This company is a huge letdown
This company is a huge letdown. They managed and advertised a house with an above ground spa, but after we gave them our deposit, they told us it wasn't working. They gave us two options: either pay out of pocket to fix it or pay to have it removed. On top of that, the refrigerator, dishwasher, and built-in microwave that were advertised also don't work (they still don't work after two weeks). The ceiling fan, garage doors, and main water faucet are also not working. The kitchen's hot water wasn't even hooked up, and the dishwasher flooded the entire kitchen floor. Around 5 doors in the house don't close properly, the guest bathroom has a broken shower head, and the blinds are stained and ruined. As if that's not enough, the yard and back patio are infested with scorpions and black widows. We have 5 children and a dog, a family of 7, and we trusted this company and spent a lot of money to move in here. But once you sign the papers, they don't care about anything else. It's really sad. The staff is extremely defensive and doesn't care to listen to any concerns you might have about the property.

Firebird Housing be chargin' crazy high prices for them security deposits
Firebird Housing be chargin' crazy high prices for them security deposits. I got pictures, videos, and people vouchin' for me, but they ain't payin' no mind. I even got an email from a boss lady admittin' the damage and sayin' I ain't gotta pay. But all them reviews be sayin' the same thing (they don't give deposits back), yet they still got an A+ rating with y'all. How in the world is that even happenin'?
9/20/2022 I wanted to check out one of their rentals they got for rent
9/20/2022 I wanted to check out one of their rentals they got for rent. They wouldn't let me peep the crib until I hand over a copy of my credit card. Why they need my credit card copy, man? I ain't cool with giving out my credit card digits. I asked if there's another way to peep their listings. They straight up said no. I've given my driver's license to other companies when I checked out their spots. I get showing proof of who I am, but my credit card info? Is this legit for a company to ask for?

I owned a property for about 14 years in an undisclosed location
I owned a property for about 14 years. Firebird managed it for me. I put in $500.00 as a deposit for repairs. The last tenant left on 1/31/2022, and I ceased seeking new tenants on 2/22/2022, planning to sell. I returned the lock box and keys on 2/23/2022, expecting a prompt refund. After a week, I inquired, and was told of a 30-day hold. On 3/23/2022, I followed up, but I've yet to receive the refund or further communication.
I moved into a rental property in 2019 and was supposed to move out in 2020
I moved into a rental property in 2019 and was supposed to move out in 2020. They did a 6-month inspection while I was living there, and 6 months later, I moved out because it was only a 1-year lease. When I moved into the home, I had to do my own inspection. The house was dirty, with wood flooring lifting and dirty baseboards, and so on. When it was time to move out, I followed all the rules and even left the house and backyard cleaner and in better condition than when I got it. I was sure that I would get some, if not all, of my security deposit back.
I was shocked and upset when I didn't receive my refund within the given time frame. I reached out to Firebird Housing, but they ignored me for weeks. Finally, I threatened to involve my attorney, and then they emailed me back, saying that the refund had already been sent out. I waited another two weeks, but still received nothing. I called again, and they told me they didn't know what happened and that they would send it to me by email. I was appalled when I received the email stating that I wouldn't get anything back and that I owed them money! I was so upset. I called the office and told them I wanted to dispute their decision. I had taken pictures during my move-out inspection, which proved that the house was in excellent shape and that everything they said I wouldn't get my money back for was actually completed.
I emailed these people every day for 2 weeks, but I got no response at all. They are highly unprofessional, and it makes me sick to my stomach that they can get away with robbing their tenants. Now I am out a significant amount of money because of them. Whatever you do, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! They are a joke!
During the application process, when I filled out the application online, it was supposed to tell me that it's not first come first serve
During the application process, when I filled out the application online, it was supposed to tell me that it's not first come first serve. You disclosed this information to me through a text message after you received my money. You politely spoke to me through text, but please answer me through email as well. After five days, I called you only to find out that I didn't even get the place. I find this to be false advertising. You had my main income verification payslip, and if you were waiting for the other income check stub as you implied, then you should have let me know or waited. I cannot wait for you, so I would need to look for another place where they would give me a chance to get the property. But you didn't give me that chance, so please give me back my application fee. You did not disclose in your application process that it's not first come first serve. Nowhere does it say that, and that is not the truth. You told me there were no applications and told me to send in my additional check stub for my income verification. I did that, but I still didn't get the place. However, you were in the middle of processing my application, so if you weren't going to wait, then you should not have taken the fee. You also stated through a text message that as long as my money order can verify that it was filled out to Firebird Housing for $45, you got it. But in fact, my application fee was $40. You said you would process the application, and you had the picture from my text message of the money order. You were in the middle of processing my application, so somewhere something is faulty. You advised me that you were waiting for me to drop it off in the morning in the dropbox, but with the picture, you verified it. Furthermore, my credit report was not affected by this management company at all. There is no indication on my report. The problem that I have is full disclosure. This company did not do that even during the application process. If it was not first come first serve, they should disclose that so the consumer can decide if they want to pay the fee.
I'm writing to share my experience with Firebird Housing
I'm writing to share my experience with Firebird Housing. My four children and I faced some challenges when it came to getting our deposit back. When we first moved in, there were a lot of repairs that needed to be done. The outlets didn't work at all, and the refrigerator broke within a few weeks or maybe a month. It took them a couple of days to send someone to fix it, and by then, all our food had gone bad. We didn't receive any compensation for that. On top of that, the air conditioning went out, and we had to endure 48 hours of heat. None of the windows in the house opened during the three years we lived there. They finally came to fix them about three months before I had to move out.
We also had mold in the bathroom, and we lived with it for who knows how long. When we brought it to their attention, they briefly sprayed over it and claimed it was gone. But I continued to see the mold resurface. My children and I got really sick and had to visit the doctor multiple times without knowing the cause of our illness. The toilet even had stains on it. We never complained about any of these issues; we simply asked them to fix them. However, nothing was done except for the outlets, which were either not working or missing.
I informed Firebird that if anything was missing, it was their repair person's fault. We had to replace the light bulbs in the kitchen, living room, master bedroom, and children's room about a month after moving in. Now they are overcharging me for normal wear and tear over the three years we lived there. They are also trying to charge me for the trash that was left outside the home when I moved out on a Sunday, even though the trash collection day was on Friday.
From what I understand, the doors should be considered normal wear and tear, as I spoke to another landlord about it. I shouldn't be charged for it, especially after I spent a lot of money to ensure the carpet was clean, the backyard was taken care of, and the door was actually fixed. It seems like the landlord is using my deposit to repair the home itself and overcharging me. They're asking me to pay more even after they already took my deposit. I am requesting a full refund of my deposit now.
