Refused to honor 30 day trip credit even with severe illness
We paid over $4,000 for a trip to Ecuador on February 11, 2024 through Exoticca Travel. Due to a severe respiratory illness which was not going away, my Doctor recommended I cancel. We had a terrible 1st and last day on our holiday. BA cancelled our outboard flight, so after spending 45 mins on hold to exoticca, we got told they would get back to us! We spent the 1st night in London instead of Switerland. When we finally arrived the next night, after a manic 2 hour taxi ride to catch up with our tour, we arrived at the hotel, at 1.30am, but they did not have a room for us! Exoticca told us to pay for it ourselves and it back. When i suggested we might not have the funds she simply said i hope thats not the case.
Our direct return flight was cancelled by Exoticca as they thought, without consulting us, in case BA cancelled it!
Or connecting flight was then delayed in Brussels.
Our other members of the group said they would never use them again.
All they offered us, after waiting 3 months, was a voucher off our next booking! As if we would travel with them again.
We expected better service from a company as big as this.

Misleading information
We scheduled a trip to Peru through Exoticca for February 2022. I asked what the current Covid requirements were to enter Peru. We were told we need a PCR test to enter Peru on 2/9/22 by customer service. We never needed to show these test results to enter Peru. We sent $250.00 to get these tests done. I believe Exoticca should reimburse for these costs.
