Flight centre travel group and lauren edwards are in the business of unethical conduct; deliberate deception & severely lacking in honesty/integrity whom provides inaccurate visas requirements; deceptive airfare changes rules; false hotel information; distorted 3rd party details & misleading advice to clients…..
Lauren edwards gives the travel agency industry an untruthful image & brings the flight centre travel group into disrepute…..
Flight centre travel academy instructs their travel agents to say whatever bs it takes to close the sale with clients and will only pick airlines/third parties whom give flight centre the highest commission…..
You only have to observe at your local shopping centre that have flight centre group offices – which are mostly always empty for a reason…..
Flight centre 24/7 support from overseas is non-existent as no one answers the phone; it is not a reverse charge call & no email address provided – flight centre make it deliberately difficult to access any support when you are overseas…..
Recommend avoid travel agent chains such as flight centre; escape travel; student flights; travel associates; cruise about; infinity holidays - as these companies are only interested in quantity/turnover of clients where clients are just another number as flight centre do not have your best interest at heart and these companies have absolutely no interest in quality nor repeat business…..
If you want to save yourself from much heartache – for your future travels recommend you find a independent/boutique/20+ years experienced travel agent in your local area whom actually treat you as a person; are quality driven in terms of customer service; and genuinely care about their clients whom would return as a repeat customer.

Flight Centre Travel Group Flight credit

Folks, don't book with Flight Centre if you need to cancel a flight. We did last summer and learned in March that we lost approximitely 650.00. I've used Flight Centre on a number of occasions, but this is the only time, last summer that I had to cancel.

First I called Air Canada, as it was their flight to learn I had to cancel with the travel company which is Flight Centre. So I called Flight Centre. They appraised me of the various fees I'd have to pay to cancel. There was an immediate charge on my credit card, plus additional charges ahead when I went to rebook. This doesn't include the 150.00 charge air canada was going to charge to rebook. So in effect, you pay double the cancellation fees. The worst to happen however was they never informed me that I had to reply to a confirmation email they were sending out, so when I saw the email arrive, I saw the confirmation of cancellation header and filed it away. Buried mid point in the email is the warning that you have to reply back or the flight isn't cancelled. So unknown to me at least until March of this year, was that I lost my credit and I was still charged to cancel the flight. This information surfaced in March, 2016 when I tried to rebook a ticket for Vancouver and was then informed I hadn't cancelled in spite of their email being clearly labelled that it required a response. When I explained that the agent had not mentioned, at any time there was the need to watch for this email and reply back, I was told there was no recording of my conversation.

Therefore in spite of the many times I've used Flight Centre to book flights to the UK over the years, this is how their customers are treated. Meanwhile, a month later I booked a flight directly with air canada. I also had to cancel this flight. I did it by phone, they have a record, no problem. Hence, deal directly either with a credible travel agent or with the airline.

Don't book with the Flight Centre!

Flight Centre Travel Group Not informed of all my options

I booked an all inclusive vacation package through the local flight centre. I was not informed however about a price drop guarantee that Sunwing offers.

The next day when i saw the advertising, i called up the travel agent to ask her about it.
She told me that she believes it has to be purchased at the time of the booking. She said she would see what she could do and call me back. (Still waiting for the call back). I called the customer relations hot line to complain. The lady told me it is up to the customer to tell the employee what they want.

I said, if i the customer have to do all the leg work, why do i need flight centre?

After this experience, the answer is YOU DON'T!

Flight Centre Travel Group Didn't pay our hotel and arrived at the hotel and had to pay it again. Money hasn't been refunded yet

This is an email I sent making a complaint to Flight Center customer support. I received a call the next day from a general manager apologizing for everything that happened, and saying that the money owed to me was already sent. The next day I receive a call from Kasia (please read below to understand more what happened) asking where to send the money?. So it means the money wasn't sent, even though I was told it was. This ads to the innumerable irregularities that I had to go through. The list keeps going on, but this reached to a limit where I think I have to get legal advice to get my money back. Please read the below which explains on as much details as possible. I have written proof and invoices of everything.

To summarize what happened:

- I went to Flight Centre Macquaire Park on the 18th of June to do a booking for the GRAND PACIFIC hotel in Singapore for 4 nights.

- I paid a total of 758 AUD which covers four nights between the 19/06/2013 and the 23/06/2013.

- The paperwork received from Kasia, clearly confirmed that, and the dates stated above.

- The next morning we received an email from Kasia stating the she made a mistake on the dates, and that there was no availability for those dates in that hotel, but that she managed to find another hotel (HOTEL CONCORDE SINGAPORE), at no extra cost for us. We never received information until that moment about how much the new hotel was.

