I can't speak highly enough of Jim at DVCheck
I can't speak highly enough of Jim at DVCheck. I was initially offered an unacceptable amount for diminished value when my wife's Honda Odyssey was hit by another individual. Knowing it was unfair, I tried to work with the other party's insurance company myself and really got nowhere for over a year. Then at the end of Feb. 2020, I hired DVCheck and Jim walked me through every step of the process and advised me on all available options. The amount of money I paid Jim for his service was one of the best investments I have ever made in my life. Jim not only gave me all the information I needed for my interactions with the insurance company, but he then jumped in the ring and defended my claim with a 3rd party appraiser that was hired by the insurance company. In the end, even after paying Jim's very reasonable fee, I netted more than 10x what the insurance company offered me previously. Thanks Jim and DVCheck - I'm very pleased with the value, professionalism, timeliness, and results of your service.
Jim at DVCheck is an absolute professional
Jim at DVCheck is an absolute professional. I would, and already have, recommend him to a friend. I was in a wreck, (not my fault) and tried to deal with the other party's insurance. After almost 2 months, I had to file a subrogation claim with my insurance. (Side note to anyone reading this: Do this first thing. It is a waste of time trying to work with the other party's insurance company). When it came time to place a value on my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, even my insurance company got it wrong. I decided to use the appraisal clause in my insurance and searched for a licensed appraiser in my state. Upon contacting Jim and having a conversation with him and how it conducts business, I knew I made the right choice. His appraisal came in at $3800 more than my insurance company had offered. However, their appraiser came in at $3200 more, so they split the difference and awarded me $3500 more than the original offer. I am very pleased with the outcome. While I hope to never have to be in another wreck, i will most certainly use Jim and DVCheck again.
Jim was an expert and helped us negotiate to get 4 x the amount the insurance wanted to give us when a tractor trailer rear ended my brand new tahoe!
The moment I spoke with Jim, he explained the entire process as I was extremely upset how the insurance kept ignoring me. I knew once I spoke to him, he was a man of his word. I payed the fee to have him help me, and he did not disappoint! He was there for every question and frustrating moment. He got the amount he said he would. This man knows his stuff!
I could not be more satisfied. I was amazed at the short response time and the thoroughness of the investigation. If ever I or anyone I know, needs this type of assistance I will be sure to recommend DVCHeck, LLC. Joe Hart
DVCheck provided not only the detailed assessment of the diminished value for my truck, he was respectful, proficient and amazing. The cited person responsible for the accident, had an insurance company that did not question or contest the completed report. I am receiving over $5,000 for the diminished value of my truck. Definitely worth the fee from DVCheck.
This is the BEST auto appraisal company
This is the BEST auto appraisal company. Detail oriented, responsive, and they always stay with you till the very end of the process. BEST! This is my story... I filed a diminished value claim two month ago. Insurance company gave me a huge list of requirements. I was actually thinking about quitting it, since I could not possibly answer all those questions (finding comp vehicles, running Carfax, estimating NADA...). Then I started looking for a professional appraisal company on Google and landed on DVCHECK website. I called them and described my situation. Jim followed the whole list of requirements just like insurance company wanted. Jim's appraisal was detailed and accurate...it was perfect. Insurance company tried to negotiate the payment by providing some counter arguments ... but Jim (the owner of DVCHECK) advised me till the very end ... literally he was telling me what to do, what to say ... He never quit on me. The process took about a month, and Jim was always on my side. At the end of the day we settled for $5,000. Very happy. Thank you, Jim, Thank you DVCHECK.
I found DVCheck online, and after reading the reviews, I decided to use their services. After uploading the required documents, I was provided a thorough appraisal for my vehicle. It took several months for the repairs to be completed, and Jim updated my appraisal as more damage was uncovered. I uploaded the appraisal to my insurance claim and waited. And waited some more. I really just gave up and mentally moved on. Jim contacted me three months later and asked if a settlement was received. When informed that it hadn't, he called the other appraiser. I received an email the next day that a settlement was negotiated, and I should be hearing something in the next fee weeks. In that short few days, Jim almost doubled my settlement. You go Jim! I received my settlement electronically a few days later. I am happy.
In short, use DVCheck.
