Was told no help due to corona
Was told no help due to corona. My business was shut down and my work just started back up. I needed a 2 week extension. Went through all my savings already. Was told sorry and to call back and make a new policy when I was able to.

My son was rear ended on the highway by someone who had elephant insurance! They denied our claim and we had to go through our own insurance which will turn around and sue them to get the money back! I would not use them if you are at all concerned about them paying a claim!

I had to initiate the claim for the driver that hit my new truck and bent the rim. They did pay to get the truck fixed but after doing my own research, my baseline for diminished value was in the hundreds to thousands of dollars range. My truck is now listed with a history of an accident, and they proposed a settlement amount that was unsatisfactory. Of course, I declined the offer. I will be consulting with an attorney to take this matter into dispute. I am determined to hold the company accountable for their wrongdoing.
The WORST insurance company I have ever had. Their customer service is awful. It takes them forever to reply to your inquiries. Find another company.
I think the reviews speak for themselves in regards to this company
I think the reviews speak for themselves in regards to this company. Everything that's been said I can relate to and unfortunately the oversight for this insurance company needs to be contacted and pointed to this page. I can understand one offs or even two to three people having a bad experience with a company but hundreds? That's different.
Had Elephant insurance for about a year because it was reasonable compared to other insurance companies. However, two things happened that I did not expect and caused me problems. 1) Elephant insurance sold my personal information and caused personal security issues. 2) They did not do their part and failed to send confirmation of my insurance coverage to the relevant authorities. When it was time to renew my license plate tags, the state was going to revoke my driver's license because they said I had no insurance for that year. It took six weeks to get all this cleared, including providing bank statements to the state to prove I paid insurance premiums to Elephant. 3) Anytime I called (including to discuss the missing information issue) I was either sent to voicemail (and never called back) or on hold for an average of 90 minutes with the representative telling me 'they would look into it'. Don't risk your safety or your license with this company.
If I could leave negative stars I would. This company is a joke. I had set up the policy after a split and I had moved I won't go into those details but because I would give all kinds of personal information on my situation and my life I was very rudely told to find another carrier because it was standard policy for them to ask for all the information and if I could not or would not provide them then they could not keep me insured and I got a cancellation notice in the mail three days later. so I did what they told me and found another carrier and will never go with these people ever again. they are rude and have no business asking for such personal information that has no bearing on the coverage of a vehicle and definitely not their business about my life situation.

I had to initiate the claim for the driver that hit my new truck and bent the rim. They did pay to get the truck fixed but after doing my own research my base line for diminished value was $*** to $***. My truck is listed on *** now with a wreck and they said they wanted to give me $***. Of course I declined the amount. I will be sending this to a attorney for taking this on contention. I will nail the company for wring doing.
They are a very corrupt organization that will look for ways to add unexpected charges to your bill. When I finally became fed up with dealing with these mobsters, I went shopping for new coverage. Fortunately, I secured a better and more affordable auto insurance policy from Progressive Insurance Company. Instead of paying an exorbitant amount monthly, I'm now paying a significantly reduced rate for my coverage. I never experienced any lapse in coverage; I informed the previous insurer of my decision beforehand. Despite this, they proceeded to send a collection bill for an outrageous sum to all three credit bureaus. This might be their standard practice in Maryland, but I assure you, it is not the case in the Commonwealth of Virginia, specifically in Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
Elephant was good because originally price low
Elephant was good because originally price low. BUT once needed to use it they claimed my car which went airborne on highway was fixable. Luckily I was not at fault. The other insurance company had it put on a lift and did a thorough inspection and it was totaled. Bent frame, caved in from top even. THEN when trying to cancel they keep debiting account. Contacted ALL day. One CSR said would not debit. It did. Now overdrawn. No grocery money and no special Easter for my special need child.

