First National Bank of Omaha Lower Credit Limit with no warning

My husband applied for the 0 intrest and was approved, , , We transfered over hight intrest balances and payed them off. The credit limit on this card was 4000.00 Yesterday (10/05/2011) he got a Phone Call from the CSR stating we were over the limit after using this card on vacation. He paid them money over the phone. Last night i opened the statement we just received and our balance was 1000.00. and the limit was 4000.00 . Today he calls them and tells them that the statement said 4000.00., They replied we just mailed out a letter stating that the limit has been lowered! Talk about a Bait and Switch! We will be paying off this card and closing out the account. I wish we would have taken the time to look up complaints by consumers. I will also be making a complaint with the BBB on this Company. As everyone else say's STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK! Maybe if enough people find this they will eventually go OUT of business

they did almost the same thing to us. after having the card for a year with a zero balance, they called to inquire why we had not used the card. a few moths later, we had a family emergency on a sunday and could only get the maximum of $500 from the ATM, then we took a small cash advance from this card. immediately after the cash advance our limit was reduced from $4500 to $3000. thern every month as we paid our balance, they lowered our credit limit. they cited the reason for the lower credit limit was that our credit score had decreased. well, they were the reason that our scored decrease...the amount owed in conjuction to the limit was always the max. as someone who worked in the banking industry, l pay attention to our credit score and it droppped 120 points due to the credit line reduction with no late payments. canned responses to my emails. disputed things with the credit bureaus, but we know that will be worthless.

First National Bank of Omaha false advertising

This bank advertises a "...0.00% interest if paid by a set date..." product but doesn't advertise the minimum interest fee you will pay. Service fee for the product + minimum interest fee = almost same dollar amount as normal interest rate for the payback period even if you don't go past the set date. Complaints to the bank do no good. Complaints to the BBB do no good. Don't be fooled by their advertised "good deals"...they aren't!

First National Bank of Omaha Breach of Fiduciary Duty / Wilfull Misconduct

I have just been served papers from an attoney representing FNB Omaha in a small claims matter regarding my VISA account. This account was covered by Unempl0yment and L & D Insurance and was a feature that I was willing to pay for given the supposed and obvious derivable benefit.. In the many years that I paid this monthly fee which came with my monthly statement, I believed that I was "covered " in the event of a personal financial or medical catastrophe.

When I became unemployed, I requested the insurance benefits forms from FNB Omaha ; filled them out and sent in all appropriate and supporting documentation to initiate my unemployment insurance claim. Four weeks later, I was calling for an update and was stunned bya rude CSR who needed some prodding to do her job (s) in verifiying my previous employment ! FNB Omaha had my paystubs, my unemployment detemination, copies of my unemployment checks and my insurance application form which had my prior employer's address/phone/website information. Not only did they not call my employer, they were informed of my employer's policy that a Verification of Employment would require a "fee". I was told by the CSR from FNB Omaha that paying a couple of bucks for a verification was not a viable option for them and therefore, my claim was summarily dismissed.

Needless to say, I immediatley closed out my account and cancelled the insurance. I am now being sued for breach . While I am prepared to defend my case with vigor, I will also pursue any other measures, to include a class-action lawsuit to mitigate this issue on my behalf. Should I lose my current case in court, FNB Omaha will be stymied by my inability to pay this debt because in fact, I continue to be unemployed, which in fact I can prove with 100% merit.

I owed Sears $104.00 total. Payment was $25 a month. Was late on payment. FNB Omaha, which carries Sears acct, sent me a late charge of an additional $25. I immediately sent in the total of $104 PLUS the cut up Sears/FNB Omaha cards!

Govygirl, fully support your actions. Let us all know how it all went. You take an insurance against and event and when the event happens, they refuse to provide coverage for it. How about all the premiums and interest on the premiums they deducted over the years! Sad.

I just cup up my FNB of Omaha card when I found out they were charging my 19% interest, when other CC companies such as Bank of America and Chase were only charging me 6.99% and 8.99% respectively. Also when I started making some phone calls inquiring of my current credit card companies what their current interest rates were, Bank of America and Chase both sent my checks that I could use to pay off my FNB of Omaha account with that carried 0% interest for an entire year. FNB would not offer me a better interest rate even when I told them that I was going to close the account. They deserve to go out of business like the rest of the dirty banks.

First National Bank of Omaha Credit card I don't have

I received a copy of my credit report today and there is a charge of $343.00 on it from CCS First National Bank that I have no idea what it is for. I don't have a credit card, and never used a credit card. How do I get this off of my report, I'm retired and can't afford this.

