Mixed Experience with Online Eyeglass Retailer: EyeglassesDepot Review
My experience with EyeglassesDepot, an eyeglass retailer that operates online at eyeglassesdepot.com, was a mixed bag. On one hand, the pre-paid shipping label they sent me after I placed an order on November 28th was a nice touch. However, their customer service left a lot to be desired.
Although I appreciated the SMS messages and emails I received reminding me to ship my order, I found it off-putting that the company continued to send me messages after I cancelled a scheduled USPS pickup on December 1st. I even replied to the spam-like messages with "STOP" and "I don't want to do business with you," but they persisted. I finally heard from a representative on December 9th who informed me that I owed a $9.99 cancel fee - something that was not disclosed in the terms of my purchase or on the company's aggreement.
While I ultimately paid the fee, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth and cannot in good conscience recommend this company to others. It's unfortunate that their shady business practices mar what might otherwise be a good customer experience.
Beware: Poor Repair and Attitude from EyeglassesDepot
I recently had an experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) that left a bad taste in my mouth. I needed a repair for my beloved Rayban Wayfarer spare glasses and opted to pay for genuine Rayban Polarized Amber lenses for a cost of $88. Unfortunately, what was delivered to me was a far cry from what I had paid for - cheap imitation lenses that resembled something you could find on Amazon for next to nothing.
When I reached out to Roberto for an explanation, he informed me that the real lenses were not available for my glasses. However, other repair shops seemed to tell me otherwise. The lenses I received were not the right tint, thin, and made of cheap, plastic material. To top it off, I'm fairly convinced these lenses aren't even polarized - something that was included in my payment.
To put it simply, if I had wanted something of this standard, I could have easily bought the Amazon lenses and installed them myself. With this kind of experience, it's safe to say EyeglassesDepot has lost my business. What's even worse is that Roberto seemed unbothered by this experience, saying that reviews didn't matter to him as he had thousands of daily website hits.
Aside from the poor repair, the attitude behind the experience was just as unpleasant. I still have copies of the emails exchanged if anyone is interested. Needless to say, this was a disappointing experience with EyeglassesDepot.
Negative review of EyeglassesDepot: Poor Service, Long Delays, and Unprofessionalism
My experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I had a pair of glasses that needed a repair, and when I asked for a quote, I was informed that they needed to physically have my glasses before they could provide a quote - despite me already knowing what needed to be fixed and the model of the glasses. This was frustrating, but I sent my glasses to them anyways.
Unfortunately, it took over two weeks for them to even start working on my estimate, which was unacceptable in my opinion. I was then told that they couldn't get the necessary parts for the repair, but they could replace the frames completely for a very high cost. Being without my glasses for five weeks because of their delay was already a huge inconvenience, and to be given a solution that was financially unreasonable was disappointing and unacceptable.
To add insult to injury, when I finally received my glasses back, they were missing the case that I had sent them in. When I reached out to them about this issue, I was met with a rude response stating that their policy clearly states not to mail glasses back with cases. This back-and-forth was frustrating, and the lack of customer service was evident.
All in all, I definitely wouldn't recommend EyeglassesDepot to anyone looking for a reliable and professional service. Their response time and communication were severely lacking, and their overall handling of my situation was not up to par.
Terrible Experience with EyeglassesDepot: A Warning to All
I had a really terrible experience with EyeglassesDepot and I want to warn everyone about it. To put it simply, I would never recommend anyone doing business with them. Recently, I needed to get my Maui Jim sunglasses repaired and I found myself on their website after being redirected there by mistake. They seemed to offer repair services, so I sent in my glasses which had a broken nosepiece, separately and carefully packed in a Maui Jim hard case.
Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill from there. EyeglassesDepot was confused about how to fix my sunglasses and their service department was incredibly rude in their communications. Eventually, they claimed that they couldn't fix them at all and that I would have to pay them to have them shipped back.
