Forces-war-records Beware of Subscription Scam and Lack of Customer Support

In May, I gave this site a try to assist my 87-year-old Mother! Unfortunately, we didn't make much progress, but that's not the main issue here. In June, I completely missed the fact that they charged my card for a second time, and it wasn't until July that I noticed it! I sent two emails before discovering that there's an automatic tick in the auto subscription box! Boy, was I frustrated when I unticked it! But guess what? August rolled around, and they took another payment! Can you believe it? I've sent approximately seven emails to express my complaints, but I haven't received a single response from them! Be cautious, folks! That's all I can say!

Forces-war-records Beware of Hidden Costs: Auto Renewal Nightmare

These sites is usually good for research but they come with a price, ya know? You end up gettin' all these emails and marketin' calls that just won't quit. I mean, c'mon, I should've been smarter 'bout it, but I got caught up in that ol' auto renew thingy. If I didn't keep an eye on my bank balance, I'd be losin' quite a bit of cash. Somethin' needs to be done 'bout how these companies do business, ya feel me? I reckon a big chunk of their dough comes from folks who forget to cancel that dang 'automatic' auto renew function. It's a real pain in the rear, I tell ya.

Forces-war-records Disappointing Lack of Information on Forces-War-Records: A Costly Subscription for a Mere Shop

I was really hoping to uncover some information about my father's service in the Royal Engineers until 1946, as well as my father-in-law's time in the Corps of Signals, Royal Scots Greys, and Household Cavalry until 1945. Additionally, I was eager to learn about my wife's grandfathers who both served until 1918. To my surprise, out of the whopping 26,000,000 records available on Forces-war-records, none of these brave men were mentioned. It's quite astonishing, really.

Instead, I've managed to stumble upon more valuable material through Mac Family Tree's connection to my FamilySearch user, and the best part is, it didn't cost me a penny. It's disheartening to think that I paid for a subscription to Forces-war-records only to gain access to a mere shop. They offer services like hiring a researcher, purchasing medals, or even buying a book. Frankly, it's not what I was expecting, and it's not good at all.

Forces-war-records Forces-war-records.co.uk: A Disappointing Waste of Time and Money

I, like many others, was enticed by the promise of gaining access to a vast collection of war records and decided to register on Forces-war-records.co.uk. The subsequent email offering a 'special discount' for a month seemed like a good deal, so I went ahead and signed up. Let me tell you, the site is absolutely rubbish! I attempted to search for information on three of my relatives - my father, paternal grandfather, and father-in-law - all of whom served in either World War 1 or World War 2. To my disappointment, only one record was found, and it was solely about my father's service in the RAF. The record simply mentioned his service number and rambled on about the potential medals he might have been entitled to. It was nothing more than a bunch of meaningless waffle.

When I decided to cancel the auto-renewal, they had the audacity to try and sell me the services of a so-called 'researcher'. Can you believe it? As if the lackluster results weren't enough, they wanted to squeeze even more money out of me. Thankfully, it only cost me a measly fiver, but still, what a waste!

Overall, I must say that my experience with Forces-war-records.co.uk was highly disappointing. The site failed to deliver on its promise of providing access to a multitude of war records, and the one record I did find was nothing more than a brief mention of my father's RAF service. The attempt to upsell me on additional services when I tried to cancel was just the cherry on top of this disappointing cake. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this site at all costs.

Forces-war-records Forces-War-Records Review: Disappointing Service, Bad Customer Service, and Sneaky Sales Tactics

I gotta say, Forces-war-records ain't all it's cracked up to be. I mean, seriously, I was expecting so much more bang for my buck, but all I got was a big ol' disappointment. I've seen other family tree sites that offer way more value for your hard-earned dollar or pound, ya know?

So, I decided to give their trial offer a shot. Figured I had nothin' to lose. But guess what? After just ten days, I decided to cancel, only to find out they went ahead and charged me for another whole month! Can you believe that? And when I tried to reach out to 'em about it, they didn't wanna hear a word of it. Talk about bad customer service, am I right?

And don't even get me started on their sneaky tactics to sell ya more stuff. They're pushin' these ridiculously priced personalized war records like there's no tomorrow. I mean, come on, who's got that kinda cash to spare? Not me, that's for sure.

Honestly, my whole experience with Forces-war-records was a total letdown. I can't find a single good thing to say about 'em. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere, folks. Trust me on this one.

