Mixed experiences with core investment at fye
As a frequent visitor to FYE, I've had mixed experiences with CORE Investment. While the selection of products is diverse and appealing, the customer service can be inconsistent. Some interactions have been pleasant, with helpful staff members who genuinely care about the customers. However, there have been instances of slow shipping, damaged products, and difficulties in canceling subscriptions like the Backstage Pass. It's essential to weigh the benefits against the costs before committing to any services. Overall, CORE Investment at FYE offers a range of products but may require caution when engaging with certain services.
Lousy customer service
Order a shirt. Got order confirmation but after almost 2 weeks no shipping notice and when I checked order status, canceled. Wrote FYE and response was the item wasn't in stocks anymore and I would be credited. No sorry, no explanation. If my order was canceled automatically why wasn't I at least refunded automatically.
Good
Good store, they have a lot of things and a good selection of albums. They also have great customer service
-
Pros
- Diverse entertainment selection
- Exclusive merchandise offerings
- Frequent promotions and discounts
- Loyalty program benefits
- User-friendly online shopping experience
-
Cons
- Limited product exclusivity
- High competition from digital media
- Physical store overhead costs
- Narrow target demographic
GREAT!
I have ordered a lot from FYE. They have almost everything new or used. I have ordered used and the quality is still great for a cheaper price. Shipping time is fantastic. I have always gotten my orders ahead of the estimated ship time. Its highly recommended for all your movie and music needs.
Poor Customer Service and Rudeness at f.y.e. Duluth, MN Store
The customer service at f.y.e. is not up to par. The staff at the Duluth, MN store are extremely rude and unhelpful. They seem to be just standing around the registers, acting as if it's a huge inconvenience to ring up a customer. And don't even get me started on the 5 cent bag fee. I understand the importance of being environmentally conscious, but I highly doubt those bags cost them anything. However, my main issue is with the lack of basic customer service. I don't expect to be showered with compliments for buying some graphic tees, but a simple hello and thank you would be nice. I understand that working in retail can be tough, especially during the holiday season, but the store was completely empty anyways. I can easily purchase all of the same items on Amazon, without having to deal with the rudeness. Just because someone has read more comics than me, doesn't make them cool, and Clerks was a movie from over 25 years ago. I will most likely not be shopping at f.y.e. again.
Disappointing Experience with fye.com: A Complete Scam That Will Do Anything to Earn a Buck
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with fye.com. I saw them on some social media and thought it was safe to buy from them, but boy was I wrong.
I ordered four funko pops from them, all of which were exclusive to their website. After a few days, I still hadn't received any shipping info, so I decided to email them to see what was going on. That's when they hit me with the news that two of the pops I ordered weren't actually in inventory, so they canceled them without even telling me. Strike one, am I right?
But it gets worse. When I asked them to cancel the entire order, they refused. Strike two. And then, they had the audacity to tell me that the pops I wanted which were canceled were back in stock now, so I could buy them again if I wanted. Strike three. Why would I want to buy them again just so they could fleece me for more money?
From then on, every interaction with them was just them telling me that my other two pops would arrive soon and giving me a tracking number. They completely brushed everything else under the rug and ignored it.
Honestly, this company is a complete scam that will do anything to earn a buck. I wish I had done more research on them before I made my purchase.
Mixed Feelings About f.y.e.: Great In-Store Experience, Terrible Online Service
I gotta say, I have mixed feelings about f.y.e. On one hand, I absolutely love going to their physical store and the employees there are just fantastic. But when it comes to ordering online, it's a whole different story. Let me tell you about my recent experience.
So, I placed an order on November 10th and paid extra for 3-day shipping. I was really excited to get my items, but it's been weeks and I still haven't received anything. I tried tracking my package through USPS, but there's no record of it ever making it to their Business mailing unit in the area where it was supposed to originate from. When I contacted customer service, they just kept giving me the runaround and wouldn't even give me the tracking number for the carrier that was supposed to deliver my items to USPS. It was really frustrating, especially since I ordered the items for my wife's birthday.
