Mixed Feelings About Dot & Bo: Long Wait Time and Poor Packaging
I recently made a purchase from Dot & Bo, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. I ordered two large pieces of furniture, and while I was excited to receive them, the wait time was longer than expected. The website stated that the items would arrive within 3-4 weeks, but one piece took 5 weeks to arrive and the other took a whopping 8 weeks.
When the boxes finally arrived, I was disappointed to see that they were in terrible condition. They were ripped and partially opened, and it looked like they had been dragged to my doorstep. I was worried that the furniture inside would be damaged, but luckily, they were only a little scratched and dinged.
Both pieces of furniture were of the rustic style, so the minor imperfections actually added character to them. However, if I had ordered something more formal or modern, I would have been extremely unhappy with the condition they arrived in.
Despite the poor packaging, I decided not to contact Dot & Bo to ask for replacements or to complain about the condition of the furniture. I just didn't want to deal with the hassle of waiting for new pieces to arrive.
The first piece, an Industrial Roll shelf, was easy to put together and had no missing or broken parts. It's a nice piece and I'm happy with it. The second piece, a Rolling Rustic Bookshelf made from iron, tin, and wood, had some issues. It was bent and I had to really work at forcing the pieces together. I was relieved to find that all the small screws were present, as the box had several open areas and they could have easily fallen out. However, the biggest issue was that two feet fell off as I was screwing in the casters. They were very poorly spot welded. I plan on putting them back on with epoxy and hopefully they will hold.
Overall, I like the look of the furniture, but I feel that Dot & Bo could have done a better job with the construction and how easily it is put together. I'm pretty handy, so I didn't have any real issues, but if you're not, these pieces could be a bit of a challenge.
Due to the long wait time and the poor packaging, I'm not sure if I would order from Dot & Bo again. While I appreciate the unique and stylish furniture they offer, I would hope that they improve their shipping and packaging methods to ensure that their customers receive their purchases in better condition.
Dot & Bo Review: Poor Quality Products and Unfair Customer Service
I bought some stuff from Dot & Bo in April 2015. I got three Whitestone Pendant Lamps for $149.99 each and a Friends and Family Dining Table for $973.99. The stuff came in late April, but we didn't use it until September because we were doing some work in the kitchen. In January 2016, I saw that two of the lamps were changing color and getting big black spots on them. The spots were getting bigger and making the lamps look different. One lamp didn't have any spots. The dining table was supposed to have a "Walnut Veneer," but it was actually just plastic wrap. During the holidays, I saw that the plastic was bubbling up, peeling, and cracking in two spots on opposite sides of the table.
I called Dot & Bo Customer Service to tell them that the stuff was bad and I wanted my money back. Jessica told me that I couldn't get a refund because I didn't tell them about the problems within 48 hours of getting the stuff. They said they would give me a store credit for 30% of what I spent. I think that's not fair because the stuff was bad and it shouldn't have been bad so soon. Dot & Bo should take responsibility for selling bad stuff.
This week, Dot & Bo said they would replace the bad lamp shades because they shouldn't have gone bad so fast. But they won't do the same thing for the table.
Dot & Bo Review: Overpriced Shipping, Inadequate Descriptions, and Little Buyer Protection
I recently made a purchase on Dot & Bo's website for a desk that required partial assembly. The website stated that there would be a shipping surcharge of $50, in addition to the regular shipping charges. When the desk arrived, it was completely unassembled and came in a flat pack box. I was surprised that the shipping cost so much for an unassembled item, and I wouldn't have paid that much if I had known beforehand.
I contacted customer care and they were able to arrange a credit for the shipping charges, but it was only in the form of a store credit. Unfortunately, the store credit expires in a couple of weeks and cannot be used towards shipping charges on future purchases. This means that I would have to spend more money on shipping just to use the credit. I also noticed that many of the products on their website have outrageous shipping surcharges, which makes me think that the company is making a significant profit off of shipping charges.
As I continued to browse their site, I found that many of their products are non-returnable and have inadequate descriptions and photos. There is also no product review system in place, which makes it difficult to know if the product is of good quality or if it's difficult to assemble. Overall, I feel that there is very little buyer protection on this website.
In my opinion, Dot & Bo is a sub-par online retailer and I wouldn't recommend giving them your hard-earned money. There are plenty of other places to buy home goods and furniture that don't require taking such a risk.
Buyer Beware: My Experience with Dot & Bo's Overpriced Items and Shady Tactics
I gotta tell ya, I almost got scammed by Dot & Bo. I was about to buy this super cool wall hook with colorful balls on the ends and a vintage-looking trunk, but then I did some digging and found out they buy from Etsy sellers and other wholesalers and jack up the prices like crazy. I mean, we're talking 2-3 times the original price! Can you believe it? The items are exactly the same, too. I found my wall hook for $45, but Dot & Bo was trying to sell it for $89! That's just not right.