- I mentioned it was ok, as long it was at the Orchard Rd.

- I approached Flight Center that same day in the afternoon to get the new booking. It is at this moment that we received information about the new cost, and I double checked with Kasia, where she confirmed again that it was at no extra cost for us, since it was a mistake she made. The paperwork stated the cost of the new hotel at 1426.54 SGD for the 4 nights.

- We departed to Singapore the next day and arrived at the CONCORDE HOTEL at around 2 am the 20/06/2013

- At the hotel, we were informed that they haven't received the payment yet from FLIGHT CENTRE, so we had to give our credit card as a deposit until the hotel receives the payment from FLIGHT CENTRE.

- We then received an email from Kasia stating that she didn't manage to do the payment with the hotel (she didn't mention why), so she would do a refund to us to our account for the money we would have to pay for out stay at the hotel ASAP.

- At this point, we had to use 1600 AUD from our credit card, this was a big part of our budget for this trip and holidays, and my wife was left with 35 AUD of available credit. This was an initial holding deposit, not the final payment.

Luckily I had some credit available but we had to limit even more our expenses due to this.

- Kasia informed that she would do the payment immediately, after receiving the invoice/receipt from the hotel.

- We sent by fax to Flight Centre, directed to Kasia a letter stating the holding amount. We didn't hear from Kasia anymore. This was last Saturday.

- After checking out from the hotel, we received the invoice/receipt. We sent this by email. The invoice is again attached to this email. We didn't hear from Kasia either when we sent this to her email.

- We then were informed by phone that that she would be coming back on Monday the 24th of June 2013. Her automatic email reply also states that she would be coming back the 24th of June.

- The 24th of June, I spoke with Angela at noon, and she informed that Kasia would be coming back on Wednesday the 26th. My point is: the misinformation seems to be the norm at Flight Centre Macquaire Park. Customers are the ones that suffer the consequences ? Someone has to take action then. Nobody is assuming so far responsibility of what's happening, the reason for me to write this extensive email, so I don't have to repeat myself several times, until someone there takes further action.

- We haven't received our money yet which totals more than 1600 AUD, as we were deducted more than the amount stated in the invoice since we had to give a holding deposit, and that holding deposit hasn't been released yet since it is an international transaction.

Pretty much, in all sense of the word, it seems like they are having fun with our situation, as we desperately need our money back, we didn't spend the holidays we expected to have, and we even receive notifications, the money was going to be transferred this afternoon to incorrect bank accounts, after sending several times the right bank account numbers to their email addresses. It's like one mistake after another after another after another... etc... you get the point. It's just endless and seems to me a bad joke.

What legal actions (if any) can we take against Kasia Labruna (Flight Centre Macquaire)?

Flight Centre Travel Group Cancellation

my sister in law has been told she has stomache cancer and needs urgent treatment in an attempt to save her life.after enquiring about a refund of the air fare was told that she cannot have one, but if she wants to pay another £175 she can change her dates.she may not even recover from her cancer so how can she do that.we as a family have used the flight center over many years exclusively booking all our breaks through them.but this loyalty has been disregarded in favour of an air fare to australia which is not due till 28th feb 2013, so they could easily dispose of the tickets.as a family we will never use them again and i do come from a large family with relatives all over the globe.my sister in law is already very upset and this companies reaction has made it even worse. anthony sugg

Flight Centre Travel Group Unfair service

I had the misfortune of booking two flights with Flight Centre from London to LA. The cost was £1400, however, the following week they were £1000. Flight Centre refused to do anything for me and told me in no uncertain terms that it was 'tough'!

Disgraceful service and I will not be using Flight Centre nor will I be flying Air New Zealand again! Hang your heads in shame!

Flight Centre Travel Group Being ripped off

I am a pensioner and I purchased two return tickets at Flight Centre in Tokai on 25 October 2011. I need to book Business class due to ill health. The tickets were R85, 338.00! I was in shock and only realized the morning of 26 October 2011 that Mia Seaton could have booked the return flights in Economy class, thereby saving me about R28000!

Mia Seaton knows I am retiring overseas and we will not be using the return flights but is forced to buy return flights, because she also made out insurance cover for immigration. And yet she ripped me off like this. I even underlined the phrases "can I change my booking" and "charge an administration fee" and made question marks next to the sentences ( I can prove this on photostats she made for me). She assured me that she will always accommodate me of which she did not and I am so upset.

I also asked for the date of the return ticket to be one year away but Mia said she could only make the date for June 2012.