Eventually, I got tired of waiting and decided to order from Best Buy instead. And you know what? Even though the movie I ordered was delayed by 2 days, they actually contacted me to let me know and gave me a tracking number so I could keep an eye on it. It's already in my city and will be delivered tomorrow by 9 pm. Meanwhile, f.y.e. wouldn't even consider sending me another copy of the movie and insisted that I wait for the original to show up before they would do anything.
Overall, I have to say that I really don't recommend ordering anything online from f.y.e. Their customer service is just terrible and it's not worth the hassle. But if you're ever in the area, definitely stop by their store and talk to the employees. They're super helpful and always willing to lend a hand.
FYE.com Review: Terrible Customer Service and Delayed Orders
I pre-ordered two Funko Pops from fye.com on December 28th, 2019. One of them was an FYE exclusive, while the other was not. The release dates were set for the end of February and mid-March, respectively. I was excited to receive my order, but as the days went by, I heard nothing from fye.com. I decided to contact them via email in early March to inquire about the Funko Pop that should have already been released. They replied that the release date had been pushed back.
Two weeks later, I had to email them again to find out what was going on. This went on for a while, with me having to email them frequently to get any updates. Finally, at the end of April, I received one of my orders. However, the other one was nowhere to be found on their website. I continued to email them once a week, and they kept replying that the Funko Pop had been delayed.
I decided to check other websites, and to my surprise, Amazon and Walmart had the same Pop for sale. I had to tell fye.com that the Funko delay was BS because everyone else had it for sale. Finally, in mid-March, I received my second Funko Pop, and everything was fine with the world again. It took five months of bothering them for my order that had already been paid for.
I will never, EVER order from fye.com again!
FYE Backstage Pass Scam: Charged for Cancelled Subscription & Unwanted Magazines
I'm really mad at FYE backstage pass. I signed up on Black Friday and they said I could cancel before Christmas. They said I'd get a month free, but then they charged me $11.99 in December and January even though I canceled. I called to cancel before Christmas, but they say they have no record of it. The lady on the phone tried to get me to keep the backstage pass, but I said no. She hung up on me without saying anything else. I'm really mad because I lost more money than I would have saved with the backstage pass. I also got charged for magazines I didn't want. I'm never shopping at FYE again.
Frustrating Experience with f.y.e.: Rude Employee and Poor Customer Service
I had a really frustrating experience with f.y.e. (fye.com) recently. First of all, I tried calling the store to ask some questions, but no one answered the phone. Then, when I finally found the store after 30 minutes of searching, I could only find one out of the three items I was looking for. When I brought it to the counter, the only employee there was a tall, skinny black gentleman who was incredibly rude. When I tried to ask him some questions, he barely even looked at me and just said "no" to everything. I asked if the other items I was looking for could be sent to the store, and he said no. I asked if there was another store nearby that might have them, and he said no again. When I asked if he could at least tell me if they carried the items in store or if they were only available online, he just said "what we have is what we have." I was so frustrated that I ended up yelling at him, and he refused to sell me my items and told me to leave.
As someone who used to be a store manager and trained customer service employees, I was appalled by this guy's behavior. He was easily the most disrespectful customer service person I've ever encountered. I think he needs to be fired, because he clearly has no interest in helping customers or providing good service. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience at f.y.e. and I don't think I'll be shopping there again anytime soon.
Unscrupulous FYE Store at Lakeside Mall: False "Free" Rewards and Rude Service
I went to the FYE store at Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights, MI for about two hours. I must say, their in-person store has many neat and unique items that caught my attention. While shopping, a nice young gentleman helped me several times, which was very helpful.
However, upon checkout, a much older, fat woman suddenly appeared, and she hadn't helped me at all. Her name was Breanna, and she handed the young gentleman a stack of Star Wars figures and demanded he put them out, leaving her alone to ring me up. I felt like she was probably stealing his commission.