And don't even get me started on their shipping times. It takes forever to get your stuff, and by the time it arrives, you're either gonna be disappointed or over it. It's just not worth it, ya know? If you find something you like on Dot & Bo, make sure you do your research and look for similar items on Google, Etsy, or wherever. You'll probably find the same thing for way cheaper, and you'll be supporting the artist directly instead of some middleman trying to make a quick buck.
Oh, and speaking of shady stuff, Dot & Bo asks you to enter your email just to browse their website. What's up with that? It's like they're trying to trick you into signing up for their spammy newsletters. And let me tell you, those newsletters are not worth it. They don't offer any discounts or anything, they just showcase a bunch of expensive items that look like they're on sale. Trust me, they're not.
I gotta admit, I was really drawn to Dot & Bo's cute website and their curated collection of cool stuff. But now that I know what's really going on, I'm steering clear. Their resell prices are outrageous, their shipping times are ridiculous, and their email tactics are just plain sketchy. Don't be fooled like I almost was!
Disappointed with Dot & Bo's Customer Service: A Review
I recently made some purchases for Christmas from Dot & Bo, a website that I stumbled upon while browsing through my email. I usually shop on Amazon, but I decided to give other companies a try this time around. I was excited to take advantage of the sales that were being offered and I made sure to keep an eye on the shipment schedules for my purchases.
As the items started arriving, I noticed that the shipment schedule for one of my purchases had changed from the original dates to not having any dates listed at all. I was concerned and decided to email customer service to inquire about the situation. I was surprised when they told me that they would need a couple of days to look into it. I mean, don't they have computers and phones? I waited a couple of days and checked in again through email, but I was told that they were still waiting on information from the warehouses and it would take a few more days. I was getting frustrated and still had no information on why there weren't any dates listed.
I decided to call customer service and was surprised when their immediate response was to ask if I wanted to cancel my order. I was taken aback and told them that I just wanted to know when my item would be delivered and why it didn't have any dates listed. They told me that it would still take a few days to figure it out.
Later that day, I received an email from customer service that left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. They had just discovered that my order from a month ago was discontinued and that they had gone ahead and cancelled my order. I couldn't believe it! Two days before it was supposed to arrive, four weeks after I ordered it, and one week after I started asking questions, they finally told me that it was discontinued. I was angry and felt like I had been misled.
I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at Dot & Bo. All of the nice words in the world will not answer the simple question I asked which was, do you have this item or not. I learned my lesson and will NOT be using Dot and Bo again. As to their excuse that it's a busy season, I would suggest that online shoppers use Amazon OR One Kings Lane which I had extremely great service with. No excuses from them and prompt, helpful responses unlike the ridiculousness at Dot & Bo.
Dot and Bo Review: Terrible Inventory Management and Nonexistent Customer Service
This company is the worst e-commerce company I've ever dealt with in my 21 years of purchasing online. I ordered two bar stools on sale during Black Friday last year. After a few weeks, I received an email saying that the item had been discontinued, and they would refund my credit card. I was disappointed, but I thought it was just a one-time issue.
In early February this year, I saw that the bar stools were available again on their website. I called Dot and Bo and spoke to Matthew, who assured me that they were indeed available. Although they were at their Nevada Warehouse, he said it would still take about four weeks for them to ship. I was hesitant, but he guaranteed me that this time, I would receive the bar stools. So, I placed the order on February 12th.
Fast forward to March 7th (today), and I received the exact same email telling me that they were just informed that the bar stools have been discontinued, and they are cancelling my order. I was furious. The refund does nothing to make up for the time I've wasted twice trying to place the order with this company. It's been three months, and I still don't have stools for my kitchen.
It's clear that this company has no control over their inventory. Based on my experience and the other reviews I see here, this company is not long for this world. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with Dot and Bo. A reputable company that knows what it's doing doesn't take almost four weeks to determine that they've sold you something they don't have. This is not an honest or reputable company.
To make matters worse, a week after I spoke with their representative when they cancelled my second order, the bar stools still showed up as available for purchase on their website at a much higher price. Either their supervisors can't even correct inventory errors on the website, or this company is playing games.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Dot and Bo to anyone. They have terrible inventory management, and their customer service is nonexistent. Save yourself the time and frustration and shop elsewhere.
Dot & Bo Review: Great Selection, Poor Customer Service & Return Policies
Dot & Bo is a website that sells a variety of home decor items, furniture, and accessories. However, their customer service is not up to par. I recently purchased some star string lights for my son, but one of them arrived damaged. When I reported the issue, I was told that since they were final sale items, I could not get a refund. This was frustrating, especially since I had a pending order worth over $3000. It was not a smart move on their part to refuse to cancel the order.
If you're looking to buy something from Dot & Bo, I recommend doing some research first. They don't have exclusive rights to most of their products, so you can easily find the same item elsewhere. Just look for the designer name or save the image and use Google's "search by image" feature. You'll likely find the same item for a lower price, with better shipping options and customer service. For example, I recently saw a credenza on sale on Dot & Bo, but I found the same one for hundreds less on Wayfair, Gilt, and DenyDesigns. These websites also have more forgiving return policies and better customer service than Dot & Bo.
