FareGeek This company, if you can even call it that, is a total scam

This company, if you can even call it that, is a total scam. I've never had such a terrible experience booking a trip online. I couldn't get through to anyone helpful after 10 attempts to call and email them. Be warned, do NOT buy anything from these scammers. I can't believe they are even allowed to operate.

FareGeek Don't buy tickets with them

DON'T BUY TICKETS WITH THEM, $#*!tiest website and customer service I have seen, booked two tickets, paid for, got confirmation, after 10 minutes it's been canceled due to "glitch in the system", customer service did not even apologized and found me fare of $400 more, DON'T BUY TICKETS WITH THEM.

FareGeek Beware buying a ticket through them

This fake company is operating by one or two fellows in India. Beware buying a ticket through them. There were so many restrictions that I lost half of my ticket and they wanted to charge me more than the Airline itself for a return ticket. Every time we call them, we get the same follow from India on line. He calls himself, Rone, and each time he tells a different story. He kept refereeing us to the airlines, American Airlines, the AA kept sending back to him. The worse ever experience in using an agent to book a ticket!

I recently returned from a trip to New York that I booked via FareGeek. After reading lots of (mainly negative) reviews I promised I'd share my experiences after the trip...
The tickets were cheap (much cheaper than direct with the airline) and although I thought it was too good to be true, I booked anyway.

After I booked I didn't receive email confirmation of my ticket from the airline and started to read some reviews (a lot of which were negative) and became very worried. I tried to phone them up but was on hold for ever (most reviews also state this). I did email them however and received prompt responses assuring me to stay tight and that the e-tickets might take over 24 hours to arrive.

After a sleepless night, sure enough the next day I received confirmation of the tickets and could login to the airline's booking system and check the details. Although this was a massive relief I still worried that the agent (FareGeek) could cancel the booking.

The end result was that everything was fine and if I hadn't had read any reviews I wouldn't have worried and thought anything of it really. After receiving the booking confirmation, the rest of the process was like it would have been if we'd booked direct through the airline, although the tickets were cheaper! Something FareGeek explain on their FAQ (http://faregeek.com/faq.php).

I have NEVER experienced such inept service in my life. Stay away from this company!
I booked five reservations for a flight to London. A month later, I had to cancel two of them. First of all, they double-billed me for the cancellation. I tried emailing them twice through their "guaranteed response within 24 hours" website. No response to either email. I called. Of course, this is in India, and whoever you get has no idea who you spoke to before, what your issue is, etc. I was passed around to three people. Again, nothing resolved. I finally just cancelled the payment on my Visa. They still never responded, even to that. Next, I called to double-check on the cancellations and found they had not cancelled two, but had cancelled three, of the reservations. I had to go through hell to get it reinstated. Now I find out that they reinstated the wrong reservation! By the way, I can't get any of my money back, either. So I paid them to take my reservation money? I am now trying to work through the airline I used to see if I can get my credit back. I hate this company...

Horrible experience. I made reservation with them but I never received any confirmation emails. I decided to cancel because I couldn't wait any longer and called them. They said the tickets were already issued and I'm not allowed to cancel. I was calling and talking with them many times until then to see the status of tickets because it was still not issued according to my account. I asked them full refund but they said it's not possible. Now I'm going to stop the payment through a credit card company. I can't waste $3200 like this. Stay away from these Indians. I was also forwarded to their site when I was trying to book my flight through United airline. Is that possible? When I click "make reservation" on UA page and faregeek site showed up. I thought they are outsourcing the booking agent and I booked through faregeek.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE...THEY CANCEL YOUR TICKETS A WEEK LATER... VERY SNEAKY AND DISHONEST!

This company is terrible - DO NOT USE THEM TO BOOK ANYTHING. They are dishonest, disreputable, awful people to deal with - If you truly want to have a good trip DO NOT book with FAREGEEK - even if they are the last place on earth to book a trip with - I'd rather ride a bus. You can pay a few more dollars and make your trip memorable in a nice way by booking through Expedia or Travelocity. This company will provide an unpleasant memory and we all know that we work hard for our money and want to enjoy our trips and not get ripped off or scammed. That is what Faregeek will do.

I booked on fare geek several weeks prior to my expected departure. Exactly 1 week before I was set to leave I received an e-mail from them saying my flight was cancelled. Upon calling customer service to find out why, I sat on hold for 35 minutes and ended up speaking to someone who apparently has no control over their bookings. From the conversation, I learned than the price that they had advertised on the site, the price I purchased at was not available. They said they do not charge our cards until the ticket is issued, in that time period the price had changed to the tune of DOUBLE. So, my $774 dollar fare turned into a $1500 fare, quite literally. They informed me that they had contacted me regarding the price change of which I received no contact, nothing on the answering machine, nothing in my e-mail at all. They insisted that they had, and I was obviously wrong. They also noted that they were not in control of the fare prices. Why would they confirm my cost then, send me a confirmation e-mail and then try to tell me that their confirmation wasn't valid. What good are they then as a travel broker if the prices they advertise would change between the time you CONFIRM the flight and the time they finally decide to charge the card and lock in the fare. I'm extremely dissatisfied and will NOT ever be booking with them again.

I booked my boyfriend a plane ticket from Manchester United Kingdom to Roanoke Virginia this was an e-ticket. Well so goes my story and this happens Monday Feb 16 2005on the site it was confirmed and pd a ticket for 574.00 well I was charged my boyfriend got to Manchester airport and waited 9 hours well time to board and not a dam ticket booked at all ive emailed them several times and have had no reply I reported to the BBA .. DO NOT EVER BOOK A FLIGHT WITH THESE PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THEIR SITE . I even had a phone call confirming the flight and everything ... USE lastminute.com

I just bought a ticket through Bookairfare which is the same as faregeek through this new side called Skyscanner, well i booked it with insurance and insurance against cancellations and the entry went through and the comment on insurance was that it was sold out and not available (how can insurance be sold out) well long story short after much crying they said that they would cancel ticket but I had to pay $865. cancellation fee when I was supposed to be covered with insurance. Biggest bad people ever I told him how he slept at night taking money from a mother and children who have not been home in 25 years. I am disgusted and disappointed.

This is not a good website. I received an invoice for one amount and my card was charged another on two different flights that I made reservations for about a week apart. When I called to ask why both times, I was given two different answers that made NO sense. Needless to say, I will not be booking through this site EVER again. I kind of feel as though the extra money might be going directly into someone's pocket. LESSON LEARNED :)