A couple weeks ago I signed on with them and not even 2 weeks into my policy they charged me a late fee and a reversal fee. I'm still battling it. They kept saying I stopped payment but I did not. I had sent them bank statements showing I haven't and one of the ladies lied and said she called my bank and my bank apparently told her I did. But makes no sense because I have to carry an sr22 so I need consist insurance and paid the amount anyways. Now they tagged an extra *** onto my bill. I took them on the phone with me while calling my bank and my bank flat out said they did not charge my card and it was my first time calling them. So no payment was stopped. The insurance is cheap but I'm already looking elsewhere

I had coverage with Elephant Insurance
I had coverage with Elephant Insurance. For no reason, that I can ascertain, they did not process my payment on the regular payment date. When I realized the payment hadn't gone through my bank, nor the regular email received that payment was due, I went to login to my account to see what was going on. I was unable to login, being notified I needed to change my password. When I attempted to do that, with the email I registered with, they said my email was not associated with an account. I used the help option and sent an email with my account number, asking why I was being told I did not have an account. Within an hour I received a notification "Due to a system delay on our side, your automatic payment that was due on between April 2 through April 11 will now be drafted on April 12." And now my insurance is cancelled. Getting through to them is impossible. A ridiculous and completely unprofessional situation and company.

This insurance company needs to be sued
This insurance company needs to be sued. No representatives to actually set up a policy when you start. You do everything online. So I had a car in my name, and put the policy in my son's name since he was driving it solely. No agent to say hey that won't work. Also this car was a replacement for another car and it needed repairs so it wasn't driven for a couple of months. Elephant knew the previous car was no longer in use, but no one called to say hey you need to get your new vehicle on the policy in a certain amount of days. Well we missed that deadline by days when my son was in an accident a year ago due to ice on the roads and another car hit him. Now we have been harassed by collection agencies for *** for a year and my son and me are both going to get our licenses suspended if we don't pay. It's been a year of hell because of this POS insurance . Just because they are cheap, don't go with them. You get what you pay for which is nothing.

On August 8, 2022 I talked to an employee from elephant insurance on the phone
On August 8, 2022 I talked to an employee from elephant insurance on the phone. They kept saying the same few script lines that they couldnt cover someone hitting my car because it was inconsistent with the findings. They said it more resembles me hitting a pole with my car, which I obviously would be aware of and is not the case. I asked if there were any steps to review it again, make an appeal, make a compliant, a costumer service number, anyone that I could ask to talk to about next steps since their findings werent correct. She said there was none of that and I could send any new information and that would be it. I understand maybe some people hit a curb or something and try to file a claim, but this was not the case so I would like to get my coverage that we are paying for. Additionally, there were some odd remarks like its not about proof but the findings of the car and a lot of back and forth that was not productive. I kept asking questions like what about it is inconsistent, what proof to send, can I appeal for next steps, and none of these questions were directly answered. I am shocked that they dont have a costumer support, compliant department, or refuse to take a second look at my claim once it has been reviewed.