It's not worth paying almost double for inferior customer service and return policies. Dot & Bo charges separate shipping and delivery fees, which is shady. They also don't stand behind their products for 48 hours, which is unreasonable for a company selling expensive furniture. Most companies have better return policies, better customer service, and the same products at lower prices.
Despite these issues, I still visit Dot & Bo regularly. I like their selection of items and find it easy to find things I love. However, I won't be buying anything from them again. If you're looking to buy something from Dot & Bo, be aware of their customer service policies and do your research to find the same item for a better price elsewhere.
Dot & Bo Review: Beautiful Emails, Disappointing Products & High Return Fees
I've been getting those emails from Dot & Bo for a couple of years now, and I have to say, they are BEAUTIFULLY crafted. However, my experience with the actual products has been less than satisfactory.
About a year ago, I ordered two sliver-trimmed cocktail glasses. They weren't terribly expensive, but they were costly enough. When they arrived, I didn't open the package for over two weeks, as I was on the road for work. When I finally did open them, I was disappointed to find that the silver plate had overspray on the side of the glass. It was permanent and not attractive at all. The quality was really poor. I didn't bother to go through the trouble of returning them, but if I had, I wouldn't have made mistake #2, which was a subsequent, BIG order.
In late August, I ordered the Sterling couch in black. It is a regular item in their inventory, and it was allegedly on sale for half price. However, I soon found out that this was always the price, and they manipulate the In Stock inventory to ramp up demand. The Sterling couch is a thing of Mid-Century Modern beauty. It is stunning to look at.
The trouble was, it took me five weeks to get a look at it. Shipping was $200, which seemed high compared to other internet vendors' 0-$100 fee for similar service. When the couch finally arrived, it was a thing of beauty. Style to the max. However, it was not padded enough, anywhere, for any level of comfort. The seats were almost hard, and gave way after an hour of sitting. If I moved over, I'd find a comfy spot, until it settled in. So, I had to move again after the first place regained its spring. The back of the couch had a horizontal top board that was so lacking padding that it caused pain and light bruising of my shoulder blades. SO beautiful, yet, so useless.
I took advantage of the 30-day return policy, but little did I know that the policy would take care of me. While I got a prompt Partial Refund, I was hit with a $200 return shipping fee. Almost unconscionable. Customer service was perfunctory and unmoved by my complaints on the costs. Of course, after the fourth email, they pointed to the return language buried deep in the bowels of the website. The Partial Refund was all I was to get.
Be absolutely sure that a return will not be needed, or you WILL PAY. I am 0 for 2 with Dot & Bo. I've unsubscribed from their beautiful emails, but then something unexpected happened.
Given my penchant for persistence and petulance, I was awarded a $100 store credit at Dot & Bo. I'm inclined to use the credit, BUT, it specifically excludes shipping costs, so, if that $100-ish item is not satisfactory, I'm on the hook for shipping BOTH ways. I'll give it a try, because I'm nothing if not a good sport. But, believe that I will monitor and examine all the contingencies of this next transaction very closely. And, I will report.
Dot & Bo Review: Don't Waste Your Money on Their Overpriced Furniture
I gotta say, if you're thinking about buying something expensive, like furniture, you better think twice before you go to Dot & Bo. I got myself a Calcutta arm chair from them back in May of '14, and with shipping, it cost me over a grand. Now, I'll admit, the chair was pretty, but it wasn't all that comfortable. Still, I was happy to have it in my room. But then, I went on vacation for two weeks in June, and when I came back in July, I saw that the fabric on the chair was all torn up in a bunch of places, and the stitching where the saris were sewn together was coming undone too. So, I wrote an email to Dot & Bo on July 20th, but I didn't hear back from them for three whole days, so I called them up. The customer rep I talked to was nice enough, and she said they'd look into it. But then, over a week later, I finally got an email from them apologizing for the delay (they said my email got lost), and they said they'd give me a $50 credit if I sent them pictures of the damage. Now, let me tell you, $50 is only 0.05% of what I paid for that chair. So, I asked to speak to a manager, but two weeks went by without any contact from them. So, I called them up again, and the rep I talked to apologized and said she left a message on my phone, but I never got it.
Now, here's the thing: I paid ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for that chair. That's a lot of money, you know? And yeah, I called them about the damage after their two week return policy (I'd had the chair for about a month and a half by then), but still. I think Dot & Bo should have done one of three things: replace the chair, give me a store credit, or give me a refund. But the rep said they couldn't know if I caused the damage myself (I don't have any animals, but I do have small kids), and she said the chair was one of their best-sellers and no one else had complained about it. So, basically, she was saying that the damage was my fault because I used the chair too much. But let me tell you, I have a house full of furniture, some of it over a hundred years old, and none of it is in as bad shape as that two month old chair. So, maybe my chair was just defective or something, you know? The material is recycled sari fabric, after all.
Anyway, I think Dot & Bo should have valued my experiences and concerns as a customer, but they didn't. The rep asked me to send her pictures, and she said she'd look into it, but two weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. So, I sent them an email asking about the status of my request, and they offered me a fifty dollar credit again, saying it was "very fair" since my complaint was "well outside" the return window.
