Tile installation
I contracted dolphin carpet and tile Oakland park to supply and install tile in my unit. the installer came and began to install the tile. thinking they would do a professional job , I left and returned some time later. at that time I notice they were laying the tile in an unplanned fashion. this would result in small tile pieces at the edge of the room they started in. the installer assured me this would only be on the one wall. next day they arrived again and while they were working, I noticed there would be a border in every room. I immediately called the manager of the store to stop the work. unfortunately , he did nothing. I then told the installer the next day to stop the work and leave. I enlisted the help of the district manager who came to see the work and he had a conversation in Spanish with the installer. the tile had to be picked up and reinstalled. the installer complained and moaned but agreed. unfortunately he chipped many tiles and reinstalled the chipped tiles which I did not notice immediately. . also, during the installation, the install team ruined furniture, and tore some window blinds apart ( yes window blinds).
I have never seen a worse job of tile installation. on top of this, a month later the tiles started cracking due to uneven and missing thinnest and the company is not honoring their so called one year warranty. subsequently I must pay a more professional installer to repair the cbroken tiles at my expense. the new installer alerted me to the poor job the dolphin people did and told me I can expect more tiles to break due to the inferior underlayment they used.
THIS COMPANY IS NOT UPSTANDING IN ANY WAY.
Desired outcome: credit for additional work to repair tiles and supply additional tiles for future repairs.
Tile purchase and installation
I purchased tile and installation at the Oakland park store. installers who I was told worked for the company were actually independent contractors. they arrive and I explained exactly what I wanted. unfortunately they proceeded to do the opposite and had to tear up and relay the tiles which I was charged additionally for. these installers made a mess of my place, ruined furniture and never completed the job. unfortunately dolphin refused to take any responsibility.
Desired outcome: repair damages and offer a cash adjustment
Terrible company... Mediocre work and not trustworthy
Stay away from dolphin carpet and tile Dolphin carpet and tile is not a trustworthy company. I contracted for new tile floors in my unit. They did a mediocre job of laying the tiles. Aside from that, they chipped furniture Chipped doors Left doors that they removed uninstalled Remove the toilets and left them in the shower stalls Gouged walls and door...

However each delivery time provided comes and goes without any progress of my carpet being received.
You can either tell the customer the truth that the product that you’re ordering for them will not be able to be there within 90 days or continue to lie and drag out the customers desired outcome for delivery
Desired outcome: Full refund, new replacement carpet for the horrible in inconvenience, embarrassment and emotional distress not having my home in a presentable manner over the holidays and the death of a family
Not doing the work as per the requested order printed on the invoice
To Whom It May Concern;
Our order #432517 To : 1203 Eucalyptus dr , Hollywood, FL, zip 330021 Was placed on 01/10/2022 in the amount of $4000 and was scheduled to be installed on 1/28/2022. On 01/28/2022 no one came to insatll our flooring. We were not informed from the evening of 01/27/2022 that the workers will not be coming on 01/28/2022. In this regard, my husband and I lost our working days. On 01/29/22 (Saturday) a team of workers of 3 people arrived. Husband paid $4400 I accepted the color of Bionyl Pro Lamina Sualbard Oak which matches the selected color. Due to the fact that they did not speak English, I showed them my order #432517 , signed for the color of the laminate and pointed to remove and reinstall the baseboard as indicated on the order. We were convinced that a professional team would come and do everything that was as ordered on the receipt which we paid . After 3 hours of work, I went up to look at the work and saw that they did not remove the baseboards as per the work order. When asked what they were doing, they showed the moulding that I did not order. We spoke through an interpreter as no one could speak English. The Flooring was already laid by about 30% and of such quality. On my claims, they collected their things and left. (and this was quite aggressive on the part of the workers) So they left us for the weekend 01/29/2022 to return on Monday (01/31/2022). After a call from store manager Rob Apakian in a rude form, he said that he would not dismantle the floor and we would continue work on Monday. We had to go to the store and buy new molding for the amount of $350.00. Receipts are available. On Monday 01/31/22 the same group of workers came and continued to install the floor. (+1 new person) They finished the job within a day. I couldn't see how much they corrected their mistakes. Since there was no opportunity to go up and check due to work on the stairs. I accepted the work in this form (2 slats of a different color and another forms) 2 lamps were knocked out on the ceiling The walls were left in this state along the entire corridor The wall was left in the locker room In the form of door jambs So the space between the doors and the floor was closed We were assured that if there were any problems on the floor we would the opportunity to get it fixed through the developer company, but it did not happen. Laminate was laid on such a floor. No one called us after the work was done, no one offered to recalculate the rails that were not ordered. Please apologize for the wrong order. I am very sorry that I chose your company to do this job. My family has a lot of experience working with different companies and we have always been 100% satisfied with the personal approach to our orders. We received an incorrectly executed order from you for full payment work in the amount of $ 8400 and a rude attitude towards us, the client. Dolphin Carpet did not live up to the work that was promised in writing forcing us to spend extra money for completing a job that was not only done at the promised time but also as I mentioned cost us a days wages.Thank you My phone is [protected] Rafael Narvaez. All photos and videos are available . If you are interested to see.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a refund for the necessary work and for molding that was purchased to finish the work. Some compensation for not doing the work that was promised. They told us that someone forgot to call us to reschedule the date.
