Empower has been misleading me since February
Empower has been misleading me since February. The job ain't done yet. I'm not happy with their service. They promised to finish the work in a timely manner, but it's been months and I'm still waiting. They keep giving me excuses and pushing back the completion date. It's frustrating and disappointing. I trusted them to do a good job, but it seems like they don't care about their customers. I wouldn't recommend Empower to anyone looking for solar installation.

Empower Solar, Inc. is a total scam! The folks who try to sell you their products are nothing but a bunch of liars. We thought we would save money by installing their solar panels, but boy were we wrong. Our electricity bills have actually gone up since getting these panels. It's one big fat lie after another. I'm desperately searching for a way to get out of this mess. It's all a load of B.S.
I purchased a 6.3kwh system from Empower Solar, Inc
I purchased a 6.3kwh system from Empower Solar, Inc. in July. It was activated in September. It's been 6 months now, and unfortunately, my system only produces 4.4kwh and stays at that level consistently. On average, my solar production is 581kwh. Before installing the solar system, my monthly electricity usage in 2020 was over 800+kwh, and in 2021, before solar, it was over 900+kwh. Surprisingly, my electric bills have increased rather than decreased since installing the solar system. I have reached out to them for assistance in resolving the issue of low production, but they haven't been very helpful so far.
Terrible experiance
Terrible experiance. They lied to me and told me my house was compatible with solar. Its not. I would have to spend thousands of dollars to retrofit my current electric box. They also said I could cancel without penalty anytime before the installation. When I tried to cancel, they tried to hit me with a large cancellation fee. Worst sales experiance. They're a big scam. DO NOT engage with them.

I've had all the bad reviews I've read. I wanna sue Empower, anyone found a lawyer? We all need money for their no work ethics, from the dumb electricians and everyone they sent. Took like a year to get started. Hopefully the panels do what they said. We need a lawyer! I could keep talking, and I wrote everything down.

I got Solar Panels installed 9 months ago, and 8 out of 17 panels don't work. I don't think the system ever worked right. The year is almost over and I haven't seen any benefits from having Solar. I have to pay two bills, one to SCE and the other to Leader University Credit Union. I hate that I got into this deal. I feel like I have no protection as a consumer. I want to hire a Lawyer to get out of this deal. They haven't done what they promised. They have come to my house many times, but they can't fix the system. At the last minute, they changed the type of Solar Panels they were going to install, and getting good service is a joke. I don't want Solar Panels anymore, I want to give them back to SCE, even though I'm still paying them too. It's just really sad, bad business! Also, it's the same as Mr. Keith T. Read his complaint. Does anyone want to do a Class-Action lawsuit? Are there any lawyers who would take this case?

This has been a complete nightmare for my family. We had our solar panels installed on 12/31, and the customer service from Empower has been absolutely terrible. We've been billed for four months now, but we still haven't seen our panels in action. We're stuck paying two bills - one to Edison and one to the Loan company. This needs to be addressed immediately. We're sorry, but our patience is wearing thin, and if this isn't resolved soon, we'll have to take further action.
During our initial inspection in February , we didn't pass due to poor communication about the city inspector's visit. It took almost two months after installation for a new team to come and spend an entire day fixing and preparing for the second inspection. Two weeks later, a representative and inspector finally showed up, and it passed the visual inspection. However, the Solar Control unit wasn't working, and after a week of a blinking red light, a technician came out. They spent another day with tech services and, at the end of the day, delivered the bad news that they needed to replace the entire control panel on the side of our house. This happened on March 11th, and now it's March 23rd, with no call back, no response, and no solar panels. We're stuck paying two bills - one to Edison and one to our Loan company. If this problem continues, we'll have no choice but to take legal action.
DONT buy the solar system from Empower Solar
DONT buy the solar system from Empower Solar. Worst experience ever. Took 2 months to get the penal installed and another month to setup the first inspection. The final inspection was scheduled for the following week, then just 1 day before the scheduled final inspection date, they informed us they have to cancel the inspection and patch the stucco on the wall first (just like they didnt know it had to be done before scheduling the final inspection). Meanwhile, they notified the loan company stating the project is completed and we now have to start making payment for the Solar loan and Edison bills. Call them and told them the situation and they advised they cannot revert it and if we don't make the payment, it will hurt our credit. (sounds like a scam!) On the day that the guy was suppose to do the stucco, they called again saying the guy could not make it and to reschedule... then another 2 weeks... The guy finally came to do the stucco and done HALF of the work and gone. We called Empower to inform them the stucco is not complete for the final inspection and the response was dont worry about it, it will be done before the final inspection. Finally, the final inspection day (stucco still half completed) their technician came to check the work before the city inspector. The technician said the stucco not complete (obviously) and wires have not been connected for final inspection. Called the customer service and they just said will have the upper management to reach out about the whole situation. That have been said many time and we never got any management reaching out to us. It has been 6 MONTHS! and still dont know when this project can be done. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

