Discover My Mobility Air Hawk

I ordered an Air Hawk and paid in full for it with a credit card on 08/29/2023.

The item was shipped to me and arrived September 6th. After opening the package I tried to open up the wheelchair but it would not budge. I carefully removed the bubble wrap and I found that the one front wheel was bent into the area that holds one of the batteries. It was jammed and that is why it would not open. I called the company and spoke to Victoria Puchini. She was very helpful. She asked me to send pictures which I did, she then told me that they would send out a replacement. I was concerned because I was leaving to go on vacation to Europe. Now UPS is telling me I may not get the replacement in time. I spoke with owner Michael and I have never been treated with such rudeness and hangs up on me. My mobility is very bad and I wanted to have the Air Hawk to bring with me so that I could enjoy my vacation in London. If it does not arrive in time it will ruin my time there as I will not be able to get around. It is not their fault that it came damaged as UPS is known for careless treatment of packages. If the company had offered me Next day air despite the cost I would have gladly paid the $700 to be assured that I would have my Air Hawk on time. I was so frustrated that I told Michael that If I did not get it in time that I might be inclined to ask for a refund. Upon that he stated "That will never happen" and he hung the phone up on me. For a company that states "Quality and Service" it is laughable. Obviously "Quality and Service" is just not there. It must be all about the $$$ the customer is spending!

Recommendation: Buyer beware check out all the negative reviews!

I should have read reviews FIRST ! I believe this company is a set up scam. BE AWARE! Speedily took my money and hung up on me when I tried to find my $2000 wheelchair. Never buy here.

Discover My Mobility P50 Lift

Purchased a P50 lift from this company and it arrived damaged. Instead of replacing they sent me the parts that were damaged to fix the new lift go figure. The parts arrived damaged go figure. Now the lift is repaired installed. The home owner calls my office every few weeks with complaints. The guy got stuck on the lift and had to have fire dept remove him. I called this company several times. I have sent emails several times letting them know the situation. They refuse to respond and do not pick up the phone when I call.

We have pretty much discovered that the lift was tweaked in shipping. Once a lift that is a corkscrew lift of sorts gets bent a little it is ruined. This lift carries a one year warranty from who. It is not from this company because they wont warranty this. DO NOT BUY ONE!

This is for disabled people. This is a company selling something to help these people. Instead they are merely taking advantage of the disabled.

Desired outcome: That the lift be completely replaced and the homeowner be compensated for his discomfort sitting on a lift waiting for fire dept to remove him in the middle of the winter.

Discover My Mobility 800 Number Manager

I called to check on an online order made 3 days previously. The person who answered, who I later found was the manager of the 800 operation, took a very long time to find my order of a manual wheelchair ( I was an established customer and had bought a electric wheelchair from them before.) I asked if there was a problem and she went into a tirade about the computer. I made a pithy comment which I shouldn't have about always blaming the computer. She started to verbally attack me. I told her, trying to explain why I was on edge, that I had received a diagnosis of Stage 4 (end stage) cancer the previous Friday at which time she cut me off screaming "Just because you're dying doesn't give you the right to be an a$$hole." That is a direct quote. I called back and cancelled the order but that person, with manager yelling in the background refused to send a confirmatory email, provide a cancellation number, or even give me her first name.

Desired outcome: Warn others about their attitude.

Discover My Mobility Optimus scooter

I purchased an Optimus scooter in September 2021. After using it twice, it stopped working. I returned it with proper RMA, via UPS and was told that the batteries were fried.

Discover your mobility was to send a new one. After more than a week, I called to find out when I could expect the new scooter and was told that they were out of the black model and it would be a few weeks until it came in. I asked if they had other colors in stock and was told they had the blue model. Why didn't they call me and ask if a substitute was ok?

I experienced issues with opening it and had to send it back a few weeks later.

In early summer 2022, the steering rods fell off and my husband had to do the repair himself with the parts parts sent by the company.

Now, the steering column has sheared off (see photo). I am told I will be charged for the return shipping.

They are using the original purchase date of the black model as the purchase/shipping date, not the date the blue one was sent to me.

Desired outcome: Replace the product.

