FAS replaced all the windows in our townhome a while back
FAS replaced all the windows in our townhome a while back. It's been a few years and the windows are still holding up and insulating well. Today, on May 141, we needed a small fix and James C. came over to do the repair. While he was here, he checked the other windows and did some adjustments on a couple of them. The bathroom windows' top sash needed some lubrication, and he took care of it. James also gave us some helpful advice and tips. We want to thank him and FAS for providing a good product and great follow-up service. We really appreciate it. Barbara W, Seminole, FL.
We bought 2 sets of double doors and a single door, all outside a few years back
We bought 2 sets of double doors and a single door, all outside a few years back. The weather stripping started coming out of all of them during summer of 2020. We know the supply chain is slow, but now it's 2022 and still nothing. A guy came over with the wrong product (how did they mess that up during installation), and months later after complaining, the secretary said she would get it from the next supply truck. Again, wrong product. We spent lots of money and have a warranty they're not following. They don't care about you once they have your money. We want our weather stripping and an extended warranty since this has taken so long. Be careful, they can't support their products.
I got my 4 panel slider replaced by FAS windows and doors like 3 weeks ago
I got my 4 panel slider replaced by FAS windows and doors like 3 weeks ago. It cost me over $7,000. But guess what? After the installer left, I noticed that one of the fixed panels wasn't even secured to the frame. Can you believe it? My home is basically open to anyone! I tried reaching out to them, but their communication skills are just terrible. Finally, today, some girl from their office called me to say they got the replacement panel. But get this, they can't come until December 10th! That's like another 2 weeks of my home being vulnerable. You'd think they would make this a priority, but no one seems to care. All I want is to lock my doors at night and feel safe. Is that too much to ask for?
Worst company I ever worked with
Worst company I ever worked with. Signed contract in June , still not done. They been here 8 times to finish, but never got right parts. I went to Lowes and bought trim myself, did it. Water leak in front window, ruined floor in living room. Tech took pics, FAS never got back. When I talked to someone about ruined floor, she said no record of leak or ruined floor. Sent pics, she still denied. They took $2500 off price, but cost 1/3 to fix floor and trim. Took them 2.5 years, estimated 25 times here. Don't use this company, clueless!
Horrible experience - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY DESERVE NO STARS
Horrible experience - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY DESERVE NO STARS. It was a horrible experience when we ordered our windows and new door back on August 21st. We were told it would take 10 weeks before they would be in and installed. However, it took until December, about 4 months, before they finally came in and were installed. It felt like we kept getting a runaround and the same answers that the delay was due to COVID. Finally, when the installers arrived, they seemed like they knew what they were doing and were very professional. But, while they were using a hammer drill to screw the windows in, they damaged all 4 window casings and a piece of the sliding door frame. The glass in the windows also have imperfections and bubbles in them, they are defective. We have emailed and called the store back several times, but there is still no solution. It feels like we are being avoided now. Their representative, Josh, came out after the installation was done to tidy things up, and he was great to talk to. He even noticed the flaws in the product and the damage from the installation. My wife finally spoke to someone who was ordering new glass for 3 of the 4 new windows, but nothing is being done about the damaged casings. This is very unacceptable as we paid several thousands of dollars and now have damaged windows that need replacing. Additionally, 2 windows were put in too tight and are bowing, making it difficult to open and close them smoothly. No representative has ever come out except for their finish installer who saw all of these issues. We have never received a call from the owner or manager unless we called them first. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I work in the customer service field myself. We were so excited to get new windows, but now we regret using this company as it has turned into a nightmare with no solution from them yet. The only solution seems to be replacing all my windows since their installers damaged them. We didn't pay for these to be damaged. We were planning to have them do more windows, but we will absolutely go somewhere else now. I would NEVER recommend them after all this and their lack of communication and taking action to right a wrong with us, their customer. RUN, CALL SOMEONE ELSE - CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS and THEY DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR CARE ABOUT YOU AFTER THEY GET YOUR MONEY!

I paid for all my windows to be installed in May
I paid for all my windows to be installed in May . They were installed wrong in July . It has been over a year and still not complete. I paid in full and they have been out at least five times. I have been in communication over 30 times. My windows still have gaps, broken seals, and can't pass inspection. The company keeps putting it back on me, the consumer, to fix their problems. I want a refund.