I was charged $45 after I didnt renew my insurance policy with elephant. They charged me with no notice on a random day and refuses to refund my money or let me speak to a supervisor. They decided I owed money and took it out of my bank account without permission or explanation.
My Vehicle was stolen in March 2022. I filed a claim with Elephant Insurance. Elephant Insurance sent a check to the bank for the payoff. However, the check was either lost in the mail or never reached the bank. Wells Fargo was in search of the check, and I informed them that I would need to contact my insurance agent or claim adjuster. After reaching out to my agent to understand the problem, the claim agent confirmed that the check was indeed lost. They assured me that they would cover the entire outstanding loan amount, as Wells Fargo does not accept partial payments. To date, Wells Fargo has not received the full amount for the remaining payoff.
My vehicle was hit by their insured on 7/16/2022 at approximately 10:30pm. My truck was parked in front of my home unoccupied. Elephant has still not completed the claims process and today is 9/20/2022. My vehicle is still in the shop, they are taking *** business days at a time to answer any supplements sent to them. They stopped covering a rental to me on 9/2 and are trying to pass a diagnostic charge to me as not covered. NOTHING about this accident was my fault, I should still have a rental until repairs are complete and there should be 0 out of pocket cost for me the victim in this. Elephant has not returned calls as promised and the only interaction I have with them is if I call them. They also have not communicated to the body shop, I am initiating pretty much all communication. Calls to reps and the supervisor go to voicemail and I cannot get a call back from them or any resolution, meanwhile my truck is still not fixed as of 9/20/2022 and again I am at 0 fault for any of this.
My complaint involves the practices of the following: Bait and Switch, False Advertisement, and Breach of Contract
My complaint involves the practices of the following: Bait and Switch, False Advertisement, and Breach of Contract. I signed up with Elephant insurance online on 2/12. I paid in full for a 6-month policy which is set to expire 8/13. I was quoted a price of $*** for a 6-month policy. I paid for the entire 6-month duration in full at the time I signed up. Since that time, there have been two attempts by Elephant insurance to charge additional monies for the policy. The first was because I allegedly did not sign the waiver for PIP insurance. Now, I have been advised that I owe an additional $*** because their underwriting department has realized that I had a car accident in October . I originally signed up for the insurance online. Elephant's online algorithm inquired of accidents from 3 years ago. My answer was no. The supervisor Yolanda has advised that Elephant is well within their rights to go back 5 years. However, I know of no information in writing to support such a practice. I have not received any information advising that Elephant reserves the right to alter the term of the contract and that they are allowed to go back as far as 5 years. Now that company has baited me in, they are attempting to change the terms of the contract in order to be able to charge additonal money.
I had an SR22 on my policy and when I asked them to cancel my policy before the premium was due they told me its their legal obligation to maintain my policy for 13days after reporting the cancellation and are trying to send me to collections now. I spoke with both the *** and an attorney who both state it is not the insurance providers responsibility to maintain my coverage, only to report the status. I am not responsible for the charges theyre claiming I owe because they literally refused to stop my coverage.
These charlatans took out $130 dollars out of my account without authorization after the policy was cancelled. Absolutely terrible customer service and awful experience. They charged my account after I told the to change my payment date to the 17th of each month. After that they told me that they never received this change. I have never had a worse experience with an insurance company than this one.
I was involved in a car accident caused by Elephant Insurance Client. Elephant Insurance decided to take back the car rental while my vehicle is still in the body shop on August 26th. I believe it is required by law for the at-fault insurance company to provide a rental car while the damaged vehicle is being repaired. Claim number is [protected].
I had a policy with elephant insurance I had no idea that that it was up for renewal
I had a policy with elephant insurance I had no idea that that it was up for renewal. Anytime my payment was late they would send a letter so I would be advised that I had a payment issue. I was never notified. They always take the payment on the 1 st of the month. My son who is on the policy had a car accident on the January 30. Reported his car accident to the insurance company and was never told that we needed to renew the policy. He last spoke with someone on Feb. 11 and still was not informed. This another horrific story where we pay car insurance for years and when there is an actual accident there is NO real assistance. Telling me that the claims department has no record of weather your policy needs attention is complete lie. Why would you take a claim if there is no policy? Then instruct him on what to do he was called on the 11th and they still didn't know? I spoke with Liz the supervisor who thought it was sort of funny and actually did a little cough laugh if I had only called 4 days ago really? When something is taken electronically you don't think to call until you realized it was not taken. I am still covered and will be until I find another company, but this is very disappointing. We are now having to pay thousands of dollars for a car that was insured, the policy did not actually lapse until after February 10 or later

I paid in full for a 6 month premium on June 6th (the due date was June 9th) now I have a charge for $12.00 for August 9th but there is no explanation as to what the charge is for or why. I have not received any tickets or filed any claims recently. I called customer service the other day and she said they would waive the fee. She was very friendly but the fee is still there.
I was rear ended by their insured. Liability has been established. The rental car company they approved Hertz had zero cars available. I had to pay out of pocket with Enterprise and Elephant said they would reimburse me for the rental. They short paid my rental car bill even though it was Elephant that prolonged the process. The adjuster they assigned to the claim did not come as scheduled which accounted into a 7 day delay for another assigned adjuster to come look at my car at the bodyshop. Nothing happened unless I initiated the call. Im still awaiting my diminished value claim to be addressed and settled. Its been 60+ days since date of loss.

