Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing force placed insurance

Normally our insurance does not lapse, our policy expired on 3/31/13, but our insurance agent decided he wasn't doing business with that particular company anymore, so it left us hanging looking for a homeowners policy.I found a new agent and had coverage by 4/12/13 with a copy of the declarations page being sent to Green Tree by the agent.

Green Tree should have also paid this out of our escrow account. Shouldn't have really been an issue, however, Green Tree kept sending us notices that we didn't have coverage and if we didn't get coverage within 30 days they would add their own policy. On 4/18/13, I mailed a copy of the declarations page to three different Green Tree offices, (one was sent certified). I received another notice dated 5/9/13 from Green Tree saying that they still didn't have proof of insurance.
So, once again I mailed it the address listed and I faxed it to the number listed, this was on 5/14/13. On 5/20/13, I called Green Tree to see if they had received it?. I was told yes, that everything was fine, . On 5/31/13, I received a packet from Green Tree Insurance that showing that on 5/25/13 they had added an insurance policy in the amount of $2, 223 to our account since we hadn't produced verification that we had insurance!.
I faxed them 10 copies on 5/31/13 and another 10 copies on 6/3/13'. We'll see if they take their policy off. I
On 5/17/13, I paid late fees they claimed we owed, but as of 6/3/13 they still haven't applied them to our late fees. On 4/18/13, I sent a letter to 3 of their offices asking for a detailed breakdown of our account since they took the loan over in January 2012, I am showing we have $145 in payments that are unaccounted for. As of this date I still have not received a reply back from them. They raised our payment $126 with no notice or explanation, (this was before they force placed the insurance). The payment has just been raised the month before due to escrow shortage, so it shouldn't have changed again for at least a year. Something needs to be done about this company.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing payoff

These people at GreenTree are so RUDE, and call anytime of the day or night it is unreal! I am so angry with there harrasments at work, home and cell phone too. I called GT to get the amount on the payoff on my mortgage, and asked if we could negotiate the the least amount they would take. I was told be because he had been trying to get a hold of be for a while and did not get anywhere, he would not talk negotiations and that we had a contract anyway. I would like to know if this is true. While in a contract they can not negotiate down? My name is Beatriz Smith e-mail is [protected]@rocketmail.com Please give me an answer if you can. Thank you so very much.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Customer Service

It's the most awful customer service I've ever experienced. Continue calling to try and speak with a customer service rep. it hangs up on you and I've tried on several days to just try and speak to someone. Went to gtservicing web-site to write my request the web site is down. Spoke once with someone in customer service and they were rude and unprofessional. It's impossible to speak with someone in mortgage servicing.
I'm serious I've never experienced such bad service in all my life.

I too had bad experiences with GTS.
They would call me every day after the 1st of the month for my mortgage payment, knowing darn well by law I have up until th 15th to pay them.
Luckily I refied with my credit union 2% less than them.
Good Luck

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Continual calling

I keep getting a phone call from NIck telling me about some property on Martin Luther King St in Dallas, TX. I have no idea what he is talking about. I have called back to the number he gave me and they have no record of an account in my name. Often times he gives another name associated with mine. I have not been able to get back in touch with NICK. I feel he has the wrong Doris Smith.f684c

The next time Nick calls tell him you will be recording ALL conversations. Ask him if he minds if you record the conversation, who knows he may quit calling, just make sure you ask him first. Gotta abide by the law. Do you have his last name? If not, get it if you don't. Start asking question, if you're not sure what he or any other per is talking about or wants from you.. If Nick persists on calling start a log with the date, time and jot down notes of the conversation, this could all help in the event you need to call the police for harassment. Do you have caller id? Most phone companies offer it free with your phone service. You can ask the phone company if they have call rejection or call rejection anonymous, this is also called blocking a number. This Nick sound like a real sleaze bag. Don't let him get under your skin and get smart- try ways to outfox him. Who knows you might find out he is doing something illegal. Good luck.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing non-payment of work performed

We are a construction company that performed a job for the home owner and greentree services. We were told to fill out and estimate with the insurance adjuster, send a copy of there estimate. a signed W-9 form as well as Photos of before and after the job was finished. They would then send us a check made out to the home owners and us. Since then we can not get any answers from green tree srvices as to what happened. The job has been down for nearly 3 months using only my money. We have since recieved a 1099 stating they paid us. I promptly called and asked for a copy of the check they said I recieved and they said No. I am now forced to hire a lawyer and take them to court. So my message to all contractors is to make sure you recieve a notice explaining when payment will be recieved and if it is not there will be a penalty clause as well as interest owed.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Online Payment Fee

My mortgage loan was just sold to Green Tree Servicing by GMAC. When I went online to register so that I could make a payment, I found out there's a $12.00 Speedpay fee to make your mortgage payments online! Green Tree should be happy you can make a mortgage payment at all in this economy. Greed is the name of the game when it comes to these big corporations! I am sickened by these mortgage companies and the scams...