So, here's my advice to you: if you're gonna spend a lot of money on furniture, don't go to Dot & Bo. You're better off going to Room and Board, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Target, or even your local used furniture store. Every time I look at that chair, I just see my wasted money. I could have done so much with that $1k, you know? I could have donated it to Oxfam or my local high poverty school where I work. But no, I spent it on a chair that fell apart after two months. Dot & Bo has some cute products, but they're a big disappointment.
Dot & Bo Review: Beautiful Website, High Prices, Terrible Customer Service, Misleading Product Descriptions, and Long Delivery Times
This website, Dot & Bo, caught my eye with their beautiful website and email marketing. I was drawn in by their trendy and desirable product offerings for both home and office. However, their pricing is quite high, but their attractive ads make you feel like you just have to have their products. I have had two experiences with Dot & Bo, and the first one was pretty ordinary. I ordered two items, but one was on backorder, so I cancelled it. Their website is a bit difficult to navigate when it comes to account info and editing orders. It was also hard to contact customer service, as there was no phone number or email address readily available. It took days to get a response. However, cancelling the item was drama-free. When I received the other item, I actually received a duplicate a few weeks later. I returned it, and they paid for the return shipping.
This experience made me think that Dot & Bo wasn't so bad to work with, so I considered them for some expensive office furniture for the president of my company's executive office. A local architect also recommended this company's furniture, so I decided to purchase $3,200 worth of furniture (credenza and bookshelf). That was over two months ago, and there's still no sign of delivery. When I ordered the furniture, I was given a tentative ETA, which was about four weeks ago. When I contacted Dot & Bo about the late delivery, they had no explanation except that the freight shipping company they use has confirmed it's 'en route' and there may have been delays. They couldn't give me a location or ETA. I also haven't received any updates on any of the tracking of this package via email - I have had to log in to find them myself as Dot&Bo knows nothing. I tracked the packages myself online, and those details too are so obscure, I am beginning to believe the furniture isn't really en route at all. I live in Utah, and the tracking shows it was in Virginia six weeks ago. Even the slowest of boats, trains, trucks, or bicycles would've had that furniture to our office by now. The most insulting part about this entire flubbed order is that I paid $480 for shipping and a mandatory $200 for 'white glove service,' which apparently means the delivery guys will unwrap the boxes and assemble the furniture themselves. I'm having serious doubts they'll actually be wearing white gloves. Every time I have contacted customer service for more info, they tell me they know nothing and that I'll need to just wait it out. It is Dot&Bo's responsibility as the seller to provide their customers with accurate info about the product that was purchased. I am starting to feel robbed and pretty stupid for making such a large purchase online, especially for the president of our company, who is starting to get more than upset that it's taken eight weeks to see some furniture in his office. I hope Dot&Bo delivers soon. In the meantime, I would HIGHLY recommend NOT spending your money on their furniture. I am finding it hard to believe it'll all be worth the wait. Other reviews have stated they aren't really sure this company really has the product they are selling online. I would second that opinion. My guess is this furniture really isn't in their possession when it's offered for sale online. Why else would it take this long? I think I am currently waiting for some little kids in a third-world country to assemble the parts to my order, as soon as the trees are mature enough to be chopped down and processed into wood planks to be made into expensive furniture.
*** UPDATE! SHIPMENT FINALLY ARRIVED! (10 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE DATE)
On 5/6/16, my order of a bookshelf and credenza FINALLY arrived (was ordered in Feb.). The Williamsburg Sideboard and the Soren Bookcase arrived and were removed from the delivery truck with care. The three gentlemen that unloaded the items carefully removed them and wheeled them through our company's lobby for my inspection upon arrival before taking them to our executive's suite. The Soren bookcase was loaded into the elevator carefully and unwrapped from its packing blanket and plastic wrap once it was wheeled into the office-space. At that time, the three deliverymen, myself, and a coworker noticed the bottom facing shelf of the bookshelf had a deep horizontal gash cut through the wood. It looked as if a packing knife had been slid across the entire facing and gouged the wood deeply. This damage did not take place at the time of delivery, as the men who unwrapped it did not use blades when unwrapping on site. The damage did not warrant delivery refusal, however, was very discouraging to discover as we had been waiting 10 long weeks for this delivery.