If ID theft, ask them to provide you evidence that you actually applied: ask what contact info was used on the application ie: your full name, address, social, phone number. You will probably find that either the name or address was not your address. Also ask where the charges were from ie: store, city and state. This might also prove to them that the charges were not from you if you live in a different area.

I hope this helps: www.CreditCleaners.Net

I am having the same problem. I have had Identity theft in the past so I thought maybe it was that. But after reading and doing research on this company I think the company scamed me and its not identity theft. It has me as a joint account and I would NEVER have a joint account and never have. Not even with my husband. I have tried calling the number to get this cleared up but the number is a fake. So I dont know where to go from here.

First National Bank of Omaha Late Fees

I had gotten back from a chaotic business trip and for the first time in my life, forgot to pay a credit card bill, which was due the day upon my return. I had perfect credit and always paid my bills on time. I just received a phone call from First National Bank of Omaha stating that I now owe $2500 for not paying my January bill, which was only around $1000. They have been charging me $35 every single day without my knowledge. You'd think First National Bank of Omaha would contact their customers to notify them of these additional charges a few days after the bill is past due, but no. They instead wait until they've only gotten hundreds of dollars out of you and THEN contact you to inform you your payment is late and you now owe an amount that's more than double what your original credit card payment was. I would not refer anyone to First National Bank of Omaha because this company is intentionally trying to push their customers into debt. On a side note, they also have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life.

First National Bank of Omaha Treat customer like criminals

If you have a credit card with First National Bank of Omaha, be careful!
If you miss your payment just ONCE, your account will transfer to their collection department and they start treating you like criminal.
They start calling you every day until you answer the phone (No messages and Calling ID is just 1-800).
When you ANSWER the phone, Oh My God, You would not believe what I heard.
She didn't care if I knew the missed payment, or I never missed my payment before. She just kept saying when you would pay & how much. Next question was my next payment when & how much. I said I would pay off and cancel the card, then she said "Good. Have a good day" and hang up.
I paid off the card, but I never want to have this card, EVER!

First National Bank of Omaha rate jacking

My wife and I have had over a 720 credit score for than five years. My own at this very moment is 777 with two agencies and 781 with another. I know this because this bait and switch bank just raised my interest rate from 6.99 fixed to 24.50% variable with no explanation even after I sent them a copy of the reports. I recently used this credit card for a home remodel project where I did use 70% of my available credit, but why offer it a large credit limit to me if they don't want me, the customer, to use it. I have several other cards with a $0.00 balance with some even larger limits. If you are a credit worth consumer and want an honest relationship with a bank, STAY CLEAR OF THESE GUYS. I plan on paying off the card within the next 6 months and closing the account. When I asked, as a customer, to speak to someone about the issue I was referred to the "Office of the President". I don't need to talk to the person who runs the bank just the misguided person who does not want to business with some who has a 777 credit score. The only saving grace in all of this is I have a choice, some other consumers do not. I feel for those people who this bank preys upon.

I received an offer from First National Bank of Omaha for a fixed APR of 9.99% for life on all purchases and bank transfers. I figured it would be just another bait and switch scam that all the banks are playing now. I was approved but my $6000 transfer wasnt approved evidently because they showed approval of a card with credit line of $3000 would be sent. I called to decline the offer because it was not what was offered to me. I was told the bank would never make an offer like that. Maybe on balance transfers, but not on purchases. I told them, it was illegal to mail out false offers and I would contact the authorities to investigate the bank. I wrote the PA attorney Generals and the Federal Trade Commission in DC.

I am tried of what this banking industry has done to this country since the bailout. All of the banks are treating good customers like crap and doing anything possible to get their money for other people's bad debts. We all should just tell the banks "go to hell" and no one pay them back.

We plan to elimate all credit cards with Chase & American Express when paid off. Use only prepaid cards or our debit cards.

Worst is when your out of the country on business or pleasure and using your credit card to find they lowered your credit line to a couple of hundred dollars. Not even to cover interest unless you send a payment.

I'm sorry you guys have problems with this bank as I know my credit score is a 700 and a fixed 9.99 % for life in this economy was a very tempting offer. I thought it too true to be legit so I decided to Google it and ended up here. I hope everyone stops doing business with these ### and they go under. Thanks to you great people of the net I wasn't taken by this company.

