bathroom facilities
I traveled on the 21st from Park Station to Durban. The bathroom was locked, no one was able to use the bathroom on the bus. I felt so sorry for the kids that were on the bus. As a parent how do you explain that your child can't use the bathroom coz it's out of order.
Traveled back from Durban on the 24th no bathroom facilities on the bus. The driver didn't ask if anyone needed a bathroom to stop, he stop at the halfway mark and that was it. Those seats were so uncomfortable, we couldn't recline our seats.
Passengers had to sit upright to sleep. This was the first time i used Eldo Coaches

Your bus comes late to jhb station and gets to montrose and expect us to order food and use the toilets and so forth... How the he'll is it possible to stop for only 10 mins. Number plate DT77YC gp. Food paid for at mug n bean 98rand and you driver leaves me behind. I have to run on the N3 to catch the bus I paid for. I am going to sue you guys and a full refund I want as I got pics of me crossing the N3 nearly got knocked by cars and lost my wallet with 980rand in it to catch your bus that stop for under 10mins at montrose.
waiting for another bus till we get tired
This is [censored] and yet ridiculous, for real. I really do not get it why we have to wait for another bus at joburg station whilst the ticket mentioned from pretoria to belville (not from pretoria and stop at joburg)

On 11 September 2018, we booked the bus from Port Elizabeth to Kingwilliamstown. The bus was for 06:00 in the morning of 12 September. At about 08:15, we received a call from a person from Eldo Coaches saying the bus is no longer going at 06:00 but at 05:00 which is an hour early. We were not happy about this but we were given no choice. At 04:40 while waiting for a cab, the guy called again asking where we are because the bus is leaving. We told him that that we are coming just waiting for a cab. He then used the word "ey lomjita" which simply displays his impatience and lack of understanding why we are not there.
1. We booked a 6:00 bus not 5:00.
2. The manner in which the guy was talking after went out of our way to accommodate this earlier bus problem without complaining, the best he could have done was to be nice.
They cannot treat paying customers in such an unprofessional manner. I cannot tolerate it at all.
I am complaining about bad driving
Thursday the 30th of August 2018 the Eldo coach bus that left P. E at 20:00 to Mount Frefre from Cape Town, the driver was driving so reckless especially the road from Gtown to KWT, we pleaded with him to slow down as the road was not looking good but he didn't hear out cries. That made us all in the bus feel uncomfortable as we were all looking at the road

hi my name is winnie last week friday I was travelling from Durban to johannesburg in the morning it was so hot and the driver did not switch on the aircorni guess the aircorn was not working and then later at 22:00 same date I was travelling from johannesburg to durban with my husband and a small kid it was very cold and the driver swich on the aircorn now both my husband my daughter r sick, on top of that the drive get lost, I used to love eldo coaches too much but now I will never use it again. u have useless drivers. my email address winnie. I am writing this complaint whilst on a bus with my kids from Southgate to Durban and am absolutely horrified and disgusted by the condition of the bus, there is an appalling stench that is coming from the toilet which os out of order it is ALL over the bus we cannot breathe, the company could care for their customers by making sure thatyheir bus is clean and the toilet is cleaned and locked if it is not working and not subject us to the disgusting stench of urine and feaces and what ever is in there.

What a total disgrace and service this is. The bus was suppose to depart at 05h05 from Potchefstroom this morning. Eldo send a message last night saying the bus will be delayed - no indication of what the delayed time is... We got to the stop at 04h45 as we don't want to be late maybe delayed means 15 minutes... what a total suprise... phoned the 24 hour line at 07h15 and they telling me the bus driver passed the stop as the bus was full! How on earth is this possible? we purchased this ticket in on the 12th of July? The women is going home once a month. The time was so convenient as she could be in Pretoria at 08h00 to get her second taxi to Grobblersdal and be at home with her family at 11h00.
You know what we had to wait for the 2nd bus that was promised to be there at 08h30 - believe me... it is 09h07 and still no bus! Have you got any idea how cold Potchestroom is? This has been exactly 4hours!
Never ever will I use you again. No wonder the reviews are all so bad.
This is pathetic to say the lease and everytime there is just another apology. Imagine the bus driver did this 3 times before - where is the discipline?
lack of competence and empathy
I booked a return trip to johannesburg, returning today at 13h00, on my way to johannesburg I had car problems and was stuck for 2hours in Witbank. I tried calling the contact centre to reschedule bus for the next one but had no luck with getting through, record since about 12 I was calling, called a 011 number as well of which they gave a cell nunber to call.. That person was rude to my partner telling him to just call contact centre then hung up, eventually reached Park station which after speaking to Eldo consultants noone was able to assist resulting in me having to find another way/mode of transport. As much as my calling was not 3 hours in advance I do believe circumstances such as these have a way forward rather than an individual being transport less and stuck in Johannesburg.
Let it be noted that this is now the 3rd ticket that has been wasted on eldo, the incompetency is disgusting. If you check under my name I had a booking previously as well of which I requested to be cancelled 4 tickets 3 cancelled but only 2 were cancelled, when at the station only then was I told that one had been forfeited