We would never use Empower again or recommend them to anyone else. Our purchase order was made in November . It took longer than was promised to start the project and during this time, nobody contacted us. March 20th was the beginning of our install. We were informed that they did not have the battery one day before the installation, and it would be here in May. We decided to wait. They installed the panels on the roof and damaged about 15 of our roof tiles. We were told they would be replaced but never heard anything more until August when the problem was finally addressed. We called several times to inform about the problem and every single time, we have to explain what was going on. In July they sent an electrician to install the new electrical panel. A few days later a city inspector came to look at the work unannounced. He asked where the installer was and we informed him we did not know anything about the inspection. Twice a guy came to fix the stucco and we have had no idea he was coming. We were told our battery and controller were delayed due to supply issues and we would not receive them until May . We did not receive them until August . During the delay we contacted Empower numerous times and sometimes received no response or were promised a call back with no one returning the call. Communication is terrible with this company. In August they sent a crew to install the battery and controller. It took 2 days longer to install than the timeframe given by the scheduler. Normally this is not a big deal but come to find out later the battery was never connected. We continued to request the system to be completed and activated. We are still having lack of communication issues with Empower. They have also delayed repairing the stucco where the new panel was installed. A guy came and prepared the wall to be painted, they sent another guy to finish the service and he painted with a different finish, it looks really bad. The city inspector came 4 times already, he is watching my children grow up and the system is not finished. I could write more about the "novela" with this company, but in respect of this audience, we believe this in plenty. We are at the point where we are researching ways to have the system legally removed from our house so we can find a more reputable company to work with. For a family that did not want to pay a bill to Edson during this summer or never again, have the system not completed install by the end of October, feels terrible. Most of people we talked to were friendly, but they rarely call back when promised or complete the job in the time frame. Our advice: Run!

I need answers and for the project to be completed so we can start using the system. I paid $69000 (financed) for solar panels on 7/18/22. The contract was signed, and on 8/19/22, the solar panels were installed. They told me that the panels would be turned on within 2 weeks, and I wouldn't have to pay both PG&E and the panel finance payment at the same time. However, I got a letter from the finance company stating that the first payment is due 1 month after the panels are installed. It's been 4 weeks since the panels were installed, and they still haven't been turned on. The local manager promised to send me a $5000 check by the week of 8/22/22, but I haven't received anything. He keeps changing his story about the check and when the panels will be turned on.

I bought solar from Empower Solar, Inc. in June 2022. It's been 4 months, but my solar system is still not activated. I'm stuck paying for both the solar mortgage and my electric bill. They've scheduled appointments for installation or inspection at least 5 times, but they never showed up. This caused me to lose a lot of wages and forced me to pay double for electricity. It seems like this is a recurring issue for Empower Solar. It's disrespectful to make appointments and not follow through, and then they have the audacity to call me and rudely say it was out of their control. That's not how you run a business. I want compensation for the time I'll be paying for both the solar mortgage and electric bill, at the very least. I demand to speak to one of their senior leaders, not some office clerk who just apologizes and says they can't help me.

This company was supposed to install solar panels on my roof on June 22nd. I called when nobody showed. They rescheduled. I have been told it would take 7 to 10 business days to have an inspection. It has been 18 business days and I still do not have an inspection scheduled. Every time I call for information I just keep getting the runaround and excuses as to why nothing has happened. The account manager is blaming everybody else for not contacting me. All I have been asking for is communication about the project. At this point, I want the company to come take down the solar panels and leave me alone. I do not trust the company because of their failure. I do not want to do business with the company that I have no trust with. Their communication is awful and I'm tired of having to chase them down for any type of information. Although I'm calling and emailing regularly, I'm never given any updates about the completion of my job yet they want me to sign the paperwork saying they finished.

This company is so bad at their job. They put my solar panels on the wrong side of my house on 9/11. They did fix it eventually, but my shingles still need to be fixed. Every step of the way, something has gone wrong. One day, the power company came to cut my power so the solar company could do their work. But the electrician never showed up, and MID almost cut my power for no reason. The people on the phone always give me wrong or incomplete information. My final inspection was supposed to be today, 12/11. But they didn't do it because they forgot to put a breaker in the box. Now I have to reschedule again. I've lost money because I've had to pay for electricity when my solar system should have been working and I shouldn't have to pay the electric bill for the rest of the year. The year is almost over now. This company has already been paid through my contract, but they keep messing up. If it wasn't in the contract, I wouldn't pay them at all.

I took out a loan for $36,300 to pay for the service, and the monthly fee is $175, which is supposed to replace my electricity bill. They said the service would start in August , and I would start paying a lower amount than my regular electricity bill. But for some reason, Empower told the loan company that the project was already done in October, even though it wasn't even close to being finished. Sometimes the customer service would schedule the service, but often nobody would show up or call to let me know. I would have to call them, and they would make excuses about why the technician couldn't make it or why the previous technician didn't finish the job. Every time I called, they would say they needed to check with the crew but never got back to me with updates. It's really hard to reach the management to escalate the issue. The final inspection was supposed to be on 12/14, but they rescheduled it to 01/04/22 because they said the city inspector was off for the holidays in December. I'm not even sure if that's true. Today is 01/06/22, and nobody came or called about the appointment on 01/04/22. I want to cancel the contract and have the solar panel removed if the service can't start by the end of January. And if they can finish the project within January, I want to be reimbursed for my electricity bill from August to January 2022.
