Poor Customer Service and Negligent Packaging for International Shipping at East Bristol Auctions
This auction house, East Bristol Auctions, is not the best when it comes to customer service. They don't really seem to care much about packaging for international shipping. It's honestly quite terrible. They don't take any responsibility for any damage that might occur during the shipping process.
I mean, seriously, I wouldn't even trust them to send a simple letter without it getting all messed up. They really need someone to let them know that just one layer of bubble wrap and one layer of cardboard over a fancy gold frame is not enough for international shipping. They claim to offer this service, but they clearly don't put in the effort to do it properly.
Impressive Results and Expert Auction Style at East Bristol Auctions
I gotta say, East Bristol Auctions is really somethin' else. I left a review back in February, and let me tell ya, the results have been off the charts. I had this item I wanted to sell, so I set a reserve price of ?500. But guess what? Aiden, the auctioneer, he went ahead and set the reserve at ?800. And you know what happened? It sold for a whopping ?1600! Can you believe it?
Now, let me tell ya about their auction style. They do it the European way, you know, like a veiling auction. And if things don't sell right then and there, they take it online for timed bids over a span of 10 days. And let me tell ya, most of the stuff sells like hotcakes. They really know what they're doin'!
Now, I gotta make it clear that I ain't got no association with this auction room. I just know 'em 'cause I've sold some stuff through 'em. And let me tell ya, I've been more than impressed with East Bristol Auctions. They really know how to get the job done.
So, if you're lookin' to sell some stuff and get some top-notch results, I highly recommend East Bristol Auctions. They're the real deal, my friend.

Fantastic Experience Selling Star Wars Collectibles with East Bristol Auctions
I wanna give a big shoutout to East Bristol Auctions for how they dealt with sellin' our Star Wars figures and toys. The whole crew was super friendly and helpful, especially Andy and Aiden. I even got to watch some of the auction online, which was pretty cool.
From the get-go, they were on top of things. They came to our house to pick up the collection, gave it a proper valuation, and then went ahead with the auction. And let me tell ya, everything went smooth as butter. The payment was promptly transferred into my account without a hitch.
I ain't gonna think twice 'bout recommendin' 'em to other folks. They really know their stuff and make the whole process a breeze. I'll definitely be comin' back with more goodies in the future.
Take care,
John Harrison
Disappointing Experience with East Bristol Auctions: Blocked Account and Lack of Communication
I had a heart attack and ended up in the hospital. Unfortunately, during that time, I missed the opportunity to pay for a knife that I had bid on at East Bristol Auctions. When I finally had the chance to check my phone, I was greeted with some not-so-nice emails. I quickly responded, apologizing for the delay and asking if I could still pay for the invoice, which was only about a week overdue. However, I received a disappointing response stating that I couldn't pay for it anymore.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to log into my saleroom account to see if there was anything I could do. To my surprise, I discovered that the auction had blocked me from accessing my account all because of a £20 knife. Determined to resolve the issue, I sent multiple emails to the company, kindly asking them to unblock me on saleroom. Unfortunately, my pleas were met with silence, and I never received a response.
Overall, my experience with East Bristol Auctions has been quite disappointing. I would advise others to stay away from this company.
Auction House Neglects Royal Mail Guidelines, Resulting in Broken Purchase & Poor Customer Service
The auction house at East Bristol Auctions makes it clear that items are sent at the buyer's risk, but they don't seem to take the time or care to follow the guidelines set by Royal Mail (as stated on the RM website) when posting items. As a result, our purchase arrived broken.
We understand that accidents can happen, but it's disappointing that the auction house claims they have done nothing wrong. It would be helpful if they could at least check and follow the guidelines.
Upon writing this review, we noticed that we are not the only ones who have experienced this issue. Our advice is simple: "Don't ask them to post" because they lack the expertise to do so properly.
No apologies were offered, and the customer service experience was really poor. It's frustrating to encounter such denial of fault without any effort to make things right.
Disappointing Customer Service and Lack of Accountability from East Bristol Auctions
I bought a lot from East Bristol Auctions and asked them to post it to me. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was broken. It was pretty obvious that the damage was caused by bad packing. Now, I understand that they can't insure ceramics, but I still wanted to let them know about the issue and maybe get an apology. However, the response I received was not what I expected. Take a look and decide for yourself.