Breanna asked for my name, phone, email, etc. to look up my Rewards account. I said I didn't have one, and I haven't been to FYE in 20 years. She then took my driver's license and made a copy of it, which I found strange. She then told me to sign up for the FREE Backstage Pass Rewards, which I did. She said it would save me $23 today. She then tried to have me pick out a group of magazines, which she said were also "Free," but I knew they were never free.
I asked to see the paperwork for the rewards card, and Breanna held it up in the air. I said, "No, I want to read it and what the small print is." She said, "I'll put a copy in your bag." I didn't ask for a copy in my bag, but I took it anyway. I now did not trust this FREE rewards card because the magazine subscriptions were totally off.
Upon signing up for the FREE Rewards on a small computer screen, I immediately saw that it said I would be charged $11.99/month. I asked Breanna about it, and she talked nonsense. I said I wasn't interested because it's not FREE. She again said I could "simply" call and cancel.
I refused all this FREE stuff that wasn't really free because to work at FYE, you need to be a liar. Breanna then got super ATTITUDE and said she would charge me "Full Price," like it was some threat. I didn't say thank you or anything, and she was just as rude as can be. I had bought almost $300 worth of products, but I couldn't "simply" call to cancel any of their FREE, but not free, subscriptions. I am DEAF and can't use the phone, which I felt was ADA discrimination.
Just for a pre-emptive strike, I immediately cancelled my Master Card. After reading so many reviews, I don't understand why FYE is still in business or why there are no Class Action Lawsuits against such a horrible company. I feel like they enroll you in recurring subscriptions then play Dumb when you try to cancel, or never really signed up to begin with. FYE is one of the most unscrupulous companies out there, and I wouldn't recommend anyone to shop there.
F.Y.E. (fye.com) Review: Poor Service, False Advertising, and Incompetent Employees
it in the first place. This is just adding insult to injury and shows how little you care about your customers. I am extremely disappointed in the level of service I have received from f.y.e. (fye.com).
It is unacceptable that your pickers do not check orders before sending them out. This is a basic requirement for any online retailer and it is shocking that your company does not adhere to this standard. It is clear that your employees are lazy, incompetent, and careless, which is reflected in the incorrect item I received.
Furthermore, the fact that the item I ordered is no longer available is unacceptable. If this was the case, then it should not have been advertised as such on your website. This is false advertising and is a clear indication of the lack of professionalism and integrity within your company.
I am now left with the inconvenience of having to return the incorrect item for a refund, which is a waste of my time and money. I expect to receive a full refund, including shipping and tax, as well as a prepaid return label to return the item at your expense.
Overall, my experience with f.y.e. (fye.com) has been extremely disappointing and I will never do business with your company again. I will also be sharing my negative experience with others on social media to warn them about the poor service and lack of professionalism within your company.
Mixed Experience with FYE Online Store: Overcharging, Stock Issues, and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I've been a fan of FYE for a while now. Their stores were always a go-to for me when I was looking for some new tunes or movies. But now that they're disappearing, I thought I'd give their online store a shot. And let me tell you, it's been a bit of a mixed bag.
On the one hand, I've never been overcharged for anything and everything I've ordered has arrived in a timely manner. But on the other hand, it seems like their warehouse is a bit of a mess. They never seem to know exactly what they have in stock, which can be frustrating when you're looking for something specific.
But the real kicker came when I opened up a two-disc set that I had purchased quite some time ago. I know, I know, it's my fault for not opening it sooner. But when I did finally get around to it, I was disappointed to find that there was only one disc in the set. Now, if this had been a new product, I wouldn't have blamed FYE. That would be on the manufacturer. But this was a used item, which means that someone at FYE had packaged it as complete without actually checking to make sure it was.
