picked up, I asked her name she said Vero, and added that she is not the receptionist, I then asked her for the name of the receptionist then she went quet and asked if I am Aubrey then I said yes and when she learned that I am the same person she hang up on me.
2. I asked permission to work and drove to the campus, got to the receptionist and asked if their supervisor is in and they responded yes, I then asked to speak with the supervisor.
She asked what is it about then I told them that I am Aubrey and I would like to speak with the supervisor about the issue that happened on the phone.
3. She said she will call him, but quickly came back and said he's in a meeting and I said I will wait.
4. I then realised that they were hoping that I will leave but didn't, then she came back to me and said the meeting it's going to take long, so they offered to help and I politely said I explained myself to you on the phone and you hang up on me so you failed to help, if you couldn't listen to me on the phone and I don't think I should be talking to you because you refused to talk to me, then she wanted to deny that she was not the one that was on the phone. I asked her that I do not want to argue with her, she said to me you want to see the supervisor and you don't even have an appointment and I responded said, kindly make one for me, she stalled until I asked her if she is refusing to make the appointment for me.
5. She said she will get a diary, she then asked me to put my name down on the list, when I went through the list I learned that it was appointments for drivers licenses (attached). I asked if she is mocking me and she responded with an attitude that I can write my name wherever I feel like writing it.
6. I put my details and told her that if my appointment is not confirmed by afternoon I will take the matter further.

I haven't received any feedback from the campus since yesterday the whole day.

I have never got such poor service in my life. I am at the stage where I feel like it's hopeless for me to go back there, if the receptionist are denying to give me a person that can help me then that means there is no help I can get because I cannot around the entire campus looking for help while I have people that can direct me.

The lecturer Mr. Liberty Dhlakhama was transparent with us, he showed us all the mails and sms's he sent of complaints and arrangements for the tests but he didn't get any response.
Receptionist is Mbali the assistant said she's Vero I don't know if she told me the truth.

I have known to be the best college and I am not hoping to reconsider.

I hope you find the above in correct order and that the matter will be addressed accordingly

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] no feedback on deregistration: 436 537

Good day.

I would like to submit a complaint.

In October 2017, my employer agreed to finance further studies through Damelin correspondence.

Full payment was done on 3 Nov 2017 for the National N Marketing Diploma.
Study material was received.

I noticed that 2017 exam dates were included. As I registered for 2018, I submitted e-mails and phonecalls to the call centre.in Feb, they issued me with 2018 exam dates.
Then the nightmare began, as I had to start looking for an FET College to register for exams.
What an absolute waste of precious time. After several phone calls, I was sent a list of available FET Colleges. EVERY college I contacted was unable to assist me. They either had NO idea why I contacted them, or told me that they already have theor hands full with current students, or they just did not assist DAMELIN students, or they were completely unaware that they appeared on a list of available exam venues.

To my shock, when phoning the call centre for theth time, I was told that MANY students had the same problem. I was eventually given a number for Braamfontein campus. At least this lady was helpful, but yet, when I enquired on registration, I was told that she was not sure, as she has not received any exam forms from Damelin.

Phoning the correspondence call centre again, I was told to get in my car and look for a college and ask them if they are willing to assist.

This was shocking for me, as I even asked if they could not make an arrangement with their Randburg campus. I was told that I can go and ask them.

This proved totally unprofessional.
To avoid further dissappointment and frustration, I discussed with our HR department that I already wasted precious time on looking for an exam venue - something Damelin correspondence should be able to provide, and that I have studied through both Unisa and UCT on correspondence level and have never experienced poor support and service as this. We suggested that deregistration is the best option, and I requested the form.

After submitting various e-mails to request a refund, no response has been received.

Further to the above, after enquiring numerous times on assignments that were already submitted, no feedback was given.
I have complained about the prescirbed textbooks and study giude not having correspondence info - still no feedback to date.
The student e-mail address is completely useless, as no info is ever sent to me regarding assignments, exam dates etc.

Please issue refund instructions soonest. I have no problem in returning the usb with the study guides. Please advise if this is requested.

Hi i have been struggling to get any feedback on my deregistration, at this point I don't care about refunds I just want to cancel my registration.Everytime call my enquiry gets escalated but still nothing..444250

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] refund and cancellations dispute

Student Number 429115 and 429117

Myself and my husband enrolled with Damelin and paid the registration amount as well as the monthly debit order. Both of us almost paid R26 000 study fee's.

