Dewey Ford in Ankeny, Iowa sold a truck right under us when we were sent to get our car for trade-in
Dewey Ford in Ankeny, Iowa sold a truck right under us when we were sent to get our car for trade-in. We had our paperwork done at 3:00, and then they sell it to someone that just walked in. They did not treat me better. False advertisement, and this caused a waste of my gas since I live 30 miles away. It has caused my anxiety and blood pressure to rise. I was mistreated. And Stephanie, the sales manager, was also very rude and treated me like I was a nobody when I complained to her. This company should have communicated that we were already in the process and not let anyone else test drive it.

Me and my wife was lookin' for a new Ford Escape and we was tryin' to work with Ames Ford but they didn't have internet and couldn't close on a vehicle. We left Ames with bad, gut feelings and decided to stop by Dewey Ford in Ankeny . . . we was extremely happy that we did! They treated us with respect, they answered all of our questions 'bout the Escape and financial inquiries, and they gave us a reverent offer for our trade-in. They even hurried the process along 'cause we had to leave by a certain time to take our daughter to a sport event; this meant a lot to us. If you work with them, ask for Sean to do your financing. He was a true pleasure to work with!
I bought a Jeep from a guy who doesn't work at Dewey Ford anymore, it's been 3 months since I got it
I bought a Jeep from a guy who doesn't work at Dewey Ford anymore, it's been 3 months since I got it. My problem is how the purchase was handled. We wanted a car with low mileage, and when we mentioned our budget, he sold us a Jeep with 14,000 miles. No problem with the car itself, but he said we were on a Covid delayed payment plan and got us a 10% interest rate with Alley. We were deceived without any thought. Our credit rating was good, so we asked if we could refinance with our own bank later. He said "yes," but it turns out we can't. I called to find out the payoff amount and they said we would have to pay the full amount plus interest for 4 years. I've called Alley multiple times and talked to the Ford dealership too. It's been a year now and they still insist that we were on the Covid delayed payment plan, even though I've been making payments since day one. This business is misleading and corrupt. I reported them to the ComplaintsBoard.com, but it hasn't been resolved yet. Please learn from my experience.
If I had thought about it, I would have filed a formal complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com and asked for their help to resolve my issues
If I had thought about it, I would have filed a formal complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com and asked for their help to resolve my issues. However, for now, my car is done and there is nothing left to resolve. I do want people to know our experience with Dewey Ford's Body and *** My husband slid on ice and took out a road sign causing front bumper and radiator damage. Our insurance agent gave us their company's preferred providers, one of which was Dewey Ford. We chose to use them. It took THREE WEEKS to get an estimate on repairs from them. During this time we called repeatedly to find out what was taking so long. We were either told we would get a call back or my husband left a message on a particular person's cell phone (the estimator). He called back ONLY ONCE. My husband also received a "form" text message from Dewey Ford five days after our car was towed to Dewey. It read in part, "Should you need anything throughout your visit, please reply to this text." Six days later, my husband replied. His text read in part, "I haven't gotten any update about my vehicle so far. Can you please tell me the status?" He has never received a reply, call or other contact regarding that text message. We got our insurance company involved as well as our agent. Our agent left messages for the estimator three times and has never been called back. Our car was to be completed BY Feb. 3rd. We are getting our car back today, Monday, Feb. 14th. No one called to tell us the work would be delayed. We called Dewey and were told (by someone other than the estimator) it would be done "mid-week" last week. Still no call. My husband got a call from the estimator last Friday afternoon as we were heading out of town. I guess we were expected to pick it up that day.I have requested a meeting with the General Mgr, the body shop mgr, and the estimator to discuss this HORRIBLE customer service. We'll see if that happens. Worst customer service I've received in 61 years EVER from anyone.

I bought a Jeep from Dewey Ford on October 2
I bought a Jeep from Dewey Ford on October 2. I live in *** and I've tried to register my vehicle many times. It's November 3, 2022, and Dewey Ford still hasn't sent the title of my vehicle to the Colorado DMV. I still can't register my vehicle after 13 months. This ain't right, man.
January 31, 2022 Purchase Agreement No
January 31, 2022 Purchase Agreement No. *** Cash Delivered Price: $44837.49 Me and my hubby, we bought a car from Dewey Ford in October . We stayed in touch with Dewey Ford for 4 months while waiting for the car to be built. The sales guy and the bosses knew I was gonna have knee surgery in January and they said they'd help us out if the car arrived during my surgery time, but they didn't. The bosses hinted that they might sell the car to someone else if we didn't make the 120-mile trip to pick it up on the day I got home from the hospital. Our experience was the worst ever. (Please see attached docx for all the deets.)
My old car got wrecked in a crash
My old car got wrecked in a crash. After battling with the insurance company, I went to Dewey Auto Outlet to buy a new car at the end of January. The van I wanted needed some detailed and mechanical work. I was gonna leave, but they said I could have a loaner car if I bought the van and they'd fix the problems. But when they gave it back, there were still 4 issues that weren't fixed. They've had my van 3 times now and every time they give it back, none of the issues are fixed. Now they're giving me the runaround, ignoring my calls. I leave voicemails but they don't call back. They told me 2 weeks ago that they had all the parts and were waiting for a dealer plate that was supposed to come in the next day. But every time I call, they send me to voicemail. I tried reaching out on their *** page, they read my message but didn't reply.