So, I can see your emails - they were sent about 48 hours ago. Now, given the current situation, you gotta understand that our staff might be working in different environments, which could cause some delays. Considering all that, I don't think waiting 48 hours for an email response is that bad. But hey, if you wanna throw away all the years you've been buying from us just because of this, then go ahead. It would be a real shame though.
Oh, and by the way, all the ceramics and glassware we send out are completely uninsurable in the postal system. You can even see it on your invoice. Just thought you should know.
Regards,
Andrew
Buyer Beware: Misleading Description and Poor Customer Service at East Bristol Auctions
I recently made a purchase at one of the online auctions hosted by East Bristol Auctions. The item in question was listed as a Herman Miller studio 7.5 Mirra 2 chair. Now, let me tell you, this was not just any chair. It was one of four that were up for auction on the same date in June 2020. Exciting stuff, right?
Well, imagine my disappointment when I received the chair and discovered that the seat was ripped. Talk about bad luck! But that's not even the worst part. It turns out that the chair I received is not a Mirra 2 as described in the auction listing. No, no, it's actually a much older Mirra chair. Can you believe it?
I feel like I've been completely misled by the auction description. I mean, a Mirra chair is much older and far less desirable than a Mirra 2. It's like they pulled a fast one on me. And when I complained to East Bristol Auctions about the inaccurate description, do you know what they said? They said they can't be held responsible for wrong descriptions. Can you believe the nerve?
I am absolutely gutted. I spent a significant amount of money on this chair, expecting to receive a Mirra 2, and instead, I got an older model that is not as desirable. It's just not fair. And to make matters worse, East Bristol Auctions doesn't belong to any recognized auction body and they answer to no one. It's like they think they can do whatever they want without any consequences.
I must warn you, my fellow buyers, to exercise extreme caution if you're considering purchasing from East Bristol Auctions. They refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing and seem to have no regard for their customers' satisfaction. It's a real shame.
As for me, I'm not giving up. I'm currently in the process of contacting trading standards to report this issue. Unfortunately, they don't seem too bothered about it, but I won't let that deter me. I believe in standing up for what's right.
In the end, it's up to you to make your own decision. But please, take my experience into consideration. Don't let yourself be taken in by this outfit. They may seem like a good deal, but trust me, the potential disappointment is not worth it.
Disappointing Experience with East Bristol Auctions: Lack of Communication and Selling of Items Without Notice
I've been buying stuff from East Bristol Auctions for a good while now, like, 18 months or so. And let me tell you, it's always been a smooth ride. But man, oh man, did they drop the ball this time. I mean, seriously, it's like they don't even care about their customers.
So here's the deal, right? We won some pretty valuable items, worth over a grand, mind you. And we always made sure to collect our winnings before they started charging for storage. But guess what? East Bristol went ahead and sold our stuff without even giving us a heads up. Can you believe that? They didn't even have the decency to contact us and let us know that no one had picked up our items.
Now, here's where it gets even worse. We had this courier service that East Bristol Auctioneers knew about, you know? They were supposed to collect our stuff because we were stuck in Australia thanks to that pesky Covid. But instead of working things out with us, they just went ahead and sold our items. No contact, no nothing. We were clueless, mate. Absolutely clueless.
It wasn't until I finally made it back to the UK in September and started going through our furniture that I realized something was off. We were missing things for our house, things that we rightfully won at the auction. And you know what? East Bristol never bothered to mention that our items were still there when my husband went to collect a chair in August. Can you believe the nerve?
Let me tell you, we won't be buying from East Bristol ever again. There are plenty of other auction houses out there that actually give a damn about their customers. They've been understanding and kind to us in our situation, unlike East Bristol. It's a real shame, I tell ya. A real shame.
Disappointing Experience with East Bristol Auctions: Dodgy Policies and Shady Practices
My experience with East Bristol Auctions left me feeling like I got a raw deal, you know? They always had some smooth-talking response for everything, which just made me feel even more cheated. Let me break it down for you, mate. If you're thinking of dealing with these blokes, make sure you're local, alright? I've dealt with a few other British auction houses before, but these guys have some dodgy policies that'll leave a bad taste in your mouth.