On May 1, I wrote a check to FAS for $3,212.50 for two sets of sliders door for our home
On May 1, I wrote a check to FAS for $3,212.50 for two sets of sliders door for our home. The salesman wrote on my paperwork and said it would take 8-9 weeks in total. I've contacted them many times to speed up the project. They came on 8/8 with doors, but they were made wrong due to their mistake. Now, I can't get a truthful answer from them about this purchase. I think my only option is to ask the ComplaintsBoard.com for help to fix this issue.
I bought windows from FAS Windows & Doors in December '20
I bought windows from FAS Windows & Doors in December '20. They were installed in March '21. After the first inspection failed on April 30th, they finally passed the second inspection. However, the job is still not finished, and I haven't heard from anyone at the company about completing it. It's been a whole month, and despite sending emails and making phone calls, I haven't received any response. I even reached out to the Director of Operations and another Operations manager, but they haven't answered either. I've already made two payments to a financial company, even though the job isn't done yet. FAS already got their money, but I can't stop making payments because it would negatively impact my credit. I've attached the email with all the other email exchanges for reference.

FAS Windows was hired to put in all our windows
FAS Windows was hired to put in all our windows. They started on Sept 6 and finished on Sept 17th. We had a lot of complaints about the service and installation and we're still getting the runaround to fix it. On Sept 30th, the city inspector, Ms. S, came to our house and the inspection didn't pass. Ms. S sent the inspection to FAS right away and FAS is saying it doesn't match the inspection report. Not sure what that means, but today FAS Debbie, Director of Operations, and Larry the Finance guy are coming to our house to check out the windows. FAS says their subcontractors are really good, but we're really worried the job will be done badly again.
I ordered 7 windows from FAS Windows & Doors in October
I ordered 7 windows from FAS Windows & Doors in October . However, the installation didn't start until April . It's now March 10, 2022, and I still haven't received a replacement for the broken window. The first replacement broke in the warehouse, the second replacement was the wrong shape, and the third replacement was also broken at the warehouse. The installation process was a complete nightmare. The contractor or employee from FASWD would tell me they were coming, so I took time off work, but they wouldn't call or show up. To make matters worse, when I purchased a new front door from another company, FASWD ended up chipping it. The first set of 16 windows went smoothly, but the second set has been an ongoing nightmare. I could continue listing all the things that went wrong, but it's not worth my time. I just want to be done with FASWD and hire another company to finish the job.
I bought the original windows from FAS Windows & Doors on March 31
I bought the original windows from FAS Windows & Doors on March 31. I paid $29792.00 upfront and the windows were installed a few months later. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the products from the factory. One of the windows was too small for the opening, so I wanted it replaced. Out of the 31 windows, one was really terrible. It would even shake when I tried to open it after a few months. Additionally, there were a lot of glazing issues with some of the large windows, which made it difficult to see clearly when looking out. FAS referred us to the company that made the windows, but it turned into a nightmare. They didn't show up to do the work and tried to bully us, insisting that nothing was wrong. FAS promised to fix the problems, but there were many excuses, no call backs, and rude behavior. I finally brought the issues to the attention of upper management in January , but the same problems persisted. When I mentioned that I thought the higher-ups were treating us poorly because we are older, a couple of repair people agreed. They seemed to think that they were making it difficult for us because they assumed we would just go away. They always promised to call us back and even tried to convince us that the window wasn't too small.
We signed up with FAS on 6/2 and paid half of the cost for the replacement windows
We signed up with FAS on 6/2 and paid half of the cost for the replacement windows. On 6/7, Mick came to measure. He said it would take 6-8 weeks for the windows to arrive, so end of August to early September, no problem. On July 20, DJ texted me and said the order was on hold because one window was not available. He fixed it, sent a new contract, and said it would take another 12 weeks. So now end of October. I called on 10/13 and 10/18 and left messages, but no one called back. I went on the website and used the live chat. Amanda called me back and said the windows had been in for a while, but the person who was supposed to schedule the installation was on vacation. Our installation is scheduled for November 11 & 12, 2021. I left six messages on three different phone numbers, but no one responded to confirm the installation. *** Funny thing happened - The Director of FAS Operations called me while I was writing this complaint. She confirmed our installation for next week and apologized for the lack of communication. I will update this as things happen.