Discover My Mobility EW- 72 scooter not working right and can't even get a call from a technician

Purchased this EW-72 the middle of Aug. It was delivered on 8/31/22, for my husband who is disabled he has driven it very little but right off the bat notice there is a lag time when trying to move forward or backward sometimes having to wait a minute or so before trying again to get it to move. I have called the company and they told me to call EWheels for answers, they wanted a video of the issue which I can't figure out how to send. In the meantime, they say I have to get a name of a repair place for it from Discover my mobility, so they are sending it back to them! Getting a run around as to who can even fix it and I have paid for it. It is supposed to have a 3-year warrantee and it has not even been a month!

Also, I asked for a copy of our invoice which I still have not received. On their web site it shows that they have repair people here in WA and close to my home this one reason I bought it from them.

Desired outcome: I would for them to give me a phone number and name of a repair technician to fix this also, send me my invoice, without a run around.

Discover My Mobility Unethical Practice

October 2021 contacted Discovermymobility.com to ask about the compatability of the leade acid battery charger with the new $600 upgraded lithium batteries I was purchasing. The rep told me that I did NOT need to get a lithium battery charger with my upgraded lithium batteries becuase the TZORA brand scooter I got has a technology that would charge wither batteries. As is turns out that is NOT true. I call the manufacturer as well as went to a Batteries a+ Bulbs store and they told me the Lead acid charger is not strong enough to charge the lithium Ion batteries to full charge. I would be buying new batteries is a short period of time.
The complaint is the apparent unethical practice of "convincing the customer to short out expensive batteries so they can come back and buy more". On multiple occasions the rep lied flat out to me and now, I am looking for another company to do business with in the future

Discover My Mobility Ridiculous Refund Issue, Did not send the order and no refund

I ordered scooter trailer 1.5 month ago. They told it would be shipped in 4-6 weeks or I can cancel the order. I waited 6 weeks, no shipment was made, I called in and they told they do not have it in stock. However, they still sell it on their website for much higher price. I requested order cancellation and refund. Mary Lumpkin stated that refund is on the way, it is processing. It was paid by PayPal and literally refund on PayPal takes about 30 seconds if not less. No refund, no order. I will have to start claims and negative feedbacks against this crooks. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM BEFORE READING REVIEWS !

I ordered a $1495.00 3-whelled scooter a few years ago. When, it did not come in 2 weeks, I called them. I was told that they were getting ready to call me, the one I ordered was out of stock but asked if it was OK to send me a different model, to which I agreed. They sent me the upgradded model of the same scooter, which they were selling for $1,995.00, at not extra cost to me. So, I paid $1495.00 for a $1995.00 scooter. Sign me "A Happy Camper."

Discover My Mobility Will not issue a refund for a cancelled order

Ordered a mobility scooter on 5/28/21 for $1, 795, invoice #615946.
Shipment has been delayed for the past 5 months. I was given the option to cancel the order and I did on 10/24/21 with an email to Mary Lumpkin. After many emails and phone calls I still cannot get a refund. I was told that the credit card company would not accept the refund because it has been too long since the purchase.
I've been told "the check is in the mail" for the amount of $1608.00 but no check has arrived. I guess legal proceedings are needed or a charge-back through the credit card company.
So sad that this company is preying on the elderly and disabled. I hope you can help get this matter resolved.

Discover My Mobility ew 19 electric scooter

I have a disability an needed a scooter bad a foundation meet my needs to pay for a scooter. This scooter came to me on my birthday. I didn't want nothing or no one to touch my new scooter. I used it to go to a doctors appointment and was on my way down the street while students walked behind me. The right side wheel flies off the scooter and screws are on the ground I informed them. I asked them numerous times to come get this scooter before December 13, 2019. Since today is the 30 day mark she says there's nothing they can do for a defective product. Plus the address they gave me was incorrect along with the suite number. I'm stuck with a damaged scooter and very disappointed I would never buy anything from this company if this is not resolved. I wanted a fair exchanged today I was told by Victoria there's nothing they can do. Discover your mobility will not be exchanging my scooter. The wheel and lugs constantly came apart which makes it very difficult to stay on it. Please contact me back at your earliest convenience about this matter. Discover My Mobility return policy, misrepresentation, past criminal convictions.

