These people charged my mastercard twice at $9.99 each. I NEVER authorized them to charge my card. I NEVER gave them my credit card number. I have NO IDEA how they got my information. I called the 877 number that was on my credit card statement and spoke to 'Mary'. 'Mary' was very rude and at first, refused to refund my money, even though I explained to her that I didn't authorize these charges and I have never even heard of this business. I then told her that I would call the Better Business Bureau, the FCC, or WHOMEVER I had to call to get my refund for charges that were never authroized in the first place. She (Mary) put me on hold for 10 minutes, when she came back to the line she then decided that she would refund my money to me, only after I had to get rude and threaten them. It is absoutely ludacris that I have to fight with people to give MY money back to ME that I never even spent. I sincerely hope that something is done with this company. FYE should not be able to get away with unauthorized charges any longer! Something needs to be done immediately!

You actually did authorize them to charge your card when you signed the receipts.

The employees are legally required to inform you that the service they are offering will bill you, they instead insist that it is free because they make commission and no one holds them accountable. This is fraud.

Yeah, I totally know how you feel. They did the same thing to me too. I'm not quite sure how they got my card number, and quite frankly I don't know if I want to know. I had it for a whole year and just found out today that they have been charging my account since December of '08. I like how you complained and threatened them, I think I'm going to do the same thing. That's $120 that I had no idea they were taking out.

UGH! I got the VIP card in august, they said it would be free for a month so I said "why not". I didnt use it once because you had to follow up on it, send in some random card (like a rebate) and use the site to get the gift cards and such which I didnt care enough to do. I called and canceled it before my month was over. The end... Right? Nope. three months later I find out that they had still be charging me the 9.99 a month fee for the card. Wait? I CANCELED IT! I call them and nicely told them I wanted it canceled. Until the guy asked me "why". So I told him why...Oh, I dont know. Maybe you have been charging me for this S*** for the last three months AFTER I canceled it. He says "I am sorry ma'am. But how in the world did you cancel it but still get charged?". Escuse me? " THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, thank you very much." UGH! He still tried to sell it to me after this and I inturupted him "I dont care... at all. I-- DONT---WANT--IT". Sure it gives you a 20$ gift card... I really dont care because I will never go to FYE again... thanks though.

P.s. They get your information when you use your card at one of the stores. It takes the card info when they run it and if you accept the VIP card they they charge you for it.

Luckily I was completely informed about the card. Too bad some idiot on the phone decided not to cancel my membership. (I am sure they get in trouble if they have too many cancelations.)

The lesson learned? Dont use your credit card at FYE... wait dont go to FYE at all since they charge you a lot more than other places... go to wal mart lol. But thats just my opinion. =)

When I purchased an item at FYE at Christmas time, I was told my membership had expired, something I never paid for in the past as a monthly item. I was asked if I wanted to renew it, so I say "sure", and was rushed along as the line was long. I didn't read any fine print since I thought it was only a yearly fee, until my niece brought to my attention she was being charged monthly. Sure enough, I saw a $11.99 charge to my mastercard (which I used on my purchase) in January. When I called to cancel it, I was told it was already cancelled on the 9th (?) and a refund was in the process. OK, so I wait and watch my account. Not only was there NO refund, but another fee of $11.99 showed up today, 2/5/10. I called and was told "no refunds allowed". I said, "why, since I was told two weeks ago a refund was processing"? I was put on hold so he could speak to a manager (yea, right) so see if a refund could be done. Since I never signed anything, or authorized these charges, and was not told there was a monthly fee, I needed my money back. So after trying to convince me to keep the pass, that I could use it at restaurants, etc, ...I was told I would receive a refund. It certainly doesn't make sense to spend over $120 a year to save 10% on a purchase I make once a year. I wonder how many people are out there unknowingly spending $11.99 a month. FYE is very sneaky indeed.

OMG I got an FYE backstage pass card in NOVEMBER! I called and cancelled it two weeks before the 30 day free trial period was over. I thought it was all done right? WRONG! In January they charged my card the 11.99 fee and I didn't know about it. The fee overdrew my account and caused me to have to pay back the 11.99 plus my banks overdraft fees... then I never knew about it until 20 days after they charged my card when my bank sends me a letter saying that I had 10 days to pay it or they'd close my account and report me to Chexsystems. I was so angry. I tried 3 more times to cancel the card and they always give me this hour long explaination on how good the card is...then encourage me to keep it... so frustrated and defeated i hang up...

More importantly, I try to use the card and NO ONE has ever heard of it. I tried to use it at a restaurant, movie theater, and another electronics and media store. I couldn't use that card anywhere and felt quite silly asking the cashier if they accept it and then getting a "What the hell is this" look.

Don't use your card at FYE and they should def. get in trouble for all this mess they create.

