I have an issue and they are not responding
I have sent in a request for reimbursement for a renter caused ticket. Terrible customer service, I am going to try renting my car on Turo instead.
Theives
I thought everything was good (not great but decent) until two weeks later they used my bank details to take ?100 above the agreed payment. Now I can't get anyone to talk to me about the matter or to reimburse me.
Very very dodgy.
The worst company Bad service
Bad serviceWorst company I rent it for two months and I've been paying tolls every two weeks Around 250and after I stop for three months do you send me another bill for $1000 tolls and you've been playing with people account and Take in the money I believe that's fraud
Great idea, failed execution
I love the car sharing idea and through platform created by Get around, but the App is always delayed, slow, messed up (which is the only way you can book, open a car door or frankly, do anything). Customer Service is NON-EXISTENT! You can only can help during an active reservation, that's if you get the app to work to make a reservation. Sadly, Getaround has wasted a lot of my time! I'm going back to Zipcar until they work out the kinks.
Getaround won't reimburse your expenses
Getaround's business model is to take a percentage of your rental fees, and then stick you with all of the business expenses including repairs and parking tickets that were incurred during a rental. They'll act like your partner until something has to be paid for, and it definitely won't be them.
I put my car for loan on Getaround's platform for about a year from 2019 to 2020. During that time I incurred expenses that Getaround agrees to reimburse in their terms of service, but in the end they refused and I ended up losing a lot of money.
Collision: In early 2020 my vehicle was involved in a collision while it was being rented. Repairs ended up costing me $536. Getaround used their own estimate to determine the cost of repairs and paid me only $416. So I had to pay over $100 for that.
Parking Tickets: In 2020 I discovered my vehicle had $481 in parking tickets and late fees that were incurred while being rented. Getaround paid only $125 and refused to pay the remaining $356 that is owed. So I had to pay over $350 for that.
Control Device: When I wanted to take my vehicle off the Getaround platform, Getaround was unable to send someone to remove their control device from the vehicle because of the pandemic. I had it removed at my dealer at a cost of $61. I understand about the pandemic but this is still Getaround's responsibility. They threatened a large fine if I didn't return the device. So I had to pay over $60 for that.
In the end these expenses that Getaround refused to reimburse were too high and I was losing money month to month. Working with Getaround was not worth the time, money, or frustration.
HORRIBLE!
HORRIBLE! I wish I had seen these reviews before renting with them. Besides the high prices and toll charges, these people have filed 2 separate claims on me for 2 vehicles that BOTH HAD FLAT TIRES?! In the first case, I contacted Getaround and told them of the issue. I even sent photos. The car was dirty, had a "check engine" light on, the tire went flat, AND THERE WAS NO SPARE TIRE! Never heard anything back. For the 2nd vehicle, which I only rented for 2 days, believe it or not, it also had a flat tire. It seems like the owners are not being held accountable for maintenance on these cars, and Getaround is just letting them be rented out. There is no way I will be paying a $600 claim for a 2 day rental that had a flat tire. This company doesn't know what they're doing. Their customer service team apparently does not communicate with each other, because I had submitted various requests and called several times regarding these cars. It seems the information I gave them was not recorded. Such a nightmare to deal with, if I have to take them to court I will.
Terrible customer service. Personnel are not trained. It's like pulling teeth to get a refund.
Absolute worst experience with a car-sharing company
Absolute worst experience with a car-sharing company. I used GetAround a couple of times before with no issues. On May 2, I rented a heavily damaged Toyota Corolla. The front and back bumpers were damaged, the inside was full of dirt and trash from the previous renter, the check engine light was on, the radio did not work (software issue error), the car was also not maintained and was misaligned which is a safety hazard. I submitted photos pre and post trip per the company policy with documented pictures of the damages. I called GetAround before the trip to ask for another car since my reserved car was heavily damaged. They said they took note of my call and complaint and that the submitted pictures would serve as proof of the current damaged. On May 5, I was hit with an $1100 damage fee for the bumpers and other damages I wasn't liable for. There is no way to speak to a representative unless there is an active reservation. I had to reserve a car to be able to get someone on the phone to request the pictures I submitted showing the damages. Beware at all costs! DO NOT USE THIS *** COMPANY.
I would give 0 stars if I could. I was told that any damage found after I rented and returned the car was still my fault and I had to pay for the issues. I returned the car in the same condition I found it, but, since it got scratched after I left it, apparently I still need to pay. Their customer service is especially terrible at picking up the phone and replying to emails. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not use this company. They will give you a bunch of BS fees. It isn't worth it.
Getaround charged my partner for damage to a vehicle she rented without offering any proof that she caused the damage. They withdrew money from her account immediately -- the cash was gone before she ever received an email explaining why she was being charged. She was later charged a second time, again without any warning. Their customer service explained that the first charge was based on an estimate, the second charge was supplemental since the actual repairs ended up costing $800 more than their internal estimate had predicted. They did not show any receipts for the work, and they did not show any estimates other than their own internally generated estimate. Ultimately they charged her nearly $2400 to repair two dents (no paint damage) to the side of a work truck. There's not a garage on earth that would charge that amount for that work. Getaround is absolutely exploiting their customers. Taking money from a renter's bank account without notice, explanation, or proof of work is unethical.
I paid $140 dollars to rent a vehicle on this platform specifically because I knew I could make some or all of the money back using a rideshare service. As a first-time renter, I could not believe the condition of the car that had just cost me $140/day. There was broken glass all over the vehicle! In the seats, on the floor, even in the door panels. There were large blood-like stains in 3 of the seats and a foul odor. So, as you could imagine, I was not able to drive and had to completely absorb the rental cost when I could have gotten a cheaper rental if I had known I wouldn't be able to drive for the rideshare service. When I called support, they said I could return the vehicle (on a holiday weekend) and rent another one at my expense. And that they wouldn't be able to provide a refund. Even though there is proof of the poor condition of this vehicle. It's alarming to think about the harm my life was and still is in due to the lack of policy and procedure enforcement. With a worldwide health crisis, this is truly unacceptable.

This company is going to run itself into the ground if it doesn't take accountability for the huge danger it put myself and clearly other customers into. I was given a rental car that was completely unfit to be driven. Within the first hour of driving my car the brakes and accelerator STOPPED WORKING. I had to pull off onto the side of the highway, shaking, calling their customer support. I was supposed to have this rental Friday through Monday and since I called on Friday they were not able to offer me a tow until Monday. I had to find a friend to come pick me up on the side of the highway. If it had been late at night, I could have been assaulted, if I hadn't been driving slowly, I could have been killed. GetAround did nothing to help me, they have not reimbursed me, and they have charged me for the tow truck that came THREE DAYS AFTER I WAS LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. There is no working number to call and speak to someone to fix this issue. This is a complete scam. I will not stop until I am reimbursed and speak to someone. I will do everything in my power to stop people from using this service.
Getaround charged our credit card multiple times without our permission for damages. They shared no photos of the damage and claimed the vehicle owner submitted valid receipts. They repeatedly assured us the charges were valid. After weeks of demanding proof they finally sent us a receipt for hundreds less than what they charged us and for services performed at a different shop and on a different day than what they said. The receipt showed that they lied to us but they only refunded part of what they took.