Flight Centre are refusing to help me and say that it will cost (on top of the R85, 338.00) R5000 per person extra to change the return ticket to Economy class plus their cancellation and admin fees. I even phoned Flight centre in Constantia and spoke to Lesley Lund, who refused to give their Managing Director or CEO's contact details. She said that they cannot give out these details.

I sent Mia an email on 26 October 2011 at 09:27 as follows:
Hallo Mia,
I was thinking why did we not book the return air tickets for my daughter and I on economic class, then it would have been much cheaper? And why did you not advise me as such? I was stunned that it was SO expensive, but thinking afterwards I cannot imagine that you did not advise us on this?
Any comments and I suppose you cannot resolve it?

I found out later that these agencies works on commission. So why would they change the booking saving me about R28, 000 if they can make commission on R85, 338.00? The administration fee of changing the tickets would be R200 something, so working on a round figure say, for two tickets it would have cost me only R500.00. This is daylight robbery and robbing a pensioner of hard earned money!

We still don't have tickets because Mia Seaton said she will issue it to me on the following day, but then I contacted her and said I was very unhappy about this as stated. This was less than 12 hours after the purchase.

I feel if I had purchased economy class tickets which was paid for and wanted to upgrade it to business class I would have been accommodated immediately and would have been allowed to do it in a second.

This is incredibly unfair. The flight is only due 16 November 2011. This is not an unreasonable request or expectation to accommodate me.

Why is Flight Centre not forced to abide by the consumer bill of rights and forced to adhere to the 5 day cooling off period?

I will be deeply grateful for your intervention in this matter as this is a huge sum of money to have to loose because of greed.

Michelle Roux a travel agent from.flight centre has been a had a very horrible attitude towards me in purchasing our packages for Mauritius. We have had to move our dates due to unforeseen circumstances and we have been charged a very high fees and only tickets and accommodation documents have been received even after me emailing her to forward documents of insurance and embassy letters. I have had to make several follow up calls and emails. A travel agent was supposed to make all the arrangements and forward all documents concerned and not for a client to follow up a travel agent. It seems she is not effective in her job but wants the commission.

Flight Centre Travel Group alaska cruise

The following is a copy of an email sent to Flight Centre Marketing. We never received the courtesy of an answer.

We recently returned from a cruise to Alaska that was booked through
your Penticton BC office. When I originally made contact it was with
the manager. I quickly found that she was not the one to be dealing
with. I made many trips in from out of town only to find that she was
away from the office. Because we spend the winters in the US, it was
necessary to contact her by email none of which were ever answered.
When we returned in the spring it finally got to the point where I had
to request that someone else look after me. His answer was that he
didn't know where to find the file. Because I had seen where your
manager had put the file once I told him and he did find it. Many of
the people in the group were very unhappy with the service. When I had
the gentleman check to make sure everyone was assigned a room on the
ship it was found that one couple did not have a room assigned and
they had paid for their room in full. Upon contacting the Cruise Line
they said there were no rooms available so that had to be sorted out.
It was the 10th anniversary of our Choir and there were 32 people that
took the cruise. We were told that there would be a room with a piano
that we could use which turned out not to be true. The crew was kind
enough to find us a spot in a club during the off hours so we could
get together. Upon our return it was found that we had been given the
wrong disembarking time by your office and I had to scramble to change
the pick up time by the bus line that was chartered. I am enclosing
some comments that I have received regarding dealings with your
office.

Re Flight Center: I travel extensively and I would never use Flight
Center again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Communication was so
poor it created high stress levels. In the end we didn't have baggage
tags when we went to board the ship and believed until the last minute
we were going to have to lug our luggage long distances. When I drove
to Penticton and went into Flight Center to sort out my ticket, no one
seemed to know anything and I was told to come back again.
Fortunately, Isabel eventually got the tickets for me.

Feel free to edit, Isabel. The main point is I'd never use them again.
Thanks for all the hard work you did to make the cruise possible. It
would have been a lot easier on you with a good travel agent.

agreed upon actions such as putting through the VISA payment or
getting back to me with requested information. There was no apology
for this delayed action/response when I finally got a hold of her. I
will not deal with Flight Centre again.

I really didn't have a lot of contact with the Flight Center - my main
complaint would be that Hayley didn't follow through on statements.
"I will drop it in the post" meant that I would need to pick it up! I
think that you took the brunt of the problems so thank you for that!

