I think some reviews that are only 1 star are missing the point of this program
I think some reviews that are only 1 star are missing the point of this program. We joined because we were really behind with our creditors. Thats the point of the program. Your credit will most likely already be in trouble and it may stay that way through the program until everything is cleared. We were drowning with interest and minimum payments and didnt know what else to do before filing for bankruptcy. We breathed the biggest sigh of relief once we joined and the details were spelled out. They took care of everything, including when we were served papers from one of our creditors. They do all the dirty work to negotiate on our behalf. Every other week a specified amount was withdrawn from our bank and they did the rest. It took about 3 years to settle all accounts and weve just graduated! So excited to start our new credit card debt free lives! Thank you!
My wife and I have experienced several financial setbacks in recent months due to health problems the company we work
My wife and I have experienced several financial setbacks in recent months due to health problems the company we work for having to close due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We had gotten behind in meeting our financial obligations, with no end in sight. We contacted Freedom Debt Relief and was treated with respect and genuine concern over our financial situation. I am truly impressed with FDR so far. They have been working on our behalf since August, 2020, and have already negotiated two structured settlements with two different creditors. We only have one more creditor for FDR to negotiate a settlement, and we will hopefully finish the process and be debt free within the next 18-24 months. We would strongly recommend FDR to anyone who is experiencing financial difficulties due to the pandemic or other uncontrollable circumstances that might cause financial setbacks.
I was drowning in $10,000 dollars in credit card debt due to terminations in employment. This company is easy to work with, they take care of all the technical parts, all you have to do is keep up with your monthly payments. The company works extremely hard to reach settlements in your debt quickly and puts you at ease where you can continue to go about your normal routine. So far I am in the progress of settling two credit debt and I'm still able to make my other bill payments. I am looking forward to being debt free in the next few years. So far everything has been going well with FDR. Be advised though, this will bring your credit score low in the beginning but as your debts become settled, you will see a steady rise in your credit score and you are able to apply for other credit cards as well. FDR also offers financial counseling to help you manage your finances easier. I rate it 4 stars for now only because I'm still going through the process but so far I am satisfied with the process so far.
First you like to thank you for helping me with my debt. I know it takes a while, but after 12 months, you guys have already negotiated one working on the second one. Hopefully you get to the PayPal one they want to come and take my house really dont want that to happen and work too hard for my house for *** $2000 not worth it anyways I think its a good program shove the other programs
So far they have been amazing. Was super helpful and explained all my questions I had. When I first spoke to my rep I was a little skeptical, but they have been moving faster than I expected and I could not be happier. I highly recommend them. I am still going through the process, but I have more hope in this company more than I did when I started. Definitely a happy customer.
It help me get back on track. And start a fresh start over.
I just graduated from the program!
I just graduated from the program! Totally debt free! I highly recommend Freedom Debt Relief. Everyone was easy to work with and explained in detail what I needed to know. If I had a question there was always someone there to talk to me. I even used their chat a few times, and again had my questions answered. I would highly recommend using their lawyers to deal with your debt during this process. They handled everything and I never had to deal with debt collectors. Bottom line...you have to have the designated funds available and in your account each month, check your emails and or text messages and respond quickly. This is detrimental to getting your debts paid off. I am extremely happy! Debt free feels so good! Also, I just noticed a deposit made to my account by FDR. That is for money I had left in my designated account after my debt was paid! You can trust them to do what they say they will do.
Excellent customer service, user friendly! The agents step you through the process and explain all details as well as send out useful hints and emails. They promised I would save, and I am!
Happy with program - feel more at ease and less worry
Everyone Ive spoken with has been so helpful and sweet. They answer all my questions and never make me feel like I dont know whats going on. I just got my first settlement and it was such an amazing feeling!
I have not gotten very far in the process yet. The customer service is wonderful. Very kind ,Patient and understanding of my situation. So far *** excited about the way things are going and how much brighter my future looks.

Although I can see the frustration points that others have commented on (settlement percentages that weren't initially specified, outlined, or discussed) I do have to recognize that FDR has helped me accomplish something I was not able to do on my own and now I have graduated the program (still waiting for the graduation package-was told they have to confirm there aren't any disputes of payment amounts before they can stop my monthly payments), I look forward to be debt free and free from the almost $500.00 payment I've made for the last almost 4 years. Thanks to FDR I haven't had to deal with creditors harassing my phone, or my mail box, they took care of everything. They negotiated the debt amounts down to change on the dollar, something I never could have done. Over all, I am truly grateful to them for helping me get these debts paid and it was definitely a learning experience on how not to use your credit cards.