So I contacted customer service to let them know what had happened. I wasn't looking for my money back, since I knew I was well past the return date. But I did want some sort of acknowledgement that they had messed up. Maybe a coupon for a future purchase or something. But nope. All I got was a "sorry, no returns past 30 days" from Nick in customer service. I tried to explain that I wasn't looking for a return, just some sort of acknowledgement, but I never got a response.
I tried contacting customer service through every avenue I could find, but the only response I ever got was from Nick, who just repeated the same thing over and over again. It's like there's only one person in the entire customer service department.
So, long story short, if you have any issues with FYE and it falls outside of their return policy, don't expect any sort of customer service. It's a shame, really, because I used to be a loyal customer. But now? I don't think I'll be shopping with them again.
F. Y. E. Online: The Only Place I'll Shop - Here's Why
I gotta say, F. Y. E. Online is the only place I'm gonna shop from now on. Let me tell you why. A few years back, they had to close down two of their stores in my hometown because they couldn't afford the rent. That left only one store in the mall. Before that, I had mixed feelings about F. Y. E. On one hand, they had a huge selection of CDs, DVDs, and cassettes that you couldn't find anywhere else. But on the other hand, their sales and pricing were confusing and frustrating.
Anyway, the bigger store had this cool download bar where you could make your own CDs or load up your mp3 player. So when they brought that to the smaller store, I was excited to try it out. But when I got there, the manager was giving me the stink eye like I was gonna steal something. I ignored it and went to the download station. But then the cashier and the manager couldn't figure out how to connect my mp3 player. I made a joke about them not knowing what they were doing, and the manager got all upset and kicked me out.
I was gonna apologize, but when I went back a few weeks later, she kicked me out again without even giving me a chance to say sorry. I was so mad that I haven't been back since. I'll still shop at fye.com, but I'm never setting foot in that store again. It's not worth dealing with a manager who can't do her job and has no customer service skills. I even threw out my club discount card because I don't want to support a store that puts someone like her in charge.
FYE Complaints 122
Store false advertisement and lack of customer service

Thieves. Lazy, incompetent, dishonest thieves. Avoid at ALL costs!
I ordered item # ID: fye. ***984. Gremlins Collection which consists of Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch on Blu-Ray PLUS 2 FUNKO Vinyl Figures of the characters Gizmo and Stripe for $38.99 minus 20% or $31.19. What I received was Gremlins 2-Film Collection which consists of 2 Blu-rays ONLY. I received NO GIZMO or STRIPE Vinyl Figures as pictured on the item page and advertised and that I ordered and paid for. I ordered this item specifically for the Funko Vinyl Figures. I already have Gremlins and Gremlins 2 on Blu-ray and would not have ordered them again except for the Vinyl Figures. Don't your pickers check their orders before they pick an item or are they that careless and incompetent? The item clearly shows Vinyl Figures of Gizmo and Stripe! The item page now shows that the price has decreased to $29.24 but This item is currently not available.
Great. It was available when I placed my order and paid for it. Now I have to return the incorrect item for a refund rather than for the item I ordered due to your employee's laziness, incompetence and carelessness. Thank you for sending me the incorrect item and taking 5 days for me to receive it only to return it and not be able to receive the correct item that I ordered and paid for. Unbelievable is the level of disappointment and dissatisfaction I have experienced dealing with your company. If the item was no longer available, you should not have advertised it as such with the vinyl figures as pictured on the item page and sent me the incorrect item.
Please email a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#) so that I can return this incorrect item to you for a full refund including shipping and tax.
I will never do business with your company ever again and will tell all of my friends and family to never do business with your company either. I will also recount my miserable experience with your company on social media such as Twitter, Facebook and my blog to alert everyone to never do business with your company either. You employ incompetent, lazy, careless people to fulfill orders incorrectly and don't deserve to be in business.