Dear Isobel, due to your hard work I have no complaints about our
Alaska trip, when you told how hard it was to deal with Hailey at
Flight center, the mix up with the rooms, the mistake about our
arrival times in Vancouver, I was amazed at how incompetent Hailey
was. I really enjoyed our trip and really appreciate the work you did
to make it so much fun. Marilyn Cade

To sum up, it was not a pleasant experience dealing with your
Penticton Mgr. When organizing a tour group I am sure you will agree
that it is imperative to be able to trust your agent to look after
things to the best of their ability. This was not the case and the
stress of not knowing if things were going to go without a hitch was
constantly there. I would hope that you will take steps to try to
improve the situation in Penticton.

Location:Christchurch Northland Mall(on main north road) Flight Centre.

Me and my daughter had to go to Auckland, so we looked up for cheap flights on the air new zealand website.
And I heard that Flight Centre gave a 5% discount from the cheapest flights that we find ourselves.
So, the next day we took in to the Flight Centre(located in Northland Mall)the cheapest flight we had found which was on 28th July at 4.30 on air newzealand.
We were served by a lady, Ellie.She looked up on the site and told us the ticket we were wanting to book for was not available.We asked for the cheapest flights available for us on air newzealand but there were only expensive ones according to the costs Ellie called out to us.
Therefore we asked her to find a cheap flight for us on jetstar.We trusted that Flight Centre would find us the best price tickets as their slogan was to provide customers with the cheapest flights.
Ellie told us that the best price for us was a return flight on 5th July leaving Christchurch to Auckland at 9.10am and returningon the same day of 5th July from Auckland to Christchurch at 5.40pm which was at the price of $348.00 for 2 adults.We double checked by asking Ellie once more if this flight she told us was the cheapest and she replied 'yes'.So we trusted her and bought the flight tickets in cash($348.00).Then she told us it would take about half an hour for the flight tickets to arrive on her email to print it out for us and asked if we wanted to walk around the mall untill she received them.We looked up at the clock and it was approx 4.45pm but my daughter had her piano lesson at 5pm so we told her we would come back on thursday to get our tickets and returned home.

When my daughter was doing her piano lesson I went on Jetstar to check the flight we had bought on the Flight Centre website.I looked up the exact same date and times and found out that the return flight price for 2 adults was $196.00!
I was extremely suprised and straight away rang the Northland Mall Flight Centre at 5.45pm and told them the price difference was huge.The man who answered told us if we bought in the proof by printing the evidence of the cost on the Jetstar website and it was the same date and time that we had already bought we were able to get the flight with that price of $196.00.So we planned on going back to the Flight Centre the next day as they were closing 15minutes after the phone call at 6pm.

On the next day June 29th approx at 4.40pm we took the evidence to the same Flight Centre and asked for the return of the overpaid money, but different to what they told me yesterday on the phone the worker serving me told me we could not get a refund of the money as the prices of the flights changed often and she and the manager believed Ellie carried out her work perfectly correctly and they told me that the 2 tickets we had bought must have been the cheapest at the time we were in Flight Centre therefore they could not give us the refund.So I asked to check the Jetstar flight cost at the present time on the web and said we would leave with the tickets that we had bought earlier on if the price was different to the price we had seen of $196.00 for 2 adults but if it still remained the same we would like a refund of the overpaid money.
But their reply was that they could not go on Jetstar to prove to us and that they could not refund our money what so ever.So I repeatedly told them that the way their jobs were carried out was wrong and because of it I was ripped off $152.00 therefore it was right for them to return my overpaid money to not give any damages on me.However throught out this process they called the security guard without even bothering to solve the problem.

The Flight Centre manager and the staff who works in Northland Mall drops the Flight Centre's corporate image to the lowest.I feel extremely disappointed in the way Flight Centre handled my issue and I no longer on my own, want to deal with those who can't even carry out their jobs properly.
I wanted to report to the police and get the time I was in Flight Centre when I bought the ticket from the cctv as evidence and find whether Jetstar's cheapest price at that time was the same as what I had paid.
But as you see I felt that on my own it was hard to get what I wanted facing the manager and staff who weren't willing to do anything about the issue.
And therefore I am asking for your help.
It would be great if you could give me some ideas on how to resolve this issue.

get a grip!
they offer a price gaurantee or something. you were happy with the contract, you agreed.. and you are now legally bound. you are an adult, be responsible for the decisions you make.

If you complain to the hotel, they will blame the travel agent, and when you complain to the travel agent, they blame the vacation company. the bottom line is that they lied and collected the commission from the customer, but refuse to take responsibility for their error.

