English Elm Refund scammers

After ordering 6 chairs from the website we decided they were not going to work. We didn't even open the boxes the chairs were shipped in. Filed a return, paid to ship the chairs back, and had confirmation the chairs arrived back at the warehouse. After waiting several weeks for a return and not receiving one I reached out to english elm. Andrew from customer service finally responds to inform me they would not issue a refund and sent a pic of scratches on a chair back. We didn't even open these boxes. And this was an order of 6 chairs. This company has no integrity and will rip you off. Beware of english elm!

Recommendation: Only order if you know for sure you won't be returning

English Elm Dissappointed shopper

Product was not as pictured. We tried to return it, only to be told they don't cover shipping for their returns and have a restocking fee. Cost of return shipping and restocking was same as product.

Terrible customer service was totally unhelpful, and it feels borderline extortionate dealing with a company. Hope they go out of business soon to save other potential customers from being dissappointed.

English Elm Disappointing Experience with English Elm for Greenington Furniture Media Center; Old Bones Co. Came to the Rescue

Purchasing the Order of the Rowan Jr media center from Greenington Furniture through English Elm was an experience filled with numerous frustrations. Unfortunately, there were problems with the availability of the product style I had chosen, which caused multiple issues with my order status. Eventually, I had to take matters into my own hands and connect with the manufacturer to locate the specific style and configuration I wanted. Sadly, English Elm was lacking in proactive problem solving, which was disappointing.

After finally placing my order, I expected the lead time for delivery to be approximately 3-4 weeks. However, on week five, I received a surprising message from English Elm via email, informing me that my order was canceled with no explanation. Understandably, I was confused and frustrated, and immediately decided to follow-up with both English Elm and Greenington Furniture for clarification.

It wasn't until six more emails later that I learned the item was, in fact, available and ready to ship from the manufacturer warehouse. I was left feeling disappointed, as English Elm had not taken the time to clarify this information earlier, despite my efforts to communicate with them. To make matters worse, English Elm was unresponsive to my follow-up emails, except for suggesting that I should re-order the item and have it placed on backorder. Overall, this experience was incredibly stressful and proved to be a hassle that could have been avoided altogether.

Thankfully, I found another vendor who provided me with a superb shopping experience. Old Bones Co. was exceptionally speedy, responsive, and communicative throughout the entire process. They exceeded my expectations, especially in areas where English Elm had failed. I would definitely recommend Old Bones Co. for all your furniture needs.

English Elm Beware of English Elm: Poor Quality and Unprofessional Customer Service

As a fellow consumer, I must warn against making any purchases from English Elm. The quality of their products and customer service is deeply concerning. After purchasing a sofa less than two weeks ago, I discovered that it came with flaws that were clearly not part of the design - with what looks like paint residue on the fabric. The markings have a unique texture and gold color, making it stand out from the rest of the sofa. To my surprise, the bracket underneath the sofa was also broken.

I immediately notified the claims department, providing them with photographic evidence of the defects. However, to my dismay, English Elm has been dragging their feet in processing my claim. Despite concrete proof of the flaws, they have suggested that the residue on the couch is normal, and that the customer's complaint is unreasonable. This is simply unacceptable, considering that the sofa is less than two weeks old.

What's more, they have offered to send me a new sofa to replace the flawed one. This is not only inconvenient but wholly unsuitable. This sofa was supposed to be of high-quality, and yet it's disappointing to find that it failed to meet these standards. English Elm's customer service team is unprofessional, unaccommodating and unreasonable, as evidenced by their treatment of my claim.

On their website, they proudly boast of their "no-hassle return policy," which is evidently untrue. I only wish I had seen the Better Business complaints lodged against the company earlier. Their poor practices and ineptitude have caused me distress and regret in my purchase decision. Save yourself the hassle and do not make any purchases with English Elm.