I am a college student who invested all my savings into a BRAND-new car so that I would have reliable transportation. Only days after purchasing my vehicle, a man had hit my parked car in a nearly vacant parking lot with his Yukon, resulting in substantial damage, making my car unsafe to drive. I was devastated, as I had not even put my first tank of gas in my car. I am grateful that the driver took full responsibility and notified me of the accident, as I was not in the car when the accident occurred. However, after waiting over 5 months, his insurance company was refusing to pay me for loss of use and diminished value, which is rightly due, in accordance with South Carolina state law. The insurance company informed me that I have the burden of proof to prove this loss because I live in SC. I researched how to obtain such proof. Based on the spectacular reviews, the prestigious accreditations, and with over 20 years of experience, I chose DV Check. I cannot say enough good things about DV Check! Only after I was left with no other alternative, I had to file for an automobile insurance arbitration. I received an intimidating letter from the insurance companyÂ's attorney in response. DV Check helped me to navigate through these muddy waters. Based on DV CheckÂ's incredible degree of authority and coming to my rescue last minute when the insurance company's attorney tried to throw out my appraisal during the arbitration, I ended up being victorious! This is all due to DV CheckÂ's integrity, honesty, reliability, and the great amount of care put into the appraisal, along with the willingness, ability, and credibility to stand up and support the appraisal findings based on facts and law. I owed DV Check a world of THANKS, as I would not have been successful if I did not hire DV Check! I highly recommend DV Check. Simply put, DV Check is the BEST!
I was recently involved in a rear end collision and the insurance company paid me only $950 for the diminished value. Knowing the amount was unfair I started researching online on how to get fair diminished value for your car and that's how I came across DV Check. Jim was very helpful and guided me through the whole process from additional claims to negotiations. I got additional $3700 for diminished value check from the insurance company and the process was very quick. Jim made sure the insurance company responded to my requests on a timely, I would definitely recommend DV Check for diminished value claims.
Jim is the best most honest and knowledgeable person to deal with I was dealing with insurance company that tried to rip me off on a total loss on a 2008 911 Porsche Turbo and he got me additional $11,000. Plus he help me with other things I will definitely use them in the future heÂ's well educated and knows how to handle himself well.

I only learned about diminished value claims from a co-worker who heard about my auto accident and shortly afterwards, his son was in a similar type accident where he was hit from behind. My co-worker told me that his mechanic told him about filing a DV claim. After googling DV claims and calling the collision center where my car was repaired, I decided to file a claim and after seeing such great reviews, I decided to contact DV Check and file my claim The owner, Jim, was very knowledgeable and patiently answered my many questions. If he wasn't available by phone, he always returned my calls right away. Jim's advice and help was spot on. Long story short, I was able to receive a settlement that was much higher than what the insurance company initially offered. If you are in an accident and the other driver is 100% at fault, you owe it to yourself to at least visit DV Check and learn about diminished value claims. The insurance company will not tell you about it and it could be that your mechanic may not even tell you about it! I'm so glad someone told me about filing a diminished value claim.
Exactly what you need to deal with the insurance companies. With timely guided assistance, I was able to settle for 3 times the amount they first offered me. No hidden fees, exactly as described. Already recommended to friends for past accidents as they can still claim it!
I am glad I chose DVCHECK to help me with my diminished value claim. Jim just not only provided me the appraisal but also helped me through the negotiations, guided me how I can reply to claim adjuster. Dealing with Insurance is a nightmare, whenever i needed help Jim was there. I already referred him to friends who were in accident and can still file calim for diminished value, would totally recommend others.
Don't deal with trying to do yourself. Made the process very easy and quick
Great service! Jim is very professional! He helped me along the way and told me exactly what to do and expect at each stage. Used DVcheck twice, and was satisfied each time.
I was lucky to come across the DVCHECK website during the handling of a total loss on my ex-wifeÂ's vehicle
I was lucky to come across the DVCHECK website during the handling of a total loss on my ex-wifeÂ's vehicle. Yes, we are still close. Since she was hurt and does not understand the insurance language I offered to help. Having been an independent insurance agent for over 45 years IÂ've had a lot of experience with helping my clients try to get the best settlement possible. Her company relied on a computer program to develop the actual cash value and presented her with a number. Even with my experience & submitting comparable valuations on her vehicle to justify her car was worth much more, the company stood their ground and nothing I tried could get the company to move the needle. I made contact with DVCHECK primarily because of the professional designations their website indicated they had. Their fee is very reasonable and within a week following DVCHECK recommendations, DVCHECK had reached an agreed valuation with the companyÂ's assigned appraiser of a $1,000 more than I thought her vehicle was worth. Worth the money and saved myself a lot of grief by using DVCHECK. Bobby A. Retired Insurance agent.
