Placed a collection on my credit report that is not associated with me
I checked my credit report this morning May 30, 2021, and noticed my credit score had dropped 20 points. Investigating further I noticed there had been a collection placed on my credit report from Diversified Adjustment Service for $307 dollars original creditor MidAmerican energy from 4 years and 2 months ago. I have been living in Arkansas and never had...

Diversified Adjustments Service Inc is a joke. I have called their customer service department for the last 4 months and they will not return my phone call.
First off - They contacted me in Jan 2009 and they said they were attempting to collect a debt and that the original debtor was Sprint. I told them that I have was deployed and that I had already closed my account with Sprint and I paid an early termination fee. They said they would investigate and not send this case to the credit bureaus. They later stated that Sprint provided proper paperwork to prove that I owed the debt. I faxed them a copy of a bank statement that showed I payed any fees that were due and I paid an early termination fee. After months of going back and forth and me consistantly providing the appropriate evidence they went ahead and reported it to all three credit bureaus even though they said they wouldn't until they get more information. I have perfect credit and I do not have one single debt or collection account on my report. I diligently keep up on all my bills. Anytime they would call requesting information I would return their call within 24 hours. This whole time I tried calling sprint and was not able to get a hold of someone that could take care of me. Most of the time the phone call just dropped the call once I got through a maze of an auto attendant phone system.
I finally went into the store with my bank statement showing the payment and they confirmed that I never owed the amount that they sent to collections and wrote me an apology letter and a letter to Diversified stating that I never owed the amount and that the attempt to collect should stop. I faxed this document into their office and the confirmed receipt of it and apologized and told me that they cannot remove items on a credit report. Finally they told me that I could get it done by talking to their customer service department. Their customer service department, I eventually found out, consists of one person. I have left messages several times and over the past 4 months and I have never received one phone call. Now I am trying to go through a dispute process through the credit bureaus and I hope to get satisfaction.
I'm not surprised that a business like this handles things in this manner, but I just think that if you pay your bills ontime and you can prove it, it shouldn't be so hard to get someone on the phone that can resolve an issue like this. They do not have a customer service department they are strictly sales oriented sharks, that don't care if they affect your credit.

Credit Reporting Dispute
Set up a 3 month payment plan using my visa card for a $300 debt with US Cellular. The company wasn't able to receiving the first payment of $98 in full so they just took out half the first day then the remainder a couple of days later. Even though they were able to retrieve the full amount of the first agreed upon payment they still report this account to the Credit Bureaus and now they're saying I must pay in full before they can remove it. Is this fair?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
You should have sent a Debt Validation letter with a limited cease and desist communication. They called me twice, I threatened to sue, haven't heard from them since. The also disappeared off my credit report. FYI, they most likely will not remove the neg from your credit report. Get it in writing before you send more money. they already lied to you once.

This is an office line in the division of corrections. They have left over 20 messages after hours in the last couple of months. I usually just delete them, because I don't owe anyone any money and I am the only person in this office. I have had this phone number for about one year. The message says, "this is Diversified Adjustment Services, a debit collections services. Please call [protected]". There is no other information. Since the calls have been coming everyday for the last week, I decided to call. Well, needless to say, I have been calling since 7:15 am and it is now 4:46 pm and I have not been able to speak to anyone yet! I have called every hour on the hour and all I get is "please enter your reference number or account number, then press #. If you would like to speak to a rep, please press 0. All I got was, "we are not able to take your call at this time. Please try your call later". How could anyone enter a reference # or acct. #, when one is not given. There isn't even a name of who they are trying to reach. This is a place of business and I am about to report the to the States Attorney Office, because this is a government agency that they are harassing.
I agree with you. Today, while doing my homework, their services called me talking about I owe them $74 for some library books. I was surprised and trying to get more information. Over the phone this lady were yelling at me say "Oh we need you to pay right now over the phone! You have been owe us $74 since august!" And i swear to God I never know anything about this. They didn't sent me any letter for prove that i owe them money or never called me to inform. Out of no where i have to pay the amount of money when I'm just a high school student. And plus the person that borrow the books is not even me. They just call and starting yelling. Yeah, very professional!