The bigger problem we experienced with this delivery was that of the Williamsburg Sideboard. That item arrived in physically fine condition, unfortunately in the incorrect finish resembling no likeness to what we ordered online. The coloring of the wood panels and drawers/doors looked NOTHING like the photos shown online. The description of the product does say 'reclaimed wood' but does not note EXTREME VARIANCES in colors/stains of the wood. The photo on the website clearly depicts very intentional colorations of the four drawers - each drawer facing is a dedicated color (orange, brown, light brown, and dark brown), same with the door panels and shelves, which is why we bought this piece as it matched the coloring of walls and accent furniture in the space. The top and side panels of the item online show a uniformly staining of the large panels with dark wood - there is no noticeable pattern of various wood grains. What we received was a very vibrant almost zebra-striping of the wood in a very intense contrasting horizontal wood pattern, not anything close to what is pictured on the website. This was very falsely represented online, and we were so very disappointed to have this delivered this way after waiting so very long to get it for the President of our company. Sadly, I had to refuse delivery. (photos attached). What a mess this entire order has been from start to finish. It took four customer service reps via email before I stumbled across a VERY HELPFUL customer service rep named Rachel. By the way, I only got her by calling the phone number for Dot&Bo, which was hard to find, and when I called, it just refers you to their website for help. However, if you go through the prompts during business hours, you can land on a line that someone does answer and eventually passes your call to a service rep. Be patient - this took me several attempts before I got a live person. Anyway, Rachel was a gem. She really cared about my issues and assured me this would be resolved. She asked that I email photos of the furniture and assured me a refund would take place for the sideboard, as well as a refund for the shipping. In addition, I was given a discount on the damaged bookcase I kept. The refunds were issued within a week of my conversation with Rachel, as promised. It was interesting to find out from an earlier rep that my furniture was taking so long to arrive because it was being assembled out of the country - overseas - and delivery is very hard to track when out of the country. However, my tracking number showed it sitting at a delivery center in Virginia for at least three weeks before sitting in Louisiana another two-plus weeks. Rachel told me the furniture was assembled in CANADA... not sure what the talk about it being shipped from overseas was all about... oy vey.
To summarize, I have never experienced such a horrible online buying experience. It's a shame because Dot&Bo does appear to offer some really nice items for homes/offices. However, I am now fully convinced they don't actually have any control of the items they sell, nor do they appear to have them in stock at the time of sale. This all seems very fishy to me. The product descriptions are misleading and dishonest to paying customers as well. It's no wonder there are so many horrible reviews about the company online and with the BBB. I hope they can get these procurement and shipping issues resolved soon for the sake of their company. But more so for the sake of their paying customers.

Dot & Bo Review: Delayed Shipping, Unreasonable Dates, and Disappointing Experience
I really wish I had checked out Dot & Bo before I placed my order. The one star reviews are totally on point. Shipping is delayed, and the expected shipping dates are totally unreasonable. But they sure are quick to take your money! This "new and upcoming" business profile is not living up to its hype.
I placed an order on November 15th, and I'm still waiting for my pillow to arrive. It's lost somewhere in space, apparently. The shipping status said it was supposed to arrive yesterday, but that didn't happen. And my other items still haven't shipped yet. They have "expected shipped dates" (which is just fancy talk for "we have no idea when it's actually going to arrive") of December 15th.
I came to Dot & Bo because I wanted unique items that I could actually purchase, not just browse and then get a refund. But now I'm regretting my decision.
Here's my advice to you:
1. Don't buy anything from Dot & Bo.
2. If you need something in a timely manner (and by timely, I mean months), don't even bother.
3. Don't buy anything from their clearance sale. They get too many orders and can't keep their promises about shipping times.
4. Look at their pictures for inspiration, but don't actually buy anything. It's kind of like Pinterest, but with the added frustration of not being able to actually purchase anything.
5. There are other services and companies out there that do it better. Avoid Dot & Bo's growing pains and go with someone else.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with my experience with Dot & Bo. I hope this review helps you avoid the same frustration that I went through.
Dot & Bo Bar Cart Review: Misleading Product, Great Customer Service
So, I decided to reach out to Dot & Bo's customer service. At first, I was a bit hesitant because I had heard some negative things about their customer service. But, to my surprise, they were actually really helpful. They offered me some discounts to make up for the inconvenience, but I had already lost interest in the product. So, they arranged for a pickup of the item.
Now, let's talk about the bar cart itself. As I mentioned earlier, it was delivered 3 weeks after the original delivery estimate. This was a bit frustrating, but I understand that delays can happen. However, when I finally received the package, I was disappointed to see that the cart was constructed completely differently than what was shown on the website. The materials used were of lesser quality and the design was obviously different. It was very clear that the cart I received was a copy of the original, and even the simplest design aspects were not honored.
To make matters worse, the bar cart was not even close to flush with the ground. I sent a picture to customer service with a pencil underneath the wheel, showing that it was about 1/2 an inch crooked. Each shelf was also crooked, which made it difficult to place items on them without them sliding off. And, to top it all off, the wheels in the picture were wood, but the ones they sent were possibly a poor quality wood, but felt more like plastic with a coating. In the picture, the wheels were light brown wood, but in reality, they were jet black. This just goes to show how misleading the picture was.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Dot & Bo. While their customer service was great, the product I received was not up to par. I would caution anyone looking to purchase from them to do their research and read reviews before making a purchase.
Unreliable and Untrustworthy: My Disappointing Experience with Dot & Bo
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Dot & Bo. I ordered a bunch of stuff way back on December 25th, and it's now January 28th and my order still hasn't shipped. According to my receipt, I was supposed to get my stuff tomorrow, but how can that happen if they haven't even shipped it yet? And to make matters worse, they charged my credit card in full on the day I placed the order. That's just not right.