First off, their online bids are locked at a minimum of £20, while locals can bid as low as a quid. I mean, seriously? That's just not fair, is it? And when I actually won a bid, they asked me to pay through PayPal, but they also wanted me to gift the payment. What's up with that? It's like they're trying to avoid some sort of fees or something.
But here's where it gets even worse, mate. When I tried to sell an item through them, they straight up refused to pay me because the fees were just a smidge below the sale price. Can you believe that? They charged me over £8 in commissions for a £10 item! I couldn't even check the original listing price because the item was sold through a local auction and wasn't listed anywhere else. Talk about shady, right?
And get this, they didn't even bother to let me know when the auction was happening. They just went ahead and charged me a listing fee, VAT, internet fee, selling fee, and a flat rate auction fee. I mean, come on! That's a whole lot of fees, innit? And then, to top it all off, they refused to pay me because, get this, after deducting all the fees, the payment they sent me through PayPal had an exchange fee, and they flat out refused to cover it. Can you believe the nerve?
Oh, and let's not forget about their shipping prices, mate. They offered to ship my items, but they wanted to charge me a whopping 30% more than what other auction houses charge. I would've tried to negotiate, you know, but it took them a whole month to even reply to my emails. Dealing with these guys was a nightmare, I tell ya. It dragged on for over a year because they were constantly delaying things with their slow email responses.
Oh, and here's a little side note for ya. They even had the audacity to charge me VAT, even though they knew full well that I wasn't in the UK or EU. Can you believe the cheek of it?
All in all, my experience with East Bristol Auctions was a complete letdown. They've got some seriously questionable practices, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the hassle, mate, and find yourself a more reliable auction house. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Terrible Experience with East Bristol Auctions: Missing Ring, Poor Customer Service, and Unprofessional Behavior
I gave East Bristol Auctions a measly one star rating, and that's only because I couldn't give them zero stars. Let me tell you about my experience. I bid on and paid for a fancy 9ct gold, 1.5 carat diamond ring. I even shelled out extra cash for postage and insurance to make sure everything was covered. They claimed to have sent the ring to me in a sealed cardboard box. But when I picked up the box from the Post Office, I immediately had a hunch that something was off. You see, the box felt way too light. So, being the curious person that I am, I gave it a little shake, and guess what? I heard absolutely nothing rattling inside. Suspicious, right?
I wasn't about to let this slide, so I asked the PostMistress and the shop owner to witness me opening the package. I knew that if I didn't have any witnesses, it would just be my word against the auction house. Carefully, I sliced through the gaffer tape that held the package together, and what did I find? Blue polystyrene packaging. That's it. No ring. Nada. Zilch. I took pictures of the empty box and wasted no time in contacting East Bristol Auctions to let them know what had happened.
To their credit, the lady I spoke to was polite. She asked if I had checked the box, to which I replied that I had indeed checked it and found it empty. But then she had the audacity to say, "I was a bit surprised when you mentioned the box being light, since a ring is not heavy at all so I don't see how you could tell whether there is a ring inside or not by holding the parcel in your hand." Can you believe that? Of course, I suspected it was empty! I had just received a ring from a reputable seller, and that package had some weight to it. Plus, I could hear movement when I gently shook it. This box, on the other hand, was as light as a feather.
The lady from the auction house did mention that the ring was packed in a bag, which was then placed in a larger bag, and finally sealed in the carton. But let me tell you, there was no evidence of any tampering with that carton. I made sure to send them pictures of the box before and after I opened it. And guess what? I even have two witnesses who can vouch for the fact that the box was empty. So there!
Now, here's where things get even more frustrating. As time passed with no contact from the auction house, I decided to notify my bank about the issue since I had paid for the ring with my debit card. The auction house assured me that the ring had been packed in their small packing room, but there was no bag, no ring, and not even a courtesy card. Can you believe the nerve?
