This company is totally a scammer!
This company is totally a scammer! I have signed an agreement with them on 11/27 to install a solar system for my office building. As of today, 4/13/2022, more than two years already, NOTHING happened, they have done NOTHING! The salesperson who signed the agreement with me no longer works in this company. Their Chief Revenue Officer Jeremy R keeps making all kinds of stories. I have paid $100,000.00 to them. NOTHING happened more than two years. This is a total fraudulent company!
We hired FreeVolt to install a 36 panel solar system in 2017
We hired FreeVolt to install a 36 panel solar system in 2017. The proposal generated by Jeremy R stated we would generate 17 kilowatt-hours a year. The system has never generated more than 12 kilowatt-hours a year. After the first year I contacted them to complain. They stated they would refund me the difference for the lost power generation. That never happened. Then they moved three panels which made no difference. I have reached out every year. This summer they sent a technician to the house who said the power is not being generated because of the chimney, a structural part of the house that was there when they wrote their proposal. I should have listened to Renova who told me that FreeVolt's proposal was not accurate but Jeremy R assured me that it was. BAIT AND SWITCH. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!
DO NOT SIGN! RUN! I signed for my solar installation and battery at the end of August and completed financing papers. I was told that despite living in Northern Palm Springs (windy area), a ballast system (weighted) could be installed instead of drilling the roof. They did not seem to act (even assess my roof) until the end of September . Mohamed promised it would take 3 months to complete installation. If it took longer than 3 months, they would pay my electricity bills. 1) Installation did not occur until the end of June . They claimed personal delays with manufacturer and COVID-19 (fair enough, with COVID). 2) When the installers finally arrived they said "Oh, we can't install a ballast system, we'll have to drill into your roof and hire a roofer" Fine. Do it. Oh...and they lost my finance paperwork. I had to resubmit. 3) Mohamed claimed that due to switching battery manufacturer, plans for the battery would have to be resubmitted. It is September 3, and I still have no battery AND... 4) I am still not connected to Edison. I submitted yet another bill to Mohamed who said in email, "We paid $1500 for the roofer. I think that's more than fair." To which, I replied that a) I was promised you would cover my electric bills if installation went over and b) the fact that you had to pay for a roofer is an error and a broken promise on your part. 5) Today (9/3) a) I am waiting for my battery to be installed after multiple calls, b) I am waiting to be connected to Edison after over 2 months and am still receiving bill, and c) I have not been reimbursed for my electric due not being connected.

Don't use this company
Don't use this company. David Anderson was our salesperson and was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, FreeVolt does not keep their written promises. They promised excess energy would be purchased from us from Apparent Energy in Novato Ca. This never happened because Apparent has no agreement to do this with FreeVolt. FreeVolt promised at least $3,000 in SGIP grant. Only the installer can apply for this grant on our behalf. Everyone at FreeVolt said Jeremy Reynolds handles that. He does not returns emails or calls. FreeVolt took over 8 months to complete installation. Mohammed Ali blamed the delay on the city because they can't get the permit. When I called the city they said our permit was approved weeks ago but no one at FreeVolt returns the city's calls to pick up their plans and permits. Nothing we are told from FreeVolt is believable. VERY FRUSTRATING