So I called them up today and demanded a refund. They said they'd take care of it, but then I got an email tonight saying that my order had suddenly shipped and couldn't be refunded or canceled. What the heck? And to top it all off, some of the stuff I ordered wasn't even included in the shipment. Where is it?
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend doing business with this company. They're just not reliable. I'm never ordering from them again.
Update: So get this - they actually canceled one of the items in my order without even asking me if I still wanted it. I did want it, by the way - it was a gift. And it's not like they ran out of stock or anything, because they still have it available. They just decided to cancel it from my order without even consulting me. And I've been waiting for this stuff for a month now! Not cool, Dot & Bo.
Update #2: They finally got back to me, but they're saying that I canceled the item myself. That's just not true. And they're saying that they shipped the rest of my order and it's supposed to arrive on February 2nd, but the item they canceled was one of the things that was supposed to be in that shipment. So my review still stands - this company is not to be trusted.

Disappointing Shipping and Customer Service Experience with Dot & Bo
I recently purchased a product from Dot & Bo (or Open Sky, depending on where you look) and while I am happy with the product itself, I had a bit of trouble with shipping and customer service. When I placed my order, the website stated that it would take 15+ days for the product to arrive. Since I am in the process of moving, I entered my new address, assuming that the product would arrive at the new location within the specified time-frame. However, to my surprise, the product was scheduled to arrive within 3 days of my order.
I quickly realized that I needed to change the shipping address, but unfortunately, it was not as simple as I thought it would be. Since the product comes from a seller, FedEx requires that the seller update the address. I thought this would be an easy fix, so I tried to call Dot & Bo to have the address changed. However, I was disappointed to find out that they do not have a phone number, and the only way to contact them is through email.
I sent an email explaining my situation and was informed that I would receive a response within 1-2 days. This was not ideal for me since I needed the issue resolved quickly. After a few days of waiting, I finally received a response, but it was not very helpful. I was told that they were unable to change the shipping address and that I would need to contact the seller directly.
At this point, I was frustrated and worried that I would not receive my product. However, I was able to pick up one of my items at a FedEx location, thanks to their holding service. Unfortunately, my other package was delivered to the new address, and no one was able to help me locate it. I reached out to Dot & Bo, FedEx, and USPS, but none of them were able to provide me with any information.
Overall, I am disappointed with the shipping and customer service experience I had with Dot & Bo. Changing a shipping address should not be this difficult, especially when I started the process over a week ago. While I am happy with the product I received, I am hesitant to order from Dot & Bo again in the future.
Dot and Bo Review: Disappointing Delivery and Customer Service
I bought a pillow from Dot and Bo back in May, and I was excited to receive it. They told me that they would send me a message with the tracking number when it was shipped, but I never received anything. By July, I was getting worried, so I contacted their customer service team to ask about the delivery date. They were quick to respond and gave me a new date, but when that date passed, I contacted them again. This time, they told me that the delivery would be in September.
I decided to check the Dot and Bo website to see if there was any information about my order. To my surprise, I saw that the pillow I had ordered was now being advertised for $10 less than what I had paid for it. Plus, the estimated delivery date was earlier than the one I had been given for my order. I was frustrated, so I contacted customer service again. They offered me a $15 credit for a future order, but I was so unhappy with the service that I asked for a refund instead.
I didn't hear back from them for a while, but eventually, I saw that the credit had been added to my account. I kept checking on the delivery status of my pillow, but the ship date kept getting pushed back. Finally, it was scheduled for December, which was six months after I had placed my order. I decided that enough was enough, and I asked for a refund.
To their credit, Dot and Bo responded quickly and told me that I would receive a full refund within 10 days. I'm still waiting for the refund to come through, but I'm hopeful that it will happen soon. It's frustrating to have to wait so long for a product that was advertised as being in stock, and it's disappointing that Dot and Bo didn't offer me a refund sooner. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone looking for reliable and timely delivery.
Terrible Experience with Dot & Bo (Opensky) - Poor Customer Service and Shipping Delays
I've been getting emails from Dot & Bo for a couple of years now, and I finally decided to give them a try. What a terrible mistake! I placed an order on December 9th, 2017. This is when I learned that Dot & Bo was really Opensky. One would think that an in-stock item ordered on 12/9 would be a no-brainer for Christmas ("ships in one day, usually arrives four days later"). On 12/12, I received a notification that the shipping label had been created. What, exactly, is the benefit of this? I was starting to get worried that my order wouldn't arrive in time for Christmas.
In the early evening on 12/16, I wrote their "Customer Love" department asking for a refund, as the item hadn't yet shipped and they ignored my previous emails. At 12:20 A.M. on Monday, the 18th, I received a notice that the item had shipped and should arrive on 12/26 or later. The "Customer Love" representative wrote me during the day on the 18th telling me that since the item had been shipped, there was nothing they could do. I was frustrated that they didn't respond to my previous emails and that they couldn't do anything to help me now that the item had shipped.
