My complaint is one of transparency and unable to complete my due diligence before, during or after a commissioned " time share " style presentation. They even state at the beginning of presentation " this is Not a timeshare presentation "
That part is true. It's a Vacation Club reservation membership. Yet the prices posted as examples on their website range in the $700 to $900 range without type of room or length of time.
At the beginning of the meeting the presenter asked those in attendance to put away our phones. Several of us who now are seeing the name of the company attempted to read reviews on this presentation before we got to deep into it.
After three requests by others doing the same. I was singled out. The presenter asked my what was so important on my phone. I said I was reading up on the company's reviews. Which I told the presenter that was impending my ability to do my due diligence.
The presenter either is instructed to not allow attendees to do due diligence or took it upon himself to enforce his request that was controlling and unwelcoming.
I was told that I could not be on my phone not talking but reading reviews that I had to stop or leave. I choose to leave but my wife remained with my car keys.
Had the presenter not infringed on my right to compare reviews I could have stayed and possibly be swayed as there was only one negative review since September 2023 with a new BBB account under a 2nd company name from the same owners since 2018.
When the company was incorporated.
I did not disturb anyone and left quietly after stating when asked that their were review concerns. Which the presenter could have over come.
I hope this gives some insight into the experience. Yet due to the secrecy of the non transparency by omitted the name of the company, I was left with a negative impression.
We are advide crusers and there was no harm to my learning about the company I was being asked to engage.