A whole week went by, and I heard nothing from East Bristol Auctions. It was now the 12th of October. Thankfully, my bank stepped in and said they would handle the situation. But you know what East Bristol Auctions did? They had the audacity to block me from bidding on their site and their partners' sites. Can you believe it? Instead of addressing the fact that I had immediately paid for a valuable ring that turned out to be missing, they just blocked me without a care in the world.
Thank goodness my bank is reputable and doesn't tolerate this kind of nonsense. They're on top of things and won't let items be paid for and not delivered. I'm just glad I have them on my side.

Terrible Experience: East Bristol Auctions - Incompetent and Overpriced
East Bristol Auctions is definitely not the best auction house out there. They seem to have no idea what they're doing, making it the worst experience I've ever had. I strongly advise against dealing with them unless you want to get ripped off and charged way too much. It's just plain terrible.
Misleading Advertisement and Dismissive Customer Service: A Warning about East Bristol Auctions
East Bristol Auctions is a company that I recently had an experience with. They had an auction where I won an item, but unfortunately, there was a mistake in the advertisement. They stated that the item was from 1943, but when I received it, the date on it actually said 1953. I was quite disappointed with this discrepancy.
I decided to reach out to East Bristol Auctions via email to address the issue. However, their response was not what I had hoped for. They simply replied with a dismissive "too bad." This left me feeling frustrated and upset. It seems that they are not being truthful and honest in their dealings, which is quite concerning.
I must warn other potential buyers to be cautious when dealing with East Bristol Auctions. It appears that they cannot be trusted to provide accurate information about the items they auction. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would advise others to proceed with caution when considering purchasing from them.
Terrible Customer Service and Ignored Complaints - Stay Away from This Auction!
I gotta say, I ain't never gonna buy nothin' from this auction again. The stuff I ordered got all messed up when they sent it to me. I told 'em about it, but they straight up ignored my message for like a whole week. Can you believe that? So, I decided to complain 'bout it, and you know what they did? They came back at me with an aggressive reply. Like, seriously? That's just plain rude. Let me tell ya, folks, stay away from these guys if you want any sorta decent customer service. It's just terrible, plain and simple.

Disappointing Experience with East Bristol Auctions: Low Selling Prices and Minimal Returns
I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this auction called East Bristol Auctions. I entered a 19th-century brass-faced grandfather clock by F Bell from Warmley. They estimated its value to be between £150 and £250, but it ended up selling for only £35 after the sale. What a disappointment!
I also had an inlaid music cabinet that I wanted to sell. They estimated its value to be between £50 and £80, but it ended up selling for a measly £10 after the sale. Can you believe it?
To make matters worse, after deducting their minimum commission of £8 to £40, I only received a return of £1 to £60. What a rip-off! I strongly advise avoiding this auction house as they cannot be trusted. It's too easy for fraud to occur in such a live auction setting. Beware!
Overall, my experience with East Bristol Auctions was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Disappointing Experience with East Bristol Auctions: Inaccurate Description and Refusal to Refund
I just had an experience with East Bristol Auctions and let me tell you, it was not what I expected at all. I bought a lot from them, relying solely on the description since I live far away from the area. But guess what? The item I received was nothing like what was described! It was a total letdown.
I reached out to them to express my disappointment, hoping for a refund. But you know what they said? They basically told me it was my own fault and refused to give me any money back. Can you believe that? It's like they don't care about their customers at all.
I really think anyone considering using this auction house should seriously think twice. I mean, if they can't even provide accurate descriptions and then refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes, what kind of business are they running? It's just not worth the risk, in my opinion.
So, yeah, take my advice and steer clear of East Bristol Auctions. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable auction house. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Untrustworthy and Undervalued: My Disappointing Experience with East Bristol Auctions
If you're thinking of selling your items, I wouldn't recommend East Bristol Auctions. I recently brought in a Victorian grandfather clock that they estimated to be worth between £150 and £250. However, it ended up being sold for a measly £35 (you can see the proof in the picture). I also had an inlaid music cabinet that they estimated to be worth between £50 and £80, but it was allegedly sold after the auction for just £10. After deducting the minimum commission of £8.40, I only received a return of £1.60. It's incredibly frustrating how they make it easy to end the bidding early and then sell the items for a fraction of their true value. I strongly advise you to stay away from them as they are completely untrustworthy.