Doing a debt consolidation was the worst decision my husband and I could have made. First, any debt settlement company is never going to tell you the whole truth. Second, the companies only tell you that you can save more money than half of everything you owe, but they don't tell you how much they will charge for paying the bills. Each account or debt has a different charge by the company. In the end, I think that one ends up paying double what one would have paid if one had spoken to the bank that one owes them, not to mention that it destroys their credit, leaving it at the lowest. Freedom Debt of Relief opened an account for us with a bank where the money was deposited for them to have access but the bank charges you $9.99 a month during the process. To this, you add that when you finish paying the debt you have to report that debt when the taxes are done, and that money that you did not pay is like being given cash. Lastly, Freedom Debt of Relief cannot deal with 2 card accounts that we had and those debts are still there, we are worse than at the beginning. When I spoke to a representative of Freedom Debt Relief he told me that if any bank took us to court they would send a lawyer from their firm. Surprise, a bank took my husband to court, called FDR and they told me that they would study the case and give me an answer, the answer was to tell my husband to appear in court alone and the bank representative told him to my husband that FDR was the worst company she knew. FDR is Freedom Debt of Relief. If I could give them -0 I would but I can't. Do not be fooled! when you talk to a representative they always ask you to pay more so you can finish sooner. but they forget why one is in this program. I started with this company on October 2020 and this month I finished to pay some debts no all.
Thank you, FDR, for making this process so easy. I am so glad to be graduating from the program; not only did I get my debt paid off, but I also raised my credit score. FDR was always available to answer any questions, and it was a relief early on to have them handle all the creditor calls. It took so much stress off. I highly recommend this company if you are having credit problems.
When my spouse died unexpectedly in the fall, I was scrambling to keep a roof over my kids' head and deal with debt. I finally decided to look at debt settlement agencies because I needed to lower my monthly payments as much as possible. Out of the options, Freedom Debt Relief seemed promising. However, I haven't been thrilled with Freedom Debt Relief after nearly 5 months of working with them. The information I received from my initial contact person who enrolled me was very different from the information I've received from other representatives since the process started. That misinformation has caused a lot of frustration and phone calls for me since. For starters, they tell you to stop paying everything immediately upon enrollment so they can negotiate. The person who enrolled me said they provide letters for each creditor that explains you're enrolled in the program. Unfortunately, that's not true. They don't reach out to any creditors until your account "has adequate funds to negotiate." This means you will receive phone calls from each creditor weekly or even daily because they want you to make a payment.I was also told that the person who enrolled me would "be available anytime" for assistance. Every time I try to call or email her, I get the run around and am told to call someone else. She's done nothing to help at all. Finally, they tell you that they will negotiate settlements. What they don't tell you is that even when making payments on these settlements, the creditor will still report that you aren't paying and it will continue showing on your credit report every month until the settlement is paid in full.I'm working 2 jobs and trying to recover, but I'm not sure this company really helped me at all. Very frustrated and sad. Absolutely can't recommend unless you're desperate like I was. And even then, I'd check other options first.

The dashboard is easy to use. Having a live operator available is helpful. The website provides step-by-step instructions for each process. Make sure to read your paperwork and understand the breakdown of your settlement amount and the fees charged by FDR for each settlement. These two things will determine your total cost. So, if you owed $9,000 and settled for $4,500, and FDR's settlement fee is 50% of that settlement, your total cost will be $2,250 plus $4,500. Therefore, in reality, you will owe $6,750.00. You will still save money, but not as much as it may seem at first. Your credit score will significantly decrease. So, do you want a high credit score or to save thousands? I chose the latter. In conclusion, you can pay a lot or you can pay less, but you will have to pay. FDR will receive their fees. If you have the energy and time to negotiate with your creditors, you may save more or end up in court. If you use FDR, you will likely save more and avoid court, but there is still a possibility of going to court. However, with FDR, you will have a better credit record. I graduated early.
Yes, I was very skeptical, I was on my last straw with nothing else to lose - decided to give this program a try!
Yes, I was very skeptical, I was on my last straw with nothing else to lose - decided to give this program a try!I was projected with an estimate of 48 months to become debt-free. Graduated in 24 months by doing additional single-deposits along the way with my monthly payments. As debts are settled, my credit score starts to climb. The entire goal was to reduce your debt and give you financial freedom, so you can live the life you wanted. It worked for me. I'm so glad I made the right call to enroll in this program. It has been a life changer and I have learned to live without credit cards. They are a true great company. They do all the talking, backing us up, lawyered us up and making settlements for small price that comes out of your monthly payments. With that being said, I only paid roughly $16,000 to cover my $30,000 debts.Highly recommended for those aren't planning on taking out any loans because it was either this program or facing with more debts that will take you nowhere - Thank you for all you do!