Also email me a prepaid return label to return this incorrect item to you at YOUR expense as I should not have to pay return postage to return this incorrect item since I already paid shipping to receive
Charged for Magazine Subscriptions 2 months after cancellin
I bought 1 item from an FYE store in Denver in July of 2023. I was told that I could "sign up" and receive 20% off on my purchase. I ASKED "Will this cost anything?" and was told "No." A few days later and I was chaeged $12.99 for a subscription to Backstage. I had to call and cancel. 2 months later, and I randomly noticed a bill for $26 for a magazine subscription that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. FYE has effectively stolen my debit card and continues to cause me stress by charging my card for crap that I never authorized. For the love of god, shut these fraudsters down!
Desired outcome: I want them to be fined for abusing my information. I want a full refund for the $2 Im never getting back from the magazine company, too. Shut FYE down. No company deserves to operate with this level of bad faith.

Disappointing Experience with fye.com: Delayed Delivery and Shady Practices
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with fye.com. I placed an order over a week ago and still haven't received it. I even reached out to them right after I ordered because I saw some negative reviews, but they wouldn't cancel it for me. So now I'm stuck waiting and hoping it shows up eventually.
But that's not even the worst part. When I was checking out, I noticed that the order total on the final page wasn't the same as what I thought it would be. Turns out, they add tax after the order is completed! Who does that? It's not like taxes are a surprise expense, so why not just include them in the total from the beginning?
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend ordering from fye.com. They seem pretty shady to me. If you're thinking about it, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. And if you've already ordered and are having issues, I'd recommend filing a chargeback with your bank. Don't let them take advantage of you like they did to me.
Disappointing Quality: F. Y. E. Hoodie Review
I gotta say, I was pretty stoked to get my hands on a hoodie from F. Y. E. I mean, they had it advertised as 50% off, so I was like, "heck yeah, sign me up!" But when I got to the checkout, they charged me full price. I mean, I wasn't gonna make a big fuss about it or anything, but it was kinda disappointing, you know?
Anyway, I finally got my hoodie and I was all excited to wear it out and about. But let me tell you, it was a total letdown. The embroidery on the side started coming apart after just one wear! I mean, I didn't even wash it or anything, and it was already falling apart. And to top it all off, there's already a hole in it.
I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed about the whole thing. I mean, I was really looking forward to rocking this hoodie, but now I don't even know if I can wear it out in public without looking like a total slob. I don't know if I just got a bad one or what, but I'm definitely not impressed with the quality of this product.
F.Y.E. Review: From Music and Movies to Geeky Stuff - Is it Still Worth the Trip?
F.Y.E. used to be a really cool spot to get your hands on some sweet tunes and movies. But now, it seems like they've gone and turned into a place for selling all kinds of geeky stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love me some nerd junk, but it's just not the same as it used to be.
The video selection at F.Y.E. is pretty small these days, which is a real bummer. I mean, what's the point of going to a video store if they don't have a good selection, right? I even wrote a review on Google about their return policy problems, so you might want to check that out before you make any big purchases.
And don't even get me started on the Backstage Pass. It used to be a pretty sweet deal, but now it's just not worth the price. With such a minimal selection of titles, it's just not worth it. If you absolutely have to get it, make sure you cancel it after the trial period.
Overall, I'd say that F.Y.E. is still an okay place to shop, but it's just not what it used to be. If you're looking for a good selection of movies and music, you might want to try somewhere else. But if you're into all kinds of geeky stuff, then F.Y.E. might just be the place for you.
Mixed Experience with f.y.e. Pass: Great In-Store Service, Frustrating Customer Service
I recently tried out the pass at f.y.e. and had a pretty interesting experience. I went to the store and the guy working there was really nice. He explained what the pass does and how it works. He also warned me that canceling it might be difficult and that the people on the phone might be pushy. I appreciated his honesty.
When I tried to cancel the pass, I called customer service and it was a bit of a nightmare. The person on the other end of the line wouldn't let me get a complete sentence in. I got frustrated and said "just cancel it, I don't want it". Within seconds, he said it was canceled and gave me a confirmation number and his name. However, he wouldn't repeat either of those things and then hung up on me. I was a bit annoyed with the customer service, but at least the pass was canceled.
