When booking in Munich 19 Dec 2023 Mietvertrag N° [protected] / Res. N° [protected] we have twice received cars that do not meet the requirements for driving on public roads. The complaint with pictures and Europcar contracts have been forwarded.
- A car with a completely destroyed mirror - see photo and contract. We refused it for road safety reasons because it put our lives in danger.
- a second car with the passenger seats removed from the rails and with the clamping system displaced, forced and impossible to assemble back on the rails. In the event of a brake all the passengers in the rear seats were life-threatening. See photo and contract. The car was replaced by a third car.
We spent 2 hours to get the car from your company.
The findings were confirmed by Frontdesk staff and they said it was the fault of the technical inspection and maintenance service.
- When we returned the car, the lady who checked the car said that everything was ok but she ticked YES for accidents and third party involvement in the report. We went to your office to present this situation and were told that this problem happens frequently.
All the Europcar services were disastrous even though the staff at the counter struggled to find a solution.
We ask for 50% compensation of the car rental costs and we reserve the right to pass on the situation encountered with Europcar to the German authorities.
Desired outcome: 50 % compensation of costs of services.