Flight centre is a complete ripp off marjorie lopez booked our flight and she is a freaking liar. we booked our flights and hotel to mexico and were promised an oceanfront room. the # charged us full price for the hotel room, and when we arrived at the hotel we were told that she did not recommend or send any acknowledgement of the room. when we complained she blamed it on signature vacations. this is the worst company to book your flights so do not book at flight centre they are the biggest liars in the travel industry.
. we booked a vacation to mexico several months ago, and the travel agency charged us for an ocean front room.

We paid approximately $700 more than the normal price. as soon as we arrived we ended up getting some room that showed just the forest. this was the so called ocean front view.

They booked us on signature vacations, who said there was nothing they could do becuase the flight centre lied to us about the ocean front rooms

We have sent numerous letters, but they just ignored us.

Do not book your travel with flight centre they are a bunch of liars and thieves and once you pay they will not even address your complaint
Flight centre we got ripped off by flight centre on 610 robson street, vancouver complaints – flight signature vacations are freaking liars and thieves and provided false information and lied to customers about rooms which they sold.

Flight centre is a complete ripp off marjorie lopez booked our flight and she is a freaking liar. we booked our flights and hotel to mexico and were promised an oceanfront room. the # charged us full price for the hotel room, and when we arrived at the hotel we were told that she did not recommend or send any acknowledgement of the room. when we complained she blamed it on signature vacations. this is the worst company to book your flights so do not book at flight centre they are the biggest liars in the travel industry.

In brief, craig was told over the phone that some flight tickets he was looking to purchase had an indefinite return date. he didn’t think that sounded right, so he double-checked and the staff at flight centre confirmed it to be true. so he bought the tickets only to find out (too late) that they expired after a year. now flight centre are denying that they told him the tickets were indefinite and now also accusing him of lying!
Hopefully people will read craig’s story and make sure they have written confirmation of the details before paying for tickets. and perhaps if you read the story you may also consider not dealing with flight centre in the first place, as their customer service (full details in the original blog post) have been appalling!

I had an extremely similar situation happen as the first complaint! WOW! no reservations were received by the Mexican resort, they blamed everyone else but themselves, even though I had letters from the resort stating the reservation was never made! What a joke of a company! They could not produce any proof supporting their statements, liars! We tried to make it right through the office, but the blame was shifted many times to all parties, then through the head office in Vancouver, and again... when they get into a corner, its everyone else's fault... The good thing is, there are so many great local agents here, that Our groups will ever have to book through them again. We will book through reputable companies from now on

Having come to a local flight centre office I had explained that I am a single male, having just broken up with my Girlfriend and lost my job. Looking for my first Vacation in a long time I booked with them, trusting that they had my best interests in mind.

They put me in an Isolated Family resort away from everything at an extremely high cost.

I asked them to change it and they refused. Had to spend a fortune there to fix it.

DON'T BOOK Flight Center.

We booked a vacation to mexico several months ago, and the travel agency charged us for an ocean front room.

We booked a vacation to mexico several months ago, and the travel agency charged us for an ocean front room.

We paid approximately $700 more than the normal price. As soon as we arrived we ended up getting some room that showed just the forest. This was the so called ocean front view.

They booked us on signature vacations, who said there was nothing they could do becuase the flight centre lied to us about the ocean front rooms

We have sent numerous letters, but they just ignored us.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR TRAVEL WITH FLIGHT CENTRE THEY ARE A BUNCH OF LIARS AND THIEVES AND ONCE YOU PAY THEY WILL NOT EVEN ADDRESS YOUR COMPLAINT

In a desperate attempt to collect her travel agency commissions, marjorie lopez of flightcentre. ca located in vancouver at 620 robson street, made false and misleading statements to gain the customers confidence and book their travel plans.

Customer complaints were ignored and the customer was advised that he signed the terms. customer advised incompetant staff that the travel agent marjorie lopez specifically advised that the customer would receive an ocean view room, and provided false, misleading and inaccurate information to the client.

Comments:

The customer paid $700 more than the regular priced hotel room and was promised an ocean front deluxe room. upon their arrival in mexico, they received a room facing the biggest forest once could imagine said the customer. after making numerous trips to the front desk and getting the run around they were finally given a standard room facing the ocean, but what they could see was barely the ocean, and were forced to stay in the room, hoping that they would receive some compensation from the travel agent.

In a desperate attempt to collect her commission the agent blames the hotel, and then the company signature vacations advising that they were responsible for the error and later stated it would be resolved.

After several months, the customer received no response, and has now decided to go public to advise would be travellers that they should beware of the promises made by flight center canada and their employees.

Therefore, we highly recommend that you do not book your travel with flight centre, and there are many repoutable travel companies who will give you what you paid for and not ripp you off.

This is the latest warnign from a customer who was recently ripped off by this online company.