Excellent Service
Excellent Service. My Credit Card Companies.. Citi Bank & Chase thought it was a good idea to lower my available credit on all of the accounts I had w/ them during COVID EPIDEMIC 2020 which lowered my debt ratio & my Credit score pummeled from the high 700’s to Low 500’s.. I begged & pleaded with them to leave my available credit the same. BY THE WAY…. I’ve NEVER MISSED NOT 1 payment ever & always paid more than the minimum payment on any of my cards including store cards in over 25!years. .. Not only did I have several family member die from COVID… my brother & pregnant wife were executed in a botched home invasion which I had to take custody of the kids & pay for a lawyer to keep them out of foster care. I had to help pay for burials & law fees for the kids. I was referred to them by another coworker that was recovering from debt from a divorce.. I am very HAPPY WITH THE SERVICES PROVIDED FROM FREEDOM DEBT RELIEF. I’ve been in the program for 8 months & they already resolve 4 of my accounts for half the balance . I recommend this company
I was 19 years old when I applied for my first cash back student credit card
I was 19 years old when I applied for my first cash back student credit card. Within 4 years, I had 10 credit cards and over $13,000 in credit card debt. I believe that having a stable job and making my minimum payments, I would be fine handling my debt. Everyone goes through life events out of their control. I ended up being late on payments and this caused a snowball effect. It was scary at first having to let the credit cards go into collections and seeing my credit score drop, but that was part of the process that this program in order to help me get out of this dark place. Truthfully, I had to pause my program for a few months but once I started making the deposits again, I was able to get more settlements accomplished. I have to remind myself that this debt did not happen over night. Looking at my progress now, I should be credit card debt free in about two years. I’ll be 27 years old by then. You learn from your mistakes and please don’t feel like you are the only one going through hardships and that there isn’t assistance out there. There are programs like FDR that are advocates for you and want to help you succeed financially too.
I, like many other Americans, have been struggling to make even the minimum payment on my credit cards
I, like many other Americans, have been struggling to make even the minimum payment on my credit cards. The situation worsened with the onset of Covid19, as I was unable to go to the store for purchases. As a result, I increasingly relied on online purchases, which only added to my already high debt. I had accepted the fact that I would never be able to pay off my credit card debt. However, my perspective changed when I received a call from a representative of Freedom Debt Relief. I explained my desperate need to end my debts, and after speaking with him, I felt reasonably assured that Freedom Debt Relief could help me within a reasonable amount of time, possibly months. Therefore, I agreed to let them assist me in escaping my self-inflicted nightmare. Throughout the program, an FDR advisor was always available to answer any questions I had and provide updates on its progress. As of February 23, 2023, after a period of several years, I am finally free from my debt. I am grateful to Freedom Debt Relief and highly recommend them to anyone in a similar situation. Contact them and they can work the miracle you have been searching for to help you get out of debt.
I started the program in October 2019 with 7 delinquent accounts, 6 of which were credit cards
I started the program in October 2019 with 7 delinquent accounts, 6 of which were credit cards. I was overwhelmed with debt and stressed out. One of my credit cards had a minimum payment of $200 per month, which was a lot for me. I couldn't sleep at night because of the anxiety and stress. I considered filing for bankruptcy, but I didn't qualify due to changes in the law. A friend suggested debt relief, as they had done it twice before. I searched online and found Freedom Debt Relief. I remember the phone call on October 4, 2019, when I spoke with a representative named [Name]. We discussed my debt, and he said I qualified for the program. He advised me to stop making payments on my credit cards and loan, which was scary for me. I was worried about the impact on my credit score. [Name] explained that they couldn't negotiate the debt unless it was delinquent. The creditors started calling and sending letters. To reduce stress, I changed my phone number on all my accounts to Freedom Debt Relief's contact information. This helped because I didn't have to deal with constant reminders. Twice a month, like clockwork, funds were withdrawn from my account for settlements. Today, I completed the program and am debt-free. It feels amazing! I highly recommend Freedom Debt Relief.