I filed an insurance claim in November for my brand new Jeep Gladiator
I filed an insurance claim in November for my brand new Jeep Gladiator after colliding with a deer at highway speeds, causing significant damage. The vehicle had only a few hundred miles on it. Initially, Elephant Insurance denied the full funding for repairs. Despite multiple confirmations of the damage by inspectors and supplemental reports from my repair shop, they have consistently underpaid, not covering all damages. The shop insists these funds are necessary for a complete repair. Elephant even omitted a damaged panel in their assessment and incorrectly stated my fender lacks LED lights, which it has. Despite providing all requested evidence and waiting since November, I still haven't received sufficient funds for repairs. I'm seeking advice on resolving this and preventing future occurrences, as well as exploring legal options to ensure a proper repair.
I told Elephant Insurance l didn't need their policy any more, yet they still contacted to charge my card. It took 100 calls for them to send me my refund, and it only became a partial credit. Months down the line l get a call from a collection agency that's telling me l owe Elephant Insurance $*** and now it's showed up on my credit
Elephant was great until I had a car accident. The adjuster entered into their system that it was my fault. My attorney reached out to Ms. [Name Withheld] and she never returned the call. I also provided her with the information from [Insurance Company] regarding the lawsuit against the driver. She still has not reacted but sent me a bill for a past due amount. This is ridiculous and a waste of my time. I would like to have that resolved. Elephant should get the money back for the loss of the vehicle but apparently they don't need it. They also reduced the payout by a certain deductible amount.
I received letters in the mail that was apart of a data breach but I never signed up for insurance or inquired about insurance from this company, they refused to help since I didn't give them a member id they just hung up and went to the next caller. Nobody is really trying to help or they transfer me back to elephant Insurance to get insurance .
I recieved a letter from Elephant Insurance, Explaining that my personal information (Name and Drivers license number) were copied by another company without my permission I never had or was insured by this company I dont know what can I do
In August after visiting my father in a small town, I pulled into a rest area before returning to Irving
In August after visiting my father in a small town, I pulled into a rest area before getting on the highway to return to Irving. I pulled into a stall only to see it was out of service. I put my car in reverse to back out, looked behind me in both directions, saw a car come around the corner and waited until they parked. I checked again and started backing out slowly after confirming no traffic. As soon as I was out far enough I put my foot on the brake and placed the gear back in drive. Split second after I heard (not felt) metal on metal as an accident sounded. I put my car in park and exited my vehicle to see a smaller car in a T shape behind my car. I saw a large round shaped depression in their left rear passenger door. I saw a very faint stripe in the very center of the metal on my rear bumper. The other driver kept stating he honked his horn, which was not heard at all and no radio or other distraction to muffle the sound were on. After speaking with Claims and giving my statement, I heard nothing more from them except a letter simply stating "the claim was settled." I called to ask for more information and was told to either call the adjuster or log into my account. I did both. No response from the adjuster ever again and absolutely no documentation or pictures are online. They filed this as an at fault accident and raised my rate by a significant amount. There is no way a STRAIGHT bumper can cause a ROUND depression on a door. This decision is not a properly investigated claim.

I contacted the merchant a month ago when my payment for April was due to find out if I was able to discontinue services or defer payments for some time during COVID-19. The merchant stopped the payment for the month and automatically drafted two months payment for the month of May without checking to see if I was still going to continue doing business with them. I Explained the situation to the merchant and the merchant advised me unable to reissue refund when I expressed my concern with the policy. Company only stopped payment for April.. I did not receive communication or contact in regards to what was needed moving forward and I did not know the company would debit me for two months after deferring April's payment. Previously I had recurring payments set up with the merchant but for the regular monthly amount, not double. Merchant stated "I should return my tags" although, I was trying to defer payments, not cancel the policy. I believe what was done was unethical on behalf of the business and I will not be doing business with them moving forward. I believe this is pure miscommunication and no solutions were offered. If the merchant was concerned about the customer, there would have been communication to rectify the situation especially if there was any miscommunication in regards to me wanting to defer payments. Even if merchant contacted me and let me know there was a particular amount due or needed to be paid to preserve the policy, I would have preferred proper communication, NOT a $*** unauthorized transaction in the middle of a pandemic.

On September 15, 2022, my son *** moved from my residence and turned my car (the car that he had been driving for 2 years) back to me and stated that he would no longer be able to pay for the insurance and that he had found a "loop hole" with his grandparents insurance so that he would be allowed to use their vehicle instead. I called Elephant Insurance on September 16, 2022 to remove *** from the insurance policy since he no longer lived in my house or would be driving any of my vehicles. The representative on the phone, ***, told me that it was their company policy that should would not remove any drivers from the policy without proof of him having drivers insurance elsewhere. I explained to her the situation in that there is no way I can have any documents to prove that he is insured because of how he is "borrowing" a car from his grandparents. The representative continued that per her policy she would not change anything on the policy without some sort of documentation. I then asked to speak to her supervisor. After waiting in the phone for over 20 minutes, a woman named *** got on the line. She once again stated that the company policy would not allow any changes and according to their underwriting department, there were no exceptions. She then went to tell me that *** would remain on this policy and would be continued to be charged every month until I could prove he had insurance elsewhere or that he hasn't lived in my residence for over 30 days. I then asked to speak to her supervisor. She stated that they were very busy but she would put the request in and someone would respond within the next *** hours. So at this time, they are still charging me insurance for a person who no longer lives with me or drives any of my vehicles and outright refusing any resolve for this matter.