Forces-war-records Forces-war-records: Misleading Subscriptions, Difficult Cancellations, and Unreliable Research

This here company, Forces-war-records, they claim to be all about finding them records, ya know? But here's the thing, if you wanna find out if they got the right person you're lookin' for, you gotta cough up some dough for a subscription. Now, I reckon it ain't too much to ask for some basic info, like the service number, to see if they got it right. But nah, they ain't givin' that away for free. So, you go ahead and pay up, thinkin' you're gonna get the right record, only to find out it's some bloke with the same name. What a bummer, mate! You just wasted your hard-earned cash for nothin'.

Now, here's where it gets even trickier. Tryin' to navigate their website to stop 'em from takin' more money outta your bank, it's like tryin' to find a needle in a haystack. Ain't no easy task, I tell ya. They make it real difficult for ya to cancel them subscriptions, like they don't want you to leave or somethin'. It's a right headache, I tell ya.

Now, they do offer to do more research for ya, but that means you gotta hire one of their researchers. And let me tell ya, there ain't no guarantee they gonna find the right record. So, you're takin' a gamble, mate. You might end up payin' even more and still not gettin' what you're lookin' for. It's a real gamble, I tell ya.

But here's the kicker, even if they found the wrong person, they still tryin' to sell you some medals. Can ya believe that? They ain't even got the right bloke, but they still want your money for them medals. It's a dodgy move, if ya ask me. I reckon you should steer clear of 'em, mate. Avoid 'em like the plague, if ya know what I mean. It's just not worth it.

Forces-war-records Misleading Website with Incomplete War Records and Lack of Customer Support

The website claims to have all the war forces records, but before you pay and search, it shows you a list of medals and blurry writing. It gives the impression that they have records related to your specific search. However, once you pay and conduct the search, it turns out that they don't actually have the specific record you're looking for. It's like playing a game of chance when you join, not knowing if they have the record you need. What's more, they don't even provide a telephone number for you to contact them, and they didn't bother responding to my email (even though they confirmed my membership).

To be honest, I feel like I've been fooled. My grandfather, who was a prisoner of war, would be extremely disappointed to know that this site operates in such a misleading manner.

Forces-war-records Disappointing Experience with Inaccurate Information and Lack of Communication

I was really looking forward to using this website, as I had high hopes for it. I had all the necessary information, including the service number and paybook of the soldier I was searching for. But guess what? The site didn't return any information at all! I was left feeling quite disappointed.

Not only that, but I also decided to look up details about my Grandfather. To my dismay, very little information showed up. It was quite frustrating, to be honest. So, I decided to dig through my own files and found a letter from the MOD that showed his medal entitlement. I compared it to the records on this site, and boy, were they vastly different! There was no mention of him on the Korea medal list, even though I proudly display his Korea medal on my wall.

To make matters worse, I tried reaching out to the site for some clarification, but there was absolutely no communication from them. It's like they disappeared into thin air! Just like many others, I thought I had cancelled my subscription, but to my surprise, another month's subscription fee was deducted from my account. And guess what? They didn't even bother responding to my email.

I had to take matters into my own hands and give my bank a call. Thankfully, they blocked the site from taking any more money from my account. Phew!

Let me tell you, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this site. It's just not worth the hassle and disappointment.

Forces-war-records Forces-War-Records: Lackluster Records and Sneaky Cancellation Process

I signed up for Forces-war-records to dig up some info on my grandparents, you know? But man, let me tell you, the records were seriously lacking. Like, I couldn't find anything that my own family couldn't have told me. So, I made up my mind to cancel my subscription.

But oh boy, canceling was a whole different story. It's like they played a sneaky little game with me. They make you click on this cancel option, and then bam! You're taken to another screen where they ask for a reason. So, I pick my reason, thinking I'm done, right? Wrong! Turns out, there's this tiny text link hiding on what looks like a confirmation page, and you gotta click it to really finalize the cancellation.

Talk about a sneaky trick, man. I ended up paying for an extra three months because I kept thinking I was done with the whole process. And you wanna know why? Because I didn't bother reading the fine print at the bottom of the page. Silly me, right?

And let me tell you, their customer service is a real piece of work. They couldn't care less about my situation. It's like they're laughing all the way to the bank, scamming people left and right. Thousands of pounds, I bet, from folks who think they've successfully unsubscribed. It's just not right, man. Not right at all.

Forces-war-records Disappointing Data and Lackluster Services: A Review of [Site Name]

I was really looking forward to using this site, but I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed. Before I signed up, their website got me all excited by listing the people I could research. It made some big promises about the data I would have access to. But let me tell you, once I actually subscribed, I realized they don't have much information at all.