I was in a lot of debt, to the point where I couldn't even afford to buy food for my wife and kids
I was in a lot of debt, to the point where I couldn't even afford to buy food for my wife and kids. I had 11 different credit cards, and every payday, all of my money went towards paying off those cards. It got so bad that I had to use a credit card to buy a gift card just so my family could eat. My debt with that creditor kept growing, and it felt like my entire life and work was controlled by them because of the amount of debt I had. Then, I heard about Freedom Debt Relief LLC on the radio and ComplaintsBoard.com. At first, I thought it might be a scam, but they turned out to be really helpful. They guided me through the whole process, and when I agreed to work with them, they told me something surprising - stop making payments to the creditors. I was shocked at first, but they explained that this was the best way to get the creditors to work with them. I felt guilty, like I was doing something wrong or stealing from my creditors, but the truth is, I wasn't. With the help of Freedom Debt Relief LLC, I was able to bring my son to McDonald's, something we hadn't been able to do before because we couldn't afford it. I used to feel so bad because I couldn't even buy a cheap item from the dollar menu. All of my money was already spoken for, going towards bills and more bills. I am grateful for the help and support I received from Freedom Debt Relief LLC throughout these past three years.
I have some concerns about the settlement fees, as mentioned
I have some doubts about the settlement fees as mentioned. But before we reached out to Freedom Debt Relief, me and my wife were deep in debt mostly because of her medical expenses without insurance. It was very hard to keep up with the monthly payments, and we were getting more behind with each creditor as months passed. I really couldn't see any solution other than bankruptcy. Joining Freedom brought an immense relief because we no longer had to always worry about creditors. It was like we gave all our financial problems to them and could move on with our lives. This alone, the feeling of having a burden lifted, was worth all the time and expense. Even though maybe I could have negotiated payment terms by myself, dealing with so many overdue and collection accounts would have been too much stress. At my age, I don't want more stress. Our credit score went down at first, but it was already going down fast. Then, we saw our score start to get better, moving from poor to fair in just a few months. Talking to the representatives was very nice; they were understanding. They answered my questions about the program clearly and even mentioned other options if I wasn't happy with how things were going. Overall, me and my wife are really satisfied with being part of the program. Although it will take a few more years to completely clear our debts, it's much better than anything we could have done by ourselves. Thank you, Freedom.
Freedom Debt Relief is a lifesaver!
Freedom Debt Relief is a lifesaver! I completed their program in 14 months. I had $6270 worth of debt and FDR helped me settle all of my debt for $3049, saving me $3221! FDR handled most of the work while I made sure to make my monthly deposits on time. If you cant make your payment on your scheduled day, FDR will work with you to make it for a different day you are able to. They walk you through every step of the way and keep you updated on what is going on. Your settlements from their negotiations depend on you making your payment every month so they have the funds to negotiate quicker. Their tactics and strategy are amazing! They will ask you, in the beginning, how you got to where you are with your debt, during the enrollment process. Be honest and own up to your mistakes. They want to help. FDR made it easy for me to enroll and submit proof of all of my debts. The resources and tools FDR has offered, I will carry with me as I start fresh with a clean slate. At 33 years old, this was the best late birthday gift I could give myself. I have learned so much about being responsible with my credit and the importance of keeping my payments up to date. Freedom Debt Relief helped me when nobody else would. They believed in me and gave me a chance. This whole experience has given me a new lease on my financial life and has eased a good amount of my stress. My graduation packet will contain all of the letters from my settled accounts that I can have as proof if I need to use them. The resources and tools are there to help you. Making your payments on time is key. If you can increase your deposit or make extra payments when you can, I recommend doing so. If you are not able to use your banks checking account, try using your savings account for FDR to withdraw the money each month. FDR will not pay a settlement until you authorize them to do so: Thank you Freedom Debt Relief for giving me this opportunity to be debt free and able to breathe again. Keep up the good work.
My wife and I found ourselves in a situation of having too much unsecured debt last year, but with the help of Freedom
My wife and I found ourselves in a situation of having too much unsecured debt last year, but with the help of Freedom Debt Relief (FDR), credit counseling, and Consolidation Plus, we were able to rebuild our credit in less than 10 months. When we started the program, our credit scores were in the high 500s and low 600s, and we had around $40,000 in unsecured debt. Now, both of our credit scores are in the high 700s and we are completely debt-free.
Before enrolling in the FDR program, we tried to get other consolidation loans, but we were rejected. This was not surprising considering the loan amount we requested and our debts and credit scores at the time. FDR took care of contacting our creditors and negotiating settlements on our behalf. We would review the settlement offers and either approve them or request further negotiation. After approving all of the settlement offers, we were referred to Consolidation Plus by FDR. Consolidation Plus allowed us to consolidate our debts and approved an unsecured loan of approximately $30,000. They used this loan to pay off the remaining debt from the settlements.
It is true that the consolidation loan had a high interest rate and required bi-weekly payments. We were aware of this because we carefully read the loan documents and they were reviewed with us as well. They even strongly advised us to pay more whenever possible. As mentioned before, we also went through credit counseling, followed a strict budget, and were able to pay off the loan in less than 6 months.