In July last year my husband was diagnosed with Brain cancer and had to undergo brain surgery to remove the tumour. We are still undergoing chemo theraphy as well as speach therapy and we requested Damelin to cancel the courses and refund as we would not at this stage be able to complete the course in turnaround time and financially we wont be able to contribute to the course any longer. We submitted documents to Damelin in the beginning of November 2017 and we had to constantly follow up and no assistance. Now we received correspondance to state that the course has been cancelled and the refund amount will be R1600? We are trying to dispute this as we have only finished 1 subject and no one is assisting. Please can someone assist as we understand that there will be penalty fee's in cancelling but getting a refund of R1600 will be unacceptable.

I do belive that they need to review each request on merrit of cancellation.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] no results for 2 years

My daughter, Erika Dippenaar, student number 427324 enrolled with Damelin in 2016. From the start we have issues with the registration process, receiving of study material etc. I have numerous e-mail correspondence showing our never ending struggle. When we wanted to cancel the registration and wanted our money back so she can enrol with a legit higher educator, we were threatened by a court case!
Even when she went to write exam, her name was not on the list and that started a whole new struggle. Almost every step of the way was a disaster, and there was no improvement to this day.

It is now 2018. She never received exam or assignment result for 2016 or 2017. Even the student portal does not show any results, but it does show that Damelin gladly received our R26k!
The lack of results handicapped her to continue and enrol for 2018. Her future is now on a halt

We have made countless unsuccessful phone calls to try and sort this out. We have record of each and every phone call.

It is now my turn to inform Damelin that if this does not end TODAY, and my daughter is not assisted with results and a dedicated plan for the future regarding her continued studies at Damelin, Damelin will have a court case at hand.
I have the time, means, and method to take this to action, because Damelin broke their part of the contract with my daughter and they can no longer get away with it. It is time that you get into action and sort this mess out!
I have copied each and every person at Damelin that was involved in all the correspondence since we registered with Damelin. I have attached some of the e-mails for your perusal.

Please respond before end of business today 19 January 2018, with a satisfied answer and the results for the past 2 years, in order to prevent this matter to be handed over to my attorneys for legal resolution.
We are no longer accommodating phone calls with promises that someone will sort it out, or will come back to us. We need a concrete answer with actions already taken by Damelin.

my name is andre van rensburg student nr436816 I registered 12.2017. for a 2 year coarse part of the course that I pay for is to be able to get support from damelin online student porthole with the first password they gave me the I could not login according to the system I dont exist and then they gave me another password same thing and after calling and mailing them non stop no help or service now I want a full refund and find a new college.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] poor customer service skills

I wrote travel and tourism in 1996. Didn't get results and no feedback and when I enquired a year ago on results feedback I got passed from pillar to post... nobody could help.. apparently the cape town college of damelin has no history of anyone doing tourism prior to 7 years ago. I think new ownership or closure I don't no the story but either way this sucks and is completely unfair and unacceptable. And unprofessional too. Only way I found this out was because I wanted rpl recognition of prior learnibgbfor credits. This cannot be left here... it's unnacceptanle.

I decided to give another try.. but omg seriously now.

I'm doing paralegal course and submitted assigments months ago and only heard recently that it's only been sent for marking a week ago! Exams written in November and they told me it will take 3 month is marking...3 months serious issues I tell you. It's not like there so many people writing paralegal at damelin. Thirdly your invidulators are rude and behaviour tollaly unacceptable shouting at students n rudeness beyond required. Need to learn people skills. They take rudeness to a whole new level. Its rather ugly.

I call dcc phones justvring n sometimes go through but then gets cut after holding 20 mins then I'm upset n they say nothing wrong with phones... but then next call say thy r having phone problems. You can't have phone problems plus when you send an email then nobody responds... so decide what way u want to deal n get in with it. I want to no how you goingbto deal with my first issue and then the rest of it too.

Quick to call for outstanding amounts but ask someone to call to assist with questions... then I get hold can't make outbound call... like WTF are you doing there in the first place.

I also enquired about doing lectuting for tourism and got halfish answers... a proper reply leaves a person confident but if consultantbiantvsure themselves leaves you feeling the same.

At this point in ferling like if things are not corrected I won't study at your Institute again. I shouldn't have given damelin another try.. perhaps should done this direct with uct short courses at a fraction of the cost!

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] not receiving diploma or any feedback

I am struggling for months now to get my diploma after my last assignment was submitted in March already. I have also had to struggle constantly to get any results or feedback and nobody does any effort to contact back.
Ironically I keep getting new messages regarding new courses offered as they are only interested to get your money and then that is the last that you hear of them. I am going to take legal action now.

Damelin you are a joke!