When my sunglasses finally did return, it was clear that they had been handled very poorly. They had been thrown together in a cheap, plastic snack bag and shipped that way. As a result, the lenses were scratched and damaged from rubbing against each other during transit. To add insult to injury, the hard case that I had shipped them in was nowhere to be found.
The whole experience was extremely unprofessional and left me feeling like I had been scammed. It was clear that EyeglassesDepot was no place that I or anyone else should ever do business with.
Nightmare Experience with EyeglassesDepot: Overpriced Repairs and Lost Sunglasses
Recently, I had to send in 3 pairs of Costa Delmar sunglasses to EyeglassesDepot for some nose piece repairs that needed attention. However, I was taken aback when they sent me-invoice to repair each nose piece for $99. With such a heavy price on a seemingly small repair, I was left with no other option but to request them to send my sunglasses back since I wasn't going to shell out another $300 for the repairs. The shipping was paid 2 days later, and I was under the impression that my sunglasses would be returned to me as requested. However, to my surprise, I received an email stating that I had abandoned the glasses and that they were not a "junkyard" to be leaving items unattended at their facility. To make matters worse, while one email conveyed that the glasses were disposed of, another email stated that they had been donated.
I immediately tried to contact their customer service multiple times with no avail, and each time I was told that the glasses were being sent back. However, the emails I was receiving strongly contradicted their claims. After this ordeal, I must say that my experience with EyeglassesDepot was nothing short of a nightmare. I would, therefore, caution anyone keen on doing business with them to first read other reviews and be very wary of their services.
Review: Avoid EyeglassesDepot for Repairs & Services - Misleading & Deceptive Practices
I recently had an experience with EyeglassesDepot, and unfortunately it was not a positive one. I was searching online for a repair service for my Maui Jim sunglasses, and came across their website. After receiving a quote from them for the repair, I was surprised to find that it was more than double the cost of any repair I had previously done through Maui Jim themselves. It simply didn't make sense to pay their exorbitant price when I could just as easily purchase a brand new pair.
When I informed EyeglassesDepot that I would not be proceeding with the repair and requested that they return my sunglasses to me, they informed me that I would need to pay for their services regardless, or be sent to a collection agency. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with their response and felt as though I was being duped.
In an effort to understand the situation better, I reached out to Maui Jim directly to ask for their thoughts on the matter. It turns out that they were well aware of EyeglassesDepot's practices and had been trying to get websites like theirs removed from search results altogether. I was advised by Maui Jim not to pay for anything and to avoid using their services altogether.
To add insult to injury, when I searched for their business address on Google Maps, I discovered that their "office" was actually just a small shack in New York. I requested that they return my glasses, but they demanded my bank account information first. Needless to say, I never received my sunglasses back, leading me to believe that they either still have them or have already sold them on eBay.
In summary, I would strongly advise against using EyeglassesDepot for any repairs or services. Their practices are misleading and deceptive, and I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through the same situation that I did.
EyeglassesDepot Review: Terrible Experience, Unreasonable Prices, and Poor Customer Service
The experience I had with EyeglassesDepot was nothing short of a nightmare. I had two pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses with hinge problems that needed repair, and after seeing on their website that the cost was only $35, I thought it would be a quick and inexpensive fix. However, to my shock and dismay, they quoted me $150 for the repair. I felt that this was way too expensive, and after voicing my concerns, they attempted to bargain with me, offering a slightly lower price of $120, which I still felt was exorbitant.
I requested that they send the glasses back to me, as I was not willing to pay such a high fee for a minor repair. However, when I asked how much it would cost to return the glasses, they quoted me an additional $12. After this, instead of receiving confirmation of the return, I received the devastating news that they had replaced the arms instead of sending the glasses back as is. I was appalled and felt as though I was being taken advantage of.
At this point, I was extremely frustrated and requested that they send the glasses back without fixing them as it was simply not worth the time and energy. However, they said that they had already thrown away the arms of the glasses and that I would have to pay for this. I was absolutely baffled that they would do something like this, especially after my request for the glasses to be sent back as soon as possible.