Without the help of FDR and Consolidation Plus, we would still be struggling to pay our bills and our credit scores would still be poor. They provided us with guidance, support, and the necessary tools to become debt-free. The customer support was also excellent. They took the time to answer our questions, whether it was over the phone or via email, and they always followed up with us if we contacted them after hours.
Currently, we have a few credit cards, but we make sure to keep the balances below $500. If we don't have the cash, we don't put it on a credit card unless we can pay it off the following month. It is important to do your research, read everything carefully, listen, ask questions, and seek outside counseling. By doing so, you will be fine. The whole process was definitely a learning experience for us, and we will never find ourselves in this position again. 5 STARS!
We are down to our last 5 accounts out of the 22 we had enrolled
We are down to our last 5 accounts out of the 22 we had enrolled. Only 2 accounts were settled at more than 50% and those were hard companies to start with when we tried to get the to work with us when my husband was temporarily out of work. One of those the settlement was for a little more than the amount enrolled, however I know from my own experience that that company is horrible. Freedom still did much better with that company than we could when we tried. I see many people complaining about settlement fees. We are okay with paying, do these people complaining think that the company can do this work for free, think about what the settlement fees pay for, phone bills and all over head, the employees that do the work need to be paid, and the cost of giving benefits the their employee's it's not free to them. Freedom has done well for us most of our accounts were settled for less than 50%. We got into a problem trying to survive while my husband was out of work. We spent 5 years trying to get out on our own and even trying to deal with some of the companies on our own. Most would not even discuss a settlement with us. I took notice that some one was complaining that they are in the program 3 years and have a graduation date in 2023. We have the same however if you do the math once all your accounts are settled that is just a estimate. I do the math of all fees owed yet along with what is still owed on our settlements and divide that by our monthly payment amount and we will be done way before 2023. When you have enough in your account to pay off some accounts call them ask them to settle accounts off if the funds are there to accommodate it. Our daughter and son in law did that. When the company made settlements they need to stretch some out longer to make sure they can accommodate for any companies that are more demanding. The fees involved are in the agreement so people read the fine print if you don't like it then don't start the program. We figured it would have taken us 15 to 20 years at the interest rates to pay all our accounts off if we never would have put any thing on them and kept struggling to make the minimum payment. We never had anything left at the end of the month to save if there was an emergency. We now have a little and thank goodness because we just had 4 break downs we never could have paid for before. We can only see our financial situation improving because when we are done the end result with our monthly payment to Freedom will result in over $1200 more in our pockets every month ( this is our payment to Freedom plus the additional amount originally saved monthly going into Freedom). End result the company has done what we contracted with them to do. No services are free. Thank you Freedom.

Portfolio went to court without even informing me since everything was at freedom and has now garnished my wages 6 years later
Desired outcome: Need to stop garnishing or something against freedom debt relief
Debt settlement / unethical business tactics
I was told from the beginning I was in control my money and account with them. They could settle all my debts and save the day. First off not everybody settles especially Kohls/CapitalOne they knew some of my accounts wouldn’t from the get go but they didn’t tell me this. Yes they settled a couple small credit card debts at first, then when they had the money to settle a few more, they held it until they could settle the largest one. Big payday for them. They took all the money out of my account for their fee then didn’t have any funds left to pay the creditor they negotiated with and defaulted. They wanted me to pay for them to settle the same debt again because they took all my money the first time and couldn’t pay the $46,. They won’t refund my my money after a few attempts. I couldn’t get any answers after several calls, asking where my money went. Then finally got a hold of a manager that admitted to their deceptive tactics. So I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy after they took my $3600 for nothing. They was my last hope and the money they took was all it had, after being sued I saved what I could and filed chapter 13 bankruptcy. Thanks FDR!
Desired outcome: Do the right thing, Refund my money, and an apology.
Debt consolidation
I am no longer a client. Yall total [censored]edup my life.
In the terms of service contract, yall specificly state you WILL Pay off the client most likely to sue, Which was obviously Bank of America because I woed them twice as much as any other account.
But from the discovery of them sueing me, I learned that they had not heard a word or received a payment for over 2 years. All that time I was paying I think 200 amonth to FDR. When I got served papers by the constipal I contacted FDR I was told everything was OK dont contact BOA, I Ineeded to just pay yall more every month. Which was impossible because Im an old retart on a disability income. Also yall told me I would not ever get a rate increase.
So yall just blew me off. Yall payed yourselves about 10 times at 22% by paying of the smallest debts first. BUt all that time and the most significant account never recieved a cent.