I have emailed them asking for them to contact the post office and change the shipping to an expedited method (yes, this can be done by the shipper). It is now the 21st, and all of my emails are being ignored. I'm starting to feel like I've been scammed. I wish I had read the reviews before placing my order. I am only being ripped off for about $35.00, but I feel sorry for the person who places an order for a couple of hundred dollars. It's frustrating that Dot & Bo doesn't seem to care about their customers and their orders. I won't be ordering from them again.
Dot & Bo Review: Poor Customer Service and Communication
I recently made a purchase on Dot & Bo's website for two living room chairs on May 19, 2016. I was excited to receive my order and was willing to pay an extra $100 for their white glove service. However, I was disappointed when I did not receive any communication from the service company even after weeks had passed.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and called the shipping company on June 30th. They informed me that the chairs were in the Scottsdale warehouse, but they were unable to deliver them as one of the chairs was missing a button. I was frustrated that Dot & Bo had not responded to the shipping company's inquiries about what to do with the damaged product.
To make matters worse, I discovered that Dot & Bo did not have a telephone number listed on their website. I had to resort to emailing them to find out how they planned to resolve the issue. I had already paid for the chairs in May, and it was now July, and I still did not have them.
Their response was not satisfactory. They informed me that they were working on getting a button from China, which could take months. I suggested that they deliver the chairs and pay for someone to repair the button at my home when it arrived. However, they refused, stating that the button did not need to be repaired at the warehouse, and I would have to wait.
They did offer me two options. The first was to deliver the chairs and reduce the price by $200 plus a $100 delivery charge. The second was that they may eventually send a button, but they would not send someone out to repair it. I was not happy with either option and requested a refund, but I have yet to receive a response.
In my opinion, Dot & Bo has very poor customer service, and I would not recommend them to anyone. It is essential to warn the public that this is not a reputable business.
Unprofessional and Customer-Unfriendly: My Experience with Dot & Bo
So, I had a pretty bad experience with Dot & Bo. Let me tell you, it was a real headache. I ordered a console for a whopping $2112, but less than 24 hours later, I had to cancel the order. I mean, things happen, right? But what followed was a whole lot of frustration.
I spent 10 days emailing back and forth with Dot & Bo, trying to get my order canceled and refunded. Finally, they canceled the order and gave me a refund. But here's the kicker: since the order was apparently already "processed" when I canceled it, I had to pay for the SHIPPING, and not just once, but TWICE! That's over $600!
I was pretty upset about this, so I asked my bank when Dot & Bo had actually placed the order and taken my money. It turns out, it was three days after I had canceled the order. So, basically, they were just dragging their feet and making me pay for their mistake.
Honestly, Dot & Bo's customer service was really unprofessional and not at all customer-oriented. It took them less than 24 hours to "process" my order (although there's no proof of that), but over a week to cancel it. In this day and age, with all the technology we have, that's just ridiculous.
So, Dot & Bo, if you're reading this, get your act together. Don't mess around with your customers and make them pay for your mistakes. I'm not going to shell out over $600 for shipping on an order that I canceled in plenty of time.
And I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with Dot & Bo. I read through some of the other reviews on their site (which, by the way, are mostly negative), and it turns out that this exact same situation has happened to other customers. When one customer complained, Dot & Bo said they would improve their service. But it doesn't seem like anything has changed since then.
So, if you're thinking about ordering from Dot & Bo, I'd say proceed with caution. You might end up with a headache like I did.
Disappointing Delivery Experience with Dot & Bo: A Frustrating Christmas Shopping Story
I ordered a bunch of stuff from Dot & Bo on November 15th, 2015. I was really excited because most of the items were supposed to be Christmas gifts. The confirmation email said that I would get the items in early to mid-December, which was perfect. But as the days went by, I started to get worried. I checked the status of my order online and noticed that the delivery dates kept changing. Sometimes there was no estimated date at all, which was really weird.
I decided to contact the company to see what was going on. I wanted to resolve whatever was holding up the delivery. But as time passed, I still hadn't received my items. I asked the company to send me the rest of the order, since they were presents. They said they would look into it and get back to me, but they never did. Christmas came and went, and I still hadn't received anything.
Then I got an email saying that I had gotten a credit from the company for a cancellation. I was confused because I hadn't cancelled anything. Then I got another email saying that one of the items had been cancelled because it had been put in the system with the wrong price. I was really frustrated at this point.
I checked the status of my order again just now, and I still haven't received anything. The delivery dates are blank again, and the status says that the items haven't been shipped yet. This has been the worst online ordering experience I've ever had. I'm really disappointed, and I don't think I'll ever order from Dot & Bo again.
The people I spoke with were nice, so I'm giving them 2 stars. But overall, this has been a really frustrating experience. I hope they can improve their delivery process in the future.