English Elm Avoid English Elm: Poor Customer Service and Possible Scam

My experience with English Elm (englishelm.com) left a lot to be desired. After placing an order for furniture, I never received an order number and attempts to contact them were frustrating as there was no phone number to reach out to. Upon researching the company, I discovered that there were numerous other customers who were dissatisfied with their experience. Thankfully, I was able to contact my bank and have the charges reversed.

To my surprise, English Elm began calling me daily insisting that it was too late to cancel the order and even offering me a 20% discount if I cleared it with my bank. However, after the poor experience I had already encountered with this company, I was no longer interested in doing business with them. Instead, I chose to purchase my furniture from a different company that I thoroughly checked out first. While it was more expensive, I believed it was worth paying extra to avoid the headache I experienced with English Elm.

Unfortunately, three weeks later, my bank took the 6211 back out of my account claiming that English Elm had delivered the furniture. But how could they have delivered something that I never received? I asked for proof of delivery such as my signature, a picture or even the exact date of delivery so I could check my home camera, but they couldn't provide any of these. This led me to believe that they were nothing but a big scam and I was left out of pocket for over 6211.

I am extremely disappointed with this company and would rate them 0 if I could. It's frustrating that they make you choose a star rating before submitting a review because they don't deserve any stars. If anyone from the media is reading this, I would appreciate it if you contacted me, as I believe that other customers need to be aware of the terrible experience I had with English Elm.

English Elm Disappointing Experience with English Elm: Broken Furniture and Lack of Customer Service

I was so excited to have ordered the stunning Tommy Bahama Kingstown Regiment Huntboard from English Elm's online store. They promised delivery within 8 to 13 business days and I eagerly awaited the arrival of my new piece of furniture. Unfortunately, I received a very damaged looking box almost two months later in my foyer. The delivery driver explained that the box had been opened by the warehouse staff to inspect its contents. I was horrified to find that my beautiful buffet was not only broken across the front but also showed small nail marks from a previous repair. It was a $2,000 piece of furniture that had been broken and repaired again.
I promptly contacted English Elm with photos of the damage and requested help in removing the package and furniture from my foyer as I had guests arriving within five days. Andrew N. advised me against removing anything and to wait for their reply. Five days later, the furniture and packaging remain scattered in my foyer as I have not heard back from English Elm.
I am completely disappointed with my experience with English Elm and strongly advise other customers to steer clear of this shady operation. They have failed to deliver on their promise of quality and have ignored my requests for assistance. I will never do business with them again!

English Elm Terrible shopping experience with English Elm: Damaged nightstands and poor customer service

English Elm, unfortunately, provided a terrible shopping experience for me. Initially, I was interested in purchasing two nightstands that I fell in love with based on their website images. However, shortly after ordering them, I received an email stating that they were out-of-stock. To my disappointment, I had to wait for 1.5 months before finally receiving them. I was initially taken aback when I noticed that one of them was so severely damaged that it was basically just pieces of wood scattered throughout the box, and I could not remove it from the packaging. The second nightstand was cracked all over its sides- making me question the quality of their products.

To address the issue, I immediately reached out to their claims department, but I was met with horrible service from a staff member named Andrew, who made the situation so frustrating for me. Instead of following their policy that states they will cover return shipping if a product is damaged, Andrew was reluctant to provide me with two shipping labels- despite me providing evidence of the damage to both nightstands. Making matter worse, I later discovered that replacement nightstands were out-of-stock at the time.

The whole experience has been a nightmare for me, and I have tried to reach out to them via various channels such as calls and voicemails- sadly, they do not pick up their phone nor return calls. As it stands, I am still trying to figure out how to get the issue resolved, and several months have gone by without any progress. At this point, I would not recommend anyone order from English Elm, as the quality of their products is questionable, and their customer service is lacking. English Elm Terrible Experience with English Elm: Unprofessional Customer Service and Unfulfilled Shipping Promise

I recently had a terrible experience with English Elm, and I feel like it's really important to share my story so that other potential customers don't fall into the same trap. I ordered something from their website and received a confirmation email saying that I would receive shipping and tracking information shortly. However, I never received anything despite waiting for quite some time, and I started to feel uneasy about the whole thing. Eventually, I decided to cancel my order and checked the company's website to see if that was possible. According to their policy, cancellations could be made with a full refund up until the point of shipping, and I hadn't received any notifications indicating that my item had been shipped.