Overall, I think f.y.e. has some good products and the guy in the store was really helpful. However, the customer service could use some improvement. It was frustrating to not be able to communicate effectively with the person on the phone. But, in the end, I got what I wanted and the pass was canceled.
F.y.e. (fye.com) Review: Terrible Customer Service and Delivery Delays
F.y.e. (fye.com) is the worst place to buy anything online. I had a terrible experience with their customer service, which is not helpful at all. They don't seem to care about their customers once they have received their money. I have been trying to get help from them for a while now, but they keep giving me the runaround and refuse to assist me. I would advise anyone to avoid purchasing anything from them if possible. I am still waiting for my product to be delivered, and it's been a while. I had planned to give it as a birthday gift, but it might end up being a Christmas gift if they ever get around to sorting it out. It's frustrating to deal with such a terrible company, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Fye.com Review: Beware of Bank Account Drainage and Terrible Business Model
So, I decided to check out fye.com to buy a couple of pops. But, boy oh boy, did I run into some trouble with my order. It ended up draining my bank account from a whopping $400 to a measly $19.69! Now, I don't know about you, but I need to eat and pay rent soon. These gifts were not supposed to make me starve and sweat over my rent.
I have to say, I am extremely disappointed with fye.com. I wouldn't even give them one star out of one hundred thousand. Thanks a lot, fye. I really hope your failing business can be solved by ripping off the general masses. You're definitely teaching people to be careful with their card numbers. We don't need any scummy companies like fye getting their hands on our hard-earned cash.
Honestly, their dying business model is just plain terrible. They really suck. I wouldn't recommend fye.com to anyone. Stay away from them if you don't want to end up like me - broke and hungry.
FYE Backstage Pass Membership Review: Disappointing Customer Service and Unjustified Charges
I signed up for the backstage pass membership at fye.com, but I soon realized that I wasn't using it enough to justify the $12/month cost. So, I decided to cancel my membership. However, even after I requested to cancel, I was still being charged monthly. I was really frustrated and tried to dispute this with fye customer service. They told me that they couldn't reimburse me due to their terms and conditions. I was really disappointed because I felt like I was being ripped off.
It's really frustrating that fye.com can get away with charging my bank account each month even after I requested them to stop and cancel my membership. It's not fair that they can just take my money like that. I wish they would have been more understanding and willing to work with me to resolve the issue.
Overall, I would not recommend signing up for the backstage pass membership at fye.com. It's not worth the money and you might end up getting ripped off like I did. It's really disappointing that they don't seem to care about their customers and are more focused on making money.
F.y.e. (fye.com) Review: Disappointing Experience with Late Delivery and Lack of Communication
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience shopping at f.y.e. (fye.com). I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Amazon just as much as the next person, but sometimes you gotta branch out and try new things, you know? So I decided to give f.y.e. a shot and boy, was that a mistake.
I was looking for a really cool Christmas present for someone special and I found just the thing on f.y.e.'s website. The site said it would only take 2-3 days to arrive, which was perfect because I was cutting it pretty close to the big day. But now it's Christmas Eve and I still haven't received my order. In fact, they haven't even started shipping it yet! What gives?
I gotta say, I feel like f.y.e. really dropped the ball on this one. I mean, I understand that things can get a little hectic around the holidays, but come on. If you're gonna promise a certain delivery time, you better be able to deliver on that promise. And don't even get me started on the lack of communication. I had to reach out to customer service multiple times just to get a status update on my order.
Honestly, I wish I had read some reviews before I decided to shop at f.y.e. I feel like I got scammed, you know? Like they promised me one thing and then didn't follow through. It's a real shame because I was excited to try out a new online store, but now I don't think I'll be shopping at f.y.e. again anytime soon.