My went from 11 credit cards, to cant get even 1.
my credit score went from 710 to 420. So I could not even afford a lawyer to go to trial. I could not even get an equity loan on the house that is totally paid for. I did nt want to go to home equity but I checked it out and found yall had rendered me unable to even do that.
I was sue in absentia and lost because me nor a lawyer ever showed up!
I was totally stressed out thinking this would next go to criminal court. apparently it never did. But I didnt know, still dont know. When im stressed I go manic, I was working as a computer engineer subcontractor, they fired me for being manic, incompetent, stress causes loss of sleep, lack of sleep [censored]s up my bypolar mania.
Desired outcome: recover my credit score so i can get a loan for mama proper christian funeral. It aint just me that got [censored]ed. This took mama down along with me.She is my court ordered gaurdian

Unethical behavior.
I do not believe this company has its client's best interest as a priority. They do everything in their power to stretch out your payments and keep you paying as long as possible. As my first two debts get paid off they refuse to take those funds and apply them to the remaining debts. Instead, they will continue making small payments for months, with a large balloon payment at the end. This stretches it out for almost a year more than is required. I called and spoke with them multiple times about this, and they made various excuses, with the only solution being I make extra payments and resolve the debts quicker. Then get a refund of whatever amount is leftover in the account. They are counting on me to either be unable/unwilling to make extra payments. Thereby collecting their monthly payment and stretching the debt out further. Why can the extra funds not be an "extra payment"?
On top of this one of the debts had been written off and sold to a debt collector, they negotiated a settlement with them. Anyone in this business should know you never do this. When they contacted me they told me they had made a settlement with the original debtor. I will now end up paying several thousand more than I could have avoided. As well as the out-of-pocket damage, the collection agency has attacked my credit score driving it down nearly 50 points. Again, they are just looking to get as much debt from you settled and stretch it out for as long as possible.
On top of this with the fees they charge and the length of time they stretch the settlements out for you will end up paying a little more than you originally owed.
The desired outcome - Refunded all money paid to the collection agency due to their misrepresentation. The collection agency stops the attack on my credit report. The money from my paid-off debts goes directly to the remaining debt.
Desired outcome: See Above-
Fees verse debt
I will say this, when things got really out of control due to a cancer diagnosis and the domino affect it had, it was a relief to have all the phone calls, letters etc, handled by FDR and sure sounded good at the time. I will say their customer service has always been wonderful. However I'm now 2 years into the program, according to my Dashboard, I've paid a little over 8K in deposits to FDR, out of the 8K, $4409 has been paid towards FDR settlement fees. Now that just the settlement fees. I also for some reason pay 2 separate monthly fees of $12.00 and $9.95 which adding that all together is close to 5K and I'm not looking like I'm even half way there n paying any of these creditors off. So to simplify, 800K I've paid in, 5000K in fees, leaves $3K going to my 20K debt in 2 years. Just knows the facts before you sign up, I think I was desperate at the time and now I'm finally looking at the "big picture". Other options aren't always feasible, I know but just be prepared for a lengthy and overall more costly process.
scam
I am writing to stop my account with FDR. It's a scam, already exposed! I am retired and disabled, along with my wife. My debt has increased since day 1 with this contract. No accounts were resolved, and my debt increased over $1000.00. in 3 months, my credit score is ruined, If anyone out there in the real world, can help my wife and I with this awful situation? please Email me at [protected]@aol.com Thank You.
Desired outcome: Full Refund for Services
I am having so much trouble with this so called debt relief company.
They keep taking money out of my account even though the contract was supposed to be finished in April. They have lied to me about the amount they settled my two accounts for and keep taking out money even though they have already taken out $32, 830.00 and this was supposed to end on 03/26/2020 and they have taken out two more months, April & May 2020.
They list paying off the two credit cards as 12, 000.00 each and I know that is a lie because I had notices from the card companies that they would take a much smaller amount and the Freedom Debt Relief told me that I shouldn't do that! They are cheating people all the time and it seems that there isn't anyone to close them down.
Please help us, I am a senior and they are taking my social security.
Ruined my credit
Basically they ruined my credit (went from 720 to 500) and offered me a loan from "an affiliated" company and my credit was so bad that I had no other option.in the beginning they told my I would see a temporary drop in my credit but it would come right back up a couple months after they finished negotiations. Three years later i'm still paying for my mistake with them, the high interests loan they got me and my credit is still ruined. And instead of credit card debt it is debt to them. Scammers. Can't buy a car, can't buy a house, can't get anything.