It's convenient. That is where the kindness stops, however. Their app barely qualifies as an app in my experience, the charges are often incorrect and overcharges are common, and turnaround time to get charges reimbursed is pathetic. If you can figure out another short term car rental company, do it and let me know. I'm sick of this company.
this company, i left my wallet in the car my friend rented and they wont give my my wallet back. They keep saying i need to rent the vehicle to get my personal property back. After speaking with the police and informing the company thats when they decided to respond to my messages. The told me to show up at 9am. I show up and someone else was renting the [censored]ing car. This business is so unprofessional im on day 5 and still no wallet. Going back today with the police.
I have attempted to use Getaround to work for Uber as per their agreement
I have attempted to use Getaround to work for Uber as per their agreement. I have made a total of 4 reservations, 2 of which were cancelled with zero notice. Today (11/12) they rebooked me with a random different car with different booking times while I was in route to pick up the vehicle. I had to argue with support staff to get a refund, and then they say it will take a week or more to see my money back. Obviously the company doesn't care that I scheduled my days around these rentals. I drive for a living. I need access to reliable rentals, which is what they promise and fail to deliver. As of right now, they have my money, I have no access to the vehicle I booked, and they have wasted literally hours of my time in my attempts to get to pre scheduled rentals that were cancelled without notice. This is no way to run a company, not for personal or business to business transactions. At this point, this is a review rather than a complaint, but if I don't see that refund promptly that will be changed. At the end of the day, this boils down to promises being made and not fulfilled as a pattern of behavior from this business.
I rented a car through GetAround for the day a couple of weeks ago to go visit a client outside of the city. My client hit my car while it was parked in their driveway. My client immediately filed a claim with their insurance and took full responsibility. They have State Farm, the best insurance available. Despite the fact that it was my clients fault, GetAround--based on their "renters policy"--wants to charge me $1383.99. I cancelled my credit card so they wouldn't have access to it and they threatened to send my bill to collections. GetAround's insurance company, Sedgewick, has not reached out to State Farm to get the payment for the damages. Save yourself a headache and stay away from this company. They are incredibly unethical. I'm considering suing them or joining other users in a classaction lawsuit.
They charge the RENTER for all damages up to $3000, even when it is ZERO fault of their own (this is disclosed in their user agreement that the fine is "regardless of fault.") I've never heard of a rental car company that charges $3,000 to the user if another driver is fully responsible.
I rented Natalie C's Fiat 500 in the Marina District in San Francisco. It was dirty, but I was nice and gave the owner a 5 star rating anyway. Much to my surprise, she gave me a one star rating. She wrote: "Parked w/o giving 24 hour street cleaning as instructed in my info to rent my Fiat. Had to leave my plans to move my vehicle b/c of the this. So careless of this renter-not worth it." The fact is I parked on a street that didn't have street cleaning for another week. In San Francisco, they only street clean on the first and third weeks. The owner obviously was confused and thought that it was the third Thursday of April and not the fourth. The owner subsequently admitted she was wrong, but declined to take down her review. Getaround has told me that there's nothing they can do.
Customer service with Getaround is a nightmare
Customer service with Getaround is a nightmare. I am an owner of a vehicle through Getaround, and I've had back-to-back issues with Getaround and its renters in the past several months with no resolution from anybody. They do not follow their own policies and their "Happiness Team" will give you the same "we've escalated your issue and you'll be contacted by a supervisor within 24-48 hours." They say these things just to get you off the phone. Absolutely no supervisor has contacted me, and no one from their "Trust and Safety" team has contacted me. I've sent follow-up emails on numerous occasions, but no answer. They've even told me that they prefer to communicate issues over email, but will leave my ticket unresolved for several weeks and months. These are some of the issues that have yet to be resolved by their "Trust and Safety" team: - Loss of Use reimbursement from a renter who got into a car accident 4 MONTHS AGO - Broken Window - Key stolen from my car - Flat tire - Dog hair and dirt tracks I do not recommend Getaround to ANYONE--both owners and renters. For those who are thinking about putting their car up on Getaround, your car will get messed up and Getaround will do nothing about it.
About a month ago I rented a vehicle on Getaround
About a month ago I rented a vehicle on Getaround. Everything was fine until a few weeks later I got notified that I had caused damage to the vehicle (which I hadn't, for the record). I tried to dispute but had no luck, since they hide every detail of their so called "investigations" and just put up a wall and tell you you're responsible for the damage. I ended up paying $1429.40 on 6/1, a very high amount for the damage they claimed but, still eager to put all this behind me I thought "ok, fine". Now, 18 days later and a month after the original trip, they claim the damage was higher (out of the blue) and tried to charge me over $800 more. Here is the kicker, they charged my card *before ever sending out a notice*. They then sent me a notification only because my credit card blocked the charge (and rightfully so)! If the charge had gone through, would they have even emailed? Probably not! This company will try to squeeze every last cent out of you. I will dispute this and post reviews everywhere to warn people. I'll bring it to small claims court if I have to. Especially because we all know they have insurance that is paying for this and are just trying to scam people out of money. This is shameful behavior. Do not rent via Getaround.

Getaround must be hurting for money because they have this new fuel scam where they claim they are no receiving the photos I submit for gas when following their end-of-trip process. I take the photo of the usually-full fuel gauge, which is always topped back off before dropping off the car. Needless to say, with the exception of once or twice, most of my trips in 2021 with Getaround (dozens) have resulted in getting billed for "using more gas than I put back." Excuses range from their app did not intake the photo from the end-of-trip process, or the CS rep asking if I happen to have another photo of the gas gauge (Why?! This is what that section of your f*@!$ app is for!), or that they now require a gas receipt screenshot to issue the refund (again, ill-taken money in the first place). Then it is tied up in their bureaucracy and I usually don't get it back. Honestly, I don't think of a receipt all the time as I am on my feet all day in a very fast-paced job and most of the time I am just thinking of getting home ASAP. Anyway, shouldn't the proof when ending the trip of a full gas gauge be more than enough on the front end as to never get billed for any further charge like this again? I feel that this is one of many issues that this company should be taken to heel for, and I hope my review gets notice. 0 Stars
Getaround is extremely bad and a **** company
Getaround is extremely bad and a *** company. I rented a 2010 car and got a flat while driving on the freeway with my kids in the car. I was able to safely park the car within a few minutes because the flat happened close to the freeway off-ramp...and the parking space was also located within the return circle area. I notified Getaround immediately via email since there is no way to contact them by phone. I also notified the car owner. 3 weeks later they tried to charge me $349 and claimed that I was responsible for the flat because it happened during my rental. The cost of the flat tire was $149..but they charged me an additional $200 and claimed that I had not notified them about the tire in a timely manner. Just to be clear, I notified them right away with 2 or 3 emails..and emailed the car owner 2 times. I am not paying for a flat tire that happened due to no fault of mine. I also had the Getaround insurance. On top of that, the owner went to purchase a new tire and her tire was already used when I rented the car. I told them that I will see both in small claim court before I pay anything for renting something with defective merchandise. SF City AAttorneyI have ceed to check into the Getaround business practices. Im sure their arbitration agreement also violates CA law. They even tried multiple times to charge my credit card. I reported it as fraud and I will never do business with them again. Good thing I kept my emails.