I hired FAS to replace three big sliders about 6 months ago
I hired FAS to replace three big sliders about 6 months ago. We paid $6,500 and were told the doors would be delivered and installed in February. But guess what? No doors yet and no communication from them. We signed an agreement and paid a deposit, and they gave us a Customer Folder with all the papers. The sales rep and the paperwork said the doors would be ready in 12-14 weeks after the "Tight Measure." We scheduled that and expected the doors in mid-Feb 2020. But after that, FAS went silent. We tried calling and emailing them, but no response. Finally, Tammy from FAS answered and blamed us for the delay, saying they were waiting for a form from us. But that was a lie! We didn't need any HOA approval, and the form she mentioned wasn't in our Customer Folder. I asked her to send it, and she emailed a digitally altered form. It was obvious they added checkmarks and signatures digitally. She couldn't explain why they didn't contact us about the form or the delay. By then, four months had passed, and she apologized for not communicating and promised to "expedite" the order. We decided to give them another chance. That was two months ago, and since then, we haven't heard a word from them. No updates, no return calls. They had no problem taking our money six months ago, but they can't seem to fulfill their obligations.
Our windows have bad installation
Our windows have bad installation. We haven't received a replacement for the damaged product. The installation on every window is wrong. We still haven't received the window. This nightmare started on 5/29 when we paid FAS to install windows and doors. To date, we still don't have a dining room window. The windows are bowed and there are drilled holes in our window sills covered with calk. The screens are broken and the bathroom window rubs glass on glass. The handles are chipped and there is privacy glass in the Florida room and bedroom. There is a gap between the sash and window frame in the dining room window. We keep getting scratch and dent sale merchandise. What was supposed to be a four-day job has now taken 6 months. There is no communication. They sent an installer's girlfriend, who is a medical transcriptionist and far from a professional installer, to help with the installation. No level was used to square and plumb the windows, and they were all installed incorrectly. I call all the time but no one calls back. They sent a crew one day, who we fed lunch to, but nothing was corrected except for repairing broken screens and applying calk. The joint on the bedroom window frame has a hole because it wasn't welded properly. They haven't lived up to their contract. We are constantly being given different ETA dates, starting back in August. Six months later, we still have nothing. I called *** myself as FAS blames them. They say they only send what FAS orders. They said they lost one of the dining room windows and still no window. This job will never pass inspection. This is the worst company to deal with. Buyer Beware. Choose another company. The installer cut himself on the job while taking out a window, and we had to call an ambulance and clean up the bloody mess. We haven't received any calls from FAS. I emailed John W but got no response. Debby H says it's vendor problems. On Nov 20, Steve Overby came by to tell us the window will be here on Dec 7. Debbie said Dec 9. They blame the vendor as the plant was shut down for 2 weeks. *** says it will take 1 week. These windows were ordered on May 29. It's like the dog ate the homework. We have been patient long enough. We want our money refunded as they haven't lived up to their contract of professional installers and quality products. We have damaged products, poor quality of work, or no products. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Also, this job is not completed within the timeframe allowed by our HOA and will be sent to litigation. Our permit with the county will expire in a couple of weeks. We didn't sign a contract for chip and dent sale merchandise or poor installation with a timeframe of 6 months to complete the job and horrible or no communication. Just refund us our money as you didn't live up to your contract. Our next step will be a legal one! *** 9800 impression windows sales rep Phillip K problem date Aug 6 paid $9183.00 deposit.
11/17 I placed an order with FAS Windows & Doors
11/17 I placed an order with FAS Windows & Doors. I paid 50% upfront. On 11/24, the board approved my order. On 12/21, FAS requested a change order. On 1/13, they informed me that they wouldn't proceed with the order unless I provided a board approval letter. My customer number is ***, and I paid $7502. I had previously worked with FAS sales rep Franco Messina, who helped me purchase 2 windows and 1 triple slider. After Hurricane Irma, I had an estimate and drawing for the entire condo, and I was familiar with the procedure and had previous board approval.
On 11/17, Franco gave me an estimate for the remaining 4 windows using the same drawings and specifications as in 2017, which were SIMONTON Series 9800. I paid 50% ($2113) and informed him that I wanted to present it to the board at their last meeting of 2020 on 11/23. FAS sent me an introductory email (from Amanda) stating that someone would come for the final measurement. I received board approval on 11/24. On 12/3, I emailed Amanda to inquire about the final measurement, informing her that the board had approved it. On 12/5, Nick came to measure the windows, and we discussed the regulations regarding distance from the bathtub and blinds for one bathroom. There were no other concerns.