This complaint to Elephant Insurance CEO and the management team
This complaint to Elephant Insurance CEO and the management team. I have had a couple of incidents regarding someone hitting my car for one in the back rear bumper in July. I have paid for uninsured motorists that is on the policy which if the other driver doesn't have insurance that elephant will pay for the damages on my car. I was told since I did not have a police report, No drivers license of the other driver and her insurance card that they will not pay for any damages. At that time the driver was in a rush due to a infection on her arm which I told the young lady that took my statement from Elephant. The other driver had reached down for her phone at a stop light and rear end my car. Therefore since I didn't have the information Elephant stated they are not paying for damages. If they lady refuse to show her policy and driver's license what could i do at that time. When I call 911 they stated just ex-change information. Elephant stated you have to all police report, drivers license and insurance card.. They can't locate the driver and that is my job to do so. Why pay for uninsured motorists? When they refuse to pay. In November 29 My car was rear from the back in Walmart parking lot and they stated I hit the car because the scratches match. The other driver front bumper had white paint on the driver side and my rear bumper on the passenger side has a scratch. It took the other driver well over 30 days to respond and come up with a story I hit her car. Elephant refuse to pay for any damages and stated both accidents I was at fault because I should have known their policy and procedures of uninsured motorists and what the other driver stated they went by her word. This driver never got out of car for no reason. Why? Since she say I was at fault. She never asked for any information from me, But i asked for her information. Therefore If I was at fault why she wasn't concerned about her car?
On July 14th, I called Elephant Auto Insurance regarding my policy renewal (which was going to happen on July 31st)
On July 14th, I called Elephant Auto Insurance regarding my policy renewal (which was going to happen on July 31st). I stated to the agent via the phone that I wanted to discuss removing my sister from my policy for the renewal and that my address would be changed for the renewal period as well. I moved into my new address on August 7th and I wanted to get a quote for how much the renewal premium would be without my sister (since elephant required she be on my old policy since I was living at home while in college and she fit the age requirement to be listed on my policy), and with the new address. Elephant then rendered a quote for what the renewal premium would be, however, it was significantly higher than I was willing to pay, so I expressed my dissatisfaction and offered to search around with other companies. I landed on *** insurance, who was much cheaper in premium. I was then notified by elephant upon cancellation, later in July, that I owed a fee before I closed my account with them. When I inquired why, they stated it was for the change in address on July 14th (an address change I didn't make until August 7th). I reminded them that I was simply getting a quote for my RENEWAL and not changing my address. They claimed that it is their policy to change the address when the customer confirms it on the phone, however, I never confirmed my address being changed on July 14th. This is absurd. I have spoken with supervisors as well as case agents, offering to provide my lease as well as any other documents to show that I did NOT have a change of address on July 14, and thus to remove the charge. They declined multiple times and stated that I'd need a subpoena to get the transcript records of my call and that they would NO longer review my case. I am being charged money for a move that I did NOT make while my policy was active. This seems fraudulent and at the least, a very immoral business practice.