Dot & Bo Review: Terrible Business, Unreliable Delivery, and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, Dot & Bo's marketing is really something else. At first, I thought it was all a big scam! But nope, turns out it's just a really bad business. They can't seem to handle the amount of business they're getting from their marketing, which is a real shame. I ordered a set of 4 hooks that were supposed to be whimsical and fun, and they said it would take a month to arrive. Well, 5 weeks later, I still hadn't received anything. So I sent an email to customer service, and they responded saying they were "a bit backed up" with the hooks I ordered. They also asked me to "forgive this unusual circumstance." I mean, come on! A set of hooks shouldn't take longer than a month to deliver, right?
So I replied back and told them I wasn't happy with the situation. I wanted my hooks, and I wanted them now! But they just kept telling me it was an "unusual circumstance" and that it would take another month for them to come in. I explained that I needed them for a special occasion, but they didn't seem to care. They just kept apologizing and asking me how I wanted to proceed with my order. It was like they were trying to get me to cancel my order or something!
But I wasn't going to let them off the hook that easily. I refused to cancel my order and told them to proceed with it as soon as possible. And you know what they said? "Great! I'm glad to hear it. I will keep your order in process." Can you believe that? They were acting like they were doing me a favor or something!
And to top it all off, they had already charged me for the hooks, even though they hadn't even shipped yet. What a terrible business! I would definitely recommend staying away from Dot & Bo. They just can't seem to handle the volume of purchases they're getting, and they're not willing to do anything about it. So save yourself the trouble and shop somewhere else!
trying to return 2 chairs

Dot and Bo have sent me three United States Post Office labels to return, Hauled the box to the post office and they will not ship, the box is too big.
Tried UPS yesterday and the cost of shipping is outrageous at $380 the chairs cost me $355.
I need to get these chairs returned and my money back. I need your help accomplishing this and not by sending me another Post office label.
I looked up trying to find a person to connect with, impossible.
Desired outcome: To be able to return the chairs, I need a refund on my American Express. My money is very tight and I never imagined when I ordered these chairs that I would have so much difficulty returning them. I appreciate your help.
Hello Laura Doerfler,
I am sorry for the trouble you are having with this return. The problem on our end, is that our system generates USPS labels for items based on size and weight data we have for them. According to the USPS website, they should take all packages that are under 70lbs and the total height + length + width are under 130 inches. They should have taken this return. It can take us up to 2 business days to respond to messages. You messaged us late Friday afternoon and we are working with our warehouse to get you a FedEx label. You have not given us a chance to inform you of this. You should get that message today and it can take a couple extra days to get those alternate label because it's a bit out of the ordinary for us. We appreciate your patience in this matter.
All the best,
Kevin M

Copyright infringement
Two days ago I discovered that the Dot & Bo company online is using 19 of my original designs (that they stole from either Zazzle or Deviant Art, or Pixels.com) on their shower curtains and tote bags. I have sent them several emails with the deadline of today to remove my designs frim their products, but they do not respond. I see from the many other...

bath mat
I purchased a bath mat that was listed at regularly being priced at $60.00 and was supposed to be luxurious and thick. The picture makes it look like a large thick heavy mat...It turned out to be a small very light (barely 1 lb) if that...piece of junk and I paid $20 for it. To return it I have to pay $9.00...I will never purchase anything from them again. They are scammers...
hexagonal shape wooden end table with marble top, pack of two, white and gray
I ordered these tables for my clients. They are barely using the room since we are waiting for all new furniture, and they have been out of town for a week. The tables already has a ton of scratches on them. As an Interior Designer it is very bad business for me to recommend tables such as these that extremely poorly made and have already scratched this much with minimal use.
I would like to return these products asap!
I'm very concerned about your business since there is no contact number in order for me to discuss this problem

Aude white modern chairs
Dear Sirs: We purchased six Aude White Modern Chairs a few months ago. One of the six chairs has a problem. The chair between the back rest and the flat part of the chair appears to have failed and doesn't support sitting in it without giving way and bending back. It should be replaced or at least the seat part of the chair.
Thank you,
Charles Greenberg,

1. What is the status of my order? According to the data on your website, it should have been delivered 2 weeks ago.
2. I have tried several times to register on your website and it consistently logs me off without verifying a new account.
3. Why is there no Customer Telephone number on your website?
Please respond to email [protected]@yahoo.com this week.
spam
how come I subscribed to their endless emails?
My inbox is overwhelmed by their spam.
I tried to cancel the subscription a million times, but it never worked.
I bought just once from them and now they think they have me and have the right to bombard me with their stupid email. Customer service doesn't work. Impossible to cancel the subscription.
It's a messy terrible store and please, stay away from them. Don't buy anything from them or give them an email you care nothing about.
don't waste your time and money
hahah I was so naive ordering from them. Found items I really liked and couldn't wait to get them. So I bought 6 items for a good price and only after the payment and confirmation they mentioned that the delivery will take about 1, 5-2 months... However, I had time and agreed with that. Unfortunately, I got only 2 items out o 6 and never used them because of a terrible quality. Speaking of the others, they were promised to be gotten within one or two weeks, but they never arrived. Probably they will never arrive. So all I want now is a refund, but I know that it would be hard.