I sent English Elm an email explaining that I wished to cancel my order and get a full refund in accordance with their stated policy. However, the next morning, I received an email back from them claiming that it was already too late to cancel because my order had already been shipped out. I knew this couldn't be true because they had literally just provided me with a tracking number in their response, which meant that they had only just created the shipping label.

To make matters worse, the customer service representative who responded to my email, Andrew N, was incredibly rude and dismissive. It was clear that he had no interest in helping me or addressing my concerns, and he even seemed to be enjoying the fact that I was upset. I was utterly disgusted by his behavior and couldn't believe how unprofessional and unethical this company was.

Ultimately, I was able to get my money back thanks to my credit card company, but it was a huge hassle and a huge waste of my time. I strongly advise anyone considering buying from English Elm to steer clear. They are liars and cheats who would rather take your money than provide you with a quality product or a positive customer service experience. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your shopping needs.

English Elm Unfair Shipping Policies and Lack of Transparency - My Experience with Truth in Craft

The experience I had with this particular company was less than satisfactory due to their less than transparent business practices. There were various business names under which they operated, which made it challenging to find information about them when encountering issues like the one I faced. This became apparent after I came across different complaints on the complaintsboard.com website, yet they all had the same proprietor and address (Truth in Craft based in Chicago).

As a dissatisfied customer, my issue stemmed from their unfair shipping policies, which meant that after receiving a broken lamp, I was required to pay the return shipping costs and reimburse them for the free shipping I received when I initially received the defective lamp. I believe this is entirely unjust, as it should not be the responsibility of the customer to incur additional costs due to a faulty product. Although they offered a replacement, I found the fact that they initially ignored my request to have the item returned unacceptable.

Although I had taken photographs of the broken lamp per their request, they still failed to comprehend my sentiment that I did not want the lamp at all. I had to explain myself over and over again, but they still didn't seem to listen. I was disappointed at their lack of flexibility and empathy towards my issue and, as a result, vow never to do business with them or any of their associated companies.

Therefore, for anyone that plans to transact with this company or their affiliates, I would advise you to be wary and carry out due diligence before making any purchases. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

English Elm English Elm Furniture Company: A Customer Service Disaster

English Elm is a furniture company that specializes in backorder items. Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been far from pleasant. I placed an order for two Remark Gray Chairs with a total cost of $842.50 on April 23, 2021. However, immediately after placing the order, I received an email stating that the items were on backorder until August or September 2021.

To my disappointment, on September 23, 2021, I only received one chair out of the two ordered. Furthermore, the company's customer service informed me that I would have to wait until August or September 2022 for the second chair. I was not willing to wait for another year, and I strongly believe that no consumer should be expected to do so.

It took me a long time, since receiving the chair, to get half credit back on the money the company had held since April 23, 2021. The process was tedious and tiring, and I had to pay $75.00 to prepare the chair for pickup by a promised warehouse truck. However, the company went back on their word and emailed me a FedEx label to arrange my own pickup. This is unacceptable, and I believe English Elm has failed to deliver real customer service.

The self-service call center did not care about my concerns and informed me that I had to arrange the pickup myself. This is not how customer service should work, and I feel that English Elm should be shut down. I would advise everyone to save their time, money, and energy dealing with them. They are not worth the trouble.

I have no photos to upload because the single chair is still in the box, waiting to be returned. Moreover, I had to involve my bank and spend hours emailing them to expose them. English Elm has taken my money and has provided no satisfactory service. I had to fight long and hard to get a partial refund, and I will continue to do so until I receive a full refund.

I requested a warehouse pickup to ensure the safe return of the chair, but unfortunately, the company's policies did not allow for that. Now, placing the chair in the custody of FedEx is a huge risk. I also empathize with other consumers who have had similar experiences with this company. They deserve better, and I believe that English Elm should be held accountable for their poor customer service.