I filed a claim after I was the victim of a hit and run driver (car hauler) on 9/3 while driving on I635 in Dallas
I filed a claim after I was the victim of a hit and run driver (car hauler) on 9/3 while driving on I635 in Dallas. Thankfully I was unharmed however I have not had any representative from Elephant insurance contact me within ANY the promised response windows throughout the entire process. I was also told I would receive an update within 48 hours of uploading the damage photos, and still no response for weeks. I have repeatedly asked to have another claims adjuster handle my claim and requested a direct call form management due to the lack of response and proper handling from my claims adjuster. My claim was denied on 10/19 based on photos I took on 9/5 due to the adjuster alleging the damages did not match the claim despite me providing a police report number, license plate of the driver that hit me, as well as a copy of the accident report I filled the day of the accident. The denial response did not correctly reflect the accident I reported and instead listed it as being struck by an unknown vehicle while parked and unoccupied! On 10/19, I requested to have an adjuster come see the vehicle in person and again requested a call from management to discuss and have not heard a response on either. I again had to follow up on AFTER they missed the promised response time only to find out my adjuster had made no progress on either end. The adjuster claimed all management was unavailable due to a meeting. This was a very traumatic event for me and the handling of my claim has been nothing short of absolutely horrendous customer service. In addition, There has been zero attempt to find the driver that hit me despite providing the license plate number of the vehicle, nor did they request the 911 transcript from the day of the accident to confirm. I have uploaded an estimate I received from a repair shop on 10/19 as well and have still not heard a response on that either. I could not be more disappointed with this company. Consumer BEWARE.
On august 2 I was on the highway when a auto recycling truck sped past me with parts of crushed cars flying back at my vehicle
On august 2 I was on the highway when a auto recycling truck sped past me with parts of crushed cars flying back at my vehicle. The pieces hit the hood the fender bumper headlamps windshield causing damage. I reported this to the insurance company. It took them a week and half to get me a rental car as my vehicle was not drivable. It took them 4 weeks of me constantly calling, filing complaints, and getting a manager to even start the claims process. Every time they would threaten to take me out of the rental even though my car was not driveable. I sent them multiple estimates with proof the hood, bumper, windshield fender and headlamps were damaged needed replaced or painted from the impact. They first asked for proof the accident even happened time and date stamped photos before providing a rental, photos and estimate from a previous claim with geico from a year ago, and then did the tactics of ignoring me to get me to take a lower amount. With all my damage they first tried to get me to accept 800 dollars and said they would waive the deductible since it was a no fault. I told them no I want this resolved. My estimates I sent in totaled ***, *** and *** for the damages. Not painting the hood or replacing the headlamp thats damaged but instead just buffing out deep cuts that go to the metal and chipped paint on the hood and a cracked headlamp. They have violated insurance practice laws which require insurance companies to act in good faith, to reasonably resolve a claim, to remain ethical, and to communicate to the insured. The adjuster even at one point said to me that if I didnt take the 800 she would take as long as possible to settle my claim and even file an investigation so my claim would take forever if I didnt take 800. The last email. I got said we will wait for the va insurance commission to call us to settl

I was in a car accident on 4-16-22 and the other driver was at fault
I was in a car accident on 4-16-22 and the other driver was at fault. I went through the other drivers insurance because of this, but I did make sure that my insurance took note of it. I since then have switched insurance companies. Currently I need to find out more about my gap/ total loss coverage I had at the time of the accident. They only keep turning me around in circles, saying they can't help because a claim wasn't filed. They haven't given me any other options and they were the same way when i had coverage through them. Prior to this, also while covered with them, someone put gummy bears in my gas tank. I noticed this and waited until the next morning to contact Elephant. Elephant allowed me to file a claim they paid to have my car towed to a local dealership as it was not safe to drive. After Elephant had my car towed to that dealership, they said that my policy was canceled at 12am the night that the vandalism occurred (which I was unaware of) even though I had made the payment the morning after (due to a late check). They refused to do any further help and said Elephant as a team would decide what time the incident happened, to see if I was eligible to be covered by them. The person put gummy bears in my gas tank before 12am according to the video evidence that the apartment complex showed me, which I'm not even sure if they still have on file. Elephant took so long to respond whether or not they would cover the vandalism that I had to give up which seems like what they were hoping for. Because they had my car towed to the dealership to get fixed, I had to pay out of pocket for the damages. The dealership didn't fully fix the damages the first time, so I ended up having to pay for another tow, and did all of this on my own. This is the worst, most unhelpful, reliable, and professional insurance company I have ever dealt with. I'm not even sure if they exist past a phone line. They should have pictures and documentation of this that I sent to them.

TERRIBLE. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR POLICY ACCESS FOR 4 DAYS NOW. CAN'T RENT A CAR WITHOUT POLICY DOCS. CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE SAYS THEY ARE CLOSED AND WEBSITE IS STILL DOWN.
