I wasn't pleased with my experience at Ellington Air Conditioning & Heat. I had requested an upgrade to a more energy efficient unit, specifically wanting to switch from a Trane 16 seer to a Trane 18 seer. However, they ended up giving me the exact same Trane 16 seer unit that I already had. Additionally, they changed the intake unit by 1/2 ton to match the supposed energy efficient unit they installed, but it turned out not to be energy efficient at all.
Fraud. They only gave me 2 options: $99 for no repair or $425 for repair

This company is ripping people off! They say it's okay to include rent, electricity, water, and other expenses in the price of a "capacitor." But come on, $372 for a $20 part? That's outrageous! I needed my AC fixed in the hot July weather in the Florida Keys, and they took advantage of that. The part they overcharged me for is the Dual Capacitor Turbo200 120/ 208/ 240/ *** I have attached the invoice to this complaint.

I hired Ellington to fix my unit and they failed to diagnose it. I called Ellington on Sunday to have my AC serviced. The tech showed up, opened my unit, and it was frozen up. The tech didn't do any testing to figure out what was going on with the unit. He started with a leak test, which showed that there was a leak. Come to find out, after they ordered an expensive part, the unit did not have a leak. The reason why the unit was freezing up and not cooling was because the blower motor failed on two speeds and needed to be replaced. I was without air conditioning for almost a week before I called the manufacturer of the unit, who gave me a local service provider who fixed the problem.