Looking for a Best DV Report?
Looking for a Best DV Report? DON'T HESITATE! so, I know sometimes you run into websites that are just too good to be true. That's the feeling I got after finding DV CHECK. So, when I approached the insurance company who was the company at fault not me, I asked them about diminished value. They offered me $200. I rejected the offer and asked is that all you guys can do they said, welll blah blah blah, came up with all these excuses right so then they said well what amount do you want, I told them they said no I said so why would yall ask, So long story short, They told me that I would have to get an appraisal of my own completed and submitted to them. I instantly begin searching for a company and came across DV Check. I was extremely nervous cause if you're anything like me you don't like to waste money. well after reading the reviews i thought let me just give it a shot and i did. When I tell you the Best decision EVER. I could have never done it without them. I got 5 times more what the original offer was they gave me. I did everything they told me and came out on top Thank you Thank you DV Check.
I was apprehensive on spending the $300 initially
I was apprehensive on spending the $300 initially. However after speaking with Jim, he assured me that I would have a substantial claim and would get my $300 back easily. He explained that we will stay with me throughout the process through it's entirety and explained that insurance company will indeed come back with a lower offer and do no accept it if it has a difference of $2000 (which it indeed did. I had over $30,000 in damage to my $78,000 new truck. The DV appraisal from DVCHECK came back at a whopping $19,000 which was submitted to the insurance company via the preformatted letter provided by DVCHECK. the insurance offer was $6800 which i respectfully declined. In the end, the other insured had to hire their own appraiser who worked with Jim and finally settled on a DV of a little under $15K! While, yes, a lot of the work Jim did I could have performed, but it indeed helps your case with his "stamp of professionalism and credentials on your claim. Well worth the $300 spent and Jim did exactly what he said he was going to do, which nowadays most company's do not. Great job Jim, keep up the great work and thank you for following through.
Jim was very helpful and took the time to fully explain the process and answer all the questions I had
Jim was very helpful and took the time to fully explain the process and answer all the questions I had. The insurance company was leaving out so many details in the discussions I had with them, so Jim helped me figure out what the real requirements were and what that insurance companies had to abide by.
I knew that the insurance company was low balling the Actual Cash Value of my vehicle. What made things worse was that there were few cars on the market with such low mileage, so I attempted to writeup my own appraisal of the vehicle and sent it to them. They completely threw out the information I put together and disregarded all the market data that was out there. The most I could get them to improve the price was $700 which I felt was still $2000 too low.
As a 3rd party, DVCheck was able to quickly put together their own appraisal and I submitted it to Geico and invoked the appraisal clause. Jim was able to negotiate an additional $1500 of value on top of what I got, which put the price of the care more in line with what I expected. The appraisal process was well worth the cost and it was reassuring to have Jim's guidance
to walk me through the whole process.
This was the best $300 I'd spent
This was the best $300 I'd spent. If I had tried to pursue the diminished value claim myself, I would have only asked for half of what my final payout settlement was and likely got much less. Jim is a professional through and through. I was initially skeptical, so I paid via a prepaid debit card instead of my regular CC on a Friday and on Sunday, he sent me a detailed appraisal report with a sample demand letter (email) of what to submit to the at-fault insurer. The insurance company got back to me a couple of weeks later with a counter offer less than half of what the initial demand was, supported by their own appraisal. Jim then guided me through the next steps which required some legwork of my own - it took about half a day and increased my final settlement by approx $3K. I read some reviews complaining about this step and YMMV so it's up to you whether it's worth going through this step or not - for me, it was. He then compiled the info I had gathered and put together a second demand letter with even more information to support the subsequent demand amount - which the insurer agreed to settle for. Extremely pleased with the final result and I don't usually take the time to do reviews but am doing so in this instance.
