I was at the Fred Myer on 72nd and Pacific in Tacoma on 12/03/2024 at around 7:30 pm. I was in hurry because I was trying to get to the pharmacy before they closed. I noticed an employee looking at me in a way that made me a little uncomfortable, but I brushed it off and continued shopping. When I used self-checkout, I notice all of the security, the manager and self-checkout cashiers were watching me check-out, and they were not trying to be discreet. I was humiliated to the fullest. Is this Fred Myers policy being to harass customers they think are doing something wrong? Because I do feel like if they were trying to catch me shoplifting, they would have been a lot more discreet in watching me, not be so oblivious like they were being to me just to humiliate me. I do all my grocery shopping with F.M. as well get my close to ten prescriptions filled there and I feel I should be treated as a valued customer, not a thief. If Fred Myer really feels like I am doing something wrong in their store, then they need to address me with that. Otherwise, it's harassment.
Desired outcome: To be treated like a valued customer.