Overall, my experience with English Elm has been nothing short of a disaster. It has cost me my health and my time, and I cannot emphasize enough how much I regret ever doing business with them. I hope no one has to go through the same ordeal, and I advise everyone to steer clear of this company.

I recently made a purchase from English Elm, an online retailer, in late February or early March. The website indicated that the product was available, so I placed my order, but I was disappointed to receive no notification that it was backordered. I patiently waited for shipping information, yet it never arrived. I reached out to customer service for clarity on the hold-up and a possible ETA for my order, but they claimed to have tried to contact me previously without success. I checked my spam folder and found no correspondence indicating that they even made an attempt to reach out.

To my great chagrin, their next action was to cancel my order without my consent. When I inquired about the status of my order and the ETA as initially requested, I was finally given a date - the beginning to end of April. I wholeheartedly agreed to wait until that date for my order. But when April rolled around, I hadn't heard anything from the company at all. So, taking the initiative, I reached out to them for an update. I was appalled to learn that the ETA had been pushed back to mid-May! Why didn't they reach out to me to share this news? I felt rather like I was being left in the lurch and neglected by the company. It would seem that when I reached out to ask, they were more than happy to cancel my order, without a thought about how eager I was to receive it.

After several unproductive email exchanges with customer service, I felt they were distant, uninvolved and lacking empathy for the inconvenience this issue had caused me. In each email communication, they continuously insisted that I cancel my order. Their attitude seemed entirely uninterested in keeping my business, even though I was eager to receive their product. Maybe it's just me, but most businesses would make every effort to ensure a customer has a positive experience - this was most definitely not the case with this purchase.

The emails themselves appeared to be composed by someone either brainless or just using an automatic response. They lacked the courtesy of a person responsible for keeping customers informed and reassured as their orders reached deadlines. I made the decision to advise others not to patronize this company; the customer service and quality of service are a headache, both figuratively and literally. If you're looking to shop for similar quality or products, I recommend trying Target, or even All Modern. There, I found the same product - amazingly enough - and at a cheaper price than English Elm offered. Save yourself the trouble and spare yourself the poor customer service, skip English Elm.

English Elm English Elm Review: Frustrating Experience with Delays and Poor Communication

I recently had an experience with English Elm that left me disappointed and frustrated. I came across their website and found a comforter set that I absolutely fell in love with. I was thrilled to see that it was in stock and immediately placed my order on September 5th. However, my excitement was short-lived as on September 7th, I received an email stating that the item was no longer in stock and that it was expected to arrive at the manufacturer's warehouse on or around September 14th. Unfortunately, I did not receive any further details on shipping at that time.

As the 20th of September approached, I began to feel anxious and decided to reach out to English Elm for an update on my order. The following day, on September 21st, I received a reply stating that my order would be shipping "VERY SOON." However, this response only added to my confusion and frustration as I still did not have any concrete information on when to expect my order. After a few more days passed, I replied back asking for clarification on their definition of "VERY SOON." Much to my disappointment, I was informed that my order would only be shipped "within the next week or two."

At this point, it was already September 25th, and my order was initially supposed to be shipped on or around September 14th. I was feeling increasingly frustrated and decided to request a manager's phone number and an explanation as to why there was such a significant delay. However, instead of providing me with a phone number, I was informed that they did not have control over the manufacturer's timeframe. While I understand that delays can happen, it would have been helpful to receive an email notifying me of the extended delivery date.

To make matters worse, I started to see negative reviews online about English Elm's quality of service, and I began to doubt the status of my order. I had my doubts that they might have given my order away to another customer, and it was now evident to me that the associate I had been communicating with did not seem to know what she was doing. I was looking forward to receiving my order, but the lack of communication and transparency left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.

My frustration reached a boiling point when I received an email from English Elm stating that they had cancelled my order - this was after I had let them know that I still wanted to keep my order despite the delays. It was clear that communication was not their strongest suit.