Great idea, horrible operation
Great idea, horrible operation. Nearly every rental ended with having to argue false charges, usually claiming i did not refill gas when in fact i did. One time kept me on the phone for 45 mins to make my rental late when the purpose of the call was to extend the rental and prevent the late fee. My last rental scheduled for 6:30 am return, I had thought I extended but regardless, I was not contacted until 3:43 am the next morning as attempt to extend the rental before requesting a recovery tow of vehicle. First of all, why almost 4 in the morning?! Secondly, to extend i was first required to pay the late fees which maxed out to $500 at that point. Keep in mind I previously had instance of getting locked out of the car while refueling before returning the vehicle the second it was due. Constant drug out support calls were of course always during the rental time paid with no compensation, always under accusation of something to charge me for, never acknowledging their own errors. And on that last rental, if it did indeed end ar 6:30 am and my mistake at not completing the extension, I should have not been able to operate the vehicle four hours later, as I did and certainly should not have had the vehicle for nearly 24 hours before being contacted. That would have had me in an irate panic mode as the owner of the car that *** would have appeared to have let my car go missing. Furthermore, they keep trying to charge me these fees, ignoring multiple notices of revocation of authorization to do so.

I began sharing my vehicle on Getaround in November , and after 10 months of using the service (with only minor customer-related incidents, mostly resolved), the vehicle was stolen outside of a customer trip. The vehicle was parked on a neighborhood street for customer access, and did not display a Getaround sticker. The Getaround "Connect" anti-theft and GPS device that disables the vehicle's starter without verification from a smartphone app was removed from the vehicle in the process of the theft, and since the key fob must be left inside the vehicle, it was used to start the vehicle and drive it away. The vehicle is easy to locate on the Getaround app, despite a 1/4-mile buffer placed around the location provided by the Connect device GPS signal. The vehicle was recovered a couple days later, and my personal auto insurance is handling the claim since I'm covered under comprehensive coverage. Getaround's vehicle owner insurance does not apply outside of customer trips, and the Getaround Connect agreement is essentially a "use at your own risk" warning. This review is intended as a warning to potential Getaround vehicle owners that your vehicle is very much at risk of theft if you decide to join the platform, and that Getaround does not offer any support if the theft occurs when the vehicle is not in use by a paying customer. I advise that if you are a Getaround vehicle owner whose vehicle has been stolen, you may file a claim against Getaround in small claims court, only. None of the agreements you sign with Getaround deny your right to do so. I would like to see a class-action lawsuit arise on behalf of other vehicle owners whose vehicles have been stolen using the Getaround Connect service. While personal insurance may cover most of the damages for some, a "use at your own risk" policy is negligence, at best, on behalf of Getaround.
I've been a Getaround car owner for almost 8 years
I've been a Getaround car owner for almost 8 years. I've had 3 cars on Getaround (2 smart cars and my Infiniti g35). In the beginning, Getaround was great about repairing any damage done to my vehicle from a Getaround renter. Getaround takes a high percentage of rental income. In the beginning I thought this was reasonable as long as Getaround would support Getaround Car owners and resolve issues if they came up. I figured that was fair. However, in the last 3 years, I feel like everything has changed. I've reported several damages to my car, and Getaround is reluctant to help fix my car. Their support for Getaround car owners is almost non-existent now and it seems like they just want to use your car for their own profit. They have all these rules that relieve themselves from any responsibility in fixing my car. Most recently, I had a renter who drove my car recklessly (I know this because the car computer and mechanic both note this), that my car's transmission and clutch overheated. The car stalled during the rental. The car was returned to me and I took it to the shop to get an estimate to fix. I contacted Getaround claims, and they denied my claim. They claim that this is "normal wear and tear". I explained to them several times that this was due to reckless driving. The car broke down during a rental. This should be covered by Getaround. I've reached out to them several times and I requested to speak to someone on the phone. As a getaround car owner, this is your worst nightmare. Your car breaks down during a getaround rental, and Getaround, who you think will support you, completely leaves you hanging. I continued to reach out to them and asked for them to reconsider. The last I heard from them, they deactivated my car on Getaround without any clear reason. I now have a broken car that was broken during a Getaround rental and Getaround refuses to fix. As a getaround car owner, this your worst nightmare come true.
This business is an absolute **** and I wish I read the reviews that mirror my experience before I gave them a try
This business is an absolute *** and I wish I read the reviews that mirror my experience before I gave them a try. I rented a getaround car for about 2 1/2 hours in May . I was in the car the ENTIRE time. I did not hit anything and was not hit by anything. I received a random email from getaround on July 30 (2 MONTHS after the rental) stating that there was damage to the car that reportedly happened during the time that I had it and that I was going to be charged $250 for it to be fixed. I responded asking for details about what they were referring to because there was no damage to the car done during the time that I had it. No one responded to my email until August 21 when they tried charging my card and it was declined. I asked for more specifics regarding this supposed claim and was told that there was a front bumper scratch that I was responsible for paying to fix. I was sent two photos of the scratch (which is big enough that I would have felt happen if it happened while I was in the car). I was also sent an itemized receipt from getaround showing the charges to get it fixed. I responded asking for photos of the car before and after my trip, showing that this damage occurred during my trip. The photo that they sent me from before my trip did not show the part of the car that has the scratch. The photo that they sent me from after my trip shows the part of the car that has the scratch. I responded stating that they need to actually send me legitimate time-stamped photos of the specific part of the car with the scratch, from before and after the trip. It's enough of a sign that this company is a *** that they don't even have a phone number to call and their email responses are sporadic and vague. It is obvious that someone did damage to this car when it was not my rental period and they are taking advantage of me to get it paid for. It seems like a common theme with this company. I'll be spreading the word to everyone I know to stay far away from this company. If getaround continues to pursue me for this damage that I am NOT responsible for then I will pursue legal action.
lets start by saying Getaround is nothing but a scam and the worse rental app company to rent car from
lets start by saying Getaround is nothing but a scam and the worse rental app company to rent car from. I rented a car from March 22nd to March 24th. You have to take pictures before unlocking the car through the app, a little piece of the bumper in the front kept popping out i noted that in and took a picture, minor scratches around, filthy seats. I was gonna extend the car longer but realize i couldn't I'm assuming the car was book after me. I provided pictures upon returning i took pictures there weren't any damage to the car. My boyfriend who's card i use on file notice a charge or $1800 this was taking out on April 5th I believe. I then try to contact them no number everything is through email. I search my email only to seen a email from an agent through the complaint department in my junk mail saying they made a decision and for damage that were on the car. The piece was called a "Rocker Panel" now mind you i never did any damage to car i barely drove it even returned it early. That piece don't cost 1800 dollars and they wouldn't even provide any proof kept saying they were gonna send me pics and never did and said they weren't gonna give my boyfriend back his money. If i did any damage i would own up to it but why should we have to pay for something that wasn't done on my trip. Then they lied and said the owner was there and check the car which was *** because i was there for about 30 mins waiting on my ride. I'm not the only one who complained about this company taking money out their account. This company is bad for business.. Stuff like that you suppose to contact someone and ask them how do they wanna go about paying for damage on a car "IF" they did it not just take it out someone else's account you can see the card name and account name were two different names.. I felt and still feel bad because that was money in his account for his daughter. We still trying to fight to get the money back. Please those if you renting from them please be careful with this company cause all they doing is *** people and don't care not one bit. If i can give this zero stars trust me i would. I been making complaints on their facebook as well. This has to stop!