I feel that Dolphin Carpet and Tile did not live up to their agreement of installing our flooring and charged us for work that was not done and needed to be done to avoid the extra expense we incurred. This work was printed on the invoice before the work was finished.

I went today to Dolphin and tile carpet company in West Kendall and purchased tile. I told the salesman that I was going to need the merchandise in 9 days. The company refuses to refund $1850 paid for by my Father, who is since deceased, for a job that was never completed.
My father hired Dolphin Carpet and Tile in Deerfield Beach, Florida, to replace carpeting in his house following a flood that destroyed the carpeting. Prior to the carpet installation, the walls of the rooms that were to be carpeted had to be re-dry walled and painted. Unbeknownst to me, my Dad paid $1850 (Master bedroom) of the total quoted amount of $3, 500 (mater bedroom plus 2 guest bedrooms) to Dolphin Carpet and Tile in January 2016 prior to the job being started. The balance of $1650 was to be paid once the job was completed. Unfortunately, my Dad passed away 2 days before the carpet was to be installed and prior to the job even being started. However, to his credit and unbeknownst to me or my brother, my Dad had already written out a check to pay the remainder of the balance. However, when Dolphin arrived to install the carpet 2 days after my Dad passed away, Annette Patalidis from Dolphin kept calling my brother demanding the remainder of the payment before the job could get started. Because my Dad had just passed away, we were unsure of how to proceed with writing a check on his behalf since we didn't have a trust banking account set up since my Dad passed away unexpectedly. In addition, we were unaware that my Dad had already written out a check for Dolphin that he had left in his checkbook. Since I am the executor of my Dad's trust, my brother kept contacting me on the day of the installation to bring over a check on behalf of my Dad. Per my brother, "every 15 minutes", Annette Patalidis from Dolphin Carpet and Tile was calling him about the check for the remainder of the balance. Unreasonable, since Dolphin already had $1850 and they hadn't even started to install the carpeting when the workers from Dolphin asked for a check for the remaining balance. When the workers from Dolphin did start the job, despite not having the remainder balance, they banged up the recently painted walls and base boards and my brother fired them from the job due to their poor workmanship. My brother took pictures of the damage, which I also witnessed upon inspection of the house later that same day. As I am the executor of my Dad's estate, I recently discovered on April 5, 2016 that my Dad had paid Dolphin $1850 on January 29, 2016 with check# 1389, the cost of carpeting the master bedroom, for a job that was never done. I called Dolphin on 4/5/16 and spoke to the manager Paul who stated that the money wouldn't be refunded because my brother was "abusive" to his workers company and himself, prior and during the job. Tried to explain to Paul that his workers damaged the walls and base boards in my Dad's newly painted rooms for which we have pictures to document the damage. Paul didn't care about the damage or the poor workmanship stating that their company has a waiver on the back of their contract to exonerate them from damage done to people's houses during installation. Needless to say, I was denied the refund on behalf of my Dad and essentially this unscrupulous company has kept the money for a job that was never done. I am requesting the refund of $1850 for a job that was never completed. If the company is unwilling to refund the money then they should at least give us the carpeting that had already been paid for and for which reportedly, per Paul, had already been cut to fit the rooms. This is an unacceptable business practice. If my brother was abusive and threatened Dolphin workers before and during the entire process as reported by their manager Paul, then why didn't Dolphin fire my Dad as a client and refund the money before the project was ever started. In addition, if my brother threatened his workers physically as Paul claimed at the time Dolphin arrived to install the carpeting, then why didn't Dolphin call the police? Just excuses from an unscrupulous company who has failed to refund a deceased man's money or at least deliver us the carpeting that has already been cut and paid for by my deceased father. Once I published a negative review of their company on Yelp and reported the issue to the Better Business Bureau, the manager Paul was only then willing to refund me $1350 but, only under the stipulation, that I remove my Yelp review and rescind my complaint with the BBB. I was unwilling to do so until AFTER I received the refund. Dolphin refuses to refund me until their demands are met. Therefore, we are at a stand still with our negotiations for a resolution of this issue. However, the company's policy reportedly is to refund 50% of the down payment as a restocking/cancellation fee. If that were the case, then why didn't the company automatically refund my father 50% of the $1850 down payment prior to my having to call the company 2 months after my father fired them. Buyer beware of this company.