If you are interested I am trying to gather names for a class action lawsuit for gross fraud. Please do not make online payments. Must have a paper trail established to nail them. I am setting up a twitter act to gather names #greentreepaymentfraud, or #greentreemortgagefraud. The online says they are not responsible for mistakes and don't have to correct them. I'm trying to find the owners of this outfit, but can't nail what corp actually owns them. Any info will be appreciated. I will be putting this on FB also. Email sb24542@gmail.com. They claimed I didn't get my payment and made 17 harassing calls to my house & then sent a letter verifying they had my payment the whole time! Time to stop this BS.

I, too, was just sold to Green Tree. So far their service is TERRIBLE. My homeowners insurance was due a couple of months after they got my loan. THEY were supposed to notify my insurance company. Instead they sent me a letter. End result, my insurance was cancelled and it has been an absolute nightmare getting it reinstated! And the $12.00 fee is just a slap in the face! If they are "servicing" my loan they, nor I, should be paying a third party to handle my on-line payment!

Total crock of crap! I use to pay my mortgage plus 12.00 to round it up to the highest number before submitting my payment through GMAC. With Speedpay this option is now sucked up by a company who "claims" they don't know how to set up their own bill pay and help the customer AND THEMSELVES out.
This American greed at is finest and most corrupt.
Congrats Greent Tree Servicing you really must pat yourselves on the back during your board meetins over this blatant rip off of the American consumer.

Yes, Green Tree's policy regarding online payments is completely miserable. I asked them about it, and they say they turn around and pay the fee to a third party, and it's out of their control. Bah! There are ways around this if only they'd look for them. With GMAC, I used to make small, casual, out-of-cycle payments to shave some dollars off my principal. I can't do it now. They've also been scandalously slow with their paper billing. I've been with these guys for less than five weeks, and I can't stand them.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing unprofessional

Green Tree employees are rude and unprofessional. And are unwilling to work withe anyone. I called the 1st of the month about doing a deferment and they waited until thee 15th to contact me, and that was at 7pm. I am getting thee run around from them. They say my loan rep will call, then she never calls. Then someone else calls and says they will get her, then someone else gets on thee phone and yells at me that my payment is late and its due on thee 1st. I said I called thee 1st of thee month and no one returned my call. I was told I was suppose to call back because Jessica, my loan rep. was on vacation. No one told me that. They said they would have her call me. On top of that, when they took my loan over, which I didn't ask for, they charged me additional fees of around $200 for over a year, when I asked for an itemized statement of what they were they simply sent me a letter saying it was for lawyer and admin. fees. This company needs to be closed or trained to actually help people rather than treat them badly.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Not applying payoff check to my account

We sent check to payoff our home loan to Green Tree Financial on Nov. 30-2012 and it has yet to be applied to our loan but the check has been deposited to their bank. Numerous calls and faxes have been made and sent to their company but I never get any return calls. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and we are hoping they can help us. Who would have thought that you couldn't pay off your loan.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing harassment

My loan was transferred to Green Tree Servicing unfortunately when my mortgage was sold by BOA about 18 months ago. My wife and i went through bankruptcy recently but have committed to keep our home. we have never been delinquent on my mortgage. I have paid my mortgage consistently within the grace period. Since my bankruptcy completed, i have been receiving multiple phone calls each day regarding payment, going on now for over 30 days. again, i am not delinquent on my mortgage nor have i ever been. we have tried to plead with them to stop calling and they want us to set up auto withdrawal. we will not because there is a fee through green tree so we do it through our bank at no cost. We get at least 4 calls daily from [protected] at home and at work. This is harassment and we are tired of this occurring. it has to stop. if we were 30 days late, maybe i could see a few calls, however we are not and i am disgusted with the whole green tree/Fanni Mae process. i cant even refinance because green tree is a servicing agent and not a lender so our only option is govt programs which we do not qualify for. This is ridiculous, someone needs to get them to stop calling.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Compounding Interest at end of payment schedule