Are all bookings I made, and if your records are clear you will see that 1 previous non conpetency and 2 tickets from today.
I really dont find it fair to work this way, I called as and when I was stuck on that freeway, IF my calls were answered probably I would have been able to get a way forward instead of paying double actually even triple with what I had to spend trying to get home this evening. The hours spent at that station trying to figure myself out for me are money, I run a business and customer service which includes empathy for me is everything.
If Eldo policy does not have a way of working with emergencies, and an accident on the road on my way to terminals can never be reported 3hours before, then it just honestly is not the coach to use.
As much as I was introduced to it and preferred using it going forward I totally can not accept such, so much so that all the people im booking for month end I did not even feel like doing when I got to the station.
the driver freezing us almost to death
Im in the 18:30pm pm from PTA to DBN. The bus was late as usual, but the services we getting and the treatment is really not professional. We have been begging the driver to lower or switch off the aircon but fall on deaf ears. All the way from gp and we are in PMB now still feeling cold. Some people have booked return tickets. Should we expect the same treatment? Its winter, we have our fleece blankets but the coldness is beyond. Please do something
bus driver attitude
My grandmother was travelling from East London on the 1st July 2018 to Cape Town arriving on the 2nd. The driver refuses to let her get off in Bellville Cpt. He claims that getting her luggage will make them delay to get to Cape Town CBD on time as my grandmother 's ticket says she is getting off in Cape Town. The bus was delayed for an hour because of braking pads issue.
I understand that a customer can make a decision as to where they want to get off. Where it is safer for them and more convinient.

This the 2nd time using this bus service. I recently spoke to the manager in the Cape Town offices, and he apologies for the first incident.
About a month ago I used eldo coaches to travel to Eastern Cape. The bus broke for almost 3 hours outside Worcester, which didn't really irritate a lot of people although it was an inconvenience. when I came back from the Eastern Cape I went to collect my refund for my sister which couldn't travel with because she had to be admitted in hospital, the front line consultant were quite very rude until I spoke to their manger and he then told them he knows about the incident and I should be refunded, after a long struggle and unprofessional assistant.
Now, Today currently am using eldo coaches again, I actually regret booking with the bus again. I thought it would be a bit better after I was promised this ride will be a smooth and better one. it's actually worst than my previous experience. The bus is so dirty it smells like urine... it's even hard to breath. This is not only bad service but a health hazard as well.
how do you take people for long distance in a flirty bus, like you transporting pigs!

refusal of reschedule
I booked a bus ticket on Friday for Saturday 14/04/2018 from East London to Cape Town. I however was late for the bus and called in about 5 hours before the departure time to request rescheduling of the bus. I however had network issues upon completion of the rescheduling and could not complete it. I then called in about an hour before the departure time for the same thing and I was advised that I could not be assisted because it is less than 3 hours of the departure time. I then had to buy another ticket for the same trip. I am very disapointed with you guys as I know many other bus companies who have a validity period for the ticket and charge a customer a certain percentage for their failure to make it in time to the bus.
I very much do feel that I was robbed because I spent R800 for a single trip to Cape Town, which was on Saturday R360 and on Sunday R440.

