I hit up RMS&W coz they put in a solar array on a place I bought
I hit up RMS&W coz they put in a solar array on a place I bought. Camille helped me switch ownership and then we found out 8 micro-inverters needed replacing, all under Enphase warranty. We started sorting it in May and got 4 micro-inverters shipped from Enphase on May 18th. In July and August, I got switched to Robin and she said she was working with Enphase to get the other 4 micro-inverters. End of Aug, Robin said they had the other 4 and needed to talk to Mr. Lotus about scheduling the install. Sept 18th, I signed a doc to okay the work, which only had the hourly cost, including drive time. I asked for estimates for the repair work but was told best guess was 4-6 hours, maybe. On Sept 18th, I was told Mr. Lotus realized they needed a special tool and had to order it. Ryan tried to schedule for the week of Sept 21st but it got cancelled. Josh tried for the week of Oct 28th but that got cancelled too. Same thing happened for Oct 6th. They said they'd try for next week or the week after. I've been waiting for ages and I'm over it. I don't trust this company to make appointments.
our experience with Rocky Mountain Solar & Wind Inc was not great
our experience with Rocky Mountain Solar & Wind Inc was not great. We signed up with them in July for an 18-panel solar system. The sales rep, Camille, was nice and seemed to know what she was talking about. But when the workers came in August to install the panels, they said there was a mistake and they couldn't install them as planned. They said the 18 panels wouldn't produce 105%, which was promised. I asked for another panel to compensate, but they wanted me to pay for it. Camille eventually agreed to pay for it since it was her mistake.
During the installation, there were many mistakes. On the first day, they asked if I wanted the pipes and wires to run on the roof or under it. I said under, but they did it on top. When I complained, the foreman, Ryan, said I had too much insulation in the roof. I didn't believe him, so the boss, Lotus, had to come and show Ryan how to do it. They had to undo and redo it. Then the pipe coming from the roof to the solar box on the outside wall was mounted at an angle instead of flush to the wall. They had to undo and redo it again.
The boss also said we had to get rid of a closet to install the new electrical panel. We didn't want him to touch the custom-made closet, but he started taking things out of it anyway. We had a huge argument, but it turned out that the electrician said everything was fine and we didn't need to get rid of the closet. The electrician failed inspection three times, and we had to get a new one for the fourth time.
The bars on which the panels rested were also put out of alignment, so they had to come back and recut them. The boss wanted his employees to put critter guards on, but they agreed with me that it was the last step of the installation. I had a huge argument with Lotus on the phone, and he said he was the boss and could do what he wanted. This was in contradiction with what was promised upfront. Overall, it was a frustrating experience.
Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind is not good at customer service
Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind is not good at customer service. They said they would come between 11:00 and 12:00, but they came after 2:30 without calling. The owner lost the paperwork, so I had to do it again a month later. They only did part of the install and then moved on to another job. They kept canceling and said it was because they lost qualified employees. The owner fired the installation team and did it himself. It took over 6 weeks to finish the 10-panel install. The office manager was helpful, but the owner kept making excuses. They left ladders on my roof and drove on my front yard without asking. I paid $2000 of the $3000 cost and told the owner to come get the ladders. I was going to pay someone else to finish the install, but the owner said I was stealing $1000 and threatened to take me to court. He talked about Karma and a shiny penny.