After paying her contracted amount in full, Green Tree Servicing LLC began to claim that my elderly mother owed them an additional $4744.30 siting interest. Green Tree Servicing LLC attempted to obtain a payment of $366.30 that is twice her normal payment by billing her as a "final payment.” When she attempted to confirm this prior to accepting this as a final arrangement, the Green Tree Servicing LLC collection agent stated that that was a "printing mistake" and that it was in fact "a regular payment" but then threatened her credit reports if she did not pay. She is working with the BBB now. Has anyone gone through the BBB, the FTC, or their state's Attorney General and received a favorable outcome?

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Harassing phone calls

This company calls my house starting the 2nd of the month between 6-15 times per day. They have the option to leave a message, but they never do instead they just keep calling. Last night I was finally home when they called. I answered, of course, and they tried unrelentlessly to get me to post-date funds that are not even in the bank yet. After trying to tell them that I do not post date checks for my protection, Jessica, got a really nasty attitude. This has been an ongoing problem with this company for the past 5 years. I have filed one FTC complaint, and I am ready to do the same again if the practice doesn't stop. I urge all those inundated with their calls and practices to stand up for their rights.

You can control the phone calls. My phone provider is set up to where I do not receive phone calls from anyone that I have not pre-programmed to accept a call. All Greentree gets is a recorded message that says "your call will not be accepted" I always pay my mortgage on time (not on the 1st, but prior to the 16th, which was the agreement with my original mortgage company) and through bill pay with my bank, so I have confirmation that it was paid, and that payment was received. I know Greentree is searching for a phone number so that they can harrass me because when I do call them to try and get the screwy postings corrected, they always ask me "and your phone number is..." They have given me numerous phone numbers which tells me that they are desperately trying to call me on the 1st and the 2nd of the month. The last time I called them, they tried to confirm a phone number that I had 4 years ago! When I told them that was not a correct number, and I confirmed my real phone number, the agent just stuttered and quickly went to another subject. Yes, Greentree has my correct phone number. They are simply not pre-programmed into my phone system to where their call gets through. I would suggest that you find a phone provider with the same service. I guarantee it will save you a lot of stress.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Mortgage Harrassment

Harrassing phone calls begin on the 2nd & 3rd day of the month, sometimes 5-6 calls per day. Representatives are rude, disrespectful and just plain nasty. Payments sent by bank Billpay during the first week of the month are still charged a late fee and Greentree says they do not receive until after the 15th of the month, although two times the bank has cleared their check prior to the 15th. I use Billpay for all my bills and everyone else receives payment within 5 days maximum, usually within 2-3 days. I believe they hold the checks until the 15th so they can charge the late fee. I have had to change my payment method and pay now for proof of delivery. If you pay on their website there is an additional fee and I refuse to get ripped off there too. Beware of this company and if you have the option, don't do business with them! I signed up for paperless statements and now can't access my account on the greentree website, just says call a representative.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Mortgage payments

I owe May 2012 mortgage payment & June 15 is the late date for the June payment. My husband is just back to work after losing his job in April 2011 & we exhausted our savings keeping up on our payments. When I call to tell them when I can make 1 payment for May, they want the entire amount due. They said they've been sending people by our home taking pictures so they can figure out how much they can sell our home for.and the put people like us out of our homes. I set up 1 automatic payment & then found out they set up concurrent automatic payments every month. I do not approve on auto deductions unless I have the money in my checking account. I about went thru the roof when the bank told me they were scheduled every month. I told the bank I didn't approve them to take out monthly payments. Twice they had caused an overdraft & I had to pay late fees which I cannot afford while trying to catch up on other bills. They are mean & nasty on the phone & really don't care about working with you if you're behind on your payments. They only enjoy making threats. It is so stressful trying to work out any arrangement with them. They don't care if you've been out of work or what your story is, they only want their money & a piece of your hide while they're at it. And they don't mind getting a little personal while they're at it! How is this company getting away with these strong arm tactics?