If you're considering ordering from English Elm, make sure you're aware of the potential delays and keep an eye on their communication. While I was ultimately disappointed with my experience, you may have a different one. Nonetheless, their lack of communication and confusing messages left me feeling like I was just a number to them, and they had little regard for my experience as a customer.

I am not going to list my bank account on line. Look thru your records to find invoice for headboard which was cancelled on August 8 th without contacting me why this occurred. Call me at [protected] with explanation of why this happened and refund my money back to my account. Number [protected] . I did not cancel this item so explain to me how this occurred.

English Elm Poor Customer Service Experience with English Elm: Delayed Shipment and Unresponsive Attitude

Upon browsing the website of English Elm (englishelm.com), I came across their selection of chairs and decided to purchase three on May 8th. However, it wasn't until May 12th that the chairs were shipped, prompting me to reach out to the company for an update. Unfortunately, their customer service team seemed unresponsive and unhelpful, stating that they didn't understand my query despite having my order information on hand. This was understandably frustrating, and it became worse when I was told that the chairs would not be shipped until May 28th without any prior notification or reminder.

Sadly, I felt that their service attitude was quite poor and unprofessional, and when I asked for a refund and to cancel my order, I didn't receive any response. It's a shame because it seems that some positive reviews of the company may be fake or misleading, and ultimately, I believe that good service is crucial for customers to trust and invest in a business. In America, I have never encountered such terrible service, and I cannot recommend English Elm based on my experience.

As a concerned customer, I would like to shed some light on my recent experience with English Elm. I purchased a couch on sale from their website, englishelm.com, and received an email stating that the product was out of stock and would not be available until seven months later. However, to my surprise, the product was still listed and available for purchase on their website and other websites.
Upon contacting their customer service department, I received a response from an unnamed representative stating that they do not have manpower to update availability for over 300,000 skus on their website. They also mentioned that they ship directly from the manufacturer and stock is constantly changing, which makes it difficult to mimic real-time inventory.
As a consumer, this experience has been quite disappointing. I spent $1,000 on a couch that was not even in stock and the company cannot even keep their website up to date with accurate stock levels. It is frustrating to see a legitimate business neglecting such an important aspect of their operations. I am hopeful that I will receive a timely refund for my purchase.
In conclusion, I advise other consumers to be cautious when dealing with English Elm and to thoroughly investigate their stock levels before making a purchase.

English Elm Disappointing customer service experience with English Elm

I recently had an experience with English Elm, a website that sells various items, and unfortunately, it was not a positive one. I had placed an order but ended up needing to cancel it prior to shipping, so I reached out via email and attempted to contact customer service over the phone. Unfortunately, I received no response from either avenue for three days, which left me feeling quite frustrated.

After following up with another email to ensure that my cancellation request had been received, I finally received a response from English Elm's team within 12 hours. They assured me they would cancel the order and make sure it didn't ship out. However, despite these assurances, the item was still shipped out eight hours later, four whole days after my initial cancellation request. When I reached out to inquire about what had gone wrong, the team simply apologized and told me it was too late to cancel.

To add insult to injury, they are now refusing to reroute the package back to their warehouse and insisting that if I refuse to accept the delivery, they will charge me $140 for return shipping for an item that cost $220 in the first place. I have been left waiting for over 24-48 hours for responses to my emails, and it feels like I am not even speaking with real humans given the lack of personal interaction and absence of email signatures.

All in all, my experience with English Elm has been quite frustrating and has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I would have appreciated more timely and effective communication from their customer service team and a greater willingness to work with me to resolve the issue at hand.

English Elm Unfortunate Experience with English Elm: Beware of Customer Service

I recently had an unfortunate experience with an online retailer called English Elm, and I feel it's important to share my story. While attempting to track my order, I was initially presented with incorrect tracking information. English Elm Unreliable Delivery and Lack of Transparency: My Experience with English Elm

My experience with English Elm (englishelm.com) was disappointing to say the least. After paying over $1000 for a coffee table, I was let down by their reneged delivery date. The website lacked full disclosure of policies and delivery dates, leaving me confused and uncertain about when I could expect my purchase to arrive. The EE staff provided me with a misleading/incorrect date of delivery, which added to the frustration.