How does this company have ComplaintsBoard.com accreditation?
How does this company have Complaintsboard.com accreditation? DO NOT RENT FROM GETAROUND! If they charge you in error, they WILL NOT investigate or refund you. Dispute the charges directly with your credit card. The Summary: Customer service is abysmal, company is incompetent and cars are in terrible condition. They charged me ~$1,700 in fees as a result of a breakdown, committed to conducting an investigation within a week to reverse the charges. It's been 4 months and I have not heard a word! The Story: I got a truck from them to for a trip from SF to Redding. On the return trip, the car overheated and I found myself stranded 100mi from home, by the freeway, in the middle of nowhere. Called customer service, they quoted me a towing fee, but said it's not my responsibility under the circumstances. They called a tow truck for me and proceeded to send it to the wrong location (about an hour away from where I was). I had to resolve this with the towing company myself. In the meantime, my reservation ended and they disabled my ability to turn on the ignition. Customer service said they can't help me. I was due to be back in SF by 8pm. Finally got there at 3am. All this time, the truck was considered "not returned". Next day, I found ~$1700 in charges for towing and returning the vehicle late. I managed to get in touch with customer service, who were of zero help. They are located in the Philippines and specifically trained to placate you with false commitments and not allow you to escalate your problem to someone that can actually help. After more than 2 hours on the phone, I was not able to speak to a to the claims resolution team or even a manager. All I got was multiple extensive holds and repeated "our claims team will get in touch with you within 48 hours and resolve the claim within a week". That evening, the "contact customer service" button disappeared from the app. The only way to contact CS is via email, which go unanswered. 4 months later, I still haven't heard from their claims resolution team. I disputed the charges with my credit card. Lucky for me, my bank does value my experience as a customer. Reading various reviews here and other sites, I can't decide if they are actively trying to defraud customers or if if this is just a side effect of complete incompetence. Either way, it's a truly horrific customer experience.
Hi, I would like to report an issue that I recently had with this online car sharing company called Get Around
Hi, I would like to report an issue that I recently had with this online car sharing company called Get Around. They are unreliable, never again! they did not respect the agreement that we had after they rented me an UNSAFE CAR, PUTTING ME IN DANGER ! No refund has been issued for unused rental time as well as for my uber to go home, no response to any of my email solicitations about this agreement and next steps, no apologies, they just disappeared and there is no phone number to communicate with them. I am reporting them because of the lack of response and customer support from this company after an incident happened on June 20th. This is what happened: I rented a car (FIAT500) from their web site, when I went to pick up all look normal, after about 1h from renting it different malfunction signals popped up (I have a picture of this), the first was tire pressure was low, then stop lamp that was not working and lastly a signal stating that the engine should be checked. I got scared as it did not look very safe so I called Get around support and their only suggestion was to find a car repair office close by to take a look (I want to mention that with my rental I bought their FULL insurance coverage), so disrupting my trip and scared for my safety I reached a car repair office close by, he kindly took a look and he told me that the all-electric system was unreliable with an engine MISFIRE identified (I have a photo with this repot), he told me that was unsafe to keep driving this car and to communicate it to the car rental service. I did it, a very rude guy replied not willing to offer me any options to go back home safely, I convinced him to call road service (included in my insurance plan) and to speak with his manager to find a way to bring myself home safely. After about 1h (around 2:30pm) I spoke with his manager (***) he agreed to send the road service, to refund me the unused trip and to help me to go home by reimbursing me an uber (I have his email where he states to send him my uber receipt). They claimed that road assistance should take 30-60 min and that I should remain close to the car the all time and I did (likely I reached already a village and I was not on the side of the road). Road assistance took instead 3 hours to get there, they arrived at 4:54pm after calling me multiple times asking me who will pay them and where they should bring the car as it was mine while Get Around should be responsible of having a correct communication with them. Once they arrived (I have picture of them getting the car) I was able to call an uber as discussed on the phone with Get around and get safely home. It was an horrible day and their customer support was very slow in reacting to put myself and the car is a safe position after the incident, but it is not the worst since they did not respect the agreement that we had, no refund has been issued for unused time as well as for my uber to go home, no response to any of my email solicitations about this agreement and next steps, no apologies, they just disappeared and there is no phone number to communicate with them. I am asking some help to get a refund that I think I am entitled to after they rented my an unsafe car putting myself and people that were with me in danger. Thank you very much for considering this issue and I happy to provide documents and picture to support my statements.

Horrible Experience with Getaround Car Rental Service: Unfair Charges and Cancelled Rides
Getaround is a car rental service that I recently used for a trip. Unfortunately, my experience with them was not a good one. They accused me of causing damage to the car, which I am certain I did not do. However, they did not listen to my explanation and instead charged me $200 for not reporting the damage. The amount of damage they claimed was only $27, which seems like a small amount to cause any significant damage. I would have paid the $27 just to avoid any further hassle, but the $200 fee was outrageous.
This incident was the last straw for me, but it was not the only problem I had with Getaround. On two separate occasions, my ride was cancelled just as I was about to pick up the car. Getaround claimed that the car was stolen, which seemed like a strange coincidence since I don't live in a bad area. I suspect that the car owner needed to use the car and cancelled the rental, but did not want to pay the cancellation fee. One of those times, I was on my way to a specialist doctor's appointment that I had waited months for. Unfortunately, I missed the appointment because I had no car. Getaround did not do anything to make the situation right, which was very disappointing.
Overall, I had a horrible experience with Getaround. They seem more interested in making money than providing good customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Terrible Experience with Getaround: Car Wouldn't Start and Poor Customer Service
My experience with Getaround was not good at all. I rented a car for this morning and when I got there, the car wouldn't start. I was in a hurry and I needed that car. I tried to contact customer service, but it took me more than 20 minutes to get through. When I finally reached someone, it took 30 minutes to book a new car down the street. I had to ask for a refund for the dead car, but they did not offer to do so for the new car, even though the new car reservation time was an HOUR after my original reservation time. When I asked them to comp the new reservation for such an awful experience, I was told that the manager would have to approve it, but that he did not have time to talk to me. That was completely outrageous! The manager didn't take responsibility and it was so bureaucratic that the customer service person had to wait for permission from the manager to just get me a new car, let alone a refund. They seem to think that it's not their fault when their experience is crappy. Now I'm waiting for them to get back to me to discuss the possibility of a refund. It's ridiculous. I will not use Getaround again.

Getaround Car Rental Review: Hidden Fees, Scary Fee Schedule, and Poor Monitoring System
Getaround is not a good choice for renting a car. They charge too many fees that will make you feel like you're being robbed. Their fee schedule is scary, and you'll be better off renting from somewhere else. I tried renting from them to drive with Uber, but I ended up making only $50 for 9 hours of work after Getaround fees and gas. I'm planning to rent from a reputable company, but I can't do it for a few days. So, I decided to rent from Getaround again today, but now they're charging deposits that range from $150-$300 a day. They hold the deposit for 7 days, and it takes another 3-10 days to get it back. If I rent for my usual 4 days a week, I'll have $600-$1200 in deposits that I won't get back for probably 2 weeks.