Mixed Experience with f.y.e.: Wide Variety of Products, but Beware of Loyalty Program
So, I decided to check out f.y.e. (fye.com) online to see if they had any better deals. I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide variety of products available, from CDs and DVDs to vinyl records and even pop culture merchandise. The website was easy to navigate and I was able to find what I was looking for quickly.
However, I did notice a few spelling errors and some grammar mistakes throughout the website. It wasn't too distracting, but it did make me wonder if they were putting as much effort into their online presence as they were into their physical stores.
I decided to make a purchase and was again asked if I had a loyalty card. This time, I was more cautious and asked about the terms and conditions before agreeing to sign up. The sales associate was helpful and explained that I would be charged $11.99 a month, but that I could cancel at any time. I decided to give it a try and was pleased to see the 10% discount applied to my purchase.
Overall, my experience with f.y.e. was mixed. While I appreciated the variety of products and the ease of use of their website, I was disappointed by the spelling and grammar errors and the deceptive tactics used to sign up for their loyalty program. I would recommend shopping at f.y.e. with caution and making sure to read the fine print before agreeing to anything.
Beware of FYE's VIP Program: A Costly and Dishonest Experience
I ain't never bought nothin' from FYE.com, but I did have a real bad experience buyin' somethin' in the store. Somehow, I got signed up for their VIP program without even knowin' it. And let me tell ya, it ain't cheap. They been chargin' me $11.99 every month, sometimes even twice in one month! I feel real dumb for not noticin' sooner, but if you bought anythin' from FYE, you better check your credit card statement real good.
I called up their cancellation number, which is ***131, and they told me I gotta send a FAX to ***115. Ain't that just ridiculous? They ain't even honest about this program. I reckon the cashier musta signed me up without even askin' me. Now I gotta go back to the store and deal with it.
When I tried to cancel my membership, the woman on the phone tried to talk me into keepin' it. I was so dang mad! I ain't never goin' back to FYE again. Y'all should stay away too.
Backstage Pass Subsciption
When I went to checkout at FYE, I was offered to sign up for 10% off. What I wasn't told was that I would be charged monthly afterwards. I've been charged for the backstage pass for 11 months without my consent, and after many attempts to call to cancel this I'm still being charged. I just want to end the subscription as I've only ever been to an FYE store once.
Desired outcome: End subscription and cancel this months charge.
the exact same thing happened to me.
F.Y.P. Backstage Pass (and Smarty Cash?)
I woke up this morning to an unauthorized charge on my debit card for $11.99. I wasn't sure what it was, but I do know that last month I was also charged $3 through my pay pal and then another $19.99 from a different company by the name of "Smarty Cash" When I called to investigate those charges, I was told it was a "subscription fee." I was apparently signed up for some sort of subscription through a record store. I didn't know what they were even talking about?!
In any event, I "canceled" that and was refunded my money. Then this morning this charge appeared on my statement from a company with a different name, "FYE* BSP" When I searched this company, I found another subscription service i did not sign up for and this complaint board.
I tried to call the number provided to cancel it. You get a confusing menu of options, but when you make a selection other than 'customer service" options, such as tech support etc. it hangs up on you.
I am not sure what is happening here, but this feels like a scam. I never gave permission for any company to remove money monthly from my account; I can't afford that... Nor do I want it. The only thing I think is when I went to the record store; I bought a book for my teen, they asked for an email address for 'perks' and in-store discounts. I think they have a rogue employee signing people up for this 'service' without permission; like they get some sort of bonus or something?! Because I did not give them my permission to hit my pay pal or my account independently, and they have hit it now twice from two different names with three different price points. How are they gaining access to my account?!
Desired outcome: I need my account information to be removed from this vast black market data base and my money back.
Membership service
Up front I'll take some blame for being a shy, socially awkward [censored] who let this [censored]ing company pressure me into a [censored] service. And then believed what the employee told me about the service instead of looking into it myself and cancelling immediately.