We arrived early for our schedule bus for 11:00 waited until the time past at durban station we asked whats happening they told us is not there fault but they fail to inform us of the delays we had to wait almost two hours for our bus with their poor planning there was 11:00 buses two going to jhb and one going to pta the buses hired buses started coming in we cue they tell us thats going to pta we have to wait until the jhb buses leave again they fail to notify us that we dont have a bus we must wait the lady kept speaking in zulu not mindind us until we demanded answers thats when the guy taging the bags explain the delays now stuck with a bus no toilets it keeps waiting cause some one is pressed no radio or tv m not talking about the toilets even city to city is better that your service like really eldos long distance and this is all you can hire
disgusting customer service
Dear Sir/Madam. We are utterly disgusted with the pathetic customer service my brother received. He paid for 3 tickets however no seats were available at Bellville. The bus driver then decided to take 2 boys off their seats & let the boys sit on bags on top of seats. Eventually my brother & my sister in law had a seat bit was another seat sort for their 4 year los daugther who paid in full. They already had their baby on their lap. Now they have to keep their other daughter on their lap as well for 16 hours. They are currently travelling on an Eldo coach from Bellville to East London. When my sister in law explained to the bus driver that their daugther also need a seat, the bus driver informed her that they only cater for those departing from Cape Town. Which is a blatant lie. Please assist as my family are experiencing bas service and need to be re-imbursed.

I would like to hereby lodge a complain.
Me and my 3 children were booked on the 15:30 bus from warden to pta yesterday 03/12/17. The bus only arrives at 16:45. It was a hired bus. As the drivers was loading my luggage I asked him for the luggage labels where as he informed me he does not have. When we arrived at Pretoria station I proceeded to remove my luggage from the bus when I noticed one of my bags was missing. My self and the driver proceeded to the ELDO office with the bag that was left. Upon reaching the ELDO office I have spoken to the lady at the counter. She wasn't much helpful or friendly. She rudely told me its not ELDO's problem if luggage goes missing. The luggage has my clothing and my baby daughter's clothing in. If the driver had assisted passengers getting off at centurion with their luggage checking the labels this would not have happend. I have called asking for an update as I have been informed that the passenger would have returned my luggage at the Pretoria branch at 12 midday today. Up until this point have not been contacted by anyone from ELDO. I have also explained that I was not at fault for my luggage being taken mistakenly and I do not have the means to go to the ELDO office in Pretoria to retrieve it should it get there.
I would like a reply regarding above complaint.

This is a pared down version of the email with the worst part of the experience.
'Now we come to the worst part of the whole Eldo Coaches experience! My return trip was booked for 12.30pm on Friday 10th November, 2017. I arrived at Voorbaai Truck Stop shortly after 12pm and saw that the Eldo Coach was already there. Thinking that I had plenty of time we found a parking space, which took a little while, and offloaded my luggage. I said farewell to my associate and started walking towards the bus to embark but, to my surprise, the bus pulled away before I could board. It was going quite slowly at first and I tried to run after it, which was not easy as I am approaching 70! My associate saw what was happening and raced after the bus in her car but couldn't find it. As it was only 12.15pm at this stage I felt sure that it would return.
I found the number for your (so called) helpline and started calling them. It was the usual story of a message saying the person I was trying to contact was busy or just nothing happening at all. After 3 calls I managed to get through to an operator who said the driver should not have left as it was not yet 12.30 and that she would call to find out what had happened to the bus and I should call back. I said that she should call me back as it is so difficult to get through to the helpline. After confirming my number she said that she would find out what the problem was and call me back. I waited until 12.50pm and had still not heard from her.

I am in a bus from Johannesburg to pietermaritzburg there is a heavy smell of cigarret in a bus worse of all I am travelling with a 4 months old baby. The driver doesn't even say anything. It seems like is a bus culture. I really have a long trip and my sinuses are strikking like hell. Why is the nus operate like that? Are you npt considerate for other pasengers who are non - smokers?
the drivers speed
I took the second bus at 22h00 from Durban to Pretoria on the 5th of October 2017. The driver is speeding so fast, unfortunately I can't see the speed we're travelling at but it's ridiculously high. We're overtaking every truck and car we come across. The driver is even flashing the headlights for other vehicles to move to the left side of the rode so we can speed last. Worst of all its so misty outside so the visibility is not clear and we're just zooming last everything. To make matters worse the a/c is so high that whenever it comes on other passengers just beg him to switch it off. This is a very uncomfortable ride!