Their monitoring system never works, and it always shows less than a full tank of gas. They charge $12.35 a gallon for gas, even though the car was just filled with gas. They charge you for everything, and their insurance is only liability. You have to pay an additional fee for their insurance. They also charge as much as $3000 for any perceived damage, real or not. If you go through a toll road and it has a license plate reader account, you are charged double for processing fees. They have lists of fees that they can't explain. If you call them on anything, they give a canned answer that it's their system, and they can't change it.
I'm filing a complaint with the California Attorney General because this is unacceptable.

Getaround Review: Beware of Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Service
BEWARE OF GETAROUND - THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING
If you're looking to rent a car, I highly recommend that you consider other options before booking with GETAROUND. There are more ethical companies out there that offer better value-added services at a lower cost.
Once you've booked with GETAROUND, you won't be able to change your reservation. The price only goes up, even if you make changes that should reduce the fee.
GETAROUND will find any excuse to take money out of your deposit. You won't be able to speak to anyone, and they won't reply to your emails. They'll impose penalties and judgments without any evidence.
The car owners are greedy and will try to take more money from you for the flimsiest of reasons. GETAROUND will support them.
I had to phone the LLP Registered Company address to make a complaint, and it took ten days to receive an email reply. It took me ten weeks to get a refund of ?200, and I had to work hard to get it. I don't think they would have refunded me if I hadn't kept at them and the LLP on a regular basis.
I've now signed up with a proper company that offers the same model of car for less money. They're fully insured, and the congestion charge is included. They have a call center, people to talk to, and systems in place to protect you from extortion.
If you need a car rental service, there are far better options than GETAROUND. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Getaround Car Rental Service Review: A Nightmare of Hidden Fees and Terrible Customer Service
Listen up, folks! I know you're all looking for a good car rental service, but let me tell you, Getaround ain't it. Sure, some people might have had decent experiences, but let me tell you about my time with them.
First of all, let's talk about the money. Getaround has no problem taking more money from your account without any warning or explanation. And when they do, you better be ready to spend hours of your time trying to prove them wrong. They'll charge you for anything from a "faulty" fuel readout to a ticket that the car's owner received before you even rented the car. And even if you have full documentation proving your innocence, they'll still take your money.
And don't even get me started on the customer service. The employees are incompetent, condescending, and just plain miserable. They act like they're doing you a favor by even responding to your complaints. And when they do, they'll often only refund part of the money they took from you, if they refund anything at all.
So, if you're thinking about using Getaround, be prepared to do a lot of extra work. You'll need to document everything and make sure you have at least twice the amount of your rental available in your account to avoid overdraft fees. And even then, you might still end up getting screwed over.
In conclusion, save yourself the trouble and go with a different car rental service. Getaround might seem like a good deal, but trust me, it's not worth the headache.
Getaround Review: A Car Rental Platform That Leaves You High and Dry
Getaround is a car rental platform that takes a cut of your rental fees and leaves you with all the expenses. They act like they're on your side until it's time to pay up, and then they leave you high and dry.
I used Getaround to rent out my car for a year, from 2019 to 2020. During that time, I had some expenses that Getaround agreed to reimburse me for, but when it came time to pay up, they refused. This cost me a lot of money and left me feeling frustrated.
One of the expenses I had was a collision. My car was rented out when it was involved in a collision, and the repairs cost me $536. Getaround used their own estimate to determine the cost of repairs and only paid me $416. This left me with a bill of over $100.
I also had some parking tickets that were incurred while my car was being rented out. The tickets and late fees added up to $481, but Getaround only paid me $125. They refused to pay the remaining $356, which left me with a bill of over $350.
When I wanted to take my car off the Getaround platform, they were unable to send someone to remove their control device because of the pandemic. I had to have it removed at my dealer, which cost me $61. While I understand the pandemic made things difficult, this was still Getaround's responsibility. They even threatened me with a large fine if I didn't return the device, which left me feeling frustrated and angry.
In the end, these expenses were too high, and I was losing money every month. Working with Getaround was not worth the time, money, or frustration. I would not recommend this platform to anyone looking to rent out their car.
Getaround Review: Don't Share Your Car on This Platform - My Cars Got Stolen and Getaround Won't Take Responsibility!
So, like, I was talked into investing in Getaround by a friend like 2 months ago. I was like, "okay, link me up with someone to talk to." And he did. I spoke to this dude named Andy Bindas who works for Getaround and he convinced me to put like 5 cars on the platform. So, I went ahead and purchased 5 cars worth over $160,000. But, like, to my surprise, I didn't get my first payment on the 15th like we agreed on. And now, like, 2 of my cars worth almost 70k got stolen and Getaround is not taking responsibility for it! These 2 cars got missing within a 2-day interval with the Getaround app deactivated. And, like, my friend also lost his car on Getaround within the same time and same way mine was taken away. If it wasn't for my friend who manages one of my cars noticing that my car wasn't at the home location when Getaround ended the trip, I would have lost 3 cars by now. He immediately called Getaround and eventually the car was recovered.
What I have come to understand is that they have criminals amongst them that track recent cars and go after them. When my car was installed, I wasn't allowed to be there, and I don't know where the device was connected. Now, tell me how someone was able to get into my car and have my device demobilized and my car taken away without Getaround being able to track my car down till date. Their excuse was that my security enhancements were off which is never true as I never turned off anything! Andy Bindas who is their staff installed my cars and I noticed that without one getting in using the App, the car won't start. Now, I asked Getaround, how was someone able to get into my car and have it taken away, and they have refused to answer that question!
I would advise that you don't share your car on this platform! It does not worth it!
Getaround Review: Nightmare Experience with Unreliable Renters and Faulty Technology
I gotta say, I was pretty stoked when I found out about Getaround. I've been into car sharing for a hot minute now, and let me tell you, personally handing over the keys and explaining the ins and outs to every renter was starting to wear on me. But Getaround promised a hassle-free experience, with a super trustworthy system for vetting renters. So I signed up, thinking it would be smooth sailing from there.
Boy, was I wrong.
First off, let's talk about the renters. Getaround claims they thoroughly check everyone who wants to rent your car, but I'm here to tell you that's a load of baloney. At least 30% of the people who drove my car were not the ones who had rented it and given their deets. One time, a teenager who wasn't even old enough to be on the system took my car on a week-long vacay to Spain. Her dad had to sign up just so she could use it. And it wasn't just that one time - it happened more than I care to admit.
And then there's the "Getaround connect box." Supposedly, this little gadget makes everything super easy - renters can grab your car, the box tracks the mileage and fuel level, and you're good to go. But after a couple months, the thing started acting up. It was giving me totally wrong readings on the fuel level, which meant I got charged an arm and a leg for gas that I had already filled up. And when I tried to get in touch with Getaround about it, they straight-up ignored me. I had to fight tooth and nail just to get them to admit that the box wasn't working right, and they still wouldn't reimburse me for the extra gas I had to buy.
Honestly, this whole experience has been a nightmare. I wouldn't trust Getaround as far as I could throw them.