For the people I've researched, the site didn't provide anything new. In fact, some of it was just plain wrong. It seemed like they were making assumptions based on generalizations, like guessing which campaign medals someone might have based on their service or the time period they served. It's definitely not worth the money.

I complained about it, but their response wasn't very helpful. They basically just told me what they wanted from me in order to update their data. And then they had the nerve to tell me that my payment was for "services" and gave me a bunch of excuses about how I had already used those "services." Basically, they took my money and didn't give me much in return.

I signed up for this site to get information, not their idea of "services." Sure, they offer to do further research on names, but even then, the feedback and information you get is pretty basic and not much more than what's already on the site (if they can even find it!).

If I had known how terrible the data is on this site, I would have never committed to a 12-month subscription. Seriously, if you're still considering it, don't go for the 12-month option. Just try it out for a month and see how little information they actually provide.

Forces-war-records Forces-war-records.co.uk Review: Mixed Bag of Records, Outdated Website, and Unreleased Records

So, I recently tried out this website called Forces-war-records.co.uk, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a mixed bag. They claim to have access to loads of records, but then they go and admit that there are still a bunch of records that haven't been released yet. Like, why didn't they mention that before I forked over my hard-earned cash?

I mean, don't get me wrong, they do give you some advice on how to approach the MOD to get those unreleased records, but it would have been nice to know that beforehand. It's like they're saying, "Hey, we can't give you everything we promised, but here's a tip on how to get it yourself." Not cool, man.

But hey, it's not all bad. They do have a decent amount of records available, and if you're lucky, you might find what you're looking for. I managed to find some info on my great-grandfather's military service, so that was pretty cool. It's just a shame that there's still so much stuff that's off-limits.

Oh, and let's not forget about the website itself. It's a bit clunky and outdated, if you ask me. It feels like I've been transported back to the early 2000s with all those outdated graphics and slow loading times. Come on, guys, it's 2021! We deserve a better user experience than this.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about Forces-war-records.co.uk. On one hand, they do have some records available, and I did manage to find some useful information. On the other hand, they should have been more upfront about the fact that not all records are accessible. And seriously, they need to update their website. It's time to join us in the 21st century, folks.

Forces-war-records Forces-war-records: Misleading Claims and Subscription Scam

This Forces-war-records website, mate, it gives you the impression that it's got a ton of records, right? But then it goes and asks you to sign up for a subscription just to see the goods. And guess what? It turns out they only have the info you already gave them. Bloody cheeky, if you ask me. So, if you do decide to give it a go, just be extra careful to cancel that subscription, alright? Don't want to be stuck paying for something you didn't even want in the first place.

Forces-war-records Disappointing and Limited: Forces-war-records Review

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with Forces-war-records. I mean, seriously, the amount of info they had was like, super limited. And get this, when I asked for a refund on my subscription, which I did like, less than 3 hours after buying it, they were totally unwilling to give it to me. Can you believe that?

I mean, come on, the site didn't have anything more than what you can find for free in the National Archives. Like, why would I pay for something I can get for free? It just doesn't make any sense to me. I was expecting to find some cool and unique stuff, but nope, it was just a big letdown.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time and money on Forces-war-records. Save yourself the trouble and just go straight to the National Archives. Trust me, you won't be missing out on anything special by skipping this site.

Forces-war-records Beware of Forces-war-records.co.uk's Auto-Renewal Trap: Choose Find My Past or Ancestry Instead

I recently had a bit of a mishap with Forces-war-records.co.uk. I fell for their tempting £5 offer and ended up getting stuck in the auto-renewal trap for another month's membership that I really didn't want or need. It's a real bummer, let me tell you.

Now, I've tried other genealogy websites like Find My Past and Ancestry, and while they also have auto-renewal, it seems to be a bit easier to navigate. I've joined and rejoined both of those sites countless times over the past decade, and I've never been caught out like this before.

So, my advice to you is to spend your hard-earned money on Find My Past or Ancestry instead. They may have their own auto-renewal system, but it's much more straightforward and less likely to catch you off guard. Trust me, I've learned my lesson the hard way.

In conclusion, Forces-war-records.co.uk may have some good features and information, but their auto-renewal system is a bit of a headache. Save yourself the trouble and go with a more reliable option like Find My Past or Ancestry. You'll thank me later.