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing No statements

Green Tree Servicing took over our loan from Bank of America, and has been a nightmare since.
I was laid off just before the loan buyout, and had been in contact with Green Tree since the day after i was laid off.
I wanted to know what I can do with the situation. it took 2 weeks plus to get an answer. They started a HASP modified loan application. After almost 3 months of getting the paperwork ironed out, we were denied. Through this time, they said no payments were necessary. Of course, after denial, they had a different story, and started charging late fees from day one. I now am working again, and have accelerated my payments to now be on time with my mortgage. This whole time, we have not received a monthly statement, unless we call and have one faxed to my wifes work. We are now looking to refinance, just to get away from this lender.
If you are doing research on this company in regards to a loan, RUN AWAY !

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Treatment by employee

This complaint is about an employee by the name of Chris Poorten x 36140. He claims to be a manager in the recovery department of Green Tree Servicing. Today, 4/18/12, I called at approximately 3:48pm to ask questions regarding my accounts that are under investigation for fraud. After being transferred a few times, I ended up speaking with Chris Poorten. Apparently he could hear frustration in my voice because he immediately reacted by telling me that I do sound upset and he is going to be VERY careful with the choice of words he uses with me. After conversing with him about the accounts., he placed me on hold to research any scanned documents that were on file. On file, Green Tree should have 9 documents that I faxed in two times, once on February 22 and the same exact documents faxed again on March 6, 2012. When Chris Poorten returned on the line, he advised me that there seemed to be only 2 documents on file. I said this, "You have got to be kidding me? I can't believe this. You have got to be kidding me?" Chris Poorten told me that I need to stop and treat him with respect because he is trying to help me and he is treating me with respect. I told him that there was no reason for him to tell me that because I was not upset at him, just at the situation in general. I told him if he was going to take my reaction about the situation personally, then he should get another manager on the line who can handle this because obviously as a manager himself, he was already not handling this very well. My reactions were about the company and the situation in general and were not directed at him. After I asked him to please get someone else who can deal with this better, he immediately became extremely irate and belligerent. He yelled so loud at me into the phone, I had to remove my ear piece from my ear. I was in complete and utter shock at the way he was screaming at the top of his lungs at me. I of course became extremely upset and began trying to talk over him. I demanded another manager on the phone, but he absolutely refused. As he continued to scream belligerently, I put the phone on speaker so my boyfriend could hear. Chris Poorten continued screaming at me. My boyfriend was appalled at the way this man was screaming at me. The conversation ended with Chris Poorten telling me he is going to disconnect the call even after he finally heard me request another manager. He actually ended the call and obviously ignored my request. I was trying my best to hold back my tears, but, I just couldn't anymore. I cried as I dialed the Green Tree servicing number again. When the first representative answered, he heard how extremely upset I was and immediately transferred me to a manager by the name of Chris Davis x69311. Chris Davis listened to my complaint as I cried about the way I was just treated by a manager in the recovery department. Chris Davis confirmed that yes, Chris Poorten was an employee in his department, but, was uncertain if he was a manager. He seemed very concerned about my complaint and promised this would be investigated. I did ask Chris Davis if the calls were recorded, but, he only said that they can be and they can't be. But, he was definitely going to investigate this situation and report it so they can see if the call was recorded. I tried to contact upper management such as the CEO or President, but, that is nearly impossible. I ended up contacting the Human Resources department. It was a voice messaging system. I left a message with some details about the situation and left my name and phone number for a call back. I can't go back in time, but, I really do wish I would have recorded that conversation on my phone. I really do hope the company investigates this situation, finds that the call was recorded and terminates the employee immediately. it was the most horrible experience of my entire life.

The above comment about chris poorten is accurate. He is a bully and extrememly ignorant. Various investigations have proven that Greentree does support this kind of behaviour because noone has taken action. Chris poorten is a liar and a thief. He will falsify conversations and documents to cover himself. As will other members of management. Whats funny is that sooner or later this will come out and the players involved will have nothing to hide behind. The people at Greentree are untrained uneducated liars. The consistanly break the laws and could easily be sued and lose in court. They have alot of areas of state and federal laws, including labor laws they are breaking every day.

To the person that commented... you sound like a manager at greentree and would not be surprised if it was chris poorten himself. Its the cowardly thing that they do there.

I must say you sound like a whiner who didn't want to pay their mortgage and didn't like the fact that someone informed you that you must pay your debt. Like so many Americans who think complaining about someone who is working to make sure loans are paid back and has to deal with crybabies who think life should give them something and when they decide the loan is too much after the fact they push the blame somewhere else. I hope that employee is notified by their boss and given a "that a boy" for letting a wantabee freeloader the way things are handled in America. PAY WHAT YOU OWE AND SHUT UP.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing will not accept payment????