Throughout this entire ordeal, they were nothing but rude and disrespectful to me, leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. I am still waiting for my two pairs of Ray Bans that they broke the arms off of and threw away. I cannot believe that a business would refuse to make their error right and be so unprofessional in their manners.
I implore anyone who might be considering using EyeglassesDepot to think twice before doing so. The experience I had was terrible, and the owner's behavior was simply unacceptable. I feel that they are completely untrustworthy, and I doubt that they will ever send my glasses back to me in a usable condition. In fact, I just finally received the glasses, and they were never even fixed! I am extremely disappointed and would never recommend them to anyone.
Warning: My Horrific Experience with EyeglassesDepot - A Must Read Review to Avoid This Seller
As a genuine customer of EyeglassesDepot, I had a truly harrowing experience with this company and I would like to share my story to prevent others from going through the same ordeal. To start with, I must stress that I am in no way affiliated with any of their competitors.
I ordered my glasses from EyeglassesDepot on November 2nd. However, several weeks passed and my order was still not delivered. When I contacted the seller, they attributed the delay to the fact that the glasses were being shipped from Europe. Finally, they arrived on December 10th. However, even before I had received my order, I was bombarded with messages from the seller, asking me to leave a positive review and tipping them.
To my dismay, the glasses I received were not the ones that I had ordered. They were a different style, they didn't come with the authentic Chanel packaging, and honestly, the quality did not seem up to par. It also didn't help my suspicions that the glasses had been shipped from an Eastern European country without a Luxotica distribution center.
I immediately contacted the seller and requested a refund so I could return the glasses. The ordeal became even more arduous and unpleasant from that point onward. Firstly, the seller claimed that the glasses I originally ordered were discontinued and suggested that I keep the ones they sent for a discount. They then made a further promise to send me the correct glasses. However, throughout this whole exchange, there was a constant back-and-forth of rude and unprofessional messages and phone calls that made me feel like I was trying to haggle at a swap meet.
After several rounds of emails, the seller then offered to issue me a refund, but with the condition that I take down my negative review. I took down the review in good faith and the seller sent confirmation of the refund being processed. However, the very next day, the refund was inexplicably canceled and fell off my credit card. When I reached out to the seller yet again, they threatened to charge me $45 for disputing the transaction if I reposted my negative review.
And so, here I am – out of hundreds of dollars, going through the hassle of disputing the transaction with my credit card company and contemplating further legal action. I implore anyone reading this to learn from my experience and to avoid EyeglassesDepot at all costs. There are plenty of other trustworthy sellers out there that can provide you with the service and quality that you deserve.
Disappointing Experience with EyeglassesDepot: Overpriced Quotes, Poor Repair, and Unhelpful Customer Service
My experience with EyeglassesDepot wasn't great. I initially contacted them for a repair quote on my sunglasses as the rubber and plastic on the arms were separating. Unfortunately, the quote I received for a replacement frame was $119.99, which was more than what my sunglasses were worth. Despite my declining the offer, the company tried to convince me to accept it by stating that return shipping wasn't free. I agreed to pay for return shipping, but I was charged the repair cost as well during online checkout. After requesting that the error be fixed, I was offered a 20% discount, which was still too high for me.
When my sunglasses finally arrived, they were covered in super glue, and the case that accompanied it was missing. When I contacted customer service, they informed me that bulky cases would be disposed of, as their lab requests trays that aren't an exact match for cases. Although I appreciated that information, it didn't address the evident sabotage of my property. After asking for clarification, the response I received was dismissive and unhelpful.
Overall, my experience with EyeglassesDepot was disappointing. I wouldn't recommend their services, as they seem to be more focused on gouging customers with inflated prices rather than delivering quality service. So if you're looking to purchase from or utilize their repair service, I suggest staying away and finding a more reputable and customer-friendly provider.
EyeglassesDepot: A Nightmare Experience of Pestering, Outrageous Fees, and Unprofessional Behavior
I recently had an experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) that left me feeling frustrated, angry, and downright disgusted with the company. In fact, I took to the internet to write a review of my experience, but to my surprise, it has mysteriously disappeared.