Forces-war-records Forces-war-records: Misleading Claims, Lack of Information, and Endless Demands for Money

So, I was searching on Google and stumbled upon Forces-war-records. I wanted to find out more about this RAF pilot I've been researching. I typed in his name and guess what? They claimed to have information about him, but there was a catch - I had to pay ?8.95. I thought, well, maybe it's worth it to get some valuable insights.

But here's the kicker, folks. After I made the payment, they didn't have any information on that specific name! Can you believe it? Instead, they started bombarding me with irrelevant names and kept asking for more money. It's like they were playing a never-ending game of "give us more cash, and we'll give you more random stuff."

Naturally, I was furious. I reached out to them to complain about this whole mess, but you know what they did? Absolutely nothing! All they did was try to sell me additional services, as if that would make up for their lack of information and their sneaky tactics.

Let me tell you, it's frustrating when you're trying to uncover some important details about a person, and all you get is a runaround. I expected better from Forces-war-records, but they let me down big time. It's a shame that they prioritize making money over providing accurate and helpful information.

So, my fellow researchers, be warned. If you're thinking about using Forces-war-records, think twice. They might promise you the world, but in reality, they'll just take your money and leave you hanging. Don't fall for their tricks like I did. Save your hard-earned cash and find a more reliable source for your research needs.

Forces-war-records Forces-war-records: Inaccurate and Limited Information, Zero Customer Support

This website, Forces-war-records, is absolutely useless. I was trying to find information about a specific individual, but the amount of information provided was extremely limited and most of it was flat out wrong. Can you believe they had the audacity to claim that he served in the Army, when in reality he was a part of the Royal Naval Reserve? It's just mind-boggling.

To make matters worse, there were no details whatsoever about his medal entitlement or any record of his service. I mean, isn't that the whole point of a website like this? To provide accurate and comprehensive information about military personnel? It's beyond frustrating.

In my desperation for more reliable information, I turned to the London Gazette site and guess what? I found way more useful and accurate details there. It's just baffling how Forces-war-records could be so far off the mark.

To add insult to injury, when I requested a refund due to the lack of accurate information provided, I got absolutely nowhere. It's like they didn't even care about my concerns or the fact that their service was a complete waste of my time and money.

Overall, I would strongly advise against using Forces-war-records. It's a disappointment from start to finish, with minimal and incorrect information, and a complete lack of customer support. Save yourself the frustration and look for better alternatives elsewhere.

Forces-war-records Forces-War-Records: A Subscription Trap with Scarce Information and Poor Customer Service

This website, Forces-war-records (forces-war-records.co.uk), is designed to trick you into subscribing. Forces-war-records Review: Disappointing Family Records and Lack of Transparency with Forces-war-records

The records we discovered about our family were quite disappointing, as they only displayed details about injuries, awards, and disciplinary actions. We were hoping to find more captivating information, especially about the members who served in World War II. Unfortunately, it seems that their records were not included, possibly because they didn't receive any notable recognition or disciplinary actions.

One major drawback was that the website didn't provide a clear indication of what we could expect to find before we decided to subscribe. It would have been helpful to have a better understanding of the available information beforehand. This lack of transparency left us feeling somewhat misled.

To make matters worse, we were unaware that signing up meant we would be automatically enrolled in recurring monthly payments. Consequently, we ended up paying for three months of membership before realizing our mistake. We had only intended to subscribe for a single month, so this unexpected financial commitment was quite frustrating.

Overall, our experience with Forces-war-records was underwhelming. The limited scope of the records and the lack of clarity regarding subscription terms left us feeling dissatisfied. It would be beneficial if the website provided more comprehensive information upfront and offered clearer options for subscription durations.

Forces-war-records Forces-War-Records: Frustrating Technical Glitches and Lack of Support Ruin the Experience

This website, Forces-war-records (forces-war-records.co.uk), is all about using filters to find the information you need. You can choose what you want to search for and the site will show you the relevant results. But let me tell you, every single time I tried to fill in my information and search for a specific record, something went wrong. It would freeze up, kick me out, or even reset the filter choices, sending me right back to where I started. It was so frustrating!

And when I reached out to their support team for help, all they had to say was, "We can see that you opened a record, so there's no problem on our end." Can you believe that? It's like they didn't care about the issues I was facing at all. I mean, come on, our brave relatives fought in the war, and this is the kind of attitude they have? It's a total rip off!

I really wanted to find some valuable information on this site, but the constant technical glitches and the lack of support just ruined the whole experience for me. It's such a shame because I had high hopes for Forces-war-records. But in the end, it was a major disappointment.