When I contacted English Elm about the whereabouts of my table after payment in full, they told me it would arrive in August. However, I later discovered that the product was "out of stock" and I was given the option to hold my funds until "possibly some time in November." This left me questioning whether the products that English Elm offers online are truly available or not.

In my opinion, English Elm expects customers to pay extra money for the "opportunity to get delivery" 4 months after the initially stated date, while they take on other customers who pay for the same item. This is unacceptable and a poor way to treat their customers who have already paid a significant amount for their products.

I would advise others to be more cautious of English Elm's procedures and lack of transparency. In the future, I will think twice before making a purchase with them again.

English Elm English Elm Review: Beautiful Furniture, But Poor Customer Service and Long Delays

English Elm is an online furniture retailer that is known for its exquisite craftsmanship, stylish designs, and affordable prices. However, my recent experience with the company was nothing short of disappointing.

I had decided to purchase a bed from English Elm after browsing their website and finding a design that I absolutely fell in love with. The website indicated that the bed was "in stock", so I proceeded to place my order with excitement. However, I soon discovered that this was not entirely accurate.

After several weeks had gone by without any update about my shipment, I began to grow concerned. I received a few emails from the company stating that my bed was going to be shipped soon and that I needed to "reserve my spot" on the next shipment. However, every time I received one of these emails, my shipment was delayed once again, causing me more frustration.

Finally, my bed arrived, but my excitement quickly turned to dismay when I discovered that the headboard was completely broken. To make matters worse, the bed's base was severely scratched, making it an eyesore in my otherwise beautiful bedroom.

Naturally, I contacted English Elm's customer service team to report the issue and ask for a solution. They said that they could send me a new headboard, but it would take a whopping 2 months for it to arrive! Frustrated with this answer, I asked if I could instead receive a partial refund of $200, which I felt was reasonable considering the damages to the bed. However, they refused, leaving me feeling upset and unsatisfied with their customer service.

All in all, I cannot recommend English Elm after this poor experience. While their furniture designs might be pleasing to the eye, the poor communication, extended delays, and unhelpful customer service leave much to be desired. If you are in need of affordable furniture quickly, I would suggest checking out Wayfair instead, as their customer service is far superior.

English Elm English Elm's Dishonest Business Practices: A Frustrating Experience

I recently had a frustrating experience with English Elm, an online retailer known for its furniture and decor items. I ordered a beautiful vanity from their website, but unfortunately I had to cancel my order a day and a half later due to some unforeseen circumstances. According to their cancellation policy, if the item has not been shipped yet, I am entitled to a full refund. I checked my order status and it showed that it had not been shipped yet, so I promptly sent an email to request cancellation.

However, things took a turn for the worse when I received a reply the following day stating that the item had already been shipped and as a result, they could no longer cancel my order. I was given a tracking number but I checked my email and did not see any communication from them regarding the shipment. Moreover, their website still showed that the item had not been shipped. It was all very confusing and worrying.

When I checked the tracking information provided to me, it showed that the FedEx delivery was still pending. The label had been created, and the shipping information had been created as well, but the courier had not received the item. A week had passed, and there still had been no update on the status of my order. I tried to reach out to English Elm’s customer service team to resolve the matter, but to no avail. They refused to cancel my order, and unfortunately, I must say that Andrew N. and Doreen, who claim to be the representatives of the company, were quite dishonest and unresponsive in dealing with my concerns.

Based on this experience, I must say that my impression of English Elm as a company has been quite negatively affected. It is truly disappointing to see an online retailer with so much potential resort to such dishonest business practices. I urge everyone to think twice before making any purchases from English Elm as their products may not live up to their advertised quality and craftsmanship.