I took delivery of my 2022 Lexus ES300h on 11/12 and it was hit by a negligent driver two weeks later
I took delivery of my 2022 Lexus ES300h on 11/12 and it was hit by a negligent driver two weeks later. There was $18K+ damage which was repaired. DVCHECKÂ's appraisal came in at $10,895 in diminished value. The insurance companyÂ's appraiser came in at $8,000 diminished value. They reached common ground and split the difference to settle on $9,448 diminished value which the insurance company paid. The North Carolina General Statues address auto diminished value in a way that at least puts the claimant on a more equal footing with the insurance company. The diminished value process with the insurer is really a dance. Generally, the insurance company will lowball a proposed settlement and when needed will purportedly use an independent 3rd party appraiser. In reality their appraiser is not independent. The appraiser relies upon the insurers for a continuing source of revenue, thus incentive to come in with a low DV appraisal. As a claimant, using a licensed auto appraiser such as DVCHECK, at least in NC helps one navigate the dance with the company. DVCHECK was always responsive to any question I asked, and the fee paid to DVCHECK at least netted me more $$$ in the final settlement than the insurer would have paid without DVCHECK.
I am so glad that I hired Jim at DV Check to conduct a 'diminished value' appraisal for my vehicle
I am so glad that I hired Jim at DV Check to conduct a 'diminished value' appraisal for my vehicle. The Insurance Company for the individual who struck my vehicle only offered $850 to settle my claim. Jim's appraisal demonstrated that the lost value was much greater than that - based on a market assessment of comparable vehicles (with and without damage), and his knowledge of the industry (.i.e.; in addition to the comp analysis, Jim estimated the lost value associated with the structural damage notation in the Carfax.) Once I attempted to negotiate a higher settlement, the Insurance Company hired their own assessor to conduct an appraisal, which came in only a few hundred dollars higher than their original offer. Throughout this process, Jim made himself readily available to review the feedback from the Insurance Company, participate on a 3-way call, and provide me with coaching and talking points for my negotiating position. It took about 3 weeks of back and forth negotiations, but thanks to Jim I ended up with a $3,700 settlement - almost five times the original offer. I would recommend Jim and DV Check to anyone who is seeking to negotiate a diminished value claim. Thank you Jim, for your professional, knowledgable, and responsive service.
My car was rear-ended 2 weeks after purchase
My car was rear-ended 2 weeks after purchase. My insurance company recommended to me that we ask for the diminished value of the vehicle but also said they do not handle those claims. The other driver's insurance company gave us no guidance on what was required either, but through our own research we figured out we needed a DV appraiser. We were completely new to this process but found Jim to be reasonable and honest, so we engaged his services for a diminished value report. The report was professionally done and delivered in a timely manner. But the greatest value for this service came through the following months of support as the insurance company did everything they could to deny and stall. Jim was always responsive and willing to talk through the current state of things and gave us the encouragement we needed to stick with this. We followed his advice, and thank god for that. He prepared us for what we finally had to do, which was to pursue this in small claims court against the other driver (whose insurance company would pay the ultimate judgment). Due to the pandemic this dragged on for longer than it would normally because courts were closed. But when the hearing did happen, we won the full amount! I can honestly say I may have quit on this had it not been for all the help Jim provided along the way, reminding us that this is a legitimate claim that insurance companies should be responsible for, and have too long gotten away with not paying simply because most drivers don't even know about diminished value. It is a shame because this is something the not at fault drivers will lose out on in the long run when their car sells for less due to an accident. Hire Jim, it is ABSOLUTELY worth it.
Honest, respectful, and true to his word!