Upon further research, however, it seems that my experience is not unique. Many other customers have reported similar issues, with titles such as "scam", "stay away", "shady", and "thieves" regularly popping up in reviews.
My troubles began after filling out a repair form online. Without even printing the form or packaging my glasses, EyeglassesDepot started harassing me several times a day with phone calls, emails, and texts, insisting that I send in my glasses for repair. This persistent pestering should have been my first sign that something wasn't right.
But things only got worse from there. After finally sending in my glasses, I was quoted a repair cost that was higher than what I had paid for the glasses themselves. When I declined the repair and asked for my glasses to be returned, I had to wait weeks and request my glasses back multiple times before they were finally shipped back to me. And even then, the nightmare wasn't over.
After finally receiving my glasses, I received an email stating that my customer service representative was requesting a tip-- a bizarre and unprofessional request that left me feeling uneasy. And then, the owner of the company began harassing me via text message at 3:50 in the morning, insisting that I leave a positive review and making bizarre comments about mistaking me for his ex.
All in all, my experience with EyeglassesDepot was the worst I have ever had with a company. The owner's responses to negative reviews were argumentative and aggressive, and I wouldn't be surprised if rumors that he is a convicted felon turned out to be true. I hope that others will hear about my experience and steer clear of this company.

EyeglassesDepot Review: Poor Repairs and Sneaky Return Fee Policy
Unfortunately, my experience with EyeglassesDepot did not end on a positive note. I had sent in my Adidas prescription glasses for a repair due to a broken hinge. After receiving their response that my glasses were unable to be repaired, they tried to upsell me for a new pair of glasses. However, I decided against purchasing a new pair and requested for my old glasses to be returned. Shockingly, I was informed that there would be a charge of $14 for their return. This left a bad taste in my mouth as I did not anticipate being held hostage for a return of my own property. It seemed like a sneaky tactic to force me into purchasing a new pair. Furthermore, I was able to find new parts for my Adidas frames elsewhere which makes the $14 return charge all the more mind-boggling. As a result, my experience with EyeglassesDepot has been regrettable and I would advise others to beware of their customer service policies.
Stay Far Away from EyeglassesDepot: A Review of Terrible Service and Poor Customer Experience
It is important to note that EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) should not be confused with other businesses that share a similar name and have positive reviews. This company is a total sham. Not only do they lie, but they are also incredibly rude and have absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. Their constant hounding of customers with emails and texts at midnight is completely inappropriate. They have even gone as far as sending USPS to customers' homes if they don't mail their repair quickly enough! But that's not even the worst part. After treating you terribly and providing subpar service, they will have the audacity to send you a text message asking for a gratuity. Apparently, they don't make enough money and feel entitled to a tip. It's outrageous! The list of complaints about this business goes on and on. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from EyeglassesDepot.
Disappointing Experience with Eyeglasses Depot: Delayed Return of Authentic Sunglasses & Poor Customer Service
I recently had an experience with EyeglassesDepot and unfortunately, it was not a positive one. I sent in a pair of Maui Jim's sunglasses back in August of 2021 and was informed by an Eyeglasses Depot representative that the sunglasses were fake. I was taken aback by this as I had purchased them from a reputable dealer and believed them to be genuine. However, I decided to communicate with the representative and sent over the receipt from the dealer that sold them in order to prove their authenticity.
After verifying the authenticity of the sunglasses, I received emails from Eyeglasses Depot stating that they would be shipped back to me. However, I was tasked with handling the shipping costs and ended up paying for both the shipping to the Eyeglasses Depot facility and the return shipping. While I have receipts proving that I paid for both, unfortunately, I have yet to receive my sunglasses back to this day. Furthermore, I have had to endure several excuses from a representative named Anthony who provided me with different stories as to why the sunglasses are not yet in my possession.
Overall, my experience with Eyeglasses Depot was disappointing and frustrating. Despite providing clear evidence that my sunglasses were genuine, I have yet to receive them back and have had to deal with multiple excuses from a representative. I hope that they will rectify this situation and that others will not have to go through a similar experience.