The company reimbursed me $1350 of the initial $1850 down payment in exchange that I would remove the negative reviews of their company that were placed on Yelp, ComplaintsBoard and CustomerLobby.
Very poor workmanship
I purchased a total of more than $15, 000 at Dolphin carpet and tile. They started with the ground floor installing over 900 sq ft of tile of which 15% are laid incorrectly, meaning that there are corners that are much higher that the tile around it enough for a vacuum cleaner to get caught when going over the tile, then in addition I had a special design done at the homes entrance way using a beautiful mosaic tile. The mosaic tile also sits much higher the tile around it and at first they left one corner with no mosaic tiles saying they could not do that one. I had them come out again, and they finally completed the mosaic, however several of the glass mosaic tile pieces were cracked and chipped. But that was ok according to the so called engineer to him was normal.
When they came to do the stair case and the hallway upstairs with the engineered wood, they laid several bands of brown paper down on the sub floor in the hallway and then they assembled the flooring and nailed it down. Several areas have lifted up and the floor creaks and crackles as if the entire floor was to collapse any second, but that too is normal and that Dolphin is not responsible for the quality of sub floor, which by the way is perfectly in order. This to was called normal by the engineer. I then stated that Dolphin was the experts, and if the sub floor was not up to par why was I not told prior to the installation, I mean after all I am just the customer that is paying for the job, not the supposed expert! As far as the stair case goes, the two pieces of vertical face plate wood installed is pushed in along the connecting joint at the middle seam sort of like a wide spread “V” but the inspector stated that this is due to my staircase not the installation work. This is also BS as the wood used on my stair cases vertical joint is 1/2 inch solid wood so therefore it can’t be that the board is bent in the middle. At that point I moved on to the fact that the surface of the stair was glued and that the wood is no longer adhered to many of the wood pieces thus when you go up the stairs you get a popping noise from the wood as you lift up your foot to go to the next stair. That to was called normal. On the stairs he stated that the popping noise is due to me being a big guy. I stated to him that my 5 year old grandson is not a big heavy guy and when he goes up the stairs they do the same thing. His response was that this is normal. I then stated that I have had 4 different companies come out and look at the wood installation and they all stated that there should have been the special padding placed under the flooring in the hallway to stop all the creaking and crackling and that they have never heard of paper being used. They also agreed that the stair case is just a mess and should be ripped out and re-done properly.
As stated above, Dolphin sent one of their so called inspectors out to the house, which in reality is nothing more than a BS clown, whose only purpose is to tell you stories of why anything you complain about is that way etc because it is correctly installed.
At that point I knew that all this clown was here for was to BS his way out of having to repair anything, so I then asked the clown and his staff to leave and that I would solve this issue another way and that I am not some dummy that you can just BS.
I will never ever in my remaining life time go to them again for anything. They, the installers for Dolphin are a just a group of backyard installers.
As far as the product goes, I do wish to state that it is not bad at all, and that the sales men do their job helping the customer decide on things they can do to make the finished installed product look great and it would look great if only the installation was done right. However, they use small backyard specialists that have watched someone else do the job, and now they are professional experts and when you complain they send out the “BS” clowns!
Beware of this company and think about having the tiny backyard companies full of so called experts come out and screw up your installation. Remember the old saying that you get what you pay for however Dolphin charges you the fees of professionals and sends out the back-yardigans to do the job, and then when you complain the BS clown comes out to try to appease you by telling you all these ridicules stories.