Ok I went shopping with some friends when I was offered the card at the time I was seventeen years old, and didnt use a card to make the purchase. I actually forgot about it until recently I got card from my bank a checking card, now I don't carry money on me at all. Once again I traveled with friends to make a purchase I didn't have the card, but it did remind me where it was so i went home and the following day I returned. The manager was nice enough to check and see if it was still active, and It was so I make a purchase and use the card. Three days later theirs a 17.00 dollar charge and later that day an additional 7.99 was thrown on, I'm mad at this point because now I owe the bank 85 dollars. Thats money I don't have and don't wanna pay for someone else's greed, and im like totally being ignored by everyone no matter how many people I talk to.

If any one can offer some advice for the Now situation

Same thing is happening to me. Got it in July when I found a used DVD my son wanted. I didn't have too much money at the time, just some birthday money, and I agreed to get the card. Thought it would be good for getting Christmas gifts. Never used it again...not enough money like I was hoping for. Called in December to cancel it. The guy said I can use it through the rest of the month then it won't charge anymore and I said fine...letting them keep that month's charge as a thanks for being so nice about it. January and last month I wasn't charged...GOOD. But a few days ago I went to use my card for some lunch and it was declined. Upon investigating, it said FYE took out 9.99. I just called again and it was a woman this time, saying my account was still active...and of course re-old me ALL the benefits, some more than once. I told her I can't afford much of anything off 17.30/week and that it needs to be canceled. She said something about a cancellation code or something and mailing this and that in and I'm like WTF? Then she said something about canceling online so I figure that would be easier...it's hard for me to yell at someone and it wasn't her fault the charge went through, it's the company's fault, she's just an outsourced worker. So I go to the website...NADA...can't even get a username and password without buying something! I'm willing to give my VIP code to someone so they can call and ### them out for me 'cause I'm too nice to do it, lol.

You people on here that are complaining are total ###s. They got your card because you bought something with a charge card in an FYE. You get 10% off free for an entire month. After the first month free, the card is 11.99 a month. Thats' why it is presented as 1 month FREE. That should tell the customer after that, it will cost something. For them to have gotten your card and information, you would have had to give them your name, address, and phone number. You also signed off on the authorization. I signed up for the card. And I cancelled the card. Very easy and very simple. There is a lesson here to ###s. Pay attention to what you are signing up for. Read things before you sign your name. Get out of your self centered bubble and pay attention to what is happening around you. If you follow this advice, you may not have this problem in the future.

I also think that most of you people are ignorant in some ways. I work for Sam Goody, which is the same company as FYE. Its my job to sign people up for these 'VIP' passes. The VIP isnt owned byFYE. There is a company out there that goes to bigger companies and asks them to sport there product and sign people up for all the benefits of their 'VIP' pass. So do not blame the salesman or the company for signing you up for this thing. Blame the people that YOU are supposed to call to cancel. Its not us. Trans World Entertainment is great company! I love my job. I do feel bad for you in some ways because maybe that particular salesman didnt fill you in as much as you should have been. Its is that salemans job the sign you up for that. I have to do it as well in order to keep my job because I have a one year daughter to feed. Enough said.

Fye vip backstage pass is a complete scam! I just called alittle bit ago to try and cancel my account for the 2nd time... the guy gave me a confirmation number that "supposedly" means I cancelled my account, but after reading everyone's comments on this matter I'm not taking any chances... I'm calling my bank first thing in the morning to make sure FYE gets blocked from taking money out of my account... and if that dont work I will have to take more drastic meausres. And also for you people leaving comments about its your "job" to get people to sign up for it... I honestly don't care if its your job or not... when someone says they want it canceled then cancel the damn account instead of keep charging them... this is just ridiculous! enough said.

Here is my beef... My 16 year old son borrowed my debit card to buy a CD at FYE. I was not with him, and he signed up for this card. (Either it wasn't explained well, or he didn't understand since he has never had his own account.) In any case, I called to complain and to cancel (along with try to get my money back) because someone under 18, using a card that doesn't even have their name on it SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to sign up for this pass. This company is responsible for my charges and should reimburse me. They say I have to fax a complaint in writing asking for the money back. I plan to do so.

Same happened to me, it's a relief to hear I'm not the only one. Had to stop charges from my banking account, nothing else seemed to work. Somebody needs to sue FYE, it's that simple.

They charge me $11.99 without my permission every month almost for a year now, but I realized it only today. I never signed up for this scam!

I have been charged $11.99 since September 2021 without my consent. I never agreed to sign up for a service I have never used nor intended to use. I am not alone in this fraud. https://www.reddit.com/r/funkopop/comments/9dnp8w/discussion_canceling_fye_backstage_pass_scam/

Affinion Group is the developer for this fraud scheme. When I called to cancel the person on the phone kept insisting I keep my "subscription." I don't believe they cancelled my subscription. I have contacted my bank to dispute the charges.

This happened at the Montebello Mall in Montebello, CA

Used to work there. Was told by district manager to not tell anyone about the charge at the end of the month. People get charged when they use a card. Only use cash at FYE. They need a card to be used on the transaction to link it to the subscription.