However, on 12/21, 16 days later, Franco emailed me to inform me that Simonton couldn't make the 2 bathroom windows. This was already 5 weeks past the original order. The drawing was the same as the one submitted to the board for approval in 2017. We exchanged confusing emails, and I realized that he had forgotten to include LOW E on one window. He also wanted me to take it back to the board, but there were no more meetings scheduled. He should have noticed his mistake weeks ago and known which windows he could sell or waited for the final measurement. Additionally, the windows in question were very small, and the board's concern was whether we were altering the walls and enlarging the openings, which we were not. I told him that if the board had an issue, it was my responsibility. He never mentioned needing a copy for his file, not in 2017, not in 2018 before installation, not in November when I placed the order, and not now. It is also not mentioned in the contract. The change order on 12/21 is for series 5500, which I believe is not the premium series (Series 9800) that I paid for. They claim they are not charging me, but perhaps they should be offering a discount.
On 1/13, I asked Frank about the installation timeline since it was originally estimated to take 10-12 weeks. He said that as soon as they receive acknowledgments from the factory, he would be able to provide an estimate. He mentioned that COVID was causing issues. Later that same day, on 1/13, I received an email from Amanda asking if I had sent over the HOA approval letter. She couldn't find it in the file and needed it for permitting. I informed her that it was approved in December (actually November 24) and that we (the condo) needed it to move forward. I questioned why FAS needed it in their file according to Seminole County permitting regulations. They have had my money for 2 months. Were the windows even ordered? When can I expect delivery and installation? Every time I ask a question, FAS responds with another question. My latest response was a phone call from someone in Tampa who left a message, but I haven't been able to reach them. It seems to me that perhaps my windows were never ordered, and they are blaming it on COVID. Now, they are suggesting that I (the customer) am at fault, rather than the company.
Services rendered in May still not done
Services rendered in May still not done. Repairs not complete, inspection not complete and communication bad. Permit issued on 5/15 for FAS to start work on my home. We hired them to replace 21 windows and 1 door (basically the whole house). The crew finished their part by end of May. When we walked through, we saw damaged window sills, frames, broken windows, broken stucco, wrong windows, and lots of patchwork needed. Crew said the next team would fix everything. On 6/4 and 6/5, a technician came to "clean up" and inspect the initial work. We told them about the damages and they said they would fix it. Days and weeks passed with no answer to our calls. Our contact person left the company and didn't follow up on our concerns. Luckily, our sales rep still answered our calls and connected us with a supervisor. He came to the house and shared our concerns. He said someone would call us right away to fix the damages and incomplete work. That was in mid-July. More days and weeks passed with no communication. We called again and they said they were waiting for supplies from the manufacturer. We waited through August and September with no contact. Finally, I messaged the sales rep and expressed my frustration. I asked for any help he could provide. He told me that our rep was no longer with the company and our paperwork got "lost in the shuffle". The supervisor came back to the house and noticed that all our windows still had inspection stickers. We told him we were still waiting for the initial job to be finished and hadn't been inspected yet. He said someone would call us tomorrow to take care of it. After that visit, we waited. We waited through September and half of October with no contact. I went back to the sales rep and told him I was out of patience. I said I would complain to the ComplaintsBoard.com. He said he was in the office and would find someone for me to talk to right away. I called that person and left a voicemail. They called me back in a couple of days. I thought finally someone could give me answers, but I was wrong. They said FAS was still waiting for materials from the manufacturer. I told them I was frustrated. My biggest concern was the lack of communication from the company. They apologized and said they expected a shipment the following week, which would have been Halloween week. I asked them to update me by the end of the following week. As I write this complaint, it's 11/14 and I still haven't heard anything. It's been about six months since the permit was issued. The job is not done. My windows haven't been inspected. One of them doesn't meet hurricane code for the state and we've had many named storms. I'm tired of always having to contact FAS. They've shown me that they don't respect consumers and don't involve them in the process. I told them that any future communication would go directly to the ComplaintsBoard.com and I gave them a chance to respond. Now I'm reaching out to you in the hope that my concerns will be heard. I won't mention any names out of respect for privacy. Thank you.
