I purchased a 2014 Ford Fiesta from Echo Park in April 2023. However, the representative did not provide me with the diagnostic report of the vehicle, nor did they disclose any faults that the car had. They sold me the car for a high value of $10000. Within a few months of driving the car, there was a major breakdown. The reverse gear was not working, and the car was stopping in the middle of the road. It was misfiring as soon as I used the accelerator. When I took my car to the nearest car repair store, they diagnosed the issue and the error code was "P090c". To my surprise, it was a major issue with the transmission and needed to be replaced completely.
I reached out to Echo Park, asking if they would replace my car or offer a trade-in option. I spoke to Sales Representative, who asked me to come down and he would give me $5000 on a trade-in. However, when I went there, he turned it down, stating that the offer was only valid if I purchased a car worth $20000 and above. This was ridiculous as I was not prepared to go for a high-budget car. Despite speaking to many representatives in Echo Park and making several trips to Grand Prairie from McKinney area, they never honored or gave me a solution. With no hopes, I got back my car in a broken condition.
I gave my detailed feedback at Dealer Rating. The next day, I got a call from General manager - Grand Preirie Echo Park, who seemed to be the General Manager of Echo Park. She promised me that she would help me fix the car by taking it to Echo Park's referred car repair shop, J's Alignment. General Manager of Echo Park also negotiated the price of the part replacement and labor charges with J's Alignment and asked me if I was ready to bear the charges of $1800 with the hopes that Echo Park would fix the damage and return my car. Thinking this, I agreed.
After three weeks, they called stating the car was ready, and I paid J's Alignment $1800 and picked up my car. However, within two miles of driving, the check engine light came on, and the same issues started again. When I called Echo Park and J's Alignment, they asked me to bring the car back. I took my car back the next day.
To my biggest surprise, Echo Park's General manager and their team member called me this morning and gave me an update, asking me to pay $1200 again to J's Alignment. I am really broken, and I don't know what to do. Already, I am incurring a loss, as the car is on loan for $9000. I want justice in this case. I want Echo Park to come forward and take responsibility for fixing the car and returning it to me in a drivable condition with no extra charges. Though J's Alignment has given a 90-day warranty, they are again demanding money. Please look into this on a serious note. final note: my car is still at the repair shop "J's Alignment".
I am a single mom I don't have a car for my day-to-day activities.
Desired outcome: I want Echopark to either replace the car or get it repaired from J's alignment in a drivable condition with no check engine light on