I have had an incredibly bad experience with this company Green Tree Servicing. My mortage has changed hands three times; first it was with Countrywide who I loved, then it went to BOA who I hated, then it went to this fly by night company Green Tree Servicing which no words can explain how inefficient this company is. First off, I quit paying bills by mail in 1998, so I am not new to internet payments. When I couldn't pay my on time payment to BOA as I always did, never miss a beat since 2006, I had to try and contact this company to make payment. That was the first journey and incredible stupid people once I did get a person. Then they told me that if I made a payment online at their site, it would cost me an additional $12. Well what stupid person wants to incur "any" extra charges to pay their mortgage? Instead I bought a book of bank checks and a book of stamps, both less than one month's charge to use Green Trees "convenient" online bill pay. Well then then little enveleopes started coming in the mail with jibberous about how I should rip off the remittance and send it back with a 'CHECK", DOES ANYONE WRITE CHECKS ANYMORE? So for the last couple months I have been doing that and since I haven't written a check since 1998 it is easy to forget to do so, completely unintentional. But I have been doing it and last month, I sent the cute little oversized waste of paper remittance advice in their envelope stamped with my stamp to them and forgot to put in the check. So big deal. I realized I didn't send the check when I looked in my checkbook so like a responsible homeowner went to my bank account online and issued a check. Well the STUPID people at GTS, couldn't figure out how to post a bigger check (I guess). So someone called me to advise me that they could not post a business size check. (ignorant Illinois folks, do they go to school there or just farm?). Apparently they are not internet savvy out there in the midwest. So anyway I call and got the rudest ignorant person ever on the phone who yelled at me repeated like I was a criminal for sending in a "big" bank check because they don't know how to post it. He was so irate I asked for his supervisor or manager and he yelled somemore like I was avoiding payment or some thing (?) whatever that could be. then this rude ignorant man hung up on me. Nothing resolved my "bigger sized check from the bank" what? still in limbo I guess. What is with that company? who are they? IF you have ever seen the commerical on TV where the woman has a discovery c ard and calls and the Russians in Siberia answer the phone as Peggy, well that is GTE in its essence. A completely ignorant company NOT providing a service but antagonizing their customers who are ? trying to resolve a payment issue they can't comprehend because they are the Peggy's in Illinois? Coming from 7 years in the department of computer science and engineering at the Unversity of Washington in Seattle, WA where the internet was created in our basement, I am disgusted in the year 2012 to be treated in such an ignorant manner. what a sad day it is in Illinois to know that workers are so stupid, no wonder our country is in high unemployment and I hope this JOHN guy I spoke to at 7:06pm on 3.19.12 CMT, gets his ### fired for being such an idiot and ARGUING with a customer who is trying to pay their mortgage as they have always done with countrywide, bank of america and now these idiots. Unbelieveable. What was BOA thinking when they sold my loan to them? Who are these Peggy's?

I just received a call from this company stating this was my final opportunity to reduce my interest rate on my credit card accounts. They stated since I was in great standing on all my credit card accounts, I am eligible for a reduction on my interest rate. I knew this wasn't accurate since I'm in the middle of credit counseling, and my cards are more than 90 days behind. When I told them I was not up-to-date, so where is this information coming from, I was hung up on. I tried to call back but no luck. It was a cell phone in NY assigned to Omni Communications in NY. I'm going to continue to try to reach them.

Ditech Financial / Green Tree Servicing Harrassment

I am going through a short sale. Bank of America holds the first and Greentree holds the second. The harrassment of Greentree goes on everyday even though I have a lawyer in place to broker the short sale deal. They are rude and lie about everything they say. I tried to work out a modification deal with them before I decided to go the short sale route. They were so difficult to work with that I gave up. I am at the point now they can come take the condo with a short sale or a foreclosure. I just want the calls to stop and get back to a normal life. It makes me question everything about America because this company is allowed to do whatever they want and they seem to be doing it to a lot of people! I hope they get a class action lawsuit going against them and BOA for selling my second to them...

Green Tree took over our loan with BOA last year. They have their own insurance co. I have had my own insurance on a rental house since 2007 with the same Insurance Co. Green Tree asked for the lender loss payee to be changed from BOA and I provided that information to my Ins. Co. and they mailed and faxed Proof Of Insurance and change of LLP. Green Tree...