First National Bank of Omaha Granbury texas

First National Bank of Pecan Plantation in Granbury Texas has been unacceptable and un ethical in their banking practices. I recently deposited a large sum of money into my account on a Friday. I was told that this deposit would not be good til the following Tuesday.
I needed to pay some bills and Was told the bills that the out of town bills I could mail that day and any bills that were from in town to wait til Monday to mail. So I mailed my out of state bills that very day. the checks came throught the bank on monday This bank Charged me on each check and sent one back. They also Gave me a certain amount from the deposit to to use from my ATM. I spoke with costumer service at my bank and they told me they would not give me my money back for what they charged me and said I had no funds in my checking so I was charged. This is unacceptable and I want the money they took from my account back. After speaking with the bank they say my funds were not available when the checks came through. If I wasn't told to go ahead and mail my checks for out of state I never would have if Iwasn't told that it would be ok. I don't have extra money for the bank to make money from me. This was not an honest or ethical stituation.Unacceptale. When I let them know I will not do business with another First National Band They didn't seem concerned. That in it's self is not away to run a business and not away to treat costumers. I will need to take my business else where.

First National Bank of Omaha fees/declined payment

I received a confirmation of payment after paying my bill on time. today (a week later) they contact me telling me that i entered an invalid account number and have now charged me a late fee, a payment dishonored fee, and an additional fee for paying again over the phone. I have a copy of the confirmation of payment showing that the last four digits i entered were correct but they're unable to tell me what the first three digits i entered were in order to verify that their claim is true. i find it hard to believe that i entered my account number incorrectly as it is only 7 digits long and i've had the same account number for 20 years.

Every time you make a payment online, they ask for payment source, instead of like everyone else have it static. So if you miss a number, they charge you $35. That is 100% free money for them, as the bank that refused the payment does not charge them anything. FNBO has it that way so you may make a possible mistake and rip you off.

I 100% agree with you. The same thing happened to me when I signed up for autopay. The sign up page requires you to enter your account number and further verifies that account number by re-entering it again - could not be wrong twice. Then their online software dropped the last two digits of my account number which caused the number to come back as incorrect from my bank. They however refunded me the $25 late fee they charged for which I did not thank them but made sure I reminded them it was all their fault. Plan to pay off the account and close it after a 10 year relationship!

First National Bank of Omaha collection

This company is attempting to sue me for an old credit card debt from 2003. As far as I have checked, there is absolutely no record of this creditor on my credit report. All I can find is the lawyers (Bowman, Heintz, Boscia and Vician) inquiry on my report. There is no verification of the account number or even a date for appearance. Just the opportunity to respond within twenty-three days. I can't afford to have a judgement on my credit report and I feel like this company has waited until the very end of the time they can come after someone to file now. What can I do to work this out. I am trying to contact a lawyer for advice.

First National Bank of Omaha Awful bank

This bank is one of the more nefarious predator banks in the US. Run by ther secretive right-wing Bruce Lauritzen, this is a bank that victimizes it's customers in many ways. Avoid this bank like the plague! The 'original bank of Enron'---Enron, born in Omaha in 1982, got it's first loans from this bank---FNBO's back office mutual funds are run by Goldman Sachs--and it is well known for trying to keep it's customers money through aggressively issuing credit reports on all it's customers MONTHLY to keep it's customers credit ratings going down. Many of the bank's large customers have fled this bank from [protected], only to find that the bank will take months if not years to transfer accounts to the successor banks, holding customer's hard-earned money hostage---and complaints to the Comptroller of the Currency about the bank opening it's customers safe deposit boxes without box holders present are met with 'contempt' letters from the bank's consul. Now that banks are collapsing like a proverbial house of cards, steer clear of a bank such as this in a state where the bank has a reputation for 'owning' the bank officials and judges in that state.

I was repeated offered a new credit card by my Union Bank. I refused untill recently as I bought a new home with additional pending expense so I took on a 0% deffered card. When I got my first statement from First Bankcard of Omaha I set up a online account and scheduled my first payment. Somehow probably due to a slow keyboard response a single digit got dropped from my routing number. As a result three days latter my payment was returned with a late fee. As my routining number is posted onscreen with x's there was no way I could have seen this. Called the bank to have this corrected, the would not reverse the late fee but had them tell me this would not go on my record. (Thank you creditcard reform.) However I would likely be charged a $31 fee for a dishonored second payment made online the night before using that invisible routing number. This story goes on and on, and on and it has only been one weekend of ping ponging charges, but I would like to say at the end of the day this is thw worst most unforgiving bank I ever done business with. Can't wait to drop this Bank asap.

This bank uses 'credit reports' to lower your credit by issuing credit reproets weekly or monthly, which by itself lowers your credit rating-a bank devoted to destroying it's customer's wealth by using the customers wealth to wage economic war on them. Uses it's customers as victims. Owned by one man, the devoted fan of Ayn Rand-Mitt Romney Bruce Lauritzen is devoted to destroying depositors wealth and transfer it to himself.