I'm with you 1000 %. they are the scummiest ( does that word even exist?) company around. The have cloned parrots for engineers that are trained in BS. Keep putting out the word.

DC&T currently installing carpet at our condo, a 3 floor building. Weeks of delays in starting the job, the tile they laid first had to be fixed before carpet could begin. 3 employees came to quote the job but still they did not plan for extra men to carry carpet up the stairs (rolls too big for the elevator), and even refused to send more men when asked, so condo had to hire 2 extras to help. Still, the carpet that should have been rolled out in a long hallway has FOUR poorly done seams in it. Although carpet was probably glued down, it nevertheless has loose looking spots where it's not flat to the concrete beneath. The carpet is thin and, when taken together with the bad seams, it doesn't look like it will last long once residents begin using it. I suspect that if our condo board had looked at the BBB's site and the "complaint" sites, they may not have chosen Dolphin Carpet and Tile. I'm sure none who've witnessed the goings on over the past month will ever use their company.
I had a run in with this company as well:
On 08DEC2012 roughly 10:45AM. I was verbally accosted by an employee of Dolphin Carpet & Tile that is referred to as “Randy”. I had parked in a location that was indicated for Patrons to Dolphin Carpet & Tile and Randy instructed that I was not to park in the location. I noted that in the future the issue would not occur again and was then threatened, “I will remember who he his.” When I exited the store front “Randy” was recording license plate information from my personal automobile. I asked him if he required additional information such as my Florida Driver License and Veteran Identification Card. He then became verbally hostile and informed me that I was trespassing.
Randy barred me from obtaining services from Dolphin Carpet & Tile due to my Veteran Status. He was distraught due to my patriotism and treated me poorly. I would expect better from a person and better from the company.
if you only knew what these crooks have done to my entire house with regards to installation of engineered wood. they told me that i did not need the membrane because i had low moisture. of course they did the moisture testing in the winter when there is no moisture. within one year of installation i had black stains all over my entire house. they first tried to tell me it was my ac and or hot water heater. could not be because that was in the garage. then they told me i had a leaking roof. can't be because all my ceilings are new in the house and not one stain was visible. then they told me it must be my doors and windows. can't be because all new impact glass. then they tried to say it was coming from outside due to my new pavers. oh and the greatest one of all: that i live on the water and this is florida and we have high humidity. ( then why the hell do they even do a moisture test? if you saw the episode of homes on homes on hgtv he says to NEVER put engineered wood on top of concrete WITHOUT using a membrance) like i moved the water here after installation. i also had the same clowns come out here with the same bs stories. this company should be shut down at once. if only more people did their homework and checked the complaints on the internet they would quickly realize that this company should never be used or be able to stay in buisiness. they agreed that there was a problem and want to rip it all up but then charge me approx 6, 000.00 to now put the membrane in. no one is paying for me to empty my house again and repair all the baseboards and door moldings that now are going to be ruined because of this company. i would not pay this company one more red cent. this is a company that is spending millions on all their advertising on tv and newspapers and they say and advertise that they "get it right." i wish we could all band together and file a major suit against this company and the ### that owns it. it would have been nothing for them to make it right. they could have rec'd most if not all of the materials for free and very little in labor to make it right but theyt chose not to do it. how about picketing? i will be there with bells on. just keep spreading the word and let everyone know that you know what a crappy terrible company this really is. if we can stop just even one sale a year that would make me very happy. please feel free to contact me and lets do something about dolphine carpet and tile !
Terrible experience
Today, my wife & I experienced a TERRIBLE experience with a carpet cleaning company here in Boynton Beach, FL. called DOLPHIN CARPET & TILE COMPANY. I have also written BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU re: this matter. Unbeknown to us, we heard from another owner of a business called DOLPHIN CARPET & TILE SALES, that this Carpet Cleaning Company has an F rating. The man who we encountered ended up NOT giving us even a receipt for his terrible work on our carpeting & chairs, and ended up directing loud & terrible profanity at us, including the F word over & over .. threatening us as he left with his van. I stopped payment on the check & also gave a report tonight to the Boynton Beach Police.
We need to talk to someone who can give us counsel re: this Company!
It was, as stated earlier .. a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
PLEASE CONTACT US & GIVE US YOUR COUNSEL! THANK YOU!