English Elm Disappointed with English Elm: A cautionary tale about their online store

I had a very disappointing experience with English Elm, specifically their online store, EnglishElm.com. I had recently decided to purchase 20 barstools for my restaurant and opted to place my order through their website. Initially, I was excited to receive my order and waited patiently for 3 months until the delivery finally arrived. However, upon unboxing the barstools, I discovered that they were all defective.

Each stool came in two pieces, a seat, and a base. Unfortunately, the wooden pieces on the barstool seat were over 1" off from the metal base, making it impossible to connect them via screws for assembly. I was unable to assemble even one stool due to the misaligned parts. Determined to rectify the issue, I contacted English Elm immediately to report the problem with photo evidence.

To my dismay, their response was very disappointing. They claimed to not see how the stools were defective even after I had provided photographic proof of the misaligned parts. I documented each stool base seat in a photo, which clearly showed that they did not line up, and it was impossible to meet together. Despite this, English Elm still cooly replied that they could not acknowledge my claim and blamed the manufacturer.

After numerous attempts, I felt utterly discouraged by their lack of concern for my situation. As a businessperson, I believe in the importance of working with reputable companies that value customer satisfaction. I regretted my decision to purchase from English Elm and promised to do more research in the future before placing my orders. My experience was a harsh lesson not to repeat in the future.

Therefore, I strongly advise potential buyers to be careful in conducting their due diligence before deciding to do business with this company. Based on my experience, English Elm may not be the best option if you are looking for quality, hassle-free purchases.

English Elm Unreliable Shipping and Poor Communication - My Experience with English Elm

I recently had an experience with English Elm (englishelm.com) and unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. While the product itself was of good quality and met my deadline, the shipping process was a complete disaster. The company they use to ship products is unreliable and unprofessional. When my package arrived, the box was completely destroyed and torn apart. It was so bad that the delivery person had difficulty bringing it inside my house. Instead, he had to carry each piece of my table inside separately while the box lay in my front yard.

To make matters worse, I was unable to get in touch with anyone via phone. All communication was done through email, which led to a lengthy and frustrating exchange. Although the company would tell me what I wanted to hear, I felt like nothing was getting accomplished. There was no one to provide troubleshooting, advice or any assistance of any kind. This was a stressful experience as I was worried that any damage to my table would go unnoticed or unaddressed. Furthermore, if there were to be any damages upon arrival, I would still have to pay to return it. It was even more concerning to know that if I refused the delivery (which was tempting due to the state of the package), I would be charged a refusal fee!

I am disappointed in this experience and would caution others to be careful before ordering with this company. The stress and potential for loss is not worth the risk. In the future, I will stick with known companies who back up their stuff, both in terms of quality of product and reliability of shipping. It is always important to do your research before making any significant purchases. Although I tried to upload photos of the damaged package, it seems that it's not possible at this time.

English Elm Unresponsive Customer Service and Back-Order Issue: My Experience with English Elm Furniture

English Elm's website offered quite an extensive collection of furniture and home décor. I was particularly interested in purchasing an ottoman from their website. Unfortunately, after purchasing the item, I found out that it was actually back-ordered and out of stock everywhere else. However, the website did not indicate this, but I decided to proceed with the purchase anyways. After receiving a confirmation email from the company, I didn't hear anything else from them for the next three days.

Eventually, I received an email from English Elm stating that they didn't have the product in stock and were not expected to receive any new shipment until August. The company then offered to put me on a wait list. The proposed wait-period was totally unacceptable for me; it's unreasonable and unprofessional to make a customer wait for almost half a year after they have already placed an order. Nonetheless, I decided to reach out to the company customer service representative through their phone line. However, I was unable to get through to anyone, and my calls were never returned.

I had to resort to sending an email to cancel my order. Fortunately, I received a refund a few days later, which was a relief. But my experience with the company was rather unpleasant. If you're considering purchasing anything from English Elm, it's essential that you verify if they have the item in stock before placing an order. Or, you may end up being disappointed like I was. Although the company refunded my money, the long wait, unresponsive customer service, and lack of transparency in their website left me feeling dissatisfied.