The site advertising 30-day returns. But beware -- that is after a 20% restocking fee and S &H. So, you buy a $1k mobility device -- and pay $300 for the return.

We placed an order. Called to cancel before it was delivered. Michael said it was already shipped. We said we'd not accept delivery from UPS and have it returned without every handling, opening box, etc. We did offer to pay return shipping fees.

He defensively, angrily lied about an FDA return policy. The FDA does prohibit used devices being sold as new. But, it's BS that an unopened, unassembled, never-touched device is considered used.

His lies and policies are a great way to take in 30% of a device's cost while getting to resell it at full price.

Note: this retailer is owned by Michael Woods, who was charged with defrauding disabled people in 2012. Once a crook, always a crook. Please buy elsewhere. Most competitors offer returns within 30 days with just shipping costs incurred.

More charges could be coming against a 43-year-old Macomb Township man accused of defrauding disabled customers who purchased equipment from him and his company to make their lives easier.

Pete Ackerly, agent for state Attorney General Bill Schuette, acknowledged in court Wednesday that Michael Woods and his defunct company, Planet Mobility, could face more charges on top of one count each of fraud between $1, 000 and $20, 000, punishable by up to five years in prison.

Ackerly told Magistrate Michael Osaer of 41A District Court in Shelby Township that Woods and his attorney, Frank Palazzolo, have been told about more allegations.

Woods, who is disabled, and Planet Mobility, which was based in Shelby Township, in late 2008 and 2009 accepted orders over the Internet but failed to deliver, according to Schuette. When customers complained, Woods allegedly promised to send a refund, but Woods' accusers say the refunds never came. One customer was defrauded of $6, 401 for a lift table, and another was defrauded of $5, 830 for a wheelchair lift, authorities said.

I purchased a Electra 7 HD. I was very impressed at first. I had to order the legs, because I have lots of problems with my lower legs. When I received the chair it was fine. The legs were the problem for me. One of the legs were used and it didn't function at all. I called to get a replacement leg. Once the new leg arrived, I was still unable to use the wheel chair. The wheel chair seems to be custom made the add on were horrible. I called to complain about the legs keep falling off and very cheap. The price that I paid I expected everything to be custom. I had to put my legs on top where the legs swing out in order to keep the legs together. I couldn't cope with that pain. I paid over $3700.00 for the wheel chair. I called the company to complain, they said someone would call me back. I sent the wheel chair back because I didn't want to get stuck with a wheel chair that I couldn't use. I sent it back before the 30 days and I found out this morning that they still charged me the full price for the wheel chair. I received the chair the day before Thanksgiving. December 5th I informed them of the problem that I was having. I tried to wait for the to respond to me. I shipped it back to them on December 14th 2023. They say that I owe them over $1000.00 for restocking and shipping. The money don't add up. The woman on the phone told me that it was a $707 restocking fee plus $130.00 shipping fee that doesn't add up to $1000.00. I paid $167.00 to return everything back to them. I just want to get some of my money back at least.

Company seems to ghost you after delivering damaged and defective items. I have reached out twice about a Craftsmen XL 2 in 1 carrier. It arrived with a large dent, bent hinge, bent hinge pin. There were no holes to install the ramp arm hinge. Due to needing it immediately, I had it installed. Picked up the scooter (335 lbs). Drove a total of 1 hour, with a 2 hour stop. Ramp deck was about 6 inches from the ground when I got home. This is supposed to carry 400 lbs. When unloading scooter, a sharp edge damaged the tire.

Purchased a scooter from this company. Came in with two back wheels bent in against frame. did not answer my e-mails to them. scooter stayed in my garage for 4 months with only a few trips to mailbox a trip of only 25 yards when I noticed front wheels were pointing in towards each other. Called company and they said I had the scooter for 4 months and there was nothing they could do. I told her there was a years warrenty on product. I raised up scooter and saw steering nuts were not even tightened at factory. Aligned wheels and tightened nuts on steering rods and scooter is good to go. purchased some LOCTite in case they come loose again. Am working on rear support wheels to straighten them. Would rather fix it myself than hassle with these people. Personal opinion is this is not the people you want to buy from.