I gave them over 11k to pay off debt
Some things came off my credit but the big ones did not. I ended up declaring bankruptcy chapter 13 because they kept raising my monthly fee. And it took them a long time to negotiate my debt and when they did some credit card companies already filed suit against me. I had to let there "attorneys" take care of it and I ended up paying more for each of those credit cards then I started out with. I started with them in July 2016 due to a fall I had at work and was on workers compensation. They said they could get everything paid off in five years; no way that would have ever happened.
Predatory consolidation for early debt relief
They collected funds from 2018 to 2020 monthly negotiated several loans and charged monthly fees throughout the program. Due to the consistency in monthly timely deposits, they offered an early payment consolidation loan through their company. However, once the remaining debts were negotiated (which were a tremendous savings) they charged me fees for early settlements and interest at 22% which placed me in debt with them for the next four years of over $12, 000.00 Additionally, I have paid into the program over $3, 500.00 that being computed in addition to the future debt over $15, 000.00 which places me deeper in the red than I was when I started the program. I was misled entirely into believing that this would improve my credit and free me from substantial debt in less time. I could have made payment arrangement with the creditors and negotiated and be in a better status. Please advise.

Freedom debt relief
Freedom is misleading, did not payoff my debt like they explained, I was sued three times, the raised the price on me due to being sued, . I ended up with a judgement and I lost my job so I negotiated some creditors myself and I told Freedom I couldn't pay for awhile because I did not have a job I would resume once I did. And the next day they withdraw $576.00 from my bank without authorization after I called and explained the situation and when I called back to let them know they denied they did anything wrong.. Even though the call was recorded. Earlier in the program when I learned that they only pay one creditor at a time and over charge from what I owed, messed up my credit from it and when I said I wanted to leave the program they told me that i would have to owe them $10000 to leave the program.. I am really disappointed in this company they left a bad taste in my mouth.. I was told after I lost my job to go drive UBer..
Debt settlement unethical behaviour
I listened to reps from FDR and listed 2 debts with them one for about $50k and another for $10k. I made it clear that I wanted the $10k debt resolved first then the $50k one. They started sending me settlement approval requests for the $50k debt via email/text/phone, I reiterated my preferences and they kept ignoring me, then they started processing the $50k settlement without my approval.
Have contacted them several times, responses must be from robots.
I have requested a termination of there services and refund of money I have deposited in their program minus fees (even though they have not adhered to my preferences).
Much better if you deal with creditors/collection agencies yourself and work out a settlement. Which is what I ended up doing.
Debt consolidation relief
I recieved a loan consolidation advertisement from green leaf financial thru the us mail. When I called it turned out to be fredon debt relief. The salesmen took my info and told me that I should stop making payments to the cc companies and instead make monthly payments to a dedicated account. He assured me that fdr would negotiate with the cc companies and I would be debt free Jan 2019. I was told that a lawyer was not necessary but if needed I should use nllg. I like an idiot drank the cool aid.
After two of the cc companies were in settlement the third filed a court case against me. When I contacted fdr I was put in contact with a lawyer from nllg who informed me that I would need to make two balloon payments of $5000 and increase my monthly dedicated account payments by over 50% for the next 20 months. From what I can tell from their dashboard the reason for the increase in deposits was to pay their fees.
When I objected to these terms with a nllg lawyer I was told to contact fdr. When I contacted fdr I was told to contact nllg. One of the nllg lawyers even told me that due to the size of the debt the bank involved will not negotiate with fdr. The lawyer for the bank even called me and said I would need a lawyer.
The lawyer for nllg told me that I needed to sign an agreement, that my only other option was bankruptcy. When I offered to pay at once instead of a structured settlement I was told I would be paying the same amount. I was never made aware of the ramifications associated with signing.
I ran into money problems in 2019 and was not able to make the second to last payment of the agreement on time. In Jan of 2019 I contacted nllg and a lawyer told me I should contact fdr. When I contacted fdr I was under the impression that it would not be a problem. At no time was I told that missing the payment would void the agreement nor was I given any other options on paying.
When I called an nllg lawyer for clarity on the matter he told me to contact fdr and laughed at my perdicement. I am being told that the payment plan was voided after the Jan payment was skipped yet payments for feb & March were processed. The April payment was skipped by fdr so they could collect the last of their fees leaving the account short funds to make the final payment to settle the account. w
Every time I emailed fdr on this matter I was pretty much told to call their 800 # to speak to a representative.Unfortunitly that's what got me in trouble in the first place. When I ask about what they have done to settle the account I get no answer. When I ask if they contacted the creditor in Jan 2019 concerning a late payment I get no answer. When I ask why I was not alerted to the fact that they were going to collect their fees instead of paying my creditor I get no answer
cbna (citibank) account number
Freedom debt relief has over $19, 000.00 in my account but is not doing anything to resolve this debt. It has been over a year with no action.