Got an oil change yesterday on 9/10 - service was pretty bad again
Got an oil change yesterday on 9/10 - service was pretty bad again. They asked if I wanted my tires rotated, which is supposed to be done every time. I told them I didn't have any more free oil changes, even though the service manager, John ***, told me last time that I had 2 more. There was no record of that. They also charged me for full synthetic oil on my first visit, even though I specifically asked for it each time. Yesterday, on 9/10, they told me I never got full synthetic oil for the other 2 oil changes, even though I was charged for the upgrade with the first oil change. They tried to charge me again last night, but I refused to pay. I get lied to every time I go there. Also, when they closed my hood, they left an oil smudge on it! How is that good service? I've bought 3 cars from this dealership in the last 6 or 7 years, but never again! I want a refund for the upgrade charge I paid because I was told I needed to pay for full synthetic oil, but only got partial synthetic.
On May 31, I took my Mustang to Dewey Ford for a scheduled appointment
On May 31, I took my Mustang to Dewey Ford for a scheduled appointment. The car was acting up and stuck in limp mode. Since my car is modified, I specifically asked for a technician who knows about these types of cars. They told me it would cost around 160 bucks to diagnose the issue. They had my car for three whole days and apparently spent five hours testing electrical connections and replacing a pigtail connector. Then they called me and suggested getting a new throttle body for about 800 bucks, even though they hadn't actually found the problem yet. I declined their offer and ended up paying a hefty sum to get my car back.
When I got home, I discovered the problem myself and fixed it for free in just 15 minutes. If their technician had simply observed the car in action once, they would have seen the problem too. I decided to meet with their service manager to discuss the situation. Although he tried to justify the high price, he agreed that the technician should have checked the throttle body operation. He also asked if I had authorized the hours spent and the pigtail replacement, to which I replied no. He requested some time to investigate and called me back two days later. He still tried to justify the price, but offered me a free oil change as a gesture of goodwill. I declined the offer, and he mentioned that he wanted to do something for me but needed to consult with his manager first. I'm still waiting for that call.
It's really disappointing that a certified dealership like Dewey Ford would throw parts at a problem without even knowing what the problem was, and then charge me almost four times the quoted price without fixing the car. They even told me I needed to take my car to a specialty shop for repairs, but the service manager later admitted that I shouldn't have been told that. The communication throughout this whole process was seriously lacking. The truth is, all the time they spent testing circuits and replacing the pigtail could have been avoided if they had just taken a simple look at the throttle body operation. They should have informed me if there were additional hourly charges on top of the quoted price. It seems like they're fixated on the time they spent, even though they admit that all that time could have been saved if they had actually inspected the car properly.
On Black Friday, I purchased a 2022 Explorer with 4WD from Dewey Ford
On Black Friday, I purchased a 2022 Explorer with 4WD from Dewey Ford. Just three days later, on Monday, the vehicle malfunctioned, leaving me stranded in a cold, windy, and unsafe area post-work. I had to tow it back to the dealership. It displayed multiple error codes, including powertrain and engine coolant issues, without actual overheating. Attempts to restart and checks under the hood revealed nothing. The next day, I considered Uber for work, but having just spent over 55k on the car, I expected perfection, not additional costs. Enterprise had no cars at Ankeny, but eventually, the dealership provided a loaner. At work, I noticed the loaner Escape had a low tire. Later, my niece almost swallowed a razor blade found in the back seat, narrowly avoided by my son. The dealership's response to this was apathetic. Nine days in, they're still diagnosing my car, adding over 200 miles in the process. Contacting Dewey's higher-ups led to an email about my 'Bronco' issues, despite purchasing an Explorer. They're taking time to repair, but I feel entitled to a full refund for the unreliable car and loan. A service member admitted discomfort in returning the car due to the undiagnosed issue, yet no refund information was provided.