We ordered over 17k worth of carpet and flooring. Their sales people have no idea, how to calculate or explain. Measuring people over measured us by at least 150 sqft and when we had extra boxes to return the reply form the store is even more ridiculous. Never shop or trust these guys. Corporate will handle i guess but they are a rip off when it comes to returns, calculations or service. yuck..

Sorry, but to call a consumer's expectation unreasonable on this website shows at the very least poor taste on your part. A true professional would have handled the matter in a private manner, and not made it public so as to humiliate and embarrass the consumer. As an assistant GM I am surprised that you would chose this course of action to voice your opinions. For shame.
Mrs. Levy has failed to mention several FACTS regarding the above issue.
#1 The product that was signed for and written on the contract is the exact same product they had written down on a business card that was brought into our store (after they shopped around). This is the exact product they received.
#2 Upon pick up from our warehouse their representative was asked to inspect the tile and sign that they were the correct product.
#3 Our mutual agreement clearly indicates that once the product is installed there would be no claims for material.
#4 THEIR installer installed the tile without confirming with the customer that it was correct. (The Levy's had TWO samples of the tile)
#5 The total of material the installer already installed was 22 out of a total of 222 boxes.
#6 We replaced the uninstalled tile at no charge and replaced the installed tile for a price BELOW our cost.
#7 We have no control of what other installers do, the fact that Mr. or Mrs. Levy did not check the tile prior to installation or the fact they did not provide their delivery person or installer with the sample to confirm is beyond our control.
It is unfortunate that someone decided to post comments that are only the half truth. We did EVERYTHING that any reputable company can do.
Their expectation that we should pay for their delivery, rental of a crane, and installation of material by their installer is unreasonable.
Should the Levy's have any further concerns they can reach me at any time.

Absolute nightmare of a company to work with! I hope people read these comments before buying from them, wish I would have. After going there a few times and always picking the same tile we decided to purchase from them. Unfortunately it is for a second house not in our county and could not see what was being installed but luckily our builder called us and said this is not what you showed me that you purchased. I immediately went to the store with my reciept and the manager of the store says "oh wow I wrote down the wrong number". Well too bad for me, I signed the paper not knowing what the proper number was. They did take back the tile that wasn't already laid but I am out what was laid, the expense of what was laid and having to get a crane to get the wrong tile to the second floor and having to do it all again...no refund we still had to buy the tile from them. Imagine how happy I am with this company.

The Dolphin Carpet and Tile that advertises on TV is even worse. I had 1, 600 SF of tile installed in my house and their installer pushed my refrigerator back into place and crimped the water supply line to the icemaker. A leak caused water and mold damage to my kitchen cabinets, walls and baseboards. The installer also used a grout that wasn't anything close to what I selected. To make matters worse, the installer lied about his actions and Dolphin Carpet and Tile refused to stand by their guarantee. I'm an insurance adjuster and I deal with this type of damage every day. I always make it a point to tell my policyholders which companies to avoid when trying to restore their homes and these guys are at the top of the list.
**Please Note** The company I had a problem with is Dolphin Carpet and Tile Cleaning and Restoration which is NOT associated with the Dolphin Carpet and Tile we see advertised on TV. They also do business as USA Powerclean.
Well, I read this too late. They were here last night and I had several differing of opinions with the owner/operator. Who knew that "cleaning and sealing all the grout and tile in the house" means different things to different people? He considers it to be only high traffic areas,(no moving of large furniture) I though all the tile was just that, all the tile. All of the things they did move, they didn't put back. My home is in chaos. My freshly painted wall are marked now and I will spend the next couple of days cleaning a 2 inch border of grime that is around every room that was "cleaned." This is not what I bargained for.
PLEASE BE AWARE!
This is not "Dolphin Carpet & Tile". We are the full service retailers that advertise on television and print. Dolphin Carpet & Tile Cleaning has been trying to play off our name at our expense. We are constantly receiving complaints from customers who are misled by this other comapny. We apologize to all of the misled consumers who have purchased cleaning services from them thinking they are dealing with the authentic "Dolphin Carpet & Tile", South Florida's Largest Floor Covering Dealer.
We are currently persuing legal remedies to have them change their name. Should you wish to email us your compaint if you were also misled, It would help us with litigation.