Getaround Review: Poorly Maintained Car and Unfair Charges
Yo, what's up guys? I gotta give you an update on my experience with Getaround. So, I rented a 2011 Toyota Corolla from this dude named Daniel in Portland, Oregon on July 29th. My son and I were planning to take a trip to the west coast, but the car started acting up and wouldn't go up hills. The engine was bucking and it even stalled on a steep incline. We had to turn around and didn't make it all the way back. I found a parking lot and called Getaround to come get the car.
But get this, they charged me for the rental, the gas refill, and the tow back to Daniel's location. I was like, "What the heck, man?" So, I wrote to Getaround and told them what happened. They asked me how they did, and I told them that Daniel's car was poorly maintained and failed halfway through the trip. I parked it in a convenient parking lot and called Getaround to report the location of the defective car. They dispatched a tow truck, but I had to take an Uber back home at my expense.
I mean, come on, guys. The car was in poor condition and not suitable for renting out. Why should I have to pay for the rental fee, the refueling fee, and the towing fee? These fees are either to be absorbed by Getaround or charged to Daniel. After several communications with Getaround and seemingly getting nowhere, I finally received an email from Celine at Getaround customer service. She said that since my experience with Getaround was less than stellar, they will refund all charges for the July 29th car rental. These refunds showed up in my account today, August 30th.
So, will I use Getaround again? Maybe, but I'll be careful if I'm in Portland again. I just hope they improve their customer service and make sure the cars they rent out are in good condition.
Terrible Car Service: Multiple Bad Experiences and Hidden Fees - Avoid Getaround and Use Turo Instead
This car service is not good. I wouldn't give it any stars if I could. I've had bad experiences more than 3 times now. The first time, I had to go to more than 3 cars and wait over 90 minutes to find out that none of them were working. I missed a friend's birthday lunch and had to abandon the cars and go back later. I then went back later to find it still wasn't working and wait another 30 minutes before I had any luck. I missed another commitment which cost me over ?80. I was then charged in FULL for the service even though it took 4 cars, over 2 hours of wasted time and lost money on other experiences.
The second time I was charged a ridiculous admin fee which came to over ?100 on top of the money already spent on the car.
The third time, reviews of the car from other customers had stated there was a warning light that came on every time the car started and the response from getaround/the owner was that they had fixed it. They hadn't. Not only that, but the car stank of weed and I was charged close to an extra ?300 for congestion charge, which was not stated that it had to be paid in anywhere obvious on the site and considering the collection point was in central London, you'd assume it was sorted, as well as another fine for supposedly driving the wrong way which was a ?30 fine yet the whole fee came to ?100 as getaround charge a ludicrous amount for admin which is disgusting. This all happened despite me emailing prior to the fines about the state of the car which I was pretty annoyed about given this was the third time I'd had a bad experience with getaround.
I am absolutely livid that I have spent any money with this company, let alone being charged an extra ?400+ and losing over ?100 on missing experiences due to the poor service from this app.
I never write reviews but this has annoyed me beyond belief. I have emailed asking for advice and help on the situation and the response has been rubbish and not good enough. Do not use. Use Turo instead.
Claim number: GETA_[protected] I am a host on getaround at the time this happened
Claim number: GETA_[protected] I am a host on getaround at the time this happened. The damage to my vehicle was during a rental trip with a guest that ended on December 14. At some point during the trip the windshield on my car was broken to the point that it needed to be replaced. The guest took photos after the trip at approximately 9pm and did not return the vehicle with the same level of gasoline so it needed to be filled up. During the trip to the gas station it was apparent that the glass was cracked. I reported the incident right away on the following day (December 15) and have been denied for my claim with Getaround that this happened during the trip. They referenced the dark pictures at 9pm when the guest dropped my car back off and also the fact that the vehicle had moved before the claim was made (as previously stated it was returned with low gas) I am seeking that they reimburse me for the deductible on my insurance to cover the glass ($100) and for my time for dealing with this and getting their device removed from my vehicle. (Attatched is the picture from the return of my vehicle where the crack is right above the inspection sticker)

I have rented cars on Getaround many times. On Saturday, April 9 I picked up a car that had a tank 85% full (according to the Getaround app). Renters are required to return cars full, or at the same level as when they picked it up. When I returned the car on Sunday, April 10, I returned it about 90% full (18/20 digital rectangles filled). Somehow the Getaround sensor incorrectly detected 77% full, so I attached a photo to show the correct reading. A few minutes later I received an email saying I was being charged for *** gallons of gas, at $13.02 a gallon. This was doubly infuriating, in that Id returned the car with more gas than I had to, and the refueling price was more than double that of our already-high fuel prices. I contacted Getaround to protest the charge, and initially they confirmed the error and said they would remove the charge. Yet when I followed up a few days later since there hasnt yet been a refund, Getaround responded that they werent refunding me after all. This is simply fraudulent behavior and I am appalled.
To begin with, contacting customer service is impossible. Even when using the chat feature and selecting the option to call support, which is supposedly available around the clock, no contact number is provided through the 'ask' app. Furthermore, the number provided on Complaintsboard.com is not operational. I have been charged a late fee of $50 unjustly, as I was not late with my payment. My complaint seems to be ignored. The lack of communication options when an issue arises is incredibly frustrating. Any emails sent are directed to a general account and are sporadically replied to without any actual resolution, leading to a repetitive and unproductive cycle.
I was charged for not filling the tank to 100% after only being told during check out to bring it back to the original fuel level that it was at, at the beginning of the trip. The company stole my money and is claiming their policy states that if the car is not on full that it has to be brought back on full. The company has conflicting policies making it difficult for the customer to satisfy their request. The emailed receipt states that the gas was on 100% at the beginning - but the trip itinerary states that the gas was on 53% at the beginning of the trip. All photos containing proof are attached to this complaint. I am seeing a refund of $63 promptly.
Date: 4/11/22
I returned a Getaround car to a designated location in a specific area at about 5:00pm on 4/11/22, exactly where the owner informed it would be when I picked it up on 4/8/22 (I have communication via text from the car owner regarding this). The car owner failed to inform me, and the person who reserved the car before me, that the area is subject to towing regulations. The car I parked was towed and a tow charge was placed on my Getaround account. I provided proof via multiple emails that the car owner is at fault for not informing me, and other Getaround drivers, about the towing regulations of the area where he instructed us to park his car. There were no visible parking signs indicating a tow zone when I picked up and returned the car. The car owner and Getaround have photo documentation of where I parked the car, which they received in real time when I picked it up and dropped it off. I am being billed for a charge that should be the responsibility of the car owner. Getaround has been unhelpful in resolving this issue. I would like Getaround to please drop all charges related to this and to restore my account to good standing.