Honest, respectful, and true to his word! I was involved in a minor accident and the at fault driver damaged my vehicle to the tune of about 6 K. Someone suggested that I request diminished value because my vehicle was only 6 months old. I ran a search and came across this company, so I completed the contact form and received a very timely response from Jim. I followed the very easy steps he provided and after speaking with him, felt that the very reasonable expense would be well worth it. Jim was very respectful and patient with my many questions and didnÂ't even know I had recently lost my husband and was trying my best to navigate this situation all on my own. After we hung up, I knew I picked the right company to work with! I received the report within a day or so of when Jim said I could expect it and turned it in to the at fault driverÂ's insurance company. This is when the process hit a wall. I didnÂ't hear back from the insurance company, so I referred to JimÂ's initial email and followed his instructions to forward the email request to the insurance company again on a weekly basis. After a couple of months with still no response, I reached out to Jim to find out if I had any other options. He gave me the email address for the CO insurance regulatory group and some guidance on what information to provide them. Within a week, I had an offer from the insurance company and using JimÂ's suggestions, was able to double their offer and ultimately accepted an offer within a couple hundred dollars of JimÂ's estimate! I am SO pleased with this company and with the level of professionalism and follow through. So many companies tend to forget you once the payment has cleared, but not Jim! So yourself a favor and use DV Check to help get you the money you are eligible for! CVReed

I was rear ended about a month ago and my car received a considerable amount of damage
I was rear ended about a month ago and my car received a considerable amount of damage. The person I was dealing with at the body shop mentioned that I should check into diminished value. I had no idea what this was but when I was talking to the claims adjuster at the insurance company, they said we'll talk about this at the end of the process. After I received my car back and was in the settling stage of the claim, I mentioned diminished value once again. I was told that I needed to have the dealership put in writing what the value of my vehicle was prior to the accident and what the current value was. I called the dealership where I purchased my vehicle but they said they don't do that but gave me DVCHECK's phone number. I called him and he explained the process to me. After I sent him a copy of the invoice from the body shop and a copy of the original purchase sticker, he called me and gave an estimate of how much I should ask for. He said he would prepare the report, email it to me and then I would email it to the claims adjuster. I received another email from him stating that I should have everything in 3-4 business days. I received his report in 3 business days along with a letter that I needed to send to the claims adjuster. He also included a timeline of the process and how to proceed if there was not a timely response from them. His report was very detailed. I sent an email to the claims adjuster using his letter as the email and included the DV report. In just a few days the claims adjuster called me to say that they had received the report and was processing the check in the amount that was requested. Getting connected to DVCHECK was the best thing I could have done! I have given his name and number to the body shop where my vehicle was repaired, my insurance agent, and have told many people that if they are ever in an accident and it is not their fault, they better call him! He clearly made the process easy and very rewarding. I can not thank him enough for what he did for me.

My 2020 Volvo had 3,153 Miles on it and was leagally Parked when it was hit.
Fortunately no one was injured. Although my first instinct was to go through
the at fault drivers insurance company, the driver was not the owner of the
vehicle and the actual owners policy was not enough to cover even a rental.
Good thing I had Collision and rental however even though the other insurance
company accepted full responsibility, My insurance companies settlement offer
was INSULTING to say the least. After some due diligence, the first
company I contacted never bothered to respond. My wife found DVCHECK
and suggest I give a call. I went on the website, followed the instructions for
Submitting the necessary documents and within 24hrs Jim contacted me.
After going over my Total Loss Documents, Jim took the time to explain to me
what "Diminished Value" is, what an "Appraisal Clause" is, How to Properly "Invoke" it!
And what to expect. I followed Jim's Instructions to the letter! 1st. the insurance companies
response was an incrementally higher settlement offer which Jim told me to anticipate and
after expressing my dissatisfaction with the"Offer" this is when I "Invoked "The "Appraisal Clause"
as Jim instructed. Now, Jim could step in and legally represent me as my appraiser.
Prior to considering hiring an outside entity to represent me, I imagined I could just write a letter to
my insurance company and inform them Why I Felt Their Initial offer was too Low for My New 2020
Volvo. It was effort better expended searching for a company Like Jim and his Team at DVCheck.
Jim, you and your Team at DVCheck are the original Smooth Operators! Now my wife and I

Jim was great to work with! He explained the entire process and represented our interests very well in negotiations with the insurance companyÂ's adjuster. I will recommend Jim to anyone with a diminished value claim.
Jim was great to work with and went above and beyond my expectations. I bought an appraisal for my diminished value claim. He recommended that I file a small claims lawsuit which I did. We spoke as I was preparing and he provided me with insights of how the trial would go which were spot on. When we got off the phone he had found some additional information that really helped as well and he sent it along to me. I won $10,000 for my $95K 2022 Mercedes. I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the appraisal and all the follow up time and effort. This guy knows his stuff inside and out! Thank you!
Jim was professional and very easy to work with. His team handled everything and had my insurance company pay the true value of my totaled car. I am glad I found them. Thank you for your outstanding service.
Jim was super helpful in helping me to understand the process and answered quickly all of my questions. Without his appraisal, the insurance company's offer was significantly lower than with it! Just referred DVCheck to a coworker!