Misleading pricing and poor customer service from EyeglassesDepot
I recently had an experience with EyeglassesDepot that I feel compelled to share. I found their website while searching for a solution to repair the scratches on my prescription eyeglasses. After contacting them for an estimate, they sent me an invoice for $61 which included the shipping cost. I accepted the offer, as it seemed reasonable. However, to my dismay, they promptly sent me another invoice for a whopping $212. When I pointed out that I had already accepted the earlier invoice and paid the agreed amount, they simply replied that it was a mistake and that I had to pay the higher amount.
I refused to pay the extra cost and demanded that they honor the deal that had been agreed upon. They then offered to lower the price to $175, but I still felt uncomfortable with the sudden change in the price. Eventually, I decided to ask for my glasses to be returned and after several days of constant back and forth, they relented and agreed to send them back. However, they insisted on charging me $12.99 to cover the shipping costs.
Overall, I am disappointed by my experience with EyeglassesDepot. It is disheartening to receive an invoice for an agreed upon price, only to be hit with another invoice almost four times higher. The fact that they then tried to pressure me into accepting a lower offer and charging me for an error that they made just added insult to injury. I hope that they can improve their communication and business practices in the future, so others do not have to experience what I had to endure.
Terrible experience with EyeglassesDepot: Dishonest and Untrustworthy Company with Poor Customer Service
If you are in the market for a new pair of eyeglasses, it's important to know about the experiences of other customers before making a purchase. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) that left me feeling frustrated and ripped off.
Firstly, I found this company to be incredibly dishonest and untrustworthy. After placing an order for frames and sending my payment, I was informed that the frames were out of stock and no longer being manufactured. Instead of offering me a refund, they tried to pressure me into purchasing a different set of frames that I didn't even want.
After requesting my money back, I have been waiting for a refund since May 20, 2021, and as of October 4, 2021, I still have not received it. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of professionalism and respect for their customers.
Overall, I do not recommend doing business with EyeglassesDepot. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a company that values honesty and transparency in their dealings with customers.
Unreliable and Disappointing: My Experience with EyeglassesDepot
I must say, my experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) has been nothing short of disappointing. In hindsight, I should have taken the time to read reviews before entrusting them with my beloved frames that had scratch marks on the lens. I was initially quoted $150 for the repair of the scratches and replacement of the lenses. However, the price tag was more than what I had paid for the frames. Nevertheless, the sentimental value attached to the glasses made me agree to the quote.
Fast forward a few days, and I received an email from them stating that the frames had been shipped back to me. But, when I tracked the shipment, I realized that the items had never been picked up. When I contacted their customer service, I was given the runaround for two whole months, with them claiming that the post office had lost my glasses.
To make matters worse, when I did receive a response from them via email, the message was poorly written, with incorrect grammar and no proper punctuation. At this point, I have lost all faith in the company and to be frank, I think they are nothing but thieves. I have a strong feeling that either my frames have been kept without my consent, or they have been re-sold to someone else.
In conclusion, I would never recommend EyeglassesDepot to anyone, and I hope that karma comes back to them in full force.
Warning: Dishonest and Fraudulent Practices at EyeglassesDepot - Avoid at All Costs
I had a less than desirable experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) recently. I entrusted them with repairing my RayBan frames which required a replacement temple. While my lenses were in perfect condition, I was quoted approximately $100 for the replacement temple. While this quote was relatively cheaper than other places, I was disappointed with the subsequent service.
Upon receiving my glasses, I was shocked to find that they had been replaced with an entirely different frame that was cracked and had no lenses. This unexpected turn of events was frustrating, and I quickly voiced my concerns to the company. They assured me that they would return my original frames with a new temple, so I returned the defective pair.
Unfortunately, several months have passed, and I have yet to receive my original frames back. Despite sending numerous emails and receiving countless excuses, I have not managed to get any resolution from EyeglassesDepot. This poor experience has left me feeling frustrated and out of pocket with no resolution in sight.