December 2020, I was pressured into signing up for what I was told was a 'membership' program with benefits like magazine subscriptions, store discounts, whatever [censored]. You know the type. I didn't particularly want it, but everyone was busy, I was stressed from shopping crowds, I said yes to try to just get the whole thing done. My mistake there.
I let the thing ride for almost a year. My mistake there, too. I finally was fed up with the charges for a service I never needed nor used, so I pulled the customer service number off the charge to my bank and called them to cancel this membership. I had to tell them several times that I really wanted to cancel, no nothing would make me keep the membership, I didn't want a discount to stay, etc. You know the type of call. Get it cancelled, and mistake 3, stupidly think all is well.
What was never explained to me until today when I discovered I was still getting charged $12 a month is that the $50 I was paying was NOT *a* membership fee to FYE, it was not THEIR program that THEY signed me up for, it was for TWO separate services through entirely different companies. I had cancelled with the company that does the magazine part, but NOT with FYE's idiotic membership program that I never wanted, needed, nor used. I call to resolve it, they assure me that it's cancelled and I won't get charged again, and that's it. They won't refund, they won't apologize for this [censored]ty business practice, nothing.
I have no leverage to make them stop this [censored]ty behavior. I have no leverage to make them refund the roughly $150 they sucked out over the last year because I didn't realize they signed me up for a service with an entirely separate company in ADDITION to a membership with them. But for the love of god, I hope even a single person finds this complaint ONCE and uses it to get out of their subscription or to never sign up for one in the first place.
Disgusting, disgusting practice. Don't trust anything any employee of this company tells you. If that employee gets it wrong and misleads you, the company itself will not apologize or make the issue right. They don't deserve your money, and that subscription is an absolute waste.
Desired outcome: Please refundAnd please stop signing people up for "a membership" when you're actually enrolling them for services with completely unrelated companies.
FYE BSP VIP charge
Not sure how I got into this VIP club, probably a box I didn't uncheck somewhere. Nonetheless, I've been charged for months before noticing the charges, contesting them through Chase now.
NOT NOW OR EVER BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THIS COMPANY (to my knowledge)
Not sure what else to say. Hope this was a mistake but I see others are having similar issues.
Desired outcome: Refund and explanation of how this occurred
Once you get this resolved, if you want to keep shopping at FYE, you should get a Platinum card. That'll keep them from nagging you about the VIP club. Sure, it's $25 per year, but that's a lot better than $12 per month and you've actually got a shot at breaking even.
Cannot cancel
I got the FYE VIP to make some holiday purchases being told that it is “easy to cancel” when I put in my account number on the card ([protected]) it would let me add all the numbers? So I can’t get into the account. I wrote multiple emails and no one will respond or resolve this issue for me. Please help.
Desired outcome: A canceled vip and a refund
order got cancelled multiple times without any notice
My orders were cancelled again and again without any notice. The customer service is taking forever to reply message as message is the only way to reach them. Why am I still shopping at their website? Because unfortunately, I have their gift cards. If there is a way to cash out their gift card even if 50% off, I would. Too much headache to use the gift card.
online order was cancelled and gift card balance was never back
I used FYE gift card to make purchase online. The first time, the order was cancelled without any notice and even the whole order was disappeared from order history. The 2nd time, I made order again and carefully watched it. After over a week, the order was not shipped yet, so I sent message to FYE (the only option). No reply. After a few days, the order was cancelled. I sent message to FYE again and the customer service replied back in a week that it's due to my credit card's billing address was not matched. I replied back that I used gift card. Any way, I tried to make online order the 3rd time. The order got cancelled again. I message FYE and it took a week to get back that repeating the prior message that my billing address was not matching. In addition, I found my gift card balance became 0 and never come back. I sent messages to FYE which is the only way to contact them. After the whole week, no one answered me. I called the gift card contact number and they asked me to go to physical store which is another state to make purchase. However, the physical store said my gift card balance is 0. What is going on?