I have asked twic to be advised of the name, address and phone number of the institution that they are governered by; they continue to ignore my emails for this information.
I have now stopped my monthly contribution to them. However, I was told by chastin that if I fail to allow them to continue taking money from my account that I will be dropped from their program.
Their hidden fees, mislead you, take your money and ignore your request
Jointed Freedom Debt Relief 2017, made every single payment, am a single senior woman who prides herself on her credit. They took care of my debts, not sure which ones, the story changed everytime I asked someone when I called the company. I have some phone calls where they wanted to consolidate. I didn't understand and didn't want to pay longer for more interest, who would want to. Now I am stuck with extra interest first, see I asked for a payoff before this all happened. I got 2 diff stories, still waiting for the answer, I send my payment and they harrassed and tried to charge me for late payments when they had my payment. Dont trust these people, they are not helping you, they take more than the debt itself.
We are sorry to hear that your transition to Consolidation Plus has not been a smooth one. Records show that a representative from our Resolve Team, Stephen, has already been in contact with you to go over your contract dispute. At this time, the terms of the loan still stand.

They have not helped me at all.
Lies and broken promises
They are crooks dont listen to their promises. They will prioritize your debt as they see fit and dont care who is breathing down your neck. They will even refuse to make a courtesy call to let the debt collector know that you are working with them. They also have a class action law suit against them I just learned about for their false information and bad buisness practices look it up. My advice is stay far away from these crooks they do not provide the protection they claim and promise much less care about your concerns only taking your money

Debt relief/debt settlement fee
I began working with Freedom debt relief about a year ago. While they did settle a couple of my accounts at a reduced amount, their fees 23% of the debt re more than I owed. As a matter of fact, for one of my accounts, I was sued. Not only that but Discover refused to reduce the amount I owed and yet Freedom is still charging me a settlement fee of over $1...
Read full review of Freedom Debt ReliefThey took my money and put me in more debt than ever.
Freedom Debt relief called my home and persuaded me to work with them in debt releif. They said I will get freedom from debt releif and not have to do anything but pay Freedom Debt and they will negotiate with 4 credit card companies to reduce the amount owed and pay of quicker. I'm so angree I am ready to take this pay back in my own hands towards Freedom DEbt releif. I started on4/7/2017 and called them today on 4/2/2019 to find out only to credit cards are getting paid. two are not and have each acumulated $500.00 in late fees and interest. I now owe more money all together than when Freedom Debt Relief called me 2 years ago and offered to help me get out of debt. I want to sue for $25, 000.00 for a total of 4 credit cards, attorney fees, and stress. My husband and I got a divorce out of all of this.
They took 2 years of my money and I owe more now on 2 cards that they never worked with. I lost my good credit report and all my money went only to Freedom workers. I'm so angry look out!
Freedom Debt Relief put me into more debt when they Consolidated my loan without my knowledge. Not only that I try to talk to them I didn't understand the consolidation I was under a lot of stress during the time and now they threw hundreds dollars of extra charges they lied to me they misled me they're crooked. Now because of my hours and the Consolidated department hours have a hard time calling them they're harassing me. I'm a senior and they took advantage of me. Not only that I asked them for a detail itemization and all they throw is extra charges, extra charges of what? I need my stuff looked at I'm going to go to the newspaper and I'm going to the television news for what's going on here

8/12 consecutive months left of $510.00 to debt free
I signed on with freedom debt relief in October of 2014. About a year and 8 months and after paying off two creditors completely, I encountered financial trouble and I didn't have money to pay for drafts (this was during a period where no creditor was actively being paid by debt consolidation company; as two creditors were already paid off prior to the financial hardship and before any new active credit settlement was negotiated or accepted for settlement). After four months, ach debits resumed and a settlement was then agreed upon and after 8 consecutive months of paying $510.00 in monthly ach withdrawals and four months left of paying off third creditor, freedom debt relief takes all 8 of $510.00 monthly consecutive drafts as a result of the four months (when no payment was drafted when no creditors were actively being paid). Resulting in $4, 000 ach debits taken by freedom debt relief that was depleated and never paid to any creditor (despite falsely reporting on my client portal that the creditor was paid 8 months then claiming the creditor dropped the settlement after 8 consecutive payments where there were no missed drafts and only and 4 months remaining). The debt consolidation never paid the creditor any of those 8 month it claim as per shown on client portal (as evidenced when client called the original creditor to discover that freedom debt relief never paid them).