As such, I would advise anyone who is considering doing business with EyeglassesDepot to reconsider their decision. In my opinion, they are dishonest and fraudulent in their practices. If you send in a pair of glasses that are in decent shape, they will resell them and send you back something of much lower quality. Avoid doing business with this company - they are scam artists.
Disappointing Customer Service from EyeglassesDepot: My Experience with Chrome Hearts Sunglasses Purchase
I recently purchased a pair of Chrome Hearts sunglasses and some extra clear tinted lenses from EyeglassesDepot, and unfortunately, my experience with them was less than pleasant. Despite paying a significant amount of money for my order and also investing in an extended warranty, I found that the owner, Sam, was not very accommodating when it came to resolving an issue with my purchase.
After waiting for over two months to receive my order, I discovered that the extra clear tinted lens I had received was the wrong tint. Naturally, I reached out to Sam to try and rectify the issue. However, instead of offering a helpful solution, he essentially told me that I should just accept the wrong tint and settle with what was provided.
When I explained that the tint was too light and not what I had requested or approved, he simply dismissed my concerns and claimed that I had, in fact, approved it. This was not at all the case, and I was left feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed by the customer service provided by EyeglassesDepot.
On top of this, it was difficult to even get in touch with the company as their phone lines were not answered, and when I did finally manage to speak with someone, it was clear that the customer service was being managed by individuals located in India - which only added to my frustration and made me feel like my concerns were not being taken seriously.
In conclusion, based on my experience with EyeglassesDepot, I would strongly advise anyone considering using their services to stay far away. The carelessness and lack of concern for customers demonstrated by the company, coupled with poor communication and overall bad service, make them an untrustworthy and unreliable option.
Unfortunate Experience with EyeglassesDepot: Overpriced Repair and Poor Customer Service
I recently had an unfortunate experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) and I feel compelled to share it with others. I needed to replace the hinge on a pair of sunglasses - a repair that should have been relatively simple and inexpensive. According to their website, this repair starts at $35.00 plus an additional $15.00 for spring type hinges. Sounds great, right? Unfortunately, that was not the case.
After sending my sunglasses in, I received an estimate for a whopping $150.00! That's a far cry from the advertised starting price, but hey, maybe there were some additional services included, right? Well, turns out there were two optional services - ultrasonic cleaning and another service that I can't even recall - that I certainly did not ask for or require. Even if you eliminate those, I was still looking at a repair cost of $99.00 - a far cry from the $35.00 to $50.00 I was expecting.
Naturally, I attempted to contact the company to sort things out. I tried calling them but was unable to get through to anyone. I then tried their chat feature, only to be met with a dismissive response from the representative. Apparently, EyeglassesDepot had no time for "chit chat" with clients. When I explained my situation and disappointment with the estimate, the representative replied with a curt "no can do." Needless to say, this was not the level of customer service I was expecting.
In the end, I ended up paying an additional $15.00 to have my sunglasses shipped back unrepaired. All in all, this was a total rip-off and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company at all costs.
Highly Irregular and Unprofessional Experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com)
My experience with EyeglassesDepot (eyeglassesdepot.com) was highly irregular and unprofessional. I had sent in three pairs of sunglasses for repairs, and unfortunately, the whole ordeal was far from satisfactory. I encountered a number of disturbing interactions with the company, and unfortunately, whilst receiving the sunglasses back, I came to learn that the third pair had either been misplaced or stolen by the company itself. Even worse, neither of the two returned sunglasses were properly repaired; one of them had mismatched temples, and the other hadn't even been fixed at all.
What's even worse is that the owner of the company is now actively harassing me over text, email, and online because I had the audacity to leave a negative review of their services. It seems to me, given everything that's happened, that the person behind EyeglassesDepot is none other than Vitaly Borker, a person who was recently named and shamed in a New York Times article for similar fraudulent practices. I highly recommend anyone considering doing business with this company to read the article and think twice before engaging with them.