I booked a vehicle on 02/03/2022 for a 1:30 pm pickup
I booked a vehicle on 02/03/2022 for a 1:30 pm pickup. I arrived at 1:28 pm and waited 2 mins because you can't start your trip until your booking time. I tried to check by doing the inspections but the car would not unlock. I contacted support to assist and they told me that all they could do was try to book me another trip. I asked if the host could be contacted... they said no which is really dumb. Who runs an app that allows the cars of other people to be rented and guests are not able to contact the hosts?! I paid *** total for the trip. I paid *** for an Uber and *** for a Lyft to and from the address that was sent to me upon booking. I missed an appointment at the VA that took me 6 months to get and won't be able to book it again for another 6+ months. I want all my money back because what occurred is not my fault. I will not upload the Uber and Lyft receipts because they have addresses on them, but I can provide them to show the fees. After I get my money back... I want my account to be deleted permanently. The total due back is ***. I do not want a credit added to my account. I would like the funds put on the debit card that is on file with Getaround.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
On 3/17 I rented a vehicle for 2 days through the Getaround app, when I picked up the vehicle the fuel level was at 98%. I returned the vehicle on 3/19 and replaced the gas back at 98% as it was when I picked it up. I get an email the next day after returning the car saying that they were charging me $34 for gas ($11 a gallon) which the car was returned right at the *** as full. I sent it pictures and my gas receipts and the rep who was very rude kept saying the car was not returned at the full level. I want my full deposit back and have already filed dispute with my bank.
I recently had a car break down, and I needed a car rental to get to work. My license is in the mail, so when I signed up for their service, they had me enter in my drivers license info, but their prompt did not ask for a photo of myself or the temporary license. Then, when I tried to rent the car, they said there was a problem with my license, but they didn't clearly state what the problem was. I then checked my bank account and Getaround has charged me $213.83, but I was not confirmed to have a car rental. I tried to reach out to customer service, but they don't provide a call center, and reply to emails only. I have no idea if I'm actually getting a refund or not, and this company attempts to scam their customers.
I returned the vehicle with a completely full tank of gas. Despite that, during the check out process the app would only recognize a partial tank. As per the apps request, you can provide a photograph to prove that the tank is fullwhich I did. It even still shows up in my rental history. 2 days later I got a misleading email with the subject line your rental.. and three paragraphs down the fee was nested in the body copy, hidden from view. When confronted: they suddenly demanded a receipt as proof, despite having the photograph as evidence that they requested. On top of that, I contacted the car owner and had him (***) call them to verify. I even sent screen grabs of out communication. We emailed back and forth over 8 times. Each time they refused to return the money despite the photograph and verification from the owner themselves. The entire situation was very strange and the way they attempted to sneak in the fee with a misleading email is even further proof of their malice.
I rented a car from the app. The car was dented and filthy, smoked in, but I took the car since I had to work early in the morning. I documented all of this. On the second to last day of my rental the car seemed to become mechanically unsafe to drive. I parked it and left it by my hotel. I went back and forth with the company who were unclear about a resolution to the issue. I realized later that they never contacted the owner of the vehicleI contacted him. I realized after speaking with the third customer service rep that the front right tire was flat. I measured the tread with a ***, and it had none. Again, I recorded this. All of this to say that this car should never, ever have been rented. It was not just unkempt, but unsafe. It was utterly misrepresented in their app. I was offered no explanation nor offer of compensation. A business should not be able to be run like this.

I rented a Prius and took it out of the parking garage it was parked at and not even 4 miles after the tire popped on the highway and I never reached above 70MPH. Luckily I didn't die and could pull off to the shoulder still on the highway in a bad dangerous place. I called getaround to report this issue and get a tow. 3 hours later I get picked up. The car was turned off. The tow guy couldn't get the car's new tire on it to tow because the Getaround company wouldn't turn it back on despite contacting them and waiting 15 minutes for them to do nothing. The tow service had to then manuver the prius with the tow which he had to get in and drive around and make it all work taking another 20 minutes. I got the Prius finally to its old parking spot where I had the mistake of renting from, and tried to call Getaround once again because the car window had been down and they never turned the car back on to allow me to roll it up. My phone was on 3% and I had to still get home from the parking garage and it was now dark out and had to walk home in the dark. When I left for this journey it was 1pm mind you. I owe them nothing, I almost died in so many ways that day due to their negligence.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I utilized Getaround with the intention of earning income, but ultimately, I didn't profit at all. As a host, they require you to install a GPS connector in your vehicle, yet they fail to mention that it can deplete your battery, even with daily use. Consequently, I had to purchase a new battery. Additionally, the customer service has been disappointing; the representative I spoke with was dismissive and unhelpful. I am seeking a refund and an improvement in customer support. When I contact Getaround, I often hear children in the background, leading me to suspect that they might be employing underage individuals abroad. This company's practices appear to be deceptive. Furthermore, on February 28th, my car had to be towed because it wouldn't start due to a dead battery. Despite this, Getaround contests the battery's condition, even though I have provided them with the towing invoice.
I rented a car threw them and was supposed to get a refund for 3 canceled trips and when I called them to fix the problem they never let me talk to a higher up. They blamed my bank then Apple Pay when Apple has nothing to do with it they continue to take money out my account perfectly fine but never return my refund and tried to act stupid like they dont know where the money went wasted days trying to talk to them and never had my problem solved I just want my money back
In an effort to have my account deleted from Getaround's records, I followed their instructions to submit a request for account deletion through their online help center. I submitted my request on February 18, 2022, and received an email with a tracking number, ensuring me that someone from their Happiness Team would respond as soon as possible. However, I have not received any follow-up correspondence.
I submitted another request on March 1, 2022, and received the same automated email response with a new tracking number, but I still have not received any support or customer service. I am filing a complaint because I was asked to submit sensitive information in order to register for their services, including my contact information, driver's license number, and credit card information. It is upsetting that my request to have this private information deleted and removed from their records has been ignored. Typically, I receive a response from a company within a few days, if not immediately, especially when I am requesting that my account be deleted.
This company ripped me off. They overcharged me when I attempted to get another day on the rental they approved it and then the vehicle was cut off would not start. The owner of the vehicle showed up to my house screaming and yelling saying I stole the car. Worst experience ever. Was unable to add gas as the shutoff was activated. My 3 year old granddaughter witnessed this. Then they charged me for extra fees. And gas fee. Told me I would be refunded and kept attempting to charge my debit card
Last month, I paid almost $1,000 to rent a car for a weekend with Getaround
Last month, I paid almost $1,000 to rent a car for a weekend with Getaround. During the trip, I encountered two serious safety issues with the car. First, the windshield was so dirty it was dangerous to drive, and the fluid was empty, so I couldn't clean it while on the road. Second, and most concerningly, the seatbelt was broken. While I was driving on the highway, the seatbelt would dislodge (I was sitting still), and the light would come on. It was very difficult to get the seatbelt locked again while driving, and I'm grateful that I didn't get into an accident, because something terrible could have happened if I had. I couldn't take a picture of myself buckled in and the seatbelt light coming on because I was focused on driving safely. When I ended my trip, I immediately reported the issue to Getaround. The company claimed the seatbelt was not broken because the car's owner claimed it wasn't, and refused to refund the trip or to take any action. They even went so far as to say I hadn't reported the incident, though I obviously did. I'm very concerned they are allowing people to drive in unsafe cars and that the next person to take this car on the highway won't be as lucky as I was.

Had a terrible experience with the car ride sharing app Getaround. Rented a car that from the start had maintenance needed and low tire pressure lights on. The car battery died one of my rental days. It took 5 hours and countless calls to the company to get problem resolved. Lost a whole day of vacation. Trip is over now, cant get in touch with company-no phone number to call and no longer receiving replied emails. Im very frustrated. Please help me
My account was charged twice $144 for refuel, and incorrectly reported the fuel level at 56% when I picked up the car it had just around 25% fuel. I took photos in the user flow of the app to show this. I drove the car a total of 40 miles, which is less than 2 gallons worth of gas as the car gets 33 miles per gallon..they say they charge $10.49 per gallon which means I should only have been charged $21, not $144. I have been emailing back-and-forth, there is no phone number to call, and I was charged twice for this. The person is unwilling to work with me and I have no access to the photos taken in the user flow. They keep telling me the car was at 56% when received and the photos in the user flow show this.
I rented a get around (I just moved from ***), and declined the get around insurance, knowing my insurance would cover rental incidents. I was rear ended by someone covered by farmers insurance. Get around has repeatedly tried to charge me over $1650 and refuses to deal with my insurance (USAA) or the responsible drivers insurance, which agreed to cover since that driver was at fault. Get around refuses to respond to me or my insurance company and refuses to be in contact with my insurance or the at fault drivers insurance.
The company is extremely dishonest and robs people of their time and money. There is no customer service number to call for help. They do not allow you to speak to supervisors which makes me think the company is a scam. Its uncomfortable and needs to be looked into
On Saturday October 30th I rented a car from Getround that ended up getting a flat tire
On Saturday October 30th I rented a car from Getround that ended up getting a flat tire. Upon trying to change the tire I discovered that the spare had a hole in it. I called their customer service who told me I didn't pay for roadside assistance. I responded that I would t need roadside assistance if the spare wasnt flat. I had someone pick up my family and I was told to stay with the car and the tow driver would bring me homeby multiple agents. Upon his arrival I was told I would not be getting a ride and was left stranded in a field at night alone. I was later charged $175 for the tow and then $153 for damage to the car that had a bad tire and a non functional spare. I was also charged for the full trip that I wasn't able to complete. Their support closed the ticket without a resolution and inwws charged with the damages above. I want a full refund of the money I've lost renting car with them. I've been unable to speak with someone who does not give me a scripted response to get this resolved and I'm scared they are going to continue take money from me. I want a full refund from them. This had been a horrible experience and sad because I used them twice a week to get to work regularly and this is how they treat me.

I rented a get around in October
I rented a get around in October. I had rented this same car twice before as it was near my apartment. The car was fairly scratched up so I took a picture of the biggest scratch and began the trip. The rental was without incident, I filled up the tank and parked it without issues. Today, over five months after the trip, I received an email from get around support letting me know they investigated a claim related to this trip and found me at fault. The email gave me the "good news" that I was only liable for $1,000. I told them it was a mistake an I wanted to dispute the claim and for them to contact me. I received no response after several attempts to rectify the situation until I received a second email letting me know that that over 3k worth of damage was done to the car and I was provided with a receipt of the repair work. Again, I did zero damage to the car and this is 5 months after the trip. The recipe shows the car was repaired a week ago but that the accident was stated to have happened 5 months prior. Get around refuses to return my messages and requests for them to contact me via phone. Their accusation is completely baseless and I am prepared to report them to the authorities for fraud unless this is resolved swiftly.

I had the worst experience with my rental car using getaround
I had the worst experience with my rental car using getaround. I went 13 miles from my home to shop and the whole trip the car was fine but once I was about to head home, one of the front left tire just randomly deflated. There was no collision, nothing on the ground, the tire just randomly deflated in the parking lot. I have videos of the parking lot and the car when this incident happened and I have picture and video proof. I have been charged $75 for this maintenance issue but I have not damaged the car at all. This is the responsibility of the owner of car and getaround to keep the car safe and maintained for the customers, the customer should not be responsible for the maintenances of the car. The road side assistance took an hour to show up and fix the tire and delayed my trip back home and to find parking which caused me to get a late fee of another $50 dollars. 1 hour extension is not enough to find parking here in ***. The car tire randomly popped just as I was to go home and park the car but it delayed for a very long time. I have never had such a bad experience with a rental car like I have with today. The amount of fees charged to my card is outrageous for something that I am not responsible for. Please do a full investigation on this matter.

On October 16 I requested a 2021 *** Versa through the app Getaround
On October 16 I requested a 2021 *** Versa through the app Getaround. I got the car at 2pm on that Saturday the 16th and not even 24 hours later I attempted to get in the car and start it and it would not start. I contacted Getaround to assist me with the problem and they suggested me getting out the vehicle and they locked and unlocked the car remotely and the car still would not start. I called the owner of the vehicle and he said that this isn't the first time that this type of issue has happened with his car while using the Getaround app. I sent Getaround videos of the signal that popped up on the dashboard to show the problem. The issue was with the connect device that allowed the car to start the owner of the car had the vehicle's firmware looked at after he paid for the tow to get the car moved (Getaround doesn't pay for tows) and found that there was a bug in the system. I spent time contacting Getaround and I was "reassured" that after the vehicle was inspected that I would receive a refund. I was charged a total of $378.62 part of which was a $150.00 temporary authorization fee that was SUPPOSEDLY sent back into my account but I don't see that return on my statement. It is now about to be a month later and I have yet to receive ANY information about the refund.

I rented a car from Getaround
I rented a car from Getaround. After the trip, getaround unilaterally sent me a notice claiming that my owner was asserting that I damaged the car. I did not incur any damages to the car, and I informed Getaround via e-mail that I did not do so. Without providing evidence of such allegation being true, Getaround unilaterally sent me an e-mail saying that I would be charged for the repair costs. I never authorized such charge but they used the credit card information they retained on my account. My credit card is over the limit. The car is parked in a valet assisted garage and the parking garage personnels regularly park this car and move them around. I had a friend with me during the trip, who will attest to the fact that we never got in any accident or collision that could have damaged the car. Valet both pulled out the car for me and I left the car in the parking garage because I was instructed to do so. I suspect that the damage, if there was one, must have been made by the valet parking service. Just because there was a damage made during the time window of my rental, because of the way this pick-up and drop-off location is set up, it is extremely unreasonable to conclude that I damaged the car. I took pictures before and after my trip, which did not show any damage being done to the car.

I rented a vehicle for the first time with Getaround
I rented a vehicle for the first time with Getaround. I had booked a trip and the trip was automatically cancelled on me and closed. I did not know how to return the vehicle so when I tried to return it the vehicle would not turn on. I guess it might have been disabled by the company and I thought the battery was dead. I contacted the company asking about this issue but I did not hear back from them until later. The next day I tried starting the vehicle, I messaged the owner to see if I could start the vehicle, I filed a complaint and nothing happened. Finally I decided to try to book the vehicle again so I can return the car and it happened that once I booked again I was allowed to return the vehicle. After this whole ordeal, I was charged a security deposit of $75.00, a late return fee of $75.00, then another late return fine of 50. Extension fine for ***, multiple booking fees, multiple extensions, and another late return fine. I have no idea how they calculated and added all these fines but I think this business is worst than a standard rental company. I ended paying *** for the total trip which should have only cost ***. The car should have never been disabled without my knowledge. THere was no communication of what the next steps should have been and the whole process was extremely frustrating and feels like abuse.
